Early this week the PDP zoning committee zoned the position of the party chairman to the north east, a position most people have said would most likely be picked up by Ali Modu Sheriff. Initially, I was of the opinion that the party goofed, but after careful consideration, I have come to conclusion that sheriff is the best man to head PDP at this time for the reasons highlighted below. - a party like PDP needs funding, which sheriff has a lot of, some workers at the PDP secretariat say the secretariat has been working smoothly since sheriff took over. APC has Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and other money bags, so they can afford having a figure head as chairman, but PDP can't afford such as things stand now. - there's a need to raise consciousnesses in the mind of the northerners ahead of the 2019 elections, note that by 2018, sheriff's tenure would end. At this point, PDP would have a southern chairman and a northern presidential candidate. Look at the jigawa rally and see the massive crowd sheriff was able to pull. - the APC is afraid of Sheriff. With the way APC reacted to sheriff's appointment, it is obvious the APC is afraid of sheriff, a man who was instrumental to the formation of APC. |
The economist doesnt need to write all these grammer, even the old woman selling pepper down the road can explain that things aren't working and times are hard. Companies are releasing employees, cost of the day to day good has increased, there's no fuel to run around, everything is tight , simply because one baba would not listen. If only this president would listen, if only he'd seek advice from those who know. Anyway, we re waiting for him around the corner in 2019. His party says "no vacancy in aso rock" we'd show them that with our votes we decide who stays in aso rock and who leaves aso rock. Let's even start now, click like if you want Buhari out of aso rock , for a better Nigeria. Click share if you believe Buhari should remain in aso rock to fix Nigeria |
1United1:With numbers. Politics is a game of numbers |
What's the difference between Ameechi and Wike ? They're both same of the same. The only difference is one knows how to play the game in Rivers better than the other, and one talks tough (Amaechi) while the other acts tough (Wike) The atmosphere was calm under Amaechi because there was no opposition then. All the political thugs in the state were under one PDP umbrella. When Amaechi moved to the APC, what he did was to create a battle by dividing the political thugs. Only one man can fight and defeat Amaechi, and that's Nyesom Wike on election day, PDP and Wike would thrash Amaechi and APC |
engineerboat:My thought exactly. There are many cases where the appeal court erred in judgement. The case of David Mark is one of them. The appeal court nulified the election simply because the resident officer mistakenly wrote 28th of March on the result sheet, rather than 29th (the actual day the result was announced) Another case is the case of Uche Ekwunife where the appeal court nullified the election based on a pre election matter, which as we have seen in Benue and Taraba, doesn't concern the opponent, as only party members have the right to complain about the primaries of the party. Also the case of the Rivers senators whose election were nullified because of card reader, as we have seen in Lagos and now Rivers, the card reader is just to supplement the manual register, as the electoral act is higher than INEC rules. On that basis, an election can't be nullified based on card reader. Those judges have erred, but unfortunately the court of appeal is the last bus stop for those cases. Too bad |
I said it here that, you can't cancel 3 local governments with over 150,000 voters in an election where the winner is leading with a margin of 40,000. The worst to happen is to call for a rerun in those areas. Number of cancelled votes can't be higher than margin of victory. Otti's lawyers have realized that the judgement get "k-leg". |
Freemanan:You got me wrong bro. The subject matter here is that someone who was fully for Jonathan nd PDP during the campaigns even when Jonathan did something's wrong, suddenly makes a turn. I never said he shouldn't have a contrary opinion from his party, I only said coming on social media to rubbish a party you claim to be a member of, is not proper. Has he written to his ward chairman to explain his discomfort with the things the party is doing? Better still he can openly come out to say he is no longer into partisan politics , then we would understand that he's now neutral. He's only making a mockery of himself by staying on one side and still blasting that side especially when you consider his antecedent here. The issue here is about Jonathan. Should he speak or should he not? But did barcanister focus on the issue, or did he just try to explain how helpless Jonathan is? |
TonyeBarcanista:My dear Barcanister. I've only quoted you once on this forum, and that once was to commend you. Check my monicker and you'd see that I'm not one who comments on every issue. But you're taking the wrong step here. Your quote shows that you're no longer a Jonathan or PDP supporter. The best thing for Jonathan to do in this case is to maintain his silence and allow all the allegations keep rolling, one day we'd surely know the truth l, whether it indicts Jonathan or exonerates him, the truth would prevail. The APC has a mission to rubbish Jonathan and anything PDP, and you still expect Jonathan to fall into thier trap by making a statement that would surely be used against him. Does Buhari look to you like a man who would change his mind simply because of what Jonathan told him. Brother, unfortunately, you're one reason people would keep saying south south people can't play opposition politics and which makes people not take south south people serious. If you have a stand maintain it. If you're for PDP, stand firm, you may have a contrary opinion to the official opinion of PDP, but you shouldn't come to the public to say it. Let me even ask, are you still Pro PDP, please be bold to answer. One love bro. |
Please all those for IRPM full time should drop their phone numbers so we can create a what'sapp group. |
Senator Uche Ekwunife representing Anambra Central senatorial zone, yesterday, December 28, dismissed reports that she has been disqualified from contesting the March 2016 fresh poll in the area after her election was nullified by the Appeal court. Speaking to newsmen, Ekwunife also dismissed reports that she has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Uche Ekwunife has dismissed reports that she has defected to the All Progressives Congress She said: “I want to clear one thing and that is, that no state chapter of the PDP conducts the party primaries. It is the business of the national leadership of our great party. There were five-member panel from the national secretariat that conducted the National Assembly primaries in Anambra state. We all went through the same process so why single only me out. “I have taken everything in good faith. If God that sent me there wants me to be there again, I’ll be there, but I strongly believe that the issue of disqualification being spread everywhere is the handiwork of my opponent in All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Chief Victor Umeh. “Umeh is afraid of election and he thinks the only way he can undo me is through blackmail. No court can disqualify somebody based on party primaries. Nobody disqualified me, nobody has disqualified PDP. The court has ordered fresh election and not re-run and l have started my campaign. “I am ready for the election. I am in the race to contest and win. No amount of blackmail will stop me because God abhors injustice. Umeh should leave me alone because I am not his problem. “His problem is the electorate, a greater percentage of whom will not vote for him in the forthcoming fresh poll.” Hon. Ekwunife had polled 101548 votes to outsmart her closest rival and Chief Victor Umeh, the national chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), who garnered 77129 votes. Announcing the result, Dr. Pius Okoye, the INEC returning officer attested that the poll was free, fair and credible, but the Appeal Court however nullified the election. Meanwhile, the PDP had fixed January 9, 2016 for its party primaries, and Ekwenife is confident that she would still fly the party’s flag to contest the election. https://www.naij.com/680662-sacked-pdp-senator-speaks-purported-defection.html |
Yhinkss:Then when the list of Democratic nations is been read out, let Nigeria be exempted. There's nothing wrong with having our own system of government. We mustn't use democracy. But if we claim to be practising democracy, let's do it based on the rule of law. Or better still, let's make it official that we now have an autocratic government. What goes around comes around. Buhari is doing these today with good intentions, if he doesn't stop, watch how another leader would come later nd do them with all the bad intentions, things like this always backfire |
Nd that is how people would sit in their rooms and push baba to destruction. We can't practise half democracy. Democracy is based on the rule of law. If we don't want to abide by that we can create our own system of government. We can't claim to be practising a democracy where literates would support one man to be lawmaker, president, and chief judge at the same time. This is not democracy, let's stop deceiving ourselves. As I always say, it's not about PDP or APC. It,'s about standing for what is right today, so you wouldn't need to change your stand tomorrow. If you support Buhari in this today, be ready to support another tyrant leader when he comes up. What we need is strong institutions, not strong individuals, becareful how powerful you make Buhari feel, it could backfire tomorrow. A word is enough for the wise |
I've quietly followed this APC vs PDP thing, and I've come to the conclusion that people have the spirit of hate, which is caused by blinded partisanship, rather than a desire to move Nigeria forward. It is an irony that a party which excellently insulted a sitting president, and even went to the level of gathering people to pelt stones at the president cannot stand the heat of their man being insulted. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. We have to stop this idea of supporting things based on party stand. We have to insist on the rule of law. APC started the idea of insulting presidents, now it has backfired. Buhari has started the idea of disobeying court orders, watch how it would back fire The most painful part is the part of saying PDP destroyed. Is PDP a person. PDP members many of whom are now APC members destroyed Nigeria. Most people in PDP now, were not even in PDP in those 16years. It's funny how politicians are successfully deceiving Nigerians. |
Not that I support the protest , but let me just give an explanation, so people outside the region would understand. The Ngwa's are arguably the biggest , most populated ,and most powerful nation (juju wise),in abia. Ngwa has never produced a governor of Abia state. Ikpeazu is from Ngwa . After Orji Kalu (Bende) and T.A. Orji (umuahia) the Ngwa's believe this is their time. They were massively behind Ikpeazu a son of Ngwa. The three LGA with cancelled result are all in Ngwa. So the people see it as someone cancelling thier votes to steal their son's mandate. Trust me, Ngwa people no go gree . As I said earlier, I just explained, it doesn't mean I support them |
Ndmichaels:Have no fear. Ikpeazu would remain governor. The supreme court is there,. U can't cancel election in 3 LGAs nd announce someone as the governor. The Number of registered voters with PVC in those LGA is more than the number Otti is leading with. The supreme court would look into that. You know where the vote of the ngwa's would surely go to |
We have not heard the last of the matter. The total number of voters with PVC in those 3 local government is higher than the margin of the result. After the supreme court, the ruling would likely call for fresh elections in those 3 local governments, on the grounds that you can't disenfranchise over 70,000 voters in an election that the winner is leading with less than 40,000 votes. And we all know where the votes of those LGA's would swing to. That is Ikpeazu's strong hold |
TonyeBarcanista:But the court has set him free, twice now, and he's still being detained following orders from the president. Besides, it is the prerogative of the court to determine what is treasonable felony, and what is not. It is not the duty of the president. The point here is, the president has already judged the matter, and sentence them to life imprisonment right from the comfort of his bedroom. That's where the problem is. |
ziccoit:What is the definition of the right things? Is the right thing now defined by what Buhari says? If the soldiers had shot the teenagers for pelting stones at a sitting president, would you have termed it the right thing ? |
demolinka:When the story changes and someone you know is illegally incarcerated, simply on the ground of him being a "terrorist" without proof, I hope you'd keep supporting the dictator in power. What goes around comes around. |
This man is a funny man. He sits at Abuja and sends Fayose on a mission to Borno. It would have been better if he had given his press conference from Maiduguri or Sambisa and invite Fayose over for lunch. Or wait a minute, Fayose has been giving him so much heat lately, maybe he wants to send him on a journey of no return. Uncle Lai, this matter is easy to settle, just relocate to Maiduguri without your security, let's see if Fayose would visit you. |
Activa:I guess you didn't see the part where it is written that "some are there because the judge decides that they are too dangerous". While the others are there because they cannot afford bail. In the case of Dasuki, and Kanu, the judge didn't see them as too dangerous to the society therefore granting them bail. Or is Buhari now a judge ? |
This is a clear explanation of the implication of Buhari's stand on the release of Dasuki and Kanu. Let's assume you were having a stroll around Asokoro, with your friends and discussing politics as usual, in the heat of the argument, you refer to president Buhari as the Daura President and other names as people usually do in nairaland. Meanwhile the presidents convoy is passing by, and somehow the president's security team hears your comment, you get arrested, taken to court, the court sets you free, but you don't get released simply because Buhari believes you are guilty and you must get jailed for life. I hope you'd keep praising him then. Remember what goes around comes around . A president was once pelted with stones in Nigeria, and he didn't even order the arrest of the people. The hypocrisy in this matter is that those who are supporting Buhari in all this, are the same ones who were jubilating when a sitting president was been pelted with stones, if that president had the mind of Buhari, all those who pelted him with stones would have been shot dead immediately or sent to jail for life. Would the people supporting Buhari today have supported Jonathan if he had done that? Imagine someone pelting Buhari's convoy with stones. Just imagine what would happen. If you support injustice today, there may be no one left to fight for you when injustice chooses to fight you. |
TonyeBarcanista:Bros. No cause for alarm. Although I understand your point. But I doubt if Ribadu would decamp. He'd remain in PDP quietly as he knows that he stands a huge chance of becoming president in 2019, when PDP would field a northern and. South east running mate. The only other northerner PDP has is Dankwambo, but Dankwanbo doesn't have the popularity in south, and with a candidate like Ribadu, most neutrals would be attracted. Did you read the part where he said "party differences should not cause......" The meaning of that is that he still sees himself as a PDP man. It's just like saying okowa of Delta state wants to decamp because he once paid for an advert promoting Buhari. Not every PDP man can be like FFK and Fayose |
If this Oga decamps to APC, he'd be making a big mistake politically. Let's look at the situation on ground. The current governor of Adamawa state is from the APC, and he'd want a second term. You don't expect him to step down for Ribadu. In 2019, _ if Buhari doesn't want a second term, APC already has people like Kwankwanso and Ribadu lined up, while PDP has just Dankwanbo. What Ribadu needs to do now, is to remain in PDP and make himself very popular and loved by his people. His big mistake was leaving APC , leaving PDP now would be a bigger mistake. |
TonyeBarcanista:I don't support such a party, I'm just calculating a possible outcome. But if such a party comes, it would just be a matter of time before people start listening to them that's if Buhari continues in this way his govt is going. Another point is, loud parties tend to have more supporters than quiet parties. |
I've never said this before, but this Barcanister is the best guy in this section. His posts are factual and spot on, unlike some supporters of APC here who we all know what they'd say on any issue. Barcanister remains the only person whose posts I read and whose thread I follow. Keep it up Barca boy. Now to the issue. If you place Deji's write up beside the news going around of a new mega party coming up, you'd see that one plus one is becoming two. APC would soon have a tough battle on thier hands because from the look of things, the new party would throw everything at APC, the same way APC did when PDP was in power. The new party would also be very vocal, and in most cases, parties like that tend to have massive grassroot and youth support. God bless Nigeria. God bless PDP. God bless APC. God bless Barcanister. God bless me. God bless you. |
[quote author=wadanki post=41344752]I did my interview with workforce since October and documentation since 30th of October and up till now they haven't called any of us.[/quote Yea. I'm in the same shoe. I finished my documentation mid October. Up till now, I've not heard anything from them. Though I called Fisaya, (the documentation guy) and he assured that workforce would get in touch with me once something comes up |
In all, PDP displays some maturity. A matured response. |
Ok. Let's vote. How would you rate Christmas under Buhari , compared to Christmas under Jonathan. Click like if you think Christmas under Jonathan was better. Click share if you think Christmas under Buhari is better . |
Adesina is obviously overwhelmed. |
