I won't be surprised if they do a concession for that once the train is done. I think it would make more sense to complete the rail before this because the private companies would want to create a concession based on how many people they think would take the ferries and how much they stand to gain. If a lot of people are moving via the Marina Train Station, I see them adding these ferries. They are working on the red line, and by next year, all of these should be done. It's not always easy to do this concession because not very many private entities have funds to run such and most do prefer crude oil, ports, and so on. leisuretym: No, I disagree, you can still engage them , note that more people will start using very with the arrival of more ferries, do you know the number of people who doesn’t want to be in Lagos traffic? Ikorodu to Ajah is about 15mins by fishing boats we call ferry here and people always wait for boat arrival , while Ikorodu by road is about 2hrs from Ajah to Ikorodu considering the traffic |

they are working on it but that ferry boats na jobs for some. Once you bring in those big ferries, you will create job loss indirectly. leisuretym: What do you mean?
What do you mean by over compensation?
Roads and rails are not built overnight .
For them to be opening the roads , jetty and rails now is an indication that they have been working on it before now
But they should bring in lots of ferries using government and private partnerships like the brt system , it’s a shame government allows the use of fishing boats for water transportation in Lagos. |

This assumption is not always true. Agitation and separatists do align with foreign govts and according to Machiavelli, a nation that must stand can never be divided. I am a Yoruba but these Yoruba Nation are mostly funded from US or UK by disgruntled people that have a sense of entitlement because they now have money or live in the Diaspora. The Govt has woken up now, and following the Machiavellian principle, you squash an uprising because it expands so you don't give comfort to the opposition that they have legs to stand on. gasparpisciotta: Separatists movement all over the world has always been about marginalization stemmed out of lack of fairness, equity and justice by political leaders and political elites.
If the President and state governors can be fair, just and equitable in governance then agitations will naturally fizzle out.
However, Nigerian leaders believe in threats, intimidations and money politics which further impoverish the masses and fuel calls for secession.
They know the truth but will rather avoid it
True federalism and resource control will address some of this issues, power must return to the states.
Citizens will then have to hold their respective governors accountable. |

Great idea but without factoring the cost, its just a dream. Also the elites like to have access and its true everywhere in the world...will the legislative and judicial branch allow this? Even ASUU hire teachers and professors based on who knows who. They opposed automatic 1st class hiring proposed by Buhari. Good luck StoriesUpdate: My first executive order will be to reform the civil service -- Accord presidential candidate, Prof Imumolen
Accord party's presidential candidate Professor Christopher Imumolen says he will make wholesale reforms in the country's civil service his topmost priority should he get the opportunity to become Nigeria's president in next year's general elections.
Nigeria's civil service has for decades now failed to live up to it's assigned constitutional role as the engine that runs government as it wallows in indolence and corruption. Typified by excruciating bureaucracy that unnecessarily slows down the business of government at all levels, the country's civil service hasn't exactly earned plaudits over the years.
That is why it will be to the benefit of the people, he says, if the civil service is reformed and sanitised to make it more attuned to the demands of an incoming reformist government like the one he is intending if he gets elected president. According to Professor Imumolen the success or failure of any government depends on the civil service.
"Any government that wishes to fully deliver on it's pre-election promises must not overlook the role the service could play in ensuring that because they are the oil that lubricates the engines of government," he says.
"The civil service as presently constituted can not fully fulfill it's constitutional role of making government work effectively because of age-long habits that needs to be curbed. "A civil service populated by workers who got there on a man-know-man basis. A civil service where indolence and official corruption is the order of the day cannot make any government succeed.
"That is why, if I get the people's mandate to become president, I'll do all in my power to ensure that that status quo doesn't remain. "We are going to review the process of recruitment into the service. "We are going end the era of file-carrying and institute a proper system to ensure transparency and accountability in the running of government business.
"We are going to fully digitalise the whole civil service structure to make it more effective and result-oriented. "Staff would be made to undergo computer training and retraining to bring them to the level we want them to be in the new regime of prompt and efficient service delivery.
"In my time as president, it will no longer be business as usual as only those who are patriotic and progressive-minded, and who have the overall interest of the country at heart will be allowed the opportunity to work in the civil service," he said.

The greatest threat to Nigeria is Ignorance
The APC administration had one plan in stages.
- Research centers and seed developments. We have created seeds that can reach its full growth in half the time partnering with Israel and other countries. APC Buhari Govt have also invested in international training for our young farmers.
- Transport to move goods and services (Eko DeepSeaport, Cargo Airports, Rails and Trains, BRT and Roads
- Build processing centers so we won't be exporting cheaper unprocessed foods and be buying imported food. Lagos is building the largest storage and certification center to export food abroad.
- Diversify - Focus on Agriculture, Gas pipelines under construction, and crude oil
- Last leg is mechanized farming and commodity trading...you can't expand agro farming without storage, transport and processing.
The goal is to have Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa, feed the rest of the Africa. We have the funds, our democracy is more stable, we have our guy as the head of AfBank and our lady at the World Trade. We definitely don't have an informed media, so you have to do research to piece all these things together. |

Do you mean 15 billion dollars? I still feel like African leaders are in the driver's seat. First, don't buy fake promises and create timelines for disbursement. Then after collecting the funds, ask them how much they spent in Ukraine for the stupid war and ask for more. If they say no, continue collecting Russia-China money and investment, and the US will buckle. Instead, the Summit must be rotated from US to Africa because all travels to the US mean we will continue to spend forex. We need them to bring the forex to Africa. If they disagree, create Africa--China and Africa--Russia in African countries, and the US will buckle. Play the game right, and we will take over the World. https://youtube.com/watch?v=AdlMvr9wyiY&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarEMy analysis on AriseNews About 2 years ago during one of the morning shows on CSPAN, the State Dept mentioned that Africa was never a topic of discussion in the US at all. They discuss China and Asia, Europe, North and South America and so on. Then Russia and China came into the picture. Russia started creating bases in Africa to train and work with African forces, and China started investing heavily in Africa...Kenya, DRC, South Africa, Ethiopia, Nigeria and that got the attention of the USA. Then they started the propaganda that Chinese loans will cripple Africa and that they have an agenda. Some Nigerians bought into the lies...but the African leaders returned fire that US should not lecture them. They said, you can advice us or bring your own suggestions on how we develop Africa but we don't need you to tell us we are wrong. US finally figured out...the Slaves have rebelled. They had to appease and try the next strategy...diplomacy which led to the so called US-Africa summit. I still think it's disrespectful to tell all African leaders to come to you when you are not United Nations. I hope the African leaders make it clear that the next Summit must be in an African country. China and Russia have built African ties on mutual respect. US must learn to do the same by fire or by force. |

I don't understand the prevalence of crimes by some Nigerians in the diaspora. Still I will try to come up with my own hypothesis.
1. Families expect too much and put some on undue pressures to do what they can't.
2. Comparison and Peer Pressure...See what your friend is doing for his parents and what he is building for himself.
3. Life abroad is hard and they discover on getting there that it is not what they think it would be. Can't get jobs easily and must survive. Don't have the proper paperwork to make it.
4. Lost it all and borrowed even more funds just to travel, and now in so much debts that they need to resort to crimes just to pay it off...then stay in crimes to survive.
It's a big stain on the Family name, loss of time to languish in jail and very hard to actually make it after a long time in jail.
Please PLAN well, focus on yourself and say NO to family if needed, success takes time and know that hard times don't last forever. Crime does not pay. |

I do not plan to argue...but know this and know peace. The greatest achievement a leader can do is to create or inspire greater leadership in others. The memories of MLK Jr, Kennedys and so on is not in their own personal achievement, but in what they made other people become and contribute. This is where you all miss it. Name one politician that has touched many lives and created many leaders in this dispensation, and ONLY one name stands out. Most of Tinubu's rallies are paid and sponsored by just one or a few people that believe in him. People think its his money that he is spending. Do you know how much wealth the revitalization of Lekki has brought into Nigeria? Anyways, I expect you to say that the Military developed Lekki Penisula as well. You have a blessed day IfnobeGod20: Mr. Man, what has Tinubu done for Nigeria that the like of Sowore, Ojudu, Soyinka, Kola Abiola, Agbakogba, Ayo Obe, Falana have not done ten time above him but these people never carry themselves above the nation? These and more people that tasted prison because of democracy to be restore in Nigeria but have you seen any of them making boast of it, even Sowore that is contesting doesn't even make joke of it. Well, I won't blame Tinubu totally, I only blame his supporters because I have not heard where Tinubu make boast that he has done this or that for Nigeria, if not his supporters that is placing him beyond what he is not. Even families that fought for the independence of the country doesn't make boast of it. You guys need to come down from your high horses and know you can't be bigger than the nation you want to lead or be wiser than the people you want to lead. Go back to history class and you will be taught what you don't know. The owner of ariseTV has been in forefront of fighting for the course of this nation before Tinubu even thought of joining politics. Everything Tinubu did was to his favour because the military rule aborted their services as a senator and he ran outside the country to go and establish Radio Kudirat which he used as an attack to the military rule, which is the same thing Nnamdi Kanu did. So his activity then, can be liken to Kanu's activity today, why people like Sowore, Ojudu, Soyinka, Kola Abiola, Agbakogba, Ayo Obe, Falana were beaten, battered, and molested to the prison. Please can you tell me any prison that Tinubu was held for a minute for the course of Nigeria. None. But you people would want to use wool to cover our eyes while those that really suffered for the democratic restoration between 1993 -1999 doesn't claim any right. If you people think you can push people to submission by the regular attack on the people because they talk against Tinubu, it won't work because all of us cannot sleep and put our heads in one place, says Yoruba adage. |

Great leaders lead...they don't test the wind before moving. That was why GEJ was a monumental failure. We need leaders to follow. Rwanda voted for a leader. Russia voted for a leader. If you think Tinubu thinks highly of himself, well that is your opinion. If I have done half of what he did for Nigeria, I would feel the same way too. Most people don't realize that Tinubu support groups are often headed by one or few people spending their own money to fuel his campaign. Talk about people that believe in his candidacy and in the man...I am happy to say that I have made 3 donations already, and I am still TESTING THE MIC. February will be LOUD. IfnobeGod20: Nobody is playing into anybody's hand, he is the one so pompous and think he is bigger and larger than the society and nation he wants to lead. In developed democracy such cannot happen at all. In a serious country, he would have lost many supporters, including members of his household but in Nigeria we glorify what we ought not to glorify and that is why our leaders are taking us for granted because we've made them bigger than the society. By this your comment, you're still making us to know that Tinubu will only do what he pleases and not what people want. Meaning he will only debate himself and not with his co-contestants. Everyone is playing into the master politician's hand. He will do interviews close to the election I am sure and that will take over the whole news cycle just before people vote. Campaigning stops 1 week before voting. IfnobeGod20: All this ranting would not have needed if Tinubu and his co-travellers have not made themselves the alpha and the Omega of everything, making it look as if they cannot be control by the same very people they want to rule over. I won't say Tinubu want to lead because himself and handlers have shown us the trait that they are out for tyrannical regime by been larger than the society. In the history of our nation this is the first time a presidential candidate will be so pompous to say he will never attend any engagement with other presidential candidate in any TV station and media outlet because he has already scheduled his own programmes. They are invariably telling us the type of regime they want to exhibit. A rulership regime where what they say is the final, forgetting that we are in democratic setting where check and balance is enshrined. The question that you guys have refused to answer within yourselves is, was it only ariseTV that Tinubu has declined their invitation? What is Tinubu and his handlers hiding from Nigeria that he wants to lead? NTA has invited him, he declined. Kadaria has invited him and his Vice, he declined. ChannelTV has invited him, he declined. Some organisations have also invited him but instead sent his Vice to one and declined another. Tinubu is not greater than Nigeria and he will never be greater than Nigeria as they are trying to silent everyone to submission in a tyrannical way. Every civilized nations subject their presidential candidates to scrutiny and Nigeria cannot be an exception. The culture of just organizing rallies and shout, make unrealistic promises should be bygone. Or making a self organize Townhall Meeting with people that will be afraid to ask you critical questions is gone. Candidates should come out plain, if truly they don't have what they are hiding. We've gone beyond this routine jamboree. No matter how compromise a medium may be, if you know your worth and you're competent enough, you will go there and face them with fact. That a station is bias is not an excuse not to be interview by the same set of people, except you don't know your worth. No matter how bias any TV station can be, I don't see people like Osinbajo, Fashola, Amaechi etc running away from any station. Other candidates have been going to these stations and they've not been crucified. So why is he running away from his shadow? |

Watch AriseNEWS with Tundun Abiola, and you will know the difference between real journalists and those pretending to be. Naija Media is the greatest threat to our democracy. They report and debunk their news. How can you carry a fake INEC report during an election cycle? In the USA, those journalists will be off the air because they are trying to influence the election with falsehood During the train abduction, they seem to be on the side of the terrorists banging about the number of days...once released, they began to question whether money was paid or not...journalists investigate not peddle conspiracies or innuendos. Like this article, I have realized that a country where millions follow BBNaija can hardly do critical analysis and research. May God save our media and the Fed Republic of Nigeria.
On the other hand, watch Kayode Okikiolu of Channels TV... He will cite where you are contradicting yourself... point sharp rebuttals without insults and jumping off the chair or telling someone to compare credentials.
