And where is your contribution to this celebrated innovative things? I would like to see.
How will there be anything when all they want from u is to celebrate them when they pay salary before 5th of new Month...

Do you know how much it cost to finance and power new business?

Do you know how much R&grin cost in Nigeria?

Oga stop celebrating nonsense... Check what their demand was before 2015...

Continue defending your salary....

May your family life continue going the pace Nigeria is moving
....and this is the reason why you as a person refused to be innovative?

Other countries are celebrating Innovative thing, breaking ground with science and technology and my country is celebrating increase in crude demand and English.

What a shame
For me this line of thinking of yours is the shame. You lot are less perceptive and rational, but rather emotional. If Nigeria increase are export to a country so much that the country see this as a strategic bargaining chip for increase in bi-lateral trade, is that contra-innovative? What do you expect the government to run the economy with? "Breaking ground (whatever that means) with science and technology" that amounts to what?

Looks good for us at the moment, but we cannot keep doing that. I am not an economist, but I believe there is lies an opportunity for both countries to increase commerce both ways. Wines as suggested is good. We could not only import wines from Argentina, we could learn wine making from them along these lines and start a standard wine industry

I really think, it has something to do with d taste buds. D way I see pple in shopping malls, loading their carts, with those stuff ehnshocked
It has nothing to do with the taste buds. It has been confirmed by many. Those people you met loading their cart, were doing so because the price is cheaper and they have also not tasted the Nigeria version of the product. They need to check what they are not doing right.
Madam mavinc4u ,

You need to consider many variables. You have been used to the foreign version because of your exposure to it (you bought it overseas, you buy it here etc). I hazard a guess that people in your category are less than 10% of shoppers. There are significant differences in taste and qualities of Kellogg's Cereals from different countries. My wife buys cereal from US, I sometimes buy from South Africa and we buy from Nigeria. While my wife complains about quality and taste, my son is particular about brand, my daughter is indifferent. Me? I don't even do cereal often as I am not the breakfast type.

Consider people on the lower cadre of the middle income earners or low income earners who gets an opportunity to afford "Kellogg's", Do you think they are concerned about the difference in taste and quality or where it is coming from? I want us to imagine the detail and diligence that the sales people had invested in feasibility studies before getting the organisations to commit to these investment and compare it with patterns of sales we see today. They see from a multi-dimensional perspective what you see from a single standpoint.

I think one of the reasons has to do with the variety of maize being used. Our Maize is not of the same variety compared to the one being used in UK, and our FG will not allow them to import maize from UK at the detriment of our local agriculture business.

I think we should be patient. If I am running this business, the strategy will be to first secure a foothold and lock down the market. The can later work with institution like IITA to improve the maize seedlings and get out better product

mavinc4u: :

Is it only cornflakes? All their made in Nigeria products are quack. Cocopops and risecripies taste very bitter.

To be honest, their UK made products are good though expensive.
1. U both have heard of them n their products, in d country.

2. Who invests $400m+ in a country, where their products aren't welcomed.

As long as they're bringing in FDI, they're highly welcomegrin

Expanding their product line, probably, build a new factory, employ more workers, pay more tax, create more employment opportunities.
In addition, what they both fail to see is there Nigerian market serves dual purpose. First for expansion, lower production cost, wider target customers for increase sales. Secondly Nigeria is strategic to their export/expansion drive. With and from Nigeria they can better capture the sub-saharan African markets

olajay86:
http://www.titopeblog.com/2018/05/codeine-abuse-is-handiwork-of-hopeless.html

Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central has said that the state of hopelessness in the economy is responsible for the abuse of codeine by Nigerians.

The lawmaker said this in reaction to an investigatory video by BBC recorded in Nigeria showing abuse of codeine by youths and its consequences.

Titope Blog reports that the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, on Tuesday directed the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to ban with immediate effect further issuance of permits for the importation of codeine as active pharmaceutical ingredient for cough preparations.

Adewole said the directive became necessary due to the gross abuse of Codeine usage in the country.

However, reacting through his Twitter handle, Shehu Sani said creation of a stabilised economy and system to give hope to the youths will hinder them from finding solace in Codeine.

He urged the federal government to promote the economy, hence, give meaning to their lives.

Sani wrote, “Codeine is an opium that symbolizes our social dislocation and societal collapse. What we have is a system that has over the years ostracized and mentally deformed a generation, dispatching them to seek solace in aphrodisiac .

“Codeine is a problem and the bigger problem remains a corrosive socio economic order that created a state of hopelessness. We must continue to work hard in order to change it so as to give meaning to the lives of our young ones.”
@OP,

Are you on "Codine" or is there some drugs you should be taking? You mean Shehu Sani said the underlined and you and the blogger translated it to mean "Codeine abuse is the handiwork of a hopeless economy". Honestly did you send your comprehension on holiday or something?

Ade3000yrs:
Gbam! U nailed it. Moral over money. But Feminism is not toxic it is a more subtle and strategic way to get things done without conflicts and stress. Only Lazy youths would be trilled by Davido and his cohorts over hyped, faked or inflated extravagances. This our Nigerian artist are all morally and materially broke but fake their life to the media, yet we Africans are too blind to see it. we dont! Only fake people would buy fake lies, fake news and in the end become inducted in the cycle of fake life and ideology! In the end we blame our misery or mischievousness on bad government, non well wishers and circumstances, poor exposure and lack of quality education or environment
1. I think he speaks contextually and generally when he asserts that Feminism is toxic. Let me try an put it in perspective for some of us that are interested in the moral and intellectual value proposed

a.
Believe it or not, what we are witnessing today is one of the unintended fallouts of the extreme faction of feminism: The Moral Self-Depreciation of Womenfolk. After all, the cardinal philosophy of modern feminism is CHOICE and SELF AUTONOMY. So who are we to question a woman who CHOOSES to stay in an abusive but profitable relationship? If she has a right to choose who stays in her body and a right to choose her role in a marriage, why not this?
While feminism advocate for equity(unfortunately misinterpreted for equality), the extreme faction of feminism has led to misuse of and enslavement thereof of "free will" and "self ownership". Also this extreme faction of feminism is relegating "KNOWLEDGE" & "VALUE" to the background. "It is my choice"... even when it is clear that these choices may send you to destruction, over "my choices determines who I am..and become". That is why a typical Chioma probably feels her sole purpose in life is to be a typical Davido's "B*tch"

Therefore

b.
Feminism is toxic not because of its intended consequences but because of its unintended ones(consequences), and we are already seeing them play out. If consistency matters, no hardline feminist should be able to condemn any woman who chooses abuse and disrespect over self dignity. IT IS HER CHOICE!
Answers like -"it's her life", "What is your business?", "Broke-ass", "Jelous", "Poke-noser" etc are already factored into this.

I've come to realise that we do not live life for ourselves alone. There are higher purposes and we cannot make ourself the sole player in that purpose. I'm priviledge to have a daughter and a son. I have consistently been teaching both -"Brains over Body". Do I want my daughter to be a typical Chioma? "God forbidest"! Do I want my son to be a typical Davido? "God Forbidest"!
