jumper524: Very few countries sells petroleum cheaper than Nigeria. Subsidies gas been completely revoked and it sells this low. We need to take advantage and stop complaining..
Check ur minimum wage to those country u are looking at
36STATES: Both chairman and the executive secretary are from the north. The south got only floor members with absolutely no powers to influence anything.
Buhari has really thought southerners a lesson in nepotism they will never forget.
A man in Kano went to a foodseller. He had not eaten in 3 days. He begged the seller for food on credit.
The foodseller said no because he already gave food to too many people on credit.
The man sat down beside the foodseller’s shop as he had nowhere else to go.
The foodseller told him he’s very sorry and he would like to help but too many people in the neighbourhood have collected food on credit and his business is sinking.
The man sat there and said nothing.
As time went on, other people came into the shop to buy foodstuff and went out- they noticed the man at the door sitting there sleeping. But nobody bothered.
Until one man came later in the day and asked the foodseller: “who is the man sitting at your door?” “Why is he there?”
Then the foodseller said “oh it’s a man who says he has not eaten for 3 days and he wants to collect food on credit but I could not give him because my business is struggling from all the credit I have already given out”.
Then the other man said: “How much is the food he wants?”
The food seller said “It’s a few cups of garri, rice and beans. Everything may be 2,000 naira”.
The other man said “Alright pack everything he wants and more. I would pay for it. Let him go home to his family and eat”.
The foodseller packed all the food and went outside to tell the man with joy that someone has paid for his food.
He saw the man still sleeping. He tapped him to wake him up, he didn’t respond. Tapped him again, nothing.
The man had died. He died sitting and waiting for help.
This happened just few days ago in Badawa, Kano. Some people who live in that area know this story.
The man was dead all along while people were coming in and out of the shop thinking he was sleeping.
He died hopeless. He died helpless. He died a man who his country failed.
Kano has 17 million people. Less than 200,000 people got any form of palliative from the government.
Many people got hungry. Many people died in their houses. Many people starved to death from a govt that locked them in and gave no food.
An evil clueless thoughtless leadership.
If you know anyone in this period who is hungry around you and you can afford a little food or money to give him/her, please do.
Many people are walking the streets with an empty stomach, a sorry face and are dead within. It’s only a matter of time before they physically die.
Don’t be the one who walks into a store and doesn’t bother to ask about the beggar at the door.
We all have our problems yes, But our little curiosity may save a life.
Be the one who asks “who is that person sitting there?” Be the one who helps. And be the one who saves a life.
DrOlufunmilayo
Am very sure he voted for the same useless government
Kinematics: I'm not oblivious of all this fact. However I'm vexed at the ibos on the way they parade themselves as if we are nothing without aligning with them. Other tribes dont make us feel that way.
Yes the Ibos stood by Jonathan, but we all know that's because they were benefiting from him. If they weren't we know what it would have been. Let's face the fact!
What did the Igbo's benefited from GEJ, name one thing?
U guys always make this statement.... List it let's see.
The only thing that would have been useful to Igbo's , GEJ didn't do it...
Second Niger bridge was not done. No university was created.... GEJ was supported because the SE saw them as one of their own...
Owerri was shut down when GEJ won that election, jubilation left and right, funny enough his own people couldn't celebrate him.
Tell me what have the Igbo's benefited from democracy since 1999 absolutely nothing.... So talking about benefit they are just a region who run them selves by them selves..
The only international airport was rotten to core b4 buhari considered them, GEJ couldn't even help them do it despite all the support.
PMB who they supported less, I can tell u is even do more for them now, I just hope ndigbo see things as it is and stopp sentimental politics....
Do it like the Yoruba's move to where pays u better not my brother politics
Kinematics: Atleast they do it with respect of our existence as a people. The Ibo man do it without regard or respect of who we are. For the Ibos the SS does not exist, infact left for the ibos we would be cut out from the face of the earth. Hardly will you see a yoruba or hausa tag us as "minority" but the ibo is always the first to do that.
The hausa or yoruba man does not interfere in our discussions, but the ibo man is always the first to tell us that we are fools that know not our origin. The ibo man is the first to trample on our existence just to make himself look big. Nigeria is messed up we know, but the other tribes atleast give us some respect, not abusing us everyday on nairaland. But the ibos are always the ones trying to attach us to themselves and make the world believe we never existed.
You dont see no person from the SS open a thread to Bring down the idea of Biafra, but once SS people talk about Niger Delta Republic the ibos will begin to write all sorts of lies and curses. You'll hear them say there is nothing like ND, theres nothing like SS, all the tribes in the SS will not agree, ND will be a chaos, no the ibo speaking parts of SS will not join ND, SS people dont know their history and origin, they are all fools, ijaw will dominate, ibibio or urhobo will dominate, an Edo man has nothing in common with a Cross Riverian bla bla bla.
U call them ur problem but they were the only one who stood behind ur brother when people called him names, dullard, drunkard , bad luck , did protest upon protest just to label him evil....... How many igbo men did u see fighting against him then.
They are opressing u right, go to PTI in warri, how many Igbo men did u see working there, NNpc, refinery, Nigeria gas in warri, how many Igbo men did u see work in there...
Go to SE, did u see ur oil money there?
Just because u scared of facing ur real oppressor doesn't mean u should call ur only ally, the only one who always stood beside u as ur problem.
The Igbo's should focus on their SE and let ND be, the union won't work just like nigeria.
Blackking98: I think the ijaws, ibibios, urhobo, isoko, ogoni, etc to sit down and discuss our future, not igbos telling us we're part of biafra until we referendum or start our own movement or igbos telling us the Niger Delta will not work because of this and that , what rubbish?
The Igbo's are not ur problem bro.... U need to study ur history and realise the Igbo's have always been like brothers to the NDs.
The first coup 1966 was planned by Kaduna nzeogwu. Till this date Nigerians call him Igbo, but he is from igbuzor in delta.
The Igbo's never rejected him, they accepted him as thier son and even celebrate his bravery for trying to set things right even when he failed.
Ojukwu went further to release him from prison and make sure he was not killed. He saw him like his brother.
Ojukwu second in command was from akwa ibom or cross river.
During the war, the bifrans soldiers were all from SE and SS.... Even in recent politics.
When GEJ won his first election, the street of owerri was locked down, celebration left and right, GEJ major support was from SE...
They have always been a good understanding between both region even when the SW choose to fight for their own a interest.
When omoagege was made VSP, Igbo guys were happy, at least let them test it, they have tried....
We see our selves as brothers, we listen to each other.
Take it from me, the only region that have ur back from the onset is from SE, what others see is ur oil and as the oil is fading gradually, u have no use for them.
Ojukwu refuse to sign deal with the Russians during the war so that what shell and other companies are doing in ND today won't happen.
Go and read the agreement of aburi accord in gahana, look at ojukwu terms, simple and clear, if Gowon didn't go against the agreement, ND would have been blossoming today.
His points were let every region handle their wealth, let them have autonomous control over their resources, Gowon agreed , came back to Nigeria and did opposite.
Today look at ND, where is the value of oil, no where to be found..... Just poor like other states with no oil....
Bro who is ur enemy, don't be too quick to make ur only friend ur enemy, because no one got ur back.....
ND in Biafra won't work, have said it over and over again, let them be on their own, let them live with their oil.
Let bifra work with oil in abia and IMO, combine with their industriousness... Its OK for them
Blackking98: Delta igbos and rivers igbos will be In Biafra, the rest of us will be in ND republic, an ijaw man can't intimidate an ibibio man because they have almost equall numbers, an urhobo man can't intimidate a bini man cus they have almost the same numbers, etc. There will be checks and balances, everyone has oil and has sea access to start with so what else are you going to oppress other ethnicities for?
That was what the founding fathers of Nigeria thought as well, check and balance.
But history has proved them wrong.... But like I always said, everyone have their choice to be where they want to be.... No one should force any union on anyone.
Kinematics: This is your most sensible comment so far. However you tend to deviate and exude arrogance sometimes(which we from the SS has seen as the hallmark of a Biafran/ipob). Stick with write up like this then I'll take you serious.
The gospel truth is Biafra will be useless without the SS. That's why they fight everyday here to attach SS to their fantasy Biafra.
Why do u think Biafra will be useless without SS... Give ur reasons....
Kinematics: The bolded explains your hatred/jealousy for the entity called Niger Delta. It has come to stay whether you like it or not. Face your Biafra/iboland. The ND will be fine without your likes.
No hatred bro, am partly delta as well, I grew up in the street of warri, I love them die... Biafra or not, delta is my home for life.
But am just saying things as it is. Delta state as a single state, u need to see the tribal card played during elections, minority this, majority that.
The itsekiri and ijaw don't look eye to eye.
Even udu urhobo will tell u they are different from ughelli urhobo ..
We have not talked about isoko, delta Igbo.... The tug of war in that small delta no be joke, then add river state to it, ikwere, ogoni, where will I start mentioning from.
This are part of the reason Nigeria is not working, so many different interest.
Am sorry I might have said it the wrong way, but I meant no hate bro.... The ND are my brothers and will always be....
But the earlier we start facing reality we won't go any where, Biafra won't pay the ND, it will be another mini Nigeria.
The truth, ND as a country will even be difficult, the tribal division in ND is over whelming.
Arrewa: then tell Nnamdi kanu to remove them from his map!!
Why will he add them on Biafra map at the first place??
Those guys don reject una tire yet una no wan let go!!
If they open thread to counter your lies you'll start wailing and calling them Afonjas!
We all know you're after their oil...
Which oil are u talking about?
We have all seen how useless it came to be.
Knowledge base economy is what people are clamouring for and not natural resources base.
I personally don't even want the niger delta to join biafra, it shouldnt be part of Biafra.
The Niger delta is currently a confuse entity of its own.... Adding them them to biafra is like creating another mini Nigeria which everyone is running from
DeraNwamazi: I was going to say something but seeing the comments you guys have made, it's obvious you guys still have a very long way to go. If you think a white man is going to do anything that a black man will benefit from without causing greater damage to him, then you need to start taking your history lessons seriously.
What have u black man done for ur fellow black to benefit them without causing damage.
dalass: Okay... what do you want people to do?. To continue to stay at home while hungry abi?
The governor, Buhari and others like them should talk to themselves to stop gallivanting all over the world while they bring in all these viruses like the Covid-19 instead of warning legit businesses and hustlers from eating their daily bread.
No body is stopping them, they can come out as thy want.... In this life, we all take responsibility for our action.
Lockdown has been eased, some will go out, some won't, its all base on ur desecration.
But what ever ur choices are, best know that there is consequences, and if u like blame the government for what ever reason best know to u.
It doesn't change the fact that the consequences is urs to bear
Adanairaland: What do you suggest the government do then?
They know what to do, the are running from it. This is not the year of profit making or booming economy, this is the year of staying alive, if u can stay alive this year, then u are profitable.
They should focus on making the lock down easy, by providing palliatives for people, this idiots can create wards in almost all street in this country but can't share foods to those wards.
We can't fight the virus by going out, but we can fight the virus and hunger same time if they are ready to support people.
But no, they are about to push everyone outside to face death, and them with their family will be indoors ... They wont step their feet outside during this period.
Funny enough the poor ones who are suppose to protest to get palliatives are protesting to free lockdown.
The cure of hunger is garri, what is the cure of covid 19....
Angelfrost: No it won't... You and your dumb Western World should give it a rest!!!
Besides, ease of lock down is not compulsory! Everyone comfortable should stay put indoors and keep isolating till eternity!!! Nor be by force to go out.
toluleke: can you be positive .. you now add God bless you after your negativity. How will people survive 80% of Nigerians are daily earners and private worker the country that is not working hunger kill fast than covid 19 before you know there will be protest surely our incompetent officers will surely cause casualties. Which is better
Be positive for what, we talking about reality here u are talking about being positive, there is nothing like mindset when it comes to this virus.
U all just keep giving excuse to relax the lock down like government is punishing u guys. See this is what will happen and what is already happening.
The elites and won't come out, they will be indoors and the stubborn poor ones crying to go out will be buried daily, that is what is about to happen.
The virus is here and is not going out anytime soon... We are about to get into deep shit.
Instead of protesting for palliative for the people , we are protesting to go out .. Like we are immunie to the virus.
Godwin616: That's right. We are all in it together. Every section of the country is suffering from the consequences of years of misrule by our past leaders especially from the military regime to date. The wealth of the nation is being shared among few (less than 10%) , leaving large percentage of the population to scamper for the left over. Corruption is our greatest enemy and not the tribal or religion differences. If we are fortunate to get a leader that gets it right, nobody will remember our ethnic and religion differences again. Take football as an example, when Nigeria is playing well and wining ,everyone is happy and we give them the support .So likewise it is, when it turns the other way. We don't need a politician as leader. What we need is a God fearing servant, selfless, sound, visionary and result oriented. He may be as blunt as Trump, we don't care. Whatever part of the country he comes from does not matter as long he has the feelings of the masses in his heart and sees Nigeria as a project that he must deliver. Let's learn to forgive one another and and move on. We need to unite to fight the common enemy called corruption and bad leadership the same way we are uniting to fight Corona Virus now.
legba1: Uf your forebearers had done the "little" good that "almighty awolowo" had done in/for/with his region... you lots won't be flocking and trouping down southwest like you been doing From time immemorial...
Emotional as usual, the issue is about federalism and inclusive government.
For ur information, am from SS, I schooled in IMO and currently working at Oyo state. Guess what I noticed, for a region that went through 3yrs war and destruction and a region that saw no war. .. They are not better in any form.
One thing I realise is, we are all suffering be u SS, SE, SW.... But one group keep living in denial .... Acting like all is well with them.... But they are far from well
ekestic1976: It didn't start today, Bro. Was Dr Ekwueme not Vice President before now? Was Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe not "President" when the SEEDS of the present lopsidedness were sown? Perhaps you were too young to know (but you may ask) the person who ABOLISHED the Regions and introduced a UNITARY government in Nigeria. Even when Awolowo was writing about TRUE FEDERALISM as far back as 1947, some people were forming African nationalist, even when they couldn't carry through their Free Education policy in their Region in1953. Ask questions about Nigeria, but not from Marginalisation mouthers who only tell the story as it suits them!
Even at aburi accord where ojukwu stated all he wanted which was true federalism, where every region control their resources, equal recruitment into military. Ur almighty awolowo didn't tell Gowon that was the right thing to do.
We are all hypocrite in this nation, from the onset. Nigeria is a failed project let's keep deceiving our selves
PHIPEX: Lockdown is good but it should be a short term solution and not till infinity especially when Nigeria is not making it's own effort in finding a vaccine. You can't completely lockdown your citizens without a palliative and keep waiting for whenever the West finds you a vaccine. What has the govt given to be a condition to ease the lockdown? none so we dont even know what to hope for. Is it till the last person is cured or vaccine is found?.
They are waiting for the West to profer a solution and we copy and paste in Nigeria. If a public safety measure has no human face it becomes wickedness to the poor.
Brother I hope u are seeing the figures, I guess u still want them to lift up lockdown
VillageHead: it's certainly because the boy is still jobless and coming back to meet him clearly suggested he needed more money so to ward him off, he handed the boy over to government to be quarantined.
would he had treated him such if he came back with the latest Mercedes jeep and wads of minty and crispy notes of Naira to spend?
Lazy youths, this is ur history, watch and learn. Nzeogwu never planned an ethnic coup, it was a coup against corruption of our leaders, the same corruption we are facing today. Namadi azikiwe and ironsi was just lucky to escape his sword.
The instigator of the coup was Igbo and the stopper was also Igbo, even conel ojukwu was the governor of Easter region also stopped him from his end and lazy youths if today say its an ethnic coup.
Nzegwu is the kind of youth we need today, a young man with courage and determination, he saw how the leaders where not caring about the people. Backyard deals with international firms, same things happening today, he courageous enough to fight back, but things didn't went his way as planned. Today youths call him name after name, same youth who worship their oppressors and beg for give away on social media. Youths with no pedigree
Now the north retaliated. Is that not enough, u started killing SE unarmed citizens, causing problems and u expect them to still believe in one Nigeria.
At aburi acord, ojukwu who was a smart dude, was very prepaid, he listed all he wanted which is exactly as true federalism, pure restructuring, where everyone have control over their resources... Same thing after over 40yrs we are all crying for.
Ojukwu never wanted war, Gowon accepted the demand in aburi accord, came back to Nigeria and did a total different thing from the agreement.... And attack the SE with no army, no airforce, no military for battle...
With all this youth of today still thinks SE is the problem of Nigerian, we keep living in denial, we know where the problem is, but everyone is acting like they don't.
Let me mark it here..... Until SW and SE work together we are going no where...
If only awolowo have raised his own movement of taking the oduduwa nation out of Nigerian union, Gowon won't have the mind of fighting two front...
