"In any case, why should Nigeria, with huge crude oil deposits, have to import refined products? Why should Nigerians pay for the resources so bestowed on them by God through their noses? Why is the price of products, even among importer/exporter nations higher in Nigeria? The answer lies in the crude, prebendal, corruption-ridden state system that we run in this country.Would any of the sycophants here give us a coherent response to that statement of fact, while also comparing Nigeria's GDP to that of these countries? You do not reward a failed manager with more resources to squander. Let them cut off the waste that presently exists before talking about anymore resources to replicate heaven in Nigeria. Idiots! As for those South eastern 'leaders' they were never any good. |
Used to lose phones like every six to eight months on the average, until I had to settle with 3K nokia - no more expensive phones. I usually just dash the person both the sim and get another one. Thank God for fb, after 2 months I'll get virtually all my contacts back. Have gotten over that though just that I have now graduated to losing laptops, Lol. |
To whoever wrote this, Thanks bruv. Really beautiful!Love doesn't expire, but the question should be asked was it love in the first place? Also pertinent question is love enough to sustain a marriage? |
I have been reading with dismay some of the anti-Odimegwu comments on this thread and it smacks of ignorance on your parts. If you had any idea of the decentralized nature of Igbo leadership and how every man essentially answers his father's name, you'll understand that it was no small feat that he was able to unite all Igbos in a war against a larger and more prepared force. That nationalists like the great Zik of Africa, Okigbo and Achebe abandoned their nationalist agendas and united to fight side by side Odimegwu attests to the superiority of his vision. Arguably, Biafra wld have succeeded but for the British who didn't want to see their legacy disintegrate after only seven years. It was our people that died in the war, our brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, sons and daughters, so why are you all taking panadol for our headache? He is our hero, fullstop! And when he returned from exile we gave him the title of Ikemba-The Power of the Igbo Nation. He was always reverred and history judges him kindly. So please allow us mourn in peace and quit trying to insult a memory we hold dear. |
RIP Great One!!! You'll be missed. |
Yes I do. Used to do a lot more reading when I was young and free, . Now the 'pursuit of happiness' leaves one with little time to do those things he loves doing. Ironic, isn't it? |
I see. But u never know what u might pick up from surfing here and there, even if to buttress opinions u already hold. And like I said earlier I don't agree with the theme of writing either. |
^^^wow! So u don't read, articles, newspapers, books. That's serious o. |
Y'all necessarily have to cultivate reading habits, else you might just be guilty of what the man was saying - shallow, unintelligent girls won't be taken seriously by men. No one's intelligent all by himself. It's the body of ur knowledge and experience that sets u apart. That's where reading comes in. Having said that, I think the whole man-woman thing is overrated. People have been known to be happy all by themselves. Having to constantly do self- assessments all for the purpose of attracting a male or female is really stretching it, IMO. |
@Solomon111, I'm ashamed for u o. Peeps are in diaspora for diff reasons. Some for biz and school. And it doesn't mean they won't ever go back to their country. Even if they left for economic reasons and never plan to go back does that mean they automatically forfeit their right to hope for the advancement of their native land? If they can't take part in protest, does that foreclose any other help they can render through Internet activism and financial support? Try to not have a one-track mind, for ur own sake. Who are you to be the judge of who partakes in the benefits of any change in Naija, assuming that happens in our lifetime sef? |
@ Islamrules, I share your pains, really. Sometimes hope for Naija bouys within me, most times I just don't see a better country. People keep saying when we are pushed to the wall, we'll react. These so called leaders have been pushing for 51 years, but that proverbial wall has just failed to materialize. The generations ahead of us have failed us. If we are to change Nigeria, we should stop expecting any of them to lead us. We must find within ourselves the strength to come out of the crowd and stand to lead and pray we find like-minded people to stand with us because unfortunately also, the Nigerian youth has been conditioned by society to be unabashedly materialistic. God save our country! |
E bi like say this guy smoke weed for him dream. |
@Freecocoa & Idowuogbo make una leave the girl alone nah! Una never fight finish after how many days? @OP, goodness is in the heart and it manifests in your character, beliefs, reaction to what goes on around you and in your aura. You often can't fake it for too long. Sooner or later we inevitably reveal the real content of our hearts. It's not necessarily a question of how you dress. A good person (boy/girl) just has a good heart, shikena. And we all know the fruits of a good heart. |
@OP, why do girls always like to sit back and let guys do all the talking? Pretty dumb. The guy is supposed to spend on you, talk to you, impress you, love you, etc, etc, What do the girls bring to the table aside a fine face (for those that are fine o)? Pray tell, I get peeps hitting me up on calls and chats all the time and going silent after saying hello (expecting me to gist them, i think say na u first buzz me?) or a girl just sitting lamely b4 you seeming to say 'oya gist me'. You no get mouth? I tire o! |
When the president exonerates his MEND boys from an attack which they claim to have launched, how does he expect d northern elders to condemn a more deadly and independent (not-sponsored) organised groupI beg to differ on their being without sponsors. The culpability of some of those eminent Northern leaders is as glaring as their silence on these attacks. Religion and illiteracy have always been a political tool with Northern leaders since before independence. What hasn't been helping us recently is the indecision of Jon Dumbo. He sees himself as a victim and has refused to take charge, hence his adversaries have continued to grow stronger and more daring. A few simple things he could have done to stem the tide: Sack his failed security chiefs and appoint more capable hands, instead he rewards them with national honors. Publish the names of those found culpable and put them in the court of public opprobrium. Instead he dithers. Engage the northern elite and leaders of thought in more vigorous discussions. Let them understand that it is treachery to stand by and watch while the nation burns. Declare a state of emergency in Borno, if need be. Get our police armed to the teeth in these areas. Let his voice be strong, and his hand heavy. Assist communities to become more involved in their own security, while the police coordinates. All we get instead is a feeling that Jon Dumbo is just counting his days, feeling sorry for himself, and just wants to be remembered as a 'was once president'. That's why it never pays to give leadership to someone who isn't prepared for it. 95% of the time you get nothing good out of such venture. |
"as I look up from ground following my fall from grace I solemnly ask for your forgiveness" Salisu Buhari(Former speakerand housey of rep.Nice, I see sincerity in every one of those words. Mine though is "I have no shoes" - GEJ |
^^^, You stole my post lol. I couldn't stop laffin at that one. |
@Kokoye, what is happening in Denver? |
Everyone shhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Jon Dumbo is speaking! |
Sad, isn't it? Trucks and dogs to suppress a non-violent, innocuous protest. May God save us from these retards. I'm even more saddened that only a few people turned up. I think these protests should be organized on weekends (Saturdays) to get a larger turn-out. You can't blame people if they have to work on weekdays. That may be asking a bit too much at this point since IMO the more politically aware are the working class folks. Our jobless youths seem not to have had enough. And it's not as if the media outlets don't work on weekends. |

Madonna Model Secondary School, Port Harcourt has emerged the winner at the just concluded International Science Fair competition held in Brazil. Desmond Achoakawa, the coordinator, Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology in Nigeria (SOCPROTEC), said on Wednesday in Abuja that the school emerged first out of the 35 countries that participated. Mr Achoakawa said that Madonna Model Secondary School was one of the three schools that represented Nigeria at the fair. The competition was tagged ‘MONSTRATEC’, and the countries presented more than 300 bio-digester projects, designed for decomposing organic household waste and extract gas for cooking. The coordinator said that the success of the school showed that Nigeria could actually excel in science and technology, as a relevant tool for national development. He said that the project was chosen as the best because of its relevance to the Nigerian environment and the country’s contribution to waste management and the high cost of cooking gas. “We have been trying to get the project registered at the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion and to see the possibility of having the bio-digester in many homes. “This will reduce the dependence on kerosene and cooking gas, as the bio-digester provides an alternative for cooking at a very minimal cost since the required raw material is waste products,” he said. Achoakawa, however, said that although the programme had been on-going for the past five years, there had been no form of collaboration or support from both government agencies and the private sector. He, therefore, called on government and other stakeholders in the science sector to collaborate with it to ensure the growth of science and technology in Nigerian secondary schools. He said that because of Nigeria’s performance at the fair, the country had been invited to participate in another science fair in the Netherlands in June 2012. Achoakawa, therefore, called on more schools to participate in the next Olympiad, which will hold in February 2012, where schools that would participate in the Netherlands’ fair would be selected. Joseph Ezeh, the director of Madonna Secondary School, expressed delight at the performance of the school. He expressed the hope that the country would reach its peak in science and technology if given adequate support. Other Nigerian schools that participated in the fair are Government Day Secondary School, Wuse II and Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, both in the FCT. The countries that participated include Netherlands, Paraguay, Uruguay, Turkey, Indonesia, Chile and Venezuela. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5747382-146/nigerian_school_emerges_winner_at_international.csp |
Lol, it's still not half as repulsive as the sight of a girl with pot belly and thighs the size of a hippopotamus. Girls please work on your physique and stop blaming guys saying "he don love me no more", while you're as wide as a doorway! |
No mind am, The air is no longer fresh. Now he wants to 'organize a protest against corruption'. Se im mouth like akpete |
My friend go and sit down! You are a complete slowpoke! Since when is it a bad thing if we refuse to take orders from a sycophant and apologist? You can RAVE all you like but we know what you stand for and WE WON'T BE COWED INTO HEEDING YOUR CALL so you can get the satisfaction of being a modern day freedom fighter when you have ZERO INTEGRITY! Work on yourself first. Then, maybe then, we can begin to take you seriously. Until then you're THE CLOWN of NL! |
I can just imagine the wild eyed look, whilst logging on with different user names! GrinHere's a master of the act confessing, are you really 'imagining' or you know the look? |
Lol! I keep seeing people with 11 or 25 posts talking about reputation. Low number of posts (and "knowledge" of NL) usually signifies some desperate soul with several user id's, I can just imagine the wild eyed look, whilst logging on with different user names! GrinLol, not everyone has the time to chalk up 1000 posts in two months of being on NL. But I def go thru threads, pick up the crux of arguments, and identify peoples' leanings based on their opinions. YOURS IS SOILED BEAF. So quit the cameleon act. We all know what you stand for. I suggest you quit being stubborn and start making amends. Go thru the posts on this thread. NO ONE TRUSTS YOU, except maybe the few that haven't read through enough of your posts. And who says we must organize protests just because you called for it? |
Beaf leading a fight against corruption? Now why is that so hard to believe? @ Beaf, your reputation goes ahead of you. We have been accused of being a people that forget too quickly, but we have not forgotten how at every turn you inflict our sensibilities with your blind partisanship of a clueless government. If you are really sincere about marching against corruption, convince some more credible person to bring up the suggestion. Shikena! Your reputation is soiled, and it will take months, even years of 'being on the side of the people' to have us believe in the sincerity of your actions! |
Yeah right! They will issue 'warning' and later bomb any of these places to justify their motives of occupation in Nigeria. Grin It is only a matter of time before the US army sets up in Nigeria and engages in a scorched earth engagement with Islamic extremists in the North. They are the ones calling for the marines. |
http://saharareporters.com/article/nigerian-2011-elections-opportunity-lost-nasir-ahmad-el-rufai That was how we voted. this type of thread againyeah right, would have been nice if the guy knew what his job was. unfortunately he's too dull to. and nah peeps like u put am there. anyways nah democracy. every gets a right to belabor the entire nation with their prejudices. now we all have to bear the consequences for 3-1/2 more years, if not 6-1/2 if his tenure elongation scheme to succeeds. |
No what you should be studying is who else among the crowd framed Roger Rabbit. the chicken was just a diversion. the more important question is - who has enough cedis to pay the chicken to cross the road. hmmmn. ![]() No mind the guy. How else do u remain competitive in today's market if u ignore what ur competitors are doing? |
like dogs and rats ![]() |
. Now the 'pursuit of happiness' leaves one with little time to do those things he loves doing. Ironic, isn't it?
nawa ohh, u guys should leave this fella alone and let him do his job already!!!y
