Situations can make a mother not be able to do EBF for 6 months. D lady even try sef, she did for 3 months. I never did exclusive for one day, my mum (a nurse) never allowed it, for the purpose that this lady is complaining of.

Anyways, lets just watch what we state here as there are a lot of people that depend on our contributions.

Preshila: Pls let's discuss the kind of music we allow children to sing and dance to. Was @ a birthday parry of a 1 yr old recently and the thing wey eyes see, my mouth no fit talk. E just be like say na night club we dey, the only difference was that the participants were kids. and when I mean kids, i'm talking of kids between 3 and 10 yrs. In fact, I had to go separate two kids; a boy and girl that were smooching themselves in the name of dance Chei! Na so I just dey look like lucozade. Then during the dance competition nko! na that time all hell was let loose. In fact eh, I no fit describe again. To even make matters worse, the yeye parents were clapping and hailing their children. Pls, make we talk about this...

I thought I was alone in this. My kids don't watch music videos or listen to musicals except it's on 1g. When we are going out I play kids related songs for them.
I had to go to their school to ask that they please not include them in any dance competition thing. They participate in dramas and choreography but not to secular music.

Some people feel I am taking it too far, well, that's their business. I am simply doing what I feel is right for my kids.

Wendy, I only recently started adding the indomie spice to my daughter's noodles and that's because she's 17 months now, even at that, I don't add all. I usually add crayfish and soyabeans to it instead.
So long as your baby is ok eating it without the spices you have nothing to worry about, just add lots of blended crayfish to make it tasty.

There's nothing to worry about. Babies develop at different speeds. When she starts walking now, you'll be complaining about having to run after her all day.

Julieni, I also suffered constant headaches in my 1st pregnancy. I suspected high bp, but after closely monitoring my bp for a month I found out it wasn't the problem, yet the head aches continued.
What I did was rest more and eat better, I didn't even know when it stopped. I just noticed one day, I think in the 6th month that I wasn't experiencing it anymore.
My advise is check your blood pressure, if its normal then try resting frequently and for longer too. This too shall pass.
As for the kicks, you may not feel anything till about 20-24 weeks.

Not to scare you Byvan, kids get molested in schools too. Sometimes, even by their class teachers!
Bottom line, nowhere is 100% safe, as parents we just have to be prayerful, watchful and try to be best friends with our kids.

byvan: Ile apart from kids being in school some of the times,a parent can be available if the couple want it so.Majority of the sexually abused I have come cross weir violated by relatives and house helps. We cannot be with the kids 100% of the time but we can at least try by being available when they aren't in school.

Wheat is made from wheat and rice from rice. I personally believe rice cereals are better to start with as they are gentler on the stomach, maybe after a month you can introduce wheat.

Does he have cough? Could it be as a result of over feeding? As in he's full and you still try to get one last spoon in.
I ask because I had the same experience with my son and it was as a result of over feeding. Most times, I didn't want the food to waste! Funny though, because he'd end up wasting much more plus I had to clean up after too.

Did your child take any iron supplement with his malaria drugs? If yes, that is the cause of the black stool. Same thing happened to my son in the same age range.

My 2 1/2 year old has been passing out black stool for some time now. I dewormed him a few months back and it went back to normal. Recently he had severe malaria, he just finished his dose of antimalarial and his stool is totally black. Has anyone experienced this?

I drove all through my two pregnancies, matter of fact, I drove my self to hospital while in labour both times and delivered almost immediately, I never had muscle pullthroughout both pregnancies so that's why I doubt driving could be the cause but I could be wrong though. It is well.

Mothers and fathers in the house, there's a meningitis campaign presently going on in the FCT (I don't know of other states). Please, let's endeavour to take our kids and wards to the hospital for the immunization, it's for ages 1-29. Nursing mothers and pregnant mothers below 29 years can take it too.
For those in the FCT, you can get the immunization from State House Clinic, free of charge. You don't need to be a patient there or know somebody there, just walk in and be immunized. Even if you had previously immunized your child/ren before now, they can still take this one as it's for a 10 year period.
