Mothers and fathers in the house, there's a meningitis campaign presently going on in the FCT (I don't know of other states). Please, let's endeavour to take our kids and wards to the hospital for the immunization, it's for ages 1-29. Nursing mothers and pregnant mothers below 29 years can take it too. For those in the FCT, you can get the immunization from State House Clinic, free of charge. You don't need to be a patient there or know somebody there, just walk in and be immunized. Even if you had previously immunized your child/ren before now, they can still take this one as it's for a 10 year period. The virus is deadly, I lost a brother to it. |
Mutty.babe:Yes dear, your big stomach is normal; it will reduce eventually. Hope you and the twins are doing fine, take care. |
Tbaby, I'm sorry for your loss. The Lord is indeed your strength. It is well. |
Olivia, the drugs your doc has given you are standard pregnancy drugs. Pregnacare original is simply folic acid and the pregnacare plus contains folic acid and omega 3. So long as you take your drugs regularly you and your baby will be fine. olivia3d: Tanx ladies for taking time to respond to my post. |

@Jade Williams, I asked my ob gyn about tying of tubes and she said its done in National Hospital, Abuja. She explained that you sign a consent form. If you are already pregnant then they'll do a cs for you and in the process tie up your tubes. Hope this helps. |
I use the same implant, though mine is called implanon. Its of two types, one for 3 years and another for 5 years. I put it in when my daughter was just 6 weeks, so far, all good. I get my period regularly and I've not added unnecessary weight. I heard no periods and weight gain are its disadvantages, you can google it to know more. Hope this helps. tjskii: Hello preggyz,ow una dey hope our babyz are kicking |
I remember my first prayer was that you will be my husband. I remember the heartbreak when GOD responded via a prayer book that we couldn't get married. I blamed mom, it was her prayer book after all. I remember negotiating, begging that rules be changed and that the impossible could become possible Only a sweet man can touch a child's heart like that. I still love and miss you very much dad. |

[quote author=itsmelex]Common on nairaland ***just wandering why*** Lecturer it is 'wondering' and not 'wandering'. It's extremely irritating to the eyes. |
My day starts by 4.45am,I pray then head to the kitchen to start preparing my son's lunch. Shower and then wake my son for breakfast, the nanny bathes and prepares him for school. I'm usually off by 6am or latest 6.10am. I'm done with work by 4pm, get home by 5.30pm or slightly earlier depending on the traffic. 5.45-7pm is home work, cartoon and shower time. From 7.30 we watch more cartoons till 8.30pm then its bed time for the kids. Oga and I get our groove on, watch a movie or gist till 10pm. By 2am I'm up to check on the kids, then back to bed till the alarm goes off! |
How old is your baby? If she's 9 months and above, then it's ok to feed her oats but please, use her formula instead of regular adult milk, cheers. omogemi: pls mothers can i feed my baby quaker oat? i notice she likes taking it from her dad whenever he's having breakfast. |
My dear, I didn't wait to be told before I stopped giving my kids any cough syrup. I read an article where a pediatrician advised against cough syrups and co for children. What I do instead is give steam baths and use mentholatum or silverbird mixed with shea butter for them when they catch a cold. blank: Please throw away any cough syrup or expoctorant you have. It causes future problems for the child. I am battling with asthma like symptoms in my toddler cos of all the expectorants he has taken. In fact, i have stopped all multivite and stuff. Just Ventolin for now. |
Well, I wasn't a virgin when I got married and neither was my husband; but, we had both agreed to follow bible doctrines and not have sex till our wedding night. To reassure myself that all was well I'd occassionally have a feel of the yekini, so I had an idea of the size and length. Another thing we had was good communication. No topic was too sacred. I asked him lots of questions which he truthfully responded to. To further put my fears to rest, I pried the number of his ex from his brother, gave her a call and was able over time to find out how he was between the sheets. Needless to say, I was in a coma for a week after our wedding! |
Yea, Jade, I used to watch that programme too when I was on maternity leave but not anymore cos of work. I better stop giving my kids Abidec, I'll introduce honey too. Thanks for the heads up. Jade William: I read whats written on dtin or sachet of food items al d tym.I learnt it frm a programme called great expectations whch is a south african program, televised on e southafrica, chanel 250 on dstv by 10.30am wk days.U'l learn a lot. They talk abt different topics evryday&its educative. On Wednesdays! They do super nanny by 10.30am.They invited a paediatric dr 2wks ago who mentioned that givin children 2much multivitamins or 4 2long isn't good.It makes their bones tender&overstimulates their liver enzymes too so i'v stopped d ABIDEC&kiddipharmaton i was givin my girl b4 cos sh's not a food persn.I so understand d part of a kid refusin or selectin what 2 eat.My girl can overact drama. If u force her, sh'l throw up evrythng.Jeeez.Motherhood is truly d hardest job on earth. So exhausting&challenging&I am so complaining&I'm so scared of gettin knocked up again. My husbnd has bn makin side comments lik when ar we welcomin another littlevand I'm like wil u do d breastfeeding and latenyt work? |
[quote author=chacha3]I am so so frustrated, today I wil buy dis tomoro I wil keep it aside, hmmmm just SMH. Lol, we are in the same boat! |
Chacha, please do not give your child goldenmorn till s/he is 3 years, its written on the pack. chacha3: @Jade,tanx I have actually stopped feeding him wit cerelac, am giving just breastmilk nd water though I have bought friso gold(rice Based) and after tomoro I wil start feedin him wit it also pap is not a bad idea cos its more natural wit less additives so I will give him pap as well. After all its easy to make and even more affordable. With his reaction I will take my time and then gradually introduce other solids to him. I may later give him cerelac and then goldenmorn and other foods. It has not been funny anyway, kids are different cos I never experienced this with my first baby. |
Omogemi, I usually mix the soya and milk immediately I bring the pap down from fire. You know both are in powder form so I add a little hot water and pour them in, the water helps smoothen the powder. omogemi: @itmelex do u mix d pap with crayfish n milk together before feeding ur baby? |
Wow, really? That hasn't happened to me o. Maybe the effects are different for some people. iyatrustee: I also have the implant on. Bad side effect is that once you see your period, you would start spotting endlessly. |
I use implanon too but I started having my periods from when my baby was 3 months! Babe.me, you could try the morning after pills, I've forgotten the name, just google it. blank: I use Implanon. It is an implant in your arm. No need to calculate anything or remember to take injections or swallow pills. Good side effect is that i have not seen my period since i started using it. Bad effect is that i have added my baby weight back but i am working on it. It is good for 3yrs. |
Same thing happened to me with my 1st pregnancy, I wasn't too bothered as it wasn't bleeding or painful. I didn't even know when it left after delivery. However, I advise you draw your doctor's attention to it on your next visit to the hospital. All the best. slim05: Hi everyone, I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and I noticed some protuding growth on my anus this morning, its a bit painful but not uncomfortable. There's no blood when I use the toilet, my bowel movement is good, I use the toilet every morning at least and its not always difficult. So, I can say I don't go through stress to defecate. I'm so reluctant and tired to go to the hospital, any one knows what this is? |
Sexy, for both babies I worked till the day I gave birth, but then, that's me. Do what your body most feels comfortable with, all the best. The Lord is your strength. sexyshe: Am 37 weeks pregnant and don't realLy know when to stop working.my dh told me to stop but am not used to staying home alone waiting for labor to come.can I stil go one more week?I feel I can stil go one more week but news of women given birth in brt scares me.pls I need your urgent reply .thnks |
Happy birthday to him. May God preserve him to see many twos, 12, 22, 52, 102 etc, Amen. k4kenny: Hey Mamas in d house |
Please, what is gingivitis? Dudugirl01: Took her to see a dentist yesterday, says its gingivitis, she's was placed on injections for3 days and its getting better |
Mcfemad, speaking based on my experiences. Both babies hated their cots/crib. To show displeasure they'd cry each time I put them in; if they slept and I put them in it they'd be sure to wake up in the next hour unlike when they slept on my bed or even on the parlour couch (with supervision of course). Now for the stroller, because we live in an estate it has been very useful. I'm using the same one I used for my son for my daughter; her father takes her out in it most evenings. |
jeffizy: Lol.That's the thing, he's married! I have been tempted to ask the wife how she copes on several occassions, but, I decided to allow her carry her cross silently. |
Jeffizy, I suspect we have the same brother! He snores even sitting down. I don't know if the walls in my house are not thick enough cos I hear him through the walls! He's tired of my complaints so these days if he's in my town he doesn't stay over, he prefers lodging in a hotel and only comes for visits and lunch |

Will send both to you...
. May the Almighty continue to protect our LOs and may he preserve our lives to witness their greatness. Amin.
