Please let's see this chat with an open mind, without any bias. Bear in mind that GEJ, remains our president at least until May 29. 2015. Watch this chat objectively. So far(in this chat), GEJ hasn't done bad. |
reezee:I decided a long time ago, not to vote for either PDP or APC in this election because in don't believe either of them. But what is true should be said. Holding elections on the 14th would have led to a calamity. In 2011, there was bloodshed and violence, but after that (as a result of militarisation) we saw violence free elections in Edo, Ekiti, and Osun. Those elections were not just free and fair, but also violence free (thanks to the military). Now the military has said because it would be focused on the NE, it cannot guarantee security, yet people still want elections to go on. If you follow the news you'd know that violence is already cooking up. PDP has nothing to gain from this postponement, the same way APC has nothing to lose, infact APC just has one more reason to throw stones at the president. The biggest gainers are those who are yet to get their PVC's and those who are in areas that are prone to violence. |
The truth is that the REC's have little powers here. The political parties and the security forces are the major players. If the security forces, have said they can't guarantee security then, inec can't hold elections. If majority of the political parties vote against the elections, then inec also can't hold elections. Because it may lead to a boycott, which would also lead to annulment of the elections if eventually it is held. I don't want to be in jega's shoes now. |
DDeliverer:Let's look at this scenario. Elections are postponed and APC eventually loses. You think they'd ever accept that result? |
capricornian:Thanks. Let me answer your questions. The truth is, it would never be 100% safe to have elections, and we'd never be 100% ready, but one thing we should also note is that the present situation gives whoever loses, very good reasons to take to court for the annulment of the elections. I don't believe any party would gain or lose if the election is postponed, the one set of people who'd gain are those whose pvc's are unavailable presently. we're sitting on a timebomb in Nigeria. If election holds next week, the loser has very good reasons to reject the result, which would lead to violence. If it is shifted, it also gives the loser very good reasons to reject it which would also lead to violence. Either ways my bro, we're on a timebomb, but as I said earlier only those who are yet to have their pvc's would benefit from the shifting. |
tbaba1234:INEC has until the end of March to conduct the elections. If you follow the news, you'd agree with me that most recently, the Army plus Chadian and Cameroonian troops have been gaining grounds against the BH insurgents. We I think should be done, is to shift it like two weeks ahead. Let's see who would have an excuse to complain after he's defeated. The truth is, with this present situation on ground, if the elections goes ahead next week as planned without those 3 troubled states, It would only create reasons for whoever loses to reject the results, thereby plunging us into crises, thereby leading to the annulment. We are sitting on a time bomb, let's think about these things from non partisan angles. |
Some salient points were made here. Would anyone want to go borno to conduct elections as it stands today? Let's be sincere. If the presidency gives his go ahead that elections should hold in just 32 states, as some people are suggesting to the president, then we're just creating an excuse for this election result to be rejected and annulled. That's when the rumour mills would say the president has always been the sponsor of insurgency. The man has made good points. Who stands to gain and what does APC stand to lose if the elections are shifted? I want this election to hold on the 14th, but I can assure you that if it holds, people already have legal reasons to call for it's annulment. If it holds, there's a high possibility that it would be annuled. |
I don't believe anything Oyegun says, I don't believe anything Lai Mohammed says, I don't believe anything Ahmadu Ali says, and I also don't believe anything Olisa Metuh says. This is all politics. The idea here is to make the PDP camp jittery, and provide a situation where PDP may not trust it's governors, thereby bringing about disunity. Let's watch and see but me, I don't believe. Tomorrow, Olisa Metuh would release a statement laughing at Oyegun. When it happens, remember I said it. |
raumdeuter:Nd what makes you think I voted for GEJ in 2011. In 2011, most people voted blindly (based on emotions). In 2015, most people would also vote based on emotions (another blind selection of leaders). A debate is not compulsory but necessary so that we can compare the ideas of both men especially now that both parties are throwing allegations around. Again I say, if you say GEJ is clueless, then you should be proud to tarnish his policies and shame him right before his own face. |
duality:Exactly! God bless people like you. I'm amazed at how people support whatever a particular party does just because they want to vote for the candidate of that party. Let's flip this for a while. Let's assume it's PDP shunning debates and deciding to hold town hall meetings instead. What would the APC say? You think they'd clap for PDP. You just said the truth. A townhall meeting is just like another rally. It would be attended by supporters of that party alone, the people would simply be mobilised by the party chieftains. Neutrals and opposition supporters would not even be attracted to see it on TV. I expected APC to call their own debate and let's see if PDP would reject or not. If you've said GEJ is clueless, then show the world how clueless he is by thrashing his ideas and policies in a debate. |
Come on guys, let's drop partisanship aside and face the truth. A townhall meeting is good, but a debate is very necessary. A debate would only take one day and a few minutes. It gives you an opportunity to take your opponents ideas to the cleaners, and show his supporters how much better you are than him. A townhall meeting, in most cases would only be attended by few neutrals. Those who have decided to vote GEJ would not attend any GMB townhall meeting and vice versa. A debate would however be viewed by millions of supporters from both sides, thereby giving you the opportunity of wooing your opposition supporters with your brilliant ideas. Even if the townhall meeting is aired live on TV, it wouldn't carry as much importance as viewers would attach to a debate, and for that reason, many wouldn't view it. Let's be sincere PDP started the idea of "townhall" meeting. Remember GEJ met with the organized private sector first, and I'm sure they're also preparing to have other meeting. I know for sure that GEJ would hold a meeting with the farmers and other meetings. Just saying this so that when it happens APC guys don't say PDP copied them. |
So I took the pains of reading this twice. Nd I must say it's a movie. I trust someone from madam's team would respond to Soludo with facts and stats that would present Soludo's fact as lies. The politicians have scattered everthing. Whatever madam brings out PDP guys would swallow it while APC guys would discredit it. As for me, I'd be reading and doing my own research. But let me state that both Soludo and Madam are good economists, who have served/ is serving this nation, and should both be respected. |
When two elephants fight the grass suffer. Please let's look at this from a neutral angle. While I agree that Fayemi's response was more professional and more matured, it is also important to note that Soludo simply spanked APC by saying it's plans were unrealistic, but at the same time he thrashed PDP by calling the government a failure and referring to the economic management team of madam is poor. That was an attack on madam. Now to the issue, statistics are funny and I usually have problems with economists because they rely more on statistics than reality. I know for sure that Soludo is very wrong about his comment on Peter Obi. Anambrarians know that Peter Obi was not just a good governor but a very modest governor whose performance speaks out. I also know that somehow Soludo gave us 25 banks out of which some were sick and eventually government had to spend money to bail out. I also recall that when madam Ngozi was insisting we save our excess crude money governor Amaechi and the governors forum vehemently kicked against it, and eventually we ended up sharing the money. I remember that under Soludo our inflation rate was around 13% but today it stands at a single digit of around 8%. This is the same NOI that forbes rated as one of the most underatted achievers of 2015. This is the same Nigerian economy rated by the world bank and CNN as the third fastest growing for 2015. It would be wrong for Soludo to say madam was not part of his glory days as CBN governor. He has worked under two presidents while madam had worked under 3. I know madam's team would bring their reply and give us their own stats which would flaw Soludo's stats, again let's not forget that stats can be decieving. |
I've read all comments here, and I must say that these politicians have us where they want us. Never believe everything you read on the pages of a newspaper. This news is baseless and has no authentication in it. First no name was mentioned, then Lai Mohammed stylishly (not bluntly) denied It. Go to the south east, and tell me one south eastern governor that wouldn't work for GEJ. The only one maybe Martin Elechi, but I must tell you all that Martin Elechi is politically dead in Ebonyi. APC has no root in Ebonyi at all. This news at best is a propaganda. Don't believe it. |
Before now I had no belief for any of these prophesy stuff, but Apostle Sulieman's prophesies are gradually coming to pass. Has anyone taken note of number 41 of Apostle Sulieman's prophesy? For those who don't know number 41 of his prophesy reads . 41. I saw people who resigned as ministers to contest election return back as Federal ministers. It's no longer news that Obanikoro who resigned to contest for the position of governor has just been re-appionted as a minister. |
To all those who submitted at first gate (festac). I went there today to ask them about the new SMS we received yesterday. The INEC guys said it's supposed to be for those who are yet to show up for the screening we had during the week. If you've submitted u printout with you call up letter or discharge cert, or school id, disregard the message. According to the INEC guys. INEC is confirming that our number has been registered in their data base. They'd reach us through the same means to come for training. |
Please who else would be going to inec office @ first gate, amuwo odofin from tomorrow. Let's discuss. |
sagbar:Please. Contact me on 08157587901. Or add me up on 24CE23EE. Let's discuss. I guess you received a text today. |
sagbar:I went there yesterday, and was told to check back first week of feb. |
Please any information from INEC office at first gate (amuwo odofin). Has any list been pasted there? |
Please can I print after submission? I'm using my phone, and I don't know if I should submit now, or leave it till after printing. |
I've been very busy lately. I hope tomorrow wouldn't be too late to submit my slip. I intend doing that tomorrow. |
Please has anyone submitted in Amuwo Odofin? |
Please house, has anyone submitted at Amuwo Odofin local government? Or do we all need to go to Yaba? |
sammyjoepumping:Please I'm looking at submitting mine on friday because that's the only day I'd be free. I hope it won't be late by then. |
signz:My guy, insurgency doesn't end as easy as u think. No country has been able to end insurgency once it creeps in. Look at the iraq, afghanistan, syria, despite America's huge presence there, ISIS is still terrorising them. If boko haram goes into Cameroon, France can't stop it. |
Orunto:But even with soldiers and police there, people still get killed. |
If inec posts to anywhere in Borno, Yobe or Adamawa, would you agree to go there to conduct elections? Or would you decline the posting? |
Please is there any info from Amuwo Odofin LGA about the submission of slips? |
