Good morning. I took my aunt to the German embassy on Monday for interview, after the interview she was asked to get a courier envelope and submit. Does it mean she would be granted visa? If she would be granted, how long would it take before we get a response? Please note the following.

- She's 72 Years old

- She only speaks igbo

- she applied for a short term visa to visit her son who is a German citizen.

Thanks

Thanks. I went to DHL head office yesterday and got it for #1500. But rather than an envelope I was given a DHL bag addressed from the German embassy to me and a receipt. I hope that also counts as the envelope.

Please I saw on the checklist that for someone visiting a family member, the birth certificate of the family member and the birth certificate of the applicant. But in this case, my uncle's mother who is the applicant doesn't have a birth certificate while her son who she's visiting also doesn't have. He uses age declaration even in Germany where he's a citizen. My uncle only sent his age declaration which he says he has been using even in Germany. Please would the affidavit be accepted because the birth certificate seems impossible to get now.

blackberlin:
Since it's a short-term visit, it's as easy as going there with the letter of invitation sent by your brother along with a prepaid envelope (DHL/ UPS) containing the vital documents requested for.

As for her illiteracy, she might be asked for an illiterate jurat. So you need to have that in mind.

If you already have the right documents, then it's a piecse of cake. Only basic questions will be asked. . .
Thank you. Please what's an illiterate jurat?
TravelAppointment At German Embassy (help ) by Marvin67(op): 3:32am On Jun 14, 2017
My aunt has an appointment at the German embassy on Monday, and I'm to go with her as she is an old woman who speaks and understands only igbo. Please I need guide from people here who have experience in that area. I need to know what documents to go with and what to expect over there. Please note the following.

- She has applied for a visa to visit her son.

- Its a short term visa (90 days)

- Her son is a German citizen.

Please I'd appreciate any response. Thank you.

Well said. I've always maintained that Dankwanbo is the man in 2019. He's fresh (compared to the rest) and so far he aappears stainless. A Dankwanbo/Peter Obi ticket would do wonders for pdp

PoliticsRe: Benjamin Uwajumogu Gets Certificate Of Return From INEC(Pix) by Marvin67: 10:33pm On Aug 06, 2016
Whether he's a PDP Man or an APC Man makes no difference. They're all the same caliber of people putting on different clothes. Shame on any Nigerian youth who comes online to praise APC or PDP, such set of youths are the biggest fools in Nigeria.

As much as I don't give a hoot about APC or PDP, this new senator is a joke. He's a first time senator who wouldn't get any position. Not a juicy one and definitely not DSP. Ekwerenmadu has the backing of 99% of SS and SE senators. The same way Saraki has 99% NC senators backing him.
PoliticsRe: President Buhari Has Failed Nigeria, But PDP Needs Restructuring by Marvin67: 1:14pm On Aug 06, 2016
@barcanista. Ur topic should read APC has failed us, because it is both president buhari and APC that failed.

Enough of all these all write and no work. What steps have you taken to make Nigeria a better place. Rather than type all these, join a fresh party like YDP nd add ur vigor to make the party get into aso rock. Or join PDP since it already has a structure and do ur bit to attract likeminds into the party and change its structure.
Stop complaining bro. Take action.
PoliticsRe: Ize-iyamu Visits Prince Of Benin, Ehenede by Marvin67: 10:59am On Jul 28, 2016
If you ask me, I think Iyamu would win this election. That guy has massive popularity in Edo. Obaseki is paper weight and Oshomole during his second term became very arrogant towards the people.

The weight of Iyamu was instrumental in making Oshomole governor. Iyamu's weight is massive.
PoliticsRe: Sheriff, Metuh To Stop PDP Convention by Marvin67: 7:39pm On Jul 27, 2016
I wonder what people are celebrating here. This clown called Sheriff doesn't get it. Didn't he know his tenure would expire in 2018 before he picked the form to contest for chairman at the last aborted convention. ?
The court has already proclaimed Makarffi as the lawful chairman of the party and Makarfi is calling this convention. Even the abracadabra Justice okon can't stop this convention from holding.
PoliticsRe: Get Ready To Vacate Seat For APC Candiate, Okorocha Tells Ekweremadu by Marvin67: 8:03pm On Jul 25, 2016
Easier said than done. It is not the APC's call to decide the deputy Senate president. It is the call of the entire Senate comprising both APC and PDP. APC doesn't have the numbers to impeach ekwerenmadu. And ekwerenmadu has the support of all other south east senator. What ekwerenmadu has done for his community, I doubt if the senators of most of the people commenting here has done for them.

I like the balance of APC and PDP in the Senate. It is good for for checkmating the criminal activities of senators from both parties

The only people who want ekwerenmadu removed and replaced with an APC senator are the blind supporters who love APC more than they love Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Letter To Barcanista On Ribadu's Defection To Apc by Marvin67(op): 10:23pm On Jul 24, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
I feel honored by this open letter and I appreciate you in no small way.

However, I think you misconstrued my position o. Ribadu with respect to being an asset.

RIBADU may not be a politician with electoral clout(just like Udom Emmanuel, Fashola, Ambode etc), but he is one person/candidate that can be a sell for any party that presents him for election due to his 21st century mindset and transparent nature.

As a policeman, Ribadu was not engrossed in any controversy except his battle against corrupt elite and officers. Ribadu's love for his country was shown when he damned his party ACN to serve as Chairman of an investigative committee on petroleum industry during the tenure of Jonathan without taking a SINGLE KOBO as sitting allowance so as not to soil his name, and his report indicted even the serving minister of Petroleum Resources. In other words, he served without fear or favor.

Whether he will make a good President or not is subjective but his time as EFCC boss brought about the best brains including current Chairman Magu to serve in the agency. Ribadu along with Heroine Akunyili were the best resources during Obj era.

He lost Adamawa because PDP splitted into THREE camps, protest votes and Buhari breeze.

Personally, I think he left because PDP is yet to put their house in order though I'd have wished he stayed and help build the party. Nobody can hold it against Ribadu.

As for Dankwambo, apart from hearing his name I can't say much about him but I know he is with the umbrella.

We are united brother but Ribadu's exit is painful to the marrow.
Brother. I understand your point. I'm just saying a man like Ribadu would need a party with a massive structure before in order to win an election as he's just like those men you mentioned. As things stand presently, PDP doesn't have that structure in the north so fielding a Ribadu in any election would be a misfire for PDP. PDP needs a grassroots politician from the north which Ribadu is not. Ribadu would surely get the votes of the elites in the society but against a northern candidate from the APC, Ribadu would fail.

What PDP needs to do is to decide if they're going with Dankwanbo in 2019 and start marketing him now. Trust me would be easier to sell to the illiterate north than Ribadu as Dankwabo has achieved as governor while Ribadu is seen as an elite in the north.

On the other hand PDP can go for a candidate that has a structure on ground like kwankwanso. They can bring him back to the party.

Either ways, PDP gains.

One love bro. I'd keep following your posts and threads.
PoliticsLetter To Barcanista On Ribadu's Defection To Apc by Marvin67(op): 6:22pm On Jul 24, 2016
Dear Tonyebarcanista

I must confess that I follow your commnets and update on nairaland eventhough I hardly comment on political issues as I consider it a waste of time for youths of this country to be fighting each other online for the sake of any political party. However a recent quote by you where you described Ribadu as an asset to PDP has made me decide to write to you and bring the following points to your notice.

First, if a person isnt loyal to you that person cannot be an asset to you. Ribadu was not loyal to PDP, if he was he wouldn't have jumped ship so soon after joining the party less than 3 years ago.
Permit me to ask you what Ribadu's contribution to PDP in terms of votes in numbers during the last election was. The man couldn't even deliver his local government. Meanwhile there's Dankwanbo (governor of gombe state) who despite the hurricane APC in the north was able to hold down Gombe for PDP, and is still doing well as governor of the state. That's the man who should be described as an asset. If PDP needs a president from the north, they should looks towards Dankwanbo, who has been loyal even through the party's darkest moments.
Finally, I doubt if Ribadu would make a good president. Ribadu to me would be another Buhari who would spend all his time fighting his political enemies while the nation suffers.

My brother. If your party would win in 2019 , it would be because of the political strength of it's candidate. If PDP needs a journey man, they should throw thier presidential ticket to Kwankwanso. If they need a loyal party man it should be Dankwanbo. Let Ribadu stay in APC where his loyalty lies for now.

God bless Nigeria. God bless you Barcanista

People who have tasted defeat in Edo State courtesy APC are talking. Not peeps like TonyeBarcanista from Rivers State who know nothing about Edo State!
I was in Edo state in 2012. I remember clearly. Oshomole was popular nd had just had a fantastic first term in office. Rumour had it that he even had the secret support of Jonathan. On the other hand general Charles was left on his own. Selling him to the people was hard as most non indigenes couldn't even pronounce his surname.
Fastforward to now. Oshomole's second term didn't go really well, as he sshowed his arrogant side. Obaseki is only popular amongst his family nd friends. The people are sympathetic to PDP nd have developed a hatred for APC. POI needs no elder to sell him as he sold himself a long time ago. U know since when people don know POI for the helping the poor? My guy. This is not 2012. POI is winning this election.
PoliticsRe: Osagie Ize-Iyamu Wins Edo PDP Governorship Primaries by Marvin67: 7:38pm On Jun 20, 2016
Abagworo:
Your instance and comparison is totally flawed. There was no election in Rivers State to test grassroots popularity but what happened was backing of armed cultists and militia by FG led then by Jonathan to kill any open opposition and supported using the armed forces on the order of Presidency. Wike is still there peacefully because Amaechi doesn't want a war to escalate in Rivers State because of love for his people. It is easy to arm his own group and start a war backed with FG might like Jonathan and Wike did to him.
Listen to yourself. So Amaechi didn't want APC to win the Rivers rerun? Why then did he relocate from Abuja to rivers during to election period going from radio station to radio station boasting. Face the fact bro. Man pass man. In rivers, Wike pass Amaechi. Nd in Edo Iyamu is a political force that Oshomole's political machinery can't withstand.

I see PDP winning this one. Apart from the people in Edo state being sympathetic to PDP. Ize Iyanmu is a politician like Wike. He's a grassroots man. While Obaseki has brains but he's just like Dakuku. The only thing he has is his godfather (oshomole) the same way the only thing Dakuku had was Amaechi.
I also noticed the the people of Edoq started disliking oshomole in 2015 simply cos of thier dislike for APC. This election would go the Same way the Rivers election went. Pdp nd Ize Iyanmu would win.

Tinubu worked for Apc/buhari cos that was the temperature of politics then. The way it is going, there won't be a SW on the ticket. North n SE is the joker! Fayose knows that too well. He simply will be the one behind d masquerade!
You're very correct. Remember PDP just zoned the chairmanship position to the North, with Sheriff's influence, PDP would get the attention of approval of the northerners again. If you look at the rally in jigawa, you'd know that PDP is getting back on course in the north. In 2018 when the chairman's tenure expires, the presidency would be zoned to the north, VP to the SE, and party chairman to the SW , which would make fayose the ambition PDP chairman. With fayose as chairman, you know how scared APC would be. Everything is on course.
