Total disrespect for the rule of law. What's the motive behind this? |
When a group is faceless, anyone can claim to be from that group. Jomo Gbomo is faceless and keeps sending emails. Anyone can send a mail claiming to be Jomo Gbomo, afterall what's the signature of Jomo Gbomo? How can we verify if this is the real Jomo Gbomo since no one knows the real Jomo Gbomo? This election has become to messy that even the media is now politicised. AIT/Raypower is PDP. TVC, nation newspaper etc. Howcome this mail was sent to just nation newspaper. No other media house received the mail. If you stay in the Nigerdelta like me, you'd know that the people are rooting for GEJ (at least 80% of them). First it was the SE, first we were told Enugu people topped the list of donors to GMB, then some mushroom (unknown and faceless) group of south-easteners suddenly disowning GEJ. Now the trend has moved to the S/S. My people. Be wise. Vote the candidate of your choice. We'd still see lots of fake (bought) endorsement in the weeks ahead. As I've always said, the fool of 2015 is he who believes all he reads in the newspapers. Especially our newspapers that have taken sides on an issue they should be neutral on. |
mcsnup:Even though some people have replied you, I feel obliged to reply you. 1. If you compare the billions OBJ spent on those roads, without achieving anything, you'd appreciate the massive change GEJ has brought to the roads. 2. If you consider how almighty Russia has gone into recession plus hyper inflation, and how the Russian ruble is fast loosing value, you'd appreciate the Nigerian economy, and how our cost of living has remained relatively stable despite the current fall in the price of crude oil. 3. I'd answer that in the words of GEJ, and allow you compare it with what the other candidate once said. In the exact words of GEJ "I've always said, my ambition is not worth the blood of any single Nigerian". Please compare that to what some people once said. Yes. GEJ values life of Nigerian. |
Wow! I must confess I'm impressed. The issue here is some people just hate GEJ no matter what he does. Now 3 power plants are being built, APC online guys say it's too late. They forget the revamping of the automobile industry, they forget the booming agricultural sector. They have forgotten that OBJ spent 8 years and several billions but couldn't fix benin-ore road, now that road is far batter than OBJ left it. They forget the lagos- ibadan expressway which OBJ spent billions on but couldn't fix it, now that road is in a far better state. They forget the 125 almajiri schools in the north. Now they wouldn't say anything about this train. GEJ has done well. |
Please what is the current price of Techno Techno phantom G9 in slot presently? |
I think once a news is verified to be false, that news should be removed from FP. Clearly this news is untrue as there is a leadership crises in APGA and this man is clearly not the leader of Lagos APGA. In the words of Pat Utomi, "I don't read Nigerian newspapers because the news they give you is true in the morning, doubtful in the afternoon, and a lie at night". I also think there's a trend here. Both parties know their strongholds and are just working on destabilising the votes the other candidates would get from their own strongholds. Recently, we've seen some prominent yoruba men endorse Jonathan. The APC is also not left out they're getting igbos to against Jonathan. First the faceless igbo group in enugu, then the most controversial Mbaka, now this impostor claiming to be who he's not. My advice is listen to no one. If you've decided, stick with your choice. Some of those men speaking may not even have PVC's. Some of them have been bought. Some of them are seeking selfish interest. Don't be deceived my people. Vote the candidate of your choice. |
waternogeteneny:In as much as I like to avoid discussions like this one, I must confess that you're very right. The APC guys have suddenly shifted their attention to the south east. Let me show you a trend. 1. They told us that Igbo's from Enugu state top the list of donors to Buhari. 2. They told us that a fake igbo group called igbo something something is threatening to drop its support for GEJ 3. Now they have looked for an igbo priest who can act a "spiritual drama" for them, and tell us plainly things that even an illiterate would not say. I showed my friend who's igbo and catholic that video, he didn't watch it for up to 4mins before he angrily stopped it and said "Mbaka is an idiot, a shame and a disgrace to the catholic church" There's a game going on here, and only the wise can understand the game. |
Freelancer00:Out of 3 militarized elections, PDP has won just one, and we didn't record any death or case as a result of electoral violence. Even the one PDP won was because their candidate was far more loved than the incumbent governor. Up till today, Ekiti people still insist that they have no regrets voting out Fayose. Please tell me one case where PDP has rigged as a result of militarization of the state. If militarization would prevent violence, save lives, and still give us credible elections like we had in Ekiti, Edo and Osun, then only an enemy of peace would kick against it. I'm 100% in support of militarizing the states during elections. |
DaBullIT:All these illustrations just for the Osun state elections? PDP lost Osun state the very minute they announced Omisore as their candidate. I told whoever cared to listen then that Omisore was bound to lose. You don't defeat an incumbent governor or party with a candidate who's not as popular as that candidate is in the state. PDP won Ekiti because they had a candidate who is a grassroot man (Fayose) running against a conservative Fayemi. PDP lost Edo in 2011 because they had a certain general (whose name I can't even remember) running against a vibrant Oshiomole. PDP has a chance in Lagos now because they have a grassroot man as their candidate, word on the street is rivers is that PDP would win because Wike is more rooted and vocal than Peterside. I support militarizing a state provided it guarantees us peaceful elections and guarantees that no life would be lost. Edo, Ekiti and Osun were militarised. Out of those 3, PDP won just one. So please drop the idea that osun was militarized because PDP wanted to rig it. It's almost impossible to rig an election against a sitting governor because the governor controls the state's security apparatus. |
fitzmayowa:You're right. Both parties engage in rigging. The party in control of the security apparatus of a state has an upper hand as regards rigging in that state. If you look at the settings, PDP controls more states, governors are desperate to deliver their states to the presidency. APC can rig in the SW, but it would be difficult for them to rig in Ekiti and Ondo. Don't be surprised to see Jona win with a wide margin (after rigging) in those two states. |
kenonze:He's the president of Nigeria not the president of Ogbia. Most of Nigeria's past president and rulers have been from the north, but the north still remains the least under developed zone in Nigeria. What of the federal university GEJ built in Otueke (which is in its second year of admitting students), and the newly built Federal Medical Centre there( that doctors have already been employed to start work)? Aren't they FG projects? |
I'm getting tired and bored of this political game. It's now almost impossible to differentiate the truth from a lie. How prominent is this group? This is the first time I'm even seeing a group like this. Anybody (maybe from the opposition) can just form one group with less than 20 people and then say he's speaking on behalf of a particular tribe. I'm not igbo, but I visit the south east a lot and I can boldly tell you that no president has brought federal presence to the south east as much as GEJ. Word on the street in igboland is that they'd vote for GEJ. Take a survey of the igbos around you and you'd see that 80% of igbos are solidly behind GEJ. I want this election to just come, so we can have some quietness in Nigeria again. |
The fool of 2015 is he who believes everything he sees or reads. Yesterday it was a video (doctored or not) of GMB telling his supporters to kill. Today it is this alleged statement from Okah. As usual, people would believe based on their choice of candidate and not based on the authenticity. As for me, I choose to believe non. Let the lies, propaganda, and doctored videos keep springing from both camps,. The fool of 2015 is he who believes everything he sees or reads |
This thread comes in response to this thread. www.nairaland.com/2061807/ekiti-teachers-curse-governor-fayose. The information below shows that the previous thread was a lie. I wonder how many more lies will be busted between now and february. Teachers in Ekiti State on Thursday said they had no regret voting against ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi in the June 21, 2014 governorship election in the State. The teachers who spoke through their umbrella body, the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ekiti chapter, said they voted against Fayemi for introducing anti-teachers policies. The union was reacting to a programme anchored on Adaba FM, an Akure, Ondo State based Radio Station, where some teachers were said to have phoned Fayemi, who featured in a live programme and apologised to him on behalf of others, having compared his administration with the present one. The NUT Chairman, Comrade Samuel Akosile, in a statement on Thursday described those who rendered the apologies as Fayemi’s apologists and not members of the Union. He advised the former governor to refrain from dragging the body into politics, saying, “In as much as we do not want to be dragged into politics because we are civil servants and unionists, we feel constrained to ask Governor Fayemi and his apologists that: who deserves apology, Fayemi or Ekiti teachers in this matter?. “Do we need to apologise for refusing to sit for an examination that was meant to retrench us? Do we need to apologise for going on strike for demanding for our rights for the payment of 27.5%? Do we need to apologise for standing up as a union to oppose policies that are inimical to educational development and teachers’ welfare?.” Akosile described the statement credited to All Progressives Congress commending the teachers for showing remorse and tendering apologies as uncalled for. He said his members had no regret for voting Fayose as the validly elected governor during the governorship poll, urging the APC to stop orchestrating fake individuals to act like his members in a manner that could ridicule the body. He asked, “What has Fayose done to teachers in less than three months into his administration that calls for regret? “From what happened before and during the governorship election, we think the last administration should realise that this kind of media intrigue and shenanigan has no effect on Ekiti people. “Ekiti teachers have more than enough reasons to vote Fayemi out of government and we can never regret it,” Akosile added. Flye:Unfortunately, this is Nigeria, and that is what we have on ground. You can go into this tread to see how sentimental Nigerians are www.nairaland.com/2064467/igbo-group-lagos-writes-fashola. The idea here tells you that the idea of one Nigeria is more of a mere talk than a reality. I've always said that GEJ's biggest problem is not the APC, but his biggest problem are the people around him and his media aides. They are playing to the gallery of the APC. GEJ has made some very good achievements that some Nigerians are not even aware of. Yesterday, I told one man that GEJ has built 125 almajiri schools in the north (which no other president had done) and the man found it hard to believe. The likes of Doyin Okupe should be showcasing his achievements instead of making it look like he's relying on religion or ethnic sentiment. The opposition on the other hand is very vocal. You don't expect them to tell you the achievements of GEJ, instead they'd look at his fault, exaggerate it and keep singing it to the people. Overtime the people would know more of GEJ's faults than his achievements. That is exactly what has happened. And it's all the fault of GEJ's media men. |
Flye:. Ok. The governor of Benue state performed woefully. But Benue is one of those states that would massively return GEJ in the presidential elections. I'd tell you why. Benue falls into that category of the North that feels the hausa's/fulani's always want to marginalize them. They also gain from this present arrangement, as their son (David Mark ) is the number 3 man in the country. If GMB wins, that could be altered. PDP may lose the governorship of benue because of Suswam's failure, but I can bet you GEJ would win in Benue. I still emphasise, that PDP is taking the campaign down to the rural areas, giving the people rice and other things. That is where the votes come from not from the internet. |
Flye:I guess by the mood everywhere you mean the mood in Lagos, other southwest states and online. I've always said the North would be the deciding factor here. The number of Votes GEJ would win in the South east ans South south will be more than the number of votes he'd lose in the south west. Don't think the north is one dimensional. The North is divided into three. There's the core (Hausa) north. There's the north that hates been associated with anything Hausa as they see themselves as being marginalised greatly by the hausas, there's a Christian north that (unfortunately) are not enlightened enough to put aside religious sentiments. The northern votes wouldn't go massively for GMB, you'd be suprised at the number of votes GEJ would pull out of the north. No where in the world has elections been won online. I remember when George Bush was going for second term, 80% of americans voted him out online, but in real life he won the election. The internet is filled with so many people who are not even registered voters, and most of the comments you read online are still from the Lagos people. APC is winning the online polls, but PDP is going into rural areas where the people don't even know GMB or GEJ, sensitizing the people on how to vote, and giving them rice at the end of the day, those people would vote for PDP. Both parties have adopted different strategies, but if you ask me, PDP's strategy would yield more results at the polls because that's where it matters. Elections are won in the field not online. |
Flye:That's what a pastor should say. It places him in a neutral position and doesn't translate to mean that he's urging Christians not to vote for GEJ. If you look at it in that direction, you could also interpret it to mean that he's urging muslims and northerners not to vote for GMB. The pastor just placed himself in a neutral position. |
Seven lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) out of the 26- member Ekiti State House of Assembly yesterday passed into law N80.94billion budget for the 2015 fiscal year. Speaking with newsmen after the sitting, the factional speaker of the House, Hon Dele Olugbemi, said the additional N17million in the N80.77billion presented to the House by Governor Ayodele Fayose would be used for some renovation works in the Assembly. He explained that all the three arms of government, the Executive, Judiciary and Legislature were fully involved to ensure financial balancing in the budget proposal. Meanwhile, the 19 lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the speaker, Dr Adewale Omirin, have described the passage of the appropriation bill into law as illegal and an exercise in futility. The lawmakers, who held a plenary in Ado-Ekiti about two weeks ago, where the seven PDP lawmakers were suspended and resolutions on the autonomy of the local governments and House of Assembly, among others, were passed and sent to the National Assembly, said all actions of the seven lawmakers cannot stand. Speaking further on the passage of the budget, Olugbemi added that all ministries, departments and agencies of government were given a fair share of the state’s resources to bring unprecedented development to the people. Journalists and party leaders, who were already seated at the assembly’s gallery, were however, walked out of the Chamber to allow the plenary to be held behind closed doors. The leader of Government Business, Hon Samuel Ajibola, who raised objection about the heavy presence of non-members at the sitting he described as special and one that needed to be held behind closed door, said they were protected by laws to hold a secret session, if they so desired, adding “we are not flouting the laws if we ask non-members to walk out”. At this point, the sergeant-at-arms and other internal security staff of the Assembly ordered those affected including journalists to take their leave. Olugbemi, while consenting to the objection, said the House can design the kind of sitting it desires, depending on circumstances. “The action we took was as a result of exigency of time. The House can design the model under which it will conduct its sitting”. On the size of the budget, Olugbemi said the House of Assembly’s Committee on Appropriation did a thorough job, adding that this is the first time the budgetary estimate submitted at the Assembly would be increased since 2011. Omirin in a statement by his special adviser on m0edia, Wole Olujobi, described yesterday’s exercise held behind closed doors as one in the series of comic tales by farcical politicians holding the reins of governance in Ekiti State. “It is sad that Governor Ayodele Fayose has turned Ekiti State House of Assembly to a safari Park where the macho posturing of misguided adults in G7 is being masterfully manipulated by this accomplished choreographer of political sophistry. “In the sitting they themselves knew was illegal, they chased away print and electronic reporters that got wind of their plan to sit. “They held the illegal meeting with no in-house correspondents in attendance as they were also chased out. In their wisdom, they, as usual, reportedly had Lere Olayinka and Hon Dele Olugbemi’s personal assistant in attendance. “To them, the machination is yielding astounding results that confound and defy logic. Clearly, this is illegal, unconstitutional and another toad-for- the-dinner sitting that responsible Nigerians know quite well does not have a place in our legal statute. “The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not a cocktail of brawn and sinews, neither does it condone the boisterous essence of gangsterism,” the speaker said, adding that Ekiti State had grown beyond the motor park antics of pretenders to the throne of honourable members of the parliament. Omirin insisted that APC members would continue to apply laws in whatever they do, stressing that APC members swore at inauguration to protect the sanctity of the Nigerian constitution. “As far as the constitution of Nigeria is concerned, the ‘Assembly’ led by Olugbemi is an illegal body that has no place in law. APC lawmakers shall continue in the path of constitutionality for our errant and misguided colleagues to know that it is only through law, truth and honour that we can take Ekiti State to the heights that will be a pride to all our people,” Omirin said. He is our president and would remain our president at least till May 29 2015 or beyond. Please regard him with some respect. This idea of calling the president names is uncivilised. Don't insult personalities please. |
The politicians have succeeded. There's already hatred in the minds of the people against opposition supporters. There's already an online war. All forms of reasoning has been thrown into the wind. I just hope the online warriors do not convert to foot soldiers when the result is released, because there'd surely be one winner. Open your eyes my friends, these politicians have already sent their loved ones abroad and if there's trouble, the politicians themselves would take the next flight abroad. Where were Ojukwu and Gowon when the Nigerian Civil war got tough? The GMB you're ready to fight for, would leave this country when it gets too hot. The GEJ you're ready to fight for, would leave when it becomes too hot. Let everyman make his choice. Choose who you'd vote for. Leave the politicians to do their campaigning. Respect the another man's choice of candidate. Secretly vote for your candidate (that's if most of you would vote , in most cases online gladiators are not registered voter). At the end let the candidate with the highest number win and let's move on with our lives. This online war has to stop. |
These two parties would keep heating the polity until the end of the election. I'm getting tired and bored of all their "wahala", but I have some questions to ask. I believe there's no smoke without fire. Why always Buhari? Buhari isn't the only muslim politician in Nigeria. No one has called Tinubu a religious bigot, No one has referred to Tambuwal as a religious Bigot. No one has ever called Atiku a religious bigot. There are so many muslim politicians in Nigeria, why is Buhari the only one that has that unwanted title attached to him? Buhari also realises that he has this "stain" and has decided to pick a pastor as his running mate just as he did in 2011. My question is how did this "title" befall Buhari? Remember there's no smoke without fire. |
Lies! Lies! Lies! Old mama dey lie, Old papa dey Lie, Young men online dey lie, Alhaji dey lie, Pastor dey lie, PDP dey lie, APC dey lie. It is now a game of who can tell more lies. Lies everywhere. Be wise my people, don't believe all you hear or read. |
Nigeria is a very funny country. Sometimes I ask if we really know the meaning of democracy. ASUU went on strike, demanding (amongst other things) university autonomy. The FG knew the implications of such demand and didn't want to grant the request. Students, Parents, everyone clamoured that the FG heeds to the demand of ASUU. FG eventually granted ASUU's request. Gave the universities autonomy and also gave out money to the universities (which was also part of the demand). Months later, Universities start increasing fees, and student start calling on the FG. My question is, don't you know the meaning of autonomy? Were you not the ones calling the FG names for refusing to sign the agreement with those selfish ASUU members? Cry to your VC not the FG. Now we are all suffering from the university autonomy |
chemali:First let me tell you that I don't insult people or their opinion on nairaland. I made my opinion known without calling anyone foolish, I also don't engage in an online war with people. I'm not condemning him. it is left for God to decide who to condemn or not. Besides, Christ didn't go into a LovePeddler house to meet with the people you call sinners. There's nothing wrong with Pastor Osinbanjo meeting or having a conversation with Olamide. I'm just not comfortable with a pastor going to Olamide's show, we all know how those concerts are. We all know how the atmosphere of those places are. I'm a member of RCCG, and I know my own parish pastor would not be proud of me if he sees me attending an Olamide concert. GEJ is not a pastor. If Osinbanjo was just an "ordinary christian", he can attend anything and make anyone his friend, who cares. But a pastor is a spiritual leader who should lead by example. Please make your comments or quote maturedly. We're not enemies. We're just sharing opinions. |
Pastor! Pastor! Pastor! Your number one assignment is to win souls and not votes. Did you attend the last let's go a fishing program, or were you busy "hanging out " with circular musicians? Did you preach the gospel to Olamide or did you tell him about votes? I'm a member of RCCG, and I must confess that pastor Osibanjo hasn't made me proud. God help us. When pastors now sit in the front row of circular concerts where girls come on stage to dance half naked. How would they preach to new converts in church? |
Ngwakwe:God Bless you for this. I keep saying democracy is not a one man show. The FOI bill has been signed, let the opposition go to the ministry of finance by itself to seek any information they need. What's stopping the APC lawmakers from presenting an anti corruption bill, and let's see if the Executive wouldn't sign it. This whole issue of raising dust just to paint one man black and make another look like a saint has got to stop. Let APC start making moves to change Nigeria from the contributions of their legislators in the NASS |
I used to think the idea of "one Nigeria" was a reality until I came into this thread. Now it's obvious that there's a no such thing as one Nigeria. If the youths already have a cold war going on, then where's the oneness in Nigeria? There's obviously no respect for past leaders if they're not from your tribe. The Igbo's have negative things to say about Awolowo, the yoruba's have negative things to say about Azikiwe, someone even described the igbo's who died in the civil war as "worthless souls". Hmmmm. Only God can save this nation. Please those calling for sounds war should be careful what they wish for. A war is the worst thing that can happen to any people. How would Nigeria even work when our youths have this mentality? |
Please how do I get rematched, I was paired with a firm at the job fair in lagos, but after doing some research, but I don't think can resume work there. Please I'd appreciate a rematch. My unique Beneficiary code is GI-LAG-AMU-01591. Thanks. |
I won't believe this news until 7 days from now ( that's if a contrary news doesn't pop up) because there are so many lies flying around now. I've said this before and I'd say it again. PDP initially zoned their governorship ticket to another zone, but that arrangement can no longer work because Ameachi has left the party. Right now, the only thing in the mind of PDP rivers is getting back Rivers state, and non of those other contenders are as rooted as Wike is. Non of them can stand Amaechi the way Wike is challenging him vocally. Ajumogobia would have been a good candidate, but Ajumogobia doesn't know how to play this our rough, talk base, politics. Unfortunately for us, Nigeria's politics now boils down to how rugged the candidate is, how much bad he can say about his opponent, and how rooted he is. This is what Wike has that the other candidates don't have. Why do you think Fayose won back Ekiti? Why did Omisore lose in Osun? Why would PDP give APC a tough fight this time in Lagos? If a candidate is a gentle man in Nigeria's talk-talk politics, it would take a miracle for that candidate to win any election, especially when he's contesting against somebody like Amaechi. The Rivers election is between PDP and Amaechi. Peterside standing alone, would not even come third in the elections. |
