Christianity EtcRe: All Atheists, Why Did You Become An Atheist? by Martinez19(m): 3:50am On Feb 10, 2018
Seun:
It happened at a time when I had many problems in my life and I decided to skip sunday fellowship because frankly, the fellowship hadn't done anything whatsoever to help me with my problems. Over the next week, I tried to examine the impact of my personal relationship with God on my life and I could only conclude that it had a negative impact on my life. If I had relied on my own understanding to make decisions, instead of doing things I thought God wanted me to do, my life would have been so much better. So I told my roommates that I'd be an interim atheist until I got some strong evidence of the existence of God and the truth of the bible. I'd no longer give Christianity the benefit of doubt.

(I could do that because in my quest to be a better Christian, I learnt exactly how the bible was put together, which was a mess. I'd had to think about the contradictions in the bible. I'd tried to convert a muslim who was able to defend the flaws of Islam as well as I could defend the flaws of Christianity, which made me realize that the only reason I was a Christian was by choice, due to being born into it. My quest to witness the pentecostal promise of signs and wonders had been fruitless. Even speaking in tongues had turned out to be not supernatural at all)

As an atheist, I started the process of rethinking my life, and everything now made so much more sense. All those 'difficult questions' I used to struggle with as a Christian who actually read the bible and tried to make sense of it were easily answered thus: "because there's no God".
@ interim atheist

Christianity EtcRe: God Doesn't Make Sense! by Martinez19(m): 10:16pm On Feb 09, 2018
Bennyann, when God doesn't make sense it should lead you to be sceptical instead you are trying by all means to attach sense to something that has no sense.

Keep lying.
You do have a point but he said John spends big and borrows big. For someone like John to run out of cash, it's either he spends REALLY big or Money doesn't come until month end.

Can you please quote where the narrator says "this is proof that this is the location of Eden"

I have already quoted where he said in 2:39 - "He admits his case isn't rock solid but it is plausible" and in 2:49 - "So in theory"

Those are his own words

The video is not assertive

It seems you have a problem listening and understanding

Hopefullandlord, budaatum, Martinez19 and dalaman please watch the video. The narrator does not say authoritatively that is the location of Eden. It is all a bloody theory but this dude just wants to please his emotions and delusion by twisting the words of the narrator
lol. I know him very well. He is dubious and never straight forward.

EducationUnemployment, The Foolishness Of Nigerian Youths And Wickedness Of Politicians. by Martinez19(op): 3:22pm On Feb 08, 2018
Unemployment is a big issue here in Nigeria. The frustration and wastage of our youths is alarming. The unemployment issue is due to the greed of our politicians, those "in high positions" eg. Lecturers, Union leaders etc. and the citizens themselves.

Why should a first class engineering graduate in a sane country work in the bank, start a business just to get by or start a dry cleaning business? It happens here in Nigeria. Is this what we want? Is this right? What responsible government ignores creating jobs and various organisations to provide a platform for graduates and youths to display their talents and expertise they have acquired in school? Whether we like it or not, the government is supposed to be the major player is job creation. After that we can talk of business minded individuals.

Instead of youths to rebel, protest and physically harm these leaders, who loot and descend rot on this country, you see them foolishly joining the band wagon and shouting "go learn a skill," "youths should have entrepreneurship skills," etc. like seriously? Do you think that is the solution? Do you think everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur? Imagine if Albert Einstein was a Nigerian and he was advised to take up entrepreneurship after school - - - - do you see how misplaced this is? Imagine if a Bobby Fischer was asked to look for "something" to start doing? Foolish youths!

I get angry when people open their mouths and say "start a business", "start something no matter how small " etc. nonsense, is this what you people have become? People are now satisfied and see it as a norm to dabble into petty low paying trades to get by after and instead of seeing something wrong, they say "god bless my hustle" . They even delude themselves thinking God will elevate them---- God wey no exist. People like this are the cause of their problems. Why not stand up to your leaders and take things into your own hands instead of drowning in the foolishness of "it is well, it's in God's hands", "God will make a way", "God bless my hustle", etc. stay there be doing god while your leaders bleeped the hell out of you and your descendants' destiny. Don't mind those saying "start something", "create a job" as if it's something you can pick our of the pocket like that.

Situation in this country should not make us look down on education, education is important and having a first class is a honourable thing. Don't mind those illiterate who later became rich via trading tell you that education is a waste of time because they think money is everything or just to feel better about themselves meanwhile they wish they had education. Don't mind the 3rd class graduates who tell you "who first class epp?", they are jealous and trying to make themselves feel better. They are even happy when first class graduates are jobless. Education and excellent is important Jare. Youths abeg wake up and fight for a better Nigeria.

Yeah. Sleeping or being in a state of inactivity in one reality to function in another. This is what happened to Christ for the three days He was in a tomb.

To deal with the underworld, He hibernated in the flesh. To us, He was dead, but He wasn't really dead.

We don't die. Being inactive in one reality doesn't mean we are not in another.

Christianity EtcRe: Why So Many Atheists On Nairaland Forum? by Martinez19(m): 1:18pm On Feb 08, 2018

No its not

what's laughable is not realising how awful Conservapedia is, Wikipedia is a lot more neutral about its articles while Conservapedia already has a goal in mind; this makes a lot of difference when you cycle between both and see how biased one is over the other; Conservapedia blames Liberals, atheists, non Christians for everything bad while Christianity is whitewashed as possible, all their mods are conservative Christians who ban anyone attempting to bring some neutrality and sense into the site

I'm not telling you to trust Wikipedia completely, its not infallible but the difference is very clear and only an ignorant person would bring it up

Dunno about you but i got "Page not found" when I clicked the link

BTW I remember my argument with faxole is about morality, I and him never debated suicide; he debated it with Martinez19 NOT me and I'm not Martinez19
I observed that Wikipedia is very neutral as possible.

Isn't it obvious enoughhuh Hv u really thought abt d beginning of all thingshuh Do u really mean u haven't seen things happen in the name of God that will naturally never happenhuh
I have thought of it. My conclusion is that I don't know if there is a God or not. There might be, there might not be. Nothing in the universe (be it the moon, stars, mountains, oceans) tells me that God exists AND his name is yahweh, he wants us to worship him, he sent his son to die for us. When I look up, I see just sky grin.

How humans came to conclude that God exists and his name is yahweh, he sent his son to died for us, he wants us to obey him, he wanted people to obey the old testament laws then and the new testament laws today etc. is beyond me. Can you give an irrefutable proof of the existence of yahweh?

You've been trying to label me with a religion.

I don't have any religion. For example, there are certain things in Islam and Bhuddism I can defend till my last breath, but that doesn't make me a Muslim or Bhuddist either.

I have no religion, but the only thing I have allegiance to is the Truth.

The problem with religion is that it's a mixture of Truth with lies and errors...and I've moved on from that lower level of the pyramid to seek enlightenment...
But you believe that things written in the bible are true?

The funny thing is, to someone who has a closed mind, the lost city of Atlantis for example would be a fictional tale about 30 years ago...not until scientists recently discovered some ruins of Atlantis under the Ocean...

Now the same set of people think that the Garden of Eden is fictional...very funny set of people I must say...
