PoliticsRe: South-east PDP Endorses Fuel Subsidy Removal by MarcAnthon(m): 11:58pm On Nov 28, 2011
"In any case, why should Nigeria, with huge crude oil deposits, have to import refined products? Why should Nigerians pay for the resources so bestowed on them by God through their noses? Why is the price of products, even among importer/exporter nations higher in Nigeria? The answer lies in the crude, prebendal, corruption-ridden state system that we run in this country.
"For example the pump price of petrol in Iran is N58.40, N30.66 in Kuwait, N32.12 in Qatar, and N17.52 in Saudi Arabia while it is a meagre N5.84 in Venezuela. In Egypt pump price of petrol is N46.72, while it is N39.42 in Bahrain. It is N135 in the USA for high premium inclusive of all state and federal taxes,"
Would any of the sycophants here give us a coherent response to that statement of fact, while also comparing Nigeria's GDP to that of these countries?
You do not reward a failed manager with more resources to squander. Let them cut off the waste that presently exists before talking about anymore resources to replicate heaven in Nigeria. Idiots!
As for those South eastern 'leaders'
they were never any good.
PhonesRe: How Did Feel When You Lost Your Phone? by MarcAnthon(m): 11:34pm On Nov 28, 2011
Used to lose phones like every six to eight months on the average, until I had to settle with 3K nokia - no more expensive phones. I usually just dash the person both the sim and get another one. Thank God for fb, after 2 months I'll get virtually all my contacts back. Have gotten over that though just that I have now graduated to losing laptops, Lol.
RomanceRe: Do You Love Your Spouse 2years After, When Does Love Expire? by MarcAnthon(m): 4:37pm On Nov 28, 2011
Love doesn't expire, but the question should be asked was it love in the first place? Also pertinent question is love enough to sustain a marriage?

Being married for 3years and from my little experience and from a spiritual point of view, marriage is so complicated and complex that you need the help of God for any God ordained marriage to survive,to add to all the complexity you have the devil who fights marriages and then you have the two individuals in the marraige who arrive the marriage with character flaws and yet added to the mix is two people or one persons going into marriage without adequate preparation or knowledged, then my poster what you get is the examples you enumerated above.

Not to fear what you have seen is one side of the coin, there is another side the good side,so go into marriage with adequate knowledge, prepare well, pray and trust God.Let me leave you with a few advices that have helped me

1)Don't marry tribe, complexion, shape, profession, money but marry your friend and marry for love
2)True love comes from God,it's not a feeling but a decision you make to stay committed to your spouse, feelings is usually sustained by this decision, the decision helps you throught the challenges that always come.
3)During courtship spend more time communicating instead of being involved sexually, communication brings understanding, understanding bring unity and peace.
4)In marriage prepare to change and make compromises to make the marriage work.
5)Agree from the beginning they are areas to are not to be touched,e.g Divorce, unfaithfulness. When this is settled then you feel safe to be yourself in marriage never ever in marriage threaten each other with divorce or being unfaithful for any reason, fight fair,Arguments will come but there is nothing that can't be settled by two matured adults sitting down and having a talk.
6)Work very hard to keep the passion in your marriage burning hot,let nothing(e.g children, career, business, church activities) take the place of first your relationship to God and then your relationship with each other. Be innovative in the bedroom,go out on dates, never settle into a rote, husbands;keep chasing your wife, and wife;keep seducing your husbands.
7)No matter what or how hard,do two things and your marriage will never die1) Always pray together every day about your marriage 2)Never sleep in seperate rooms or beds and if you are brave enough always sleep close to each other Unclad!

With all these, not exhaustive in the least,i can tell you that love never expires.
To whoever wrote this, Thanks bruv. Really beautiful!
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by MarcAnthon(m): 4:46pm On Nov 26, 2011
I have been reading with dismay some of the anti-Odimegwu comments on this thread and it smacks of ignorance on your parts. If you had any idea of the decentralized nature of Igbo leadership and how every man essentially answers his father's name, you'll understand that it was no small feat that he was able to unite all Igbos in a war against a larger and more prepared force.
That nationalists like the great Zik of Africa, Okigbo and Achebe abandoned their nationalist agendas and united to fight side by side Odimegwu attests to the superiority of his vision. Arguably, Biafra wld have succeeded but for the British who didn't want to see their legacy disintegrate after only seven years.
It was our people that died in the war, our brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, sons and daughters, so why are you all taking panadol for our headache? He is our hero, fullstop! And when he returned from exile we gave him the title of Ikemba-The Power of the Igbo Nation. He was always reverred and history judges him kindly. So please allow us mourn in peace and quit trying to insult a memory we hold dear.

RomanceRe: Are You Wifey Or Are You P***y? - For Da Ladies! by MarcAnthon(m): 12:31am On Nov 26, 2011
Y'all necessarily have to cultivate reading habits, else you might just be guilty of what the man was saying - shallow, unintelligent girls won't be taken seriously by men. No one's intelligent all by himself. It's the body of ur knowledge and experience that sets u apart. That's where reading comes in.
Having said that, I think the whole man-woman thing is overrated. People have been known to be happy all by themselves. Having to constantly do self- assessments all for the purpose of attracting a male or female is really stretching it, IMO.

@Solomon111,  I'm ashamed for u o. Peeps are in diaspora for diff reasons. Some for biz and school. And it doesn't mean they won't ever go back to their country. Even if they left for economic reasons and never plan to go back does that mean they automatically forfeit their right to hope for the advancement of their native land? If they can't take part in protest, does that foreclose any other help they can render through Internet activism and financial support? Try to not have a one-track mind, for ur own sake. Who are you to be the judge of who partakes in the benefits of any change in Naija, assuming that happens in our lifetime sef?
PoliticsRe: What Is Wrong With The Youths Of This Nation? by MarcAnthon(m): 3:09pm On Nov 24, 2011
@ Islamrules, I share your pains, really. Sometimes hope for Naija bouys within me, most times I just don't see a better country. People keep saying when we are pushed to the wall, we'll react. These so called leaders have been pushing for 51 years, but that proverbial wall has just failed to materialize. The generations ahead of us have failed us. If we are to change Nigeria, we should stop expecting any of them to lead us. We must find within ourselves the strength to come out of the crowd and stand to lead and pray we find like-minded people to stand with us because unfortunately also, the Nigerian youth has been conditioned by society to be unabashedly materialistic. God save our country!

@OP, goodness is in the heart and it manifests in your character, beliefs, reaction to what goes on around you and in your aura. You often can't fake it for too long. Sooner or later we inevitably reveal the real content of our hearts. It's not necessarily a question of how you dress. A good person (boy/girl) just has a good heart, shikena. PoliticsRe: North’s Silence On Boko Haram Is Sabotage – FG by MarcAnthon(m): 5:11pm On Nov 21, 2011
When the president exonerates his MEND boys from an attack which they claim to have launched, how does he expect d northern elders to condemn a more deadly and independent (not-sponsored) organised group
I beg to differ on their being without sponsors. The culpability of some of those eminent Northern leaders is as glaring as their silence on these attacks. Religion and illiteracy have always been a political tool with Northern leaders since before independence. What hasn't been helping us recently is the indecision of Jon Dumbo. He sees himself as a victim and has refused to take charge, hence his adversaries have continued to grow stronger and more daring.
A few simple things he could have done to stem the tide:
Sack his failed security chiefs and appoint more capable hands, instead he rewards them with national honors.
Publish the names of those found culpable and put them in the court of public opprobrium. Instead he dithers.
Engage the northern elite and leaders of thought in more vigorous discussions. Let them understand that it is treachery to stand by and watch while the nation burns.
Declare a state of emergency in Borno, if need be.
Get our police armed to the teeth in these areas. Let his voice be strong, and his hand heavy.
Assist communities to become more involved in their own security, while the police coordinates.
All we get instead is a feeling that Jon Dumbo is just counting his days, feeling sorry for himself, and just wants to be remembered as a 'was once president'. That's why it never pays to give leadership to someone who isn't prepared for it. 95% of the time you get nothing good out of such venture.

Sad, isn't it? Trucks and dogs to suppress a non-violent, innocuous protest. May God save us from these retards.
I'm even more saddened that only a few people turned up. I think these protests should be organized on weekends (Saturdays) to get a larger turn-out. You can't blame people if they have to work on weekdays. That may be asking a bit too much at this point since IMO the more politically aware are the working class folks. Our jobless youths seem not to have had enough. And it's not as if the media outlets don't work on weekends.

EducationNigerian School Emerges Winner At International Science Fair by MarcAnthon(op): 3:00am On Nov 10, 2011
Madonna Model Secondary School, Port Harcourt has emerged the winner at the just concluded International Science Fair competition held in Brazil.

Desmond Achoakawa, the coordinator, Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology in Nigeria (SOCPROTEC), said on Wednesday in Abuja that the school emerged first out of the 35 countries that participated. Mr Achoakawa said that Madonna Model Secondary School was one of the three schools that represented Nigeria at the fair.

The competition was tagged ‘MONSTRATEC’, and the countries presented more than 300 bio-digester projects, designed for decomposing organic household waste and extract gas for cooking.

The coordinator said that the success of the school showed that Nigeria could actually excel in science and technology, as a relevant tool for national development.
He said that the project was chosen as the best because of its relevance to the Nigerian environment and the country’s contribution to waste management and the high cost of cooking gas.

We have been trying to get the project registered at the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion and to see the possibility of having the bio-digester in many homes. “This will reduce the dependence on kerosene and cooking gas, as the bio-digester provides an alternative for cooking at a very minimal cost since the required raw material is waste products,” he said. Achoakawa, however, said that although the programme had been on-going for the past five years, there had been no form of collaboration or support from both government agencies and the private sector.

He, therefore, called on government and other stakeholders in the science sector to collaborate with it to ensure the growth of science and technology in Nigerian secondary schools. He said that because of Nigeria’s performance at the fair, the country had been invited to participate in another science fair in the Netherlands in June 2012. Achoakawa, therefore, called on more schools to participate in the next Olympiad, which will hold in February 2012, where schools that would participate in the Netherlands’ fair would be selected.

Joseph Ezeh, the director of Madonna Secondary School, expressed delight at the performance of the school. He expressed the hope that the country would reach its peak in science and technology if given adequate support.
Other Nigerian schools that participated in the fair are Government Day Secondary School, Wuse II and Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, both in the FCT.

The countries that participated include Netherlands, Paraguay, Uruguay, Turkey, Indonesia, Chile and Venezuela.

Most likely because you are steeped in it and are scared of the repercussions if the common man points his anti-corruption finger in your direction. There is Bokoharam with all threats and bombings but i will never trust anything US. They are more evil than boko.
It is only a matter of time before the US army sets up in Nigeria and engages in a scorched earth engagement with Islamic extremists in the North. They are the ones calling for the marines.

Personally, I would welcome the mighty power of the US to straighten one or two minds
Typical PDP politician, talking from both sides of his mouth. No conviction whatsoever, What exactly are you saying?

Of course you would welcome the "mighty power of the US" you know why? because you are too braindead to understand that they are the ones orchestrating this whole boko haram campaign in the first place, read my lips: the war on terror is a creation of the american intelligence organisation - they are looking for an excuse to occupy your land and FULLY APPROPRIATE YOUR OIL RESERVES THEREBY BLOCKING CHINA'S ACCESS TO THEM

every oil rich nation that is not fully under US military occupation/control is now under attack - your precious goodluck has no say in the matter any more - very soon all decisions concerning nigeria's oil reserves are going to be made by the US Africa Command - get ready for the second phase of slavery.

You were laughing at Qadaffi's demise the other day - the demise of your own country is staring you in the face and you are too dumb and blind to see it.

If you are capable of doing so - take a look at every oil rich nation which america has invaded/occupied - what is the standard of living of the people in those countries like?
nigeria - has some of the world's dumbest people!
