This is a serious thread, it's fitting that victims of HIV have a support group where they can share useful information, exhort and admonish each other where necessary. Na so. You didn't mention or care about the emotional and mental abuse emmaodet's aunt subjected her husband to instead you focused on the slap and made the women the victim. This is typical female mindset — no matter what, they are the victim and it is never their fault.

I don't condone the slap but the woman is the primary abuser here.

Edit : As emmaodet pointed out, you are being hypocritical by calling him weak for typing he would leave his relationship once it gets toxic whereas you suggest his aunt leave a relationship you deemed abusive and toxic.

You did the right thing. Relationship is supposed to be two-sided, once it becomes one-sided then the relationship isn't worth it. No love is better than one-sided love. As a man, if you see that your girlfriend is misbehaving and isn't putting efforts into making the relationship work, discard her as soon as possible.
