Politics › Re: "The Satanic Trinity Of El-Rufai, His Son And His Wife" By Reno Omokri by martowskin1(m): 11:56am On Apr 28, 2020 |
isthatso: I finally read it....My 1st instinct not to read it was right! Reno Kust like FFK is not worth reading. But at least you can the the intellectual pedigree in an FFK piece, even though he always twists it for his purposes. This Reno piece could have been written by a Nairalander such was the lack of intellectual capacity on display in the write-up.
In the end it was just another ibo v Hausa mini treatise. The fact is this: the Ibos had it all post independence. The had just discovered oil, they had caught up with the west educationally, they were represented in the civil service and commerce. The Hausas never wanted to be part of Nigeria. The Ibo misadventure, expansionist tendencies and quest for domination led them to a coup in 1966. The negative repercussions of which every Nigerian is feeling today, the negative repercussions of which every African is feeling today by extension. For the Ibos to cry victim is a bit rich. If ElRufai or the north have distrust of the Ibos it is IMHO natural.
Ibos should remmember one thing, considering the societal traditional leadership structure of the North, the massacre of their revered leaders Balewa and Sardauna cannot be expected to be forgotten. It is as deep a psychological scar as the civil war is on the Ibos. It is on record that the counter coup of the North was intended as a secession of the North from Nigeria, it was the British who convinced them otherwise.
Finally the Ibos should always remmember that the oil was in their region, they had financial control over the proceeds as all regions had over their resources. It is their failed misadventure that turned them and the rest of southern Nigeria into a people that today go cap in hand to beg the north for monies earned in the south. It is the misadventure of the Ibo man that halted the North’s rapid quest to develop its own resources and instead share free money from the south. If there was no coup, the north would not have had the power to change the constitution despite their population and claim southern resources for themselves.
Ibos tried to dominate everyone else, they failed, we are all paying the price.....the last people to talk of victimization are Ibos!
Nigeria is a fraud, Awo was right after all... it is a mere geographical expression. The three major groupings have nothing in common. Our ways are not each other’s ways. But who put us in a position where we are trapped in this contraption? The Ibos! The British left a reasonably fair constitution where every region had autonomy over its affairs and could not be changed without approval of 2 of the 3 regions. Never forget who put the north in power over your affairs....it was your forefathers!!!!
There is nothing more nauseating than Ibos complaining of their lot in Nigeria. Even the backwardness of the north is as a result of the Ibo misadventure/ miscalculation of 1966. Prior to that the North was in a race to develop its resources and people to catch up with the autonomous developing south. I have one question for u.... Kaduna nzeogwu is from where? |

No one is supporting recklessness at this time but as much as you want us to be safe from Covid-19, also make plan to keep them safe from hunger virus, both kill equally. Hunger have been in Nigeria for a long time, it never started now, is surprising we are all shouting hunger hunger hunger , like it started today.... Let them go out, guess what, ur senator, ur governors, won't step their feet outside,. That mechanic will still die of covid19 why ur leaders bury them. PHIPEX: So how many of your neighbours have you bothered to check how they are surviving this period. It's easy to push for a lockdown when you are comfortable at home. A hungry and angry Nigerian does not fear Covid-19, he needs food to think straight. In the absence of any palliative, continuing the lockdown becomes criminal. When they start burying their parents and children, they will fear covid19, all an average Nigerian think about is his stomach and nothing else.... Women that openly preach this nonsense have suffered much emotional abuse from their husbands & have accepted being a doormat as a coping mechanism. Sad. You deserve better. U see one problem with our generation, is that we look for standard too much. When it come to marriage, we all have what we can take and what we cant take. There is no standard and book to follow, cheating means nothing to her and that is alright. If the next woman said she can't take cheating, is also OK. Some men out there take some stuff from their wife another man can't take. There are some men that can take slap from their wife and some men, that marriage is over. Create ur own formula, create ur own pattern, create ur own limit and live by it. Until our generation understand that every malam with his own kettle, our marriage will always fail |

The ones graduating with the best result are between those age group except in some very small cases. The old ones is understandable but nowadays d people in the uni are just too young. I am a secondary school teacher and I av lot of students in jss 1 that are between the age of 8 and 9 and they are very dull compared to their classmate of age 12 or 13. Nowadays parent tend to rush their children.my younger sister is 15 in ss2 and she sat 4 jamb dis year. She got 181 and if she passed waec, she will be in 100l next year. I had to tell my mum to let her write another jamb next year so dat she can be more matured. My kid bro is 18, took jamb scored 295 Last year, entered uni this year. His maturity is already helping him. He said his target is to be the best graduating student. He has written three scholarship exams this year, he said he plans to get at least two scholarship ... To stop my parents support. The young man spent 1year in workshop learning how to repair oil well head valve, and other petroleum machines... At 18 he has visited over 7 oil well location across Nigeria. And later got admission to study petroleum engineering, when I look at him I just smile because the young man is position for greatness already. But those his class mate who came in at 16yrs can't match his maturity and level of exposure. This recent parents needs to be reoriented they are messing up this kids real time |

Do u think if the virus cases explode they can remain in their store and sell? Many of them will even die selling their product. What is difficult for people to understand. Let's go 2 to 3wks lockdown. Once we can flatten the curve, then we return. With this lock down period. Those already affected will show symptoms in their homes without affecting the general public. Once we can get those infected ... Then we return back to business. The virus don't spread, we are the one spreading it. So if we stop moving, virus stop spreading... Then we isolate those already affected. This was how China was able to beat it, saving benjin and Shanghai from major hit. Look at america and Europe trying to be civil and liberal, how market.
