"The only democracy in the middle east" is banning journalists lol. God1000: |
Would it have mattered if it was not a colleague's wife? Was it consensual or rape? Gistmedia10: |
I am surprised the US is not number 1...just turn lights on anyhow, leave the TV on, and plug things overnight...cant blame them, they are not paying for it. You shout shout shout...its $200 per month and winter almost double. My students play video game it seems 24hrs a day lol cos they come to class still sleepy. Solar is an option but one must sign 20yr contract...that scares me. In Nigeria, its solar all the way...till we get our shit together. God1000: |
Nigerians do not know how to read between the lines or connect the dots. MARKETERS are the PROBLEM First, they insist landing price is higher so prices should be higher even when NNPC is providing them at subsidized price. Second, they claim the amount they used to transport is not favorable and often threaten to go on strike Third, they started Drama before Dangote Refinery started.. The same people will create scarcity during the holiday period. I am part of a Union, but Unions are not healthy for us in Nigeria. Most of them seem to put their heads together to frustrate the people. Even the Borehole people have started fixing prices. Why can't you let drillers fix their prices? Everyone wants to suck it to the people and then turn around and blame the Govt. If folks are selling the black market, where are they getting the fuels? Since childhood, these scammers have existed, making the most at the expense of the middle class and poor. The sooner we cut off middlemen or regulate them with an open market, price postings from the source, and enforcement, the better it will be for us all. The Banks are no different. ATM is not working...they sell cash to POS, and POS sells Naira to Nigerians. Poverty is truly a disease cos those who have money do not line up to queue or care about the POS charges. Please work hard, and remember to keep serving when you become one of those at the top. Greed...upon all, we will die and leave everything behind. Bobloco: |
Concurrent means the most he will spend in jail is 9 years...the highest of the judgment, and he will be released even before 9years, cos I doubt Nigeria counts a regular year as a prison year. themomentng: |
You have a complex issue...inferiority. I don't know who she was greeting nor do I care. Meeting some people you would hardly meet is one of the benefits of first class...first class lounge and all. Stop assuming the worst about others...fix yourself MrEverest: |
Benefits of riding first class. I go get there some day ...Lordd lol nlfpmod: |
I do not know how people like you are allowed to spew this tribal wars on here without being banned. Different states have different ease of doing business rules. Clearly Lagos has the population, and the country's main airport is in Lagos, so it would naturally make sense for an investor to invest in Lagos. The Govt also focuses on return on investment, and clearly you do not see them putting puts in Osun or Ondo or Ekiti or Oyo...even the dry port in Oyo is meant to decongest Lagos Port. This is not a Yoruba vs Igbo. With Dangote coming on stream, the need to export will be greater which would include fertilizers, jet fuels among others. Think outside of the box for once or go back to school to understand economics. Life does not end and begin with Yoruba vs Igbo CountinBlessins: |
You are right...its him. He said he cannot work with the manager and quit. My Aunt really tried to keep him on the job even though the husband complained a lot. I encouraged him to endure because no work is easy...you get free accommodation and salary on the regular...but alas, it was not meant to be. Anyways, I did my own...we move on. 111GlassCup: |
If its the same guy, he worked a bit for my foundation and I gave him a hotel job with a family member. He could not cope and eventually left. If he is the same person, and now resulting to begging again...its an unfortunate situation. We wont stop helping others. 111GlassCup: |
That's very unfortunate 111GlassCup: |
There is a recent documentary about Peterside on AriseNews. I was shocked when I saw Wale Edun sitting in the mix. No one barely mentioned his connection to Stanbic, even when he took the role of Minister of Finance. Interesting...according to the documentary, Peterside created Stanbic, but Wale Edun was part of the team...not sure if there was co-ownership equity, though. Fujiyama: |
Before you educate someone like us, please get your facts straight. I can use phone to make calls 24-7 in the US for $20. Try making phone calls in Nigeria with Global Com for N25,000 24hrs a day, 7 days a week for a month. The Telecom are already overpriced in Nigeria and still yet, they are asking for increase in tariffs. Do they pay the same salaries as Americans, nope? So you Sir, defender of Global Com don't know you are being fleeced. Again I ask you, if you are a business person and you can sell for more by exporting, would you be patriotic and sell for less...keeping in mind Dangote is publicly traded and shareholders expect dividend payments ...now if you ask me if I love capitalism...it's debatable but it is what it is. Good2go1: |
with the floating of Naira, it's clear Dangote would make a lot less dollars ...so they decided to export more decreasing supply in Nigeria thus leading to increase in price. The upside, they exported more which is what any sane business person would do If he or she can make more...even those selling dry fish now prefer to export abroad...the downside is...things will cost more locally ...upside...we will produce more because greed is a factor in capitalism...folks can make more so they go for more. Car most definitely stolen...this dude can't pass a driving test exam if given the answers in advance. Two teenage girls drove a stolen car into my car and drove off...plate number showed car was stolen...nothing can be done. He wore a mast for a reason... They will use street CCTVs to track him as far as possible...and look for someone with similar height and weight around where the car is abandoned or drove to...so he can still be caught ...but the business is probably insured so they will be fine. So so sad...can't be more than 17-19yr old...that's the America you never see in the news often. Bazztadewu: |
Marketers are the problem 1. PH Refinery is about to release fuel at lower price 2. Wow, we will be forced to lower our cost at the pump (which will still allow them to buy the same liters though) 3. Stop selling and create artificial scarcity to sell stock at higher price to black market 4. Make a lot of money 5. Use it to buy new PMS at lower prices...buying more liters 6. Expanding business with greed, non patriotic and at the mercy of Nigerians. Our media ..muted You should have noticed a trend...same thing when Dangote wanted to come on stream Paraman: |
Baby looks like husband...maybe we should check husband's family...lol officialwdhtv: |
The Telcos should be mandated to install CCTV and emergency hotlines to support and align with security to prevent infrastructure attacks. Telcos continue to make record profits, so increasing prices makes no sense. iwaeda: |
Nothing...he needs to dust his books and study or go and learn a trade. Seunpapa65: |
Should never have settled for lesser amount, and the couple can be made to pay back the amount stolen. He was scammed twice. N3m instead of N16m...he definitely had a terrible lawyer. Lawyers in Nigeria...its just a profession with a legal way to scam because they connive with the parties you are suing - low degree of integrity for some of them. OmihaniFARH: |
I am not even sure you read what I wrote or, like you said...some of the people that are educated are still illiterates. Let me pick the most valid points and summarize it for you. 1. I do not discriminate, and I clearly say that I can separate past experiences from current tenants. 2. I still rent to Igbos, and yes, I have properties in areas they want to rent at because they are closer to the big markets. 3. I understand why some feel the way they do...if yorubas are disproportionately doing likewise, I will understand if you are hesitant...It is called common sense. 4. Even in Europe, the actions of some affect how people relate with others...and they are far more advanced than in your villages. I will leave it here...because the point is not to get back and forth with you. I was clear that I have Igbos in my family...we are detribalized because we marry across tribes. This tells me again that you did not even finish reading or didn't comprehend what I wrote. Billionairly: |
Village people have finally gotten to these ones. Dapromzy333: |
I saw someone wrote...see land for farming...you are so right...in the UK, you will see so many ranches along the train routes...same with Scotland, Ireland and so on....what is wrong with us? Food should be super cheap in Nigeria. abc115: |
Some times I wonder if some humans are more dumb than animals. We are aware of many explosions and multiple people killed while siphoning fuel from tanks...I am beyond shocked that some people still want to take that risk against all prior experiences of others. naptu2: |
God works in mysterious ways. I once asked someone...will Yinka Ayefele be as popular today if he did not have his accident? will this woman be a celebrity if she was not shamed? The stone that the builder rejects has now become the "cornerstone." The foolishness of God is wiser than men. owukpa: |
Law of Demand and Price...Economics 101 LocalFARMERS: |
Its not that.... I rent in Ibadan and have over 30+ tenants...so majority of my tenants are YORUBA. Let me shock you..and I just started renting in less than 3 years...including the most recent incident, I have had like 4 or 5 incidences involving my Igbo brothers...so when compared to the percentage of my tenants, it is very very high. Two of them literally failed to pay rent for 2 months, and left when they saw court papers...the amount spent to renovate the house...was crazy. It was as if they purposely destroyed the house. My Dad...they complain that they need borehole (almost 50% yoruba and Igbos)...we installed N1.5m borehole...they refuse to repair the pumping machine, mind you...one of them sell electric parts to fix this stuff. So now we have given notices to everyone to vacate - 4 Yoruba tenants have moved out...my Igbo brothers leaving in October have all refused to pay security levy to the community. Mind you, I buy construction materials from these same tenants at Iwo Road, so I can patronize them...in the Millions of Naira. I have friends that have vouched never to rent to Igbos. I am not there yet, because like I said, I am able to separate people and not generalize...but when we see something, we need to say something. This is one of the issues facing Nigerians abroad..we do nothing when our people engage in behaviors that are not ideal...then we wonder why we are discriminated against as Nigerians. franchasofficia: |
Sadly this is true but some Igbos have showed some Yoruba landlord shege...I am a living proof of that. Do I still rent to Igbos, yes ...because I am able to separate my previous experience from new tenants but it's not easy I will tell you that. The sad part is...fellow Igbos don't see anything wrong in what their kinsmen do which now creates a bad vibe and lead to generalization...like forming a gang against the landlord in his own house..I think we all should look in the mirror and decide that to change Nigeria, it must start with us. I still had a recent experience last month...the Grandma almost fought my Mom. House was bought since Dec. Rent finished in Dec. Landlord told them house has been sold...we gave 3 months. Found a new place and kept delaying us saying the other house is not ready...lies upon lies...gave many different dates...and this delayed the workers and all...I just decided to keep it vacant for now and maybe will consider AirBnB...cos I would hate to discriminate but the way some tenants act..you connect the dot and you almost would want to conclude its in the blood of some tribes. Mind you, I have a sister married to Igbo...his behavior not so encouraging as well. Sapasenator: |
Before you blame them..think about this 1. Transportation to your area 2. Shop rent to be paid annually 3. Their own expenses You pay premium for convenience and that is how it is everywhere. A 40 bottle of water is $3.99 at Costco...that is 10 cents...same Costco sells one cold bottle of the same water for $1...a 10 times markup ...they have to pay for electricity to keep it cold lol...the store in the neighborhood sell the same water for $1.50 or $1.75. We complain in Nigeria but when you japa, you realize Naija one na small compared to the West lol. Pecoleee345: |
