@Blank,Amen o.Agiboma n imurboss,my org gives maternity leaves o.Its jst that I'm a new staff yet to be confirmed, took maternity leave last year while on probation so to them taking another this year wasn't wise but I thank God for His mercies,I sorted it out.I'll be on leave without pay. In a country like Nigeria that where graduates are praying to be employed as gatemen,I rushed at the offer o,lol

Hi ladies,
Its been a while I checked in,work and home life hasn't been easy.I thank God for a smooth pregnancy so far, almost 20weeks gone now.
I cannot wait to go for an ultrasound and scan so I can hear and see what my baby looks like.
I got into so much trouble sneaking out of work to get naps and of course there is a policy that does not encourage taking maternity leaves ever so often but I thank God I've sorted all of that.
I'll keep keeping everyone posted.

blank: Continuing my story....
Blank, dis is my story to a Tee,thank God I've started coping now.God will definitely see us through in Jesus name,Amen.
My baby is 13 months and i am a couple of months gone. It was initially what i wanted but not now. Situations have changed and i am not so thrilled about being preggies again. I haven't even started antenatals though i take my vitamins and have done a scan.

This one is not as smooth as the first one. I am always tired, had morning sickness for a bit though i have now been able to control it. I sneak off from my office and sleep for 2 hrs in the afternoon (almost got into trouble with my supervisor). My baby is so demanding right now that i don't know how i will cope. I am still trying to hide the pregnancy in my office till the new financial year so that i won't run foul of their (in my opinion) redundant Hr policies. I really do not know how long i can hide it as i am now showing. Just a tough situation.

Diamondlove, i feel you on wearing a bra all night. As it is presently, i cannot even sleep with clothes on, i just throw a wrapper or d duvet across my body.
Dudugirl01, the doctor said the best position is lying on the left side, he listed a number of benefits i cannot readily remember now but he did say it was good for the kidneys and some other vital organs.

Sweettweet, i had the same horrible headaches in my first pregnancy. Initially, the doctor thought it was as a result of high bp but we checked repeatedly and it wasn't. I never took drugs cos i was afraud but i tried to rest alot and miraculously, it stopped by itself. Infact, i did not notice when it eventually stopped cos i had somehow blocked my mind to the terrible pain.

Diamondlove, do not stress yourself over your inability to sleep. I had that experience with my first and second pregnancies. Infact, these days once i wake up i use the long stretch of night ahead of me to pray for a safe and successful pregnancy and delivery, maybe you sholud try that; at least put the sleeplessness to good use, cheers.

Agiboma, thanks. I don't know why but for some reason or the other i am so reluctant to start ante natal but my husband has promised to drag me there as soon as he is back in the country later this month or early next  grin

Wow, great topic.
My first pregnancy was a blast though i had little issues like morning sickness in the 1st trimester but nothing major; luckily my baby was born normal without too much stress, but men, labour was something else; i swore i would never go through that kind of pain and torture for anyone, lol, i am sure God must have been laughing out loud cos here i am, 16 weeks pregnant!

I look forward to giving birth without too much stress this time around. As an aside, i need advise urgently please. I am yet to start ante natal but i have done a scan to determine if my baby is okay and it is. I am presently on pregnacare plus, the one with folic acid and omega h3, i also use milk calcium. Do i need to add anyother drug? I will start my ante natal classes later this month or early next month, thanks.

Health / Re: Male Doctors Should Stop Pertaking In Pregnancy Check Up. by maran1983(f): 9:26am On Mar 08, 2012
Op, well i do not know how the doctors behave where you are but when i was preggers i had routine checks with both male and female doctors and they were very professional all through. Again, nobody ever used their fingers to check me till i was in labour and that was only for a few seconds to see how far i had dilated.

Poster, you are really so stoopid. Did your common sense that is obviously not so common not tell you that you have to take the lady to the hospital.
Ediooot, at the end of the day, after destroying her life you will suddenly wake up and realise she is not as beautiful as you want. Randy he-goat!

@Tessybabe, have you tried wrapping a plaster around her finger? That could help. A neighbour of mine had the same issue with her son and she said the plaster bit helped.

Thank alot Muttee, i do appreciate your help. I hooked up with Mrs. Siena out side of this forum and she gave me loads of tips on different kinds of food to try out. I am trying them out gradually to see which he likes.

On the biting part, my son is a king in biting; at times he pulls ,y top down so he can get to bite my boobs! People advised me to bite him back but i do not have the heart to do that,i bought him a soft toy instead and anytime he is tempted to bite me, i give him his toy and that has helped a whole lot.

Hi all, my email addy is

My question is how to get children interested in food. My baby is 13months and has refused to take solids; i have tried all ways possible to entice him to eat all to no avail. The only foods he likes eating are custard, tea (milo) and bread, he eats processed foods from cow and gate or heinz but i am worried that since it is canned it could be harmful to his health; mothers in the house with experience, please, help.

I will add all the other mothers above and get your pins, thanks.

@Cottonx, i think sincerely your fiancee wants to break away sexually from her bizz partner (Which is why you are in the picture) but he seems to have a kind of hold on her.
I'll advise you sit her down and discuss your fears, that could help.
Best of luck bro.

OP, I understand where you are coming from culturally. In some cultures, it is not an accepted norm to get married before your elder siblings, but personally, i do not think it should be a problem especially if you discuss it with your brother first so he does not feel left out of preparations.
Good luck!

I had to laugh out @this topic. Personally, i think it's a gene thing for men to be so disorganized. I can't remember a time when i didn't have to help my husband look for his tie, cuff-links etc. But like someone said, it's all part of the little things i miss about him when we are apart!
