Nuella222:Life is governed by principles, not by some fairy tales. Accidents, coincidence, mistakes, mishaps, and a lot more are principles that govern life. A christian that gives, shall surely receive. A muslim that gives, shall surely receive. A pagan that gives, shall surely receive as well. Principle rules. |
LasoulMacuby:Oh, they paid a ransom for the release of the man of God? Wow, what a miracle. At least, God provided the ransom paid for his release. He really works in mysterious way after all. |
The western world has benefited a lot from science, technology, and civilisation, than Africa has from religion. Religion subdues the brain from deep reasoning and innovation. |
cleoblizz332:I grew up believing everything I was told, preached to, read from the bible. But there came a time when I began wondering..... .. Why did God intentionally harden the heart of pharaoh? because he wants to show off his might with the 10 plagues. Isn't that pure wickedness? .. Why did all the people of Egypt suffer for the decision pharaoh made not to release the Isrealites, when God was the one who hardened his heart? And we're told God is love. ... Who created the Egytians? Who created the Isrealites? Is it right for a creator to take side with certain tribe, just because he chose them as his people, and destroy the the other tribes who refused to worship him?... And we're told to love those who persecute us, pray for those who are against us. Something doesn't add up well. |

RALPHOW:To bring glory to his name, he allows mishap or challenges befall you, then come to your rescue, then gets the glory, right? So how about many cases where he allowed mishaps like kidnapping and armed robbery befall some christians, only to fail to rescue them. Does he get glory for that failure as well? |
Tomorrow is when he learns to accept his loss as his gain. |
What is Oshiomole doing on that list? From being a labour leader to being a governor, how much wld he had earned within the span that amounted to $625m? |
Nuella222:Oh really? So his mysterious ways involve making your kid sick so you'll be absent from work, in order to protect you from harm, and make his other children, the security guard and the store keeper who are likely devoted christians just as you, to be hale and hearty to present to work only to lose their lives. So part of his mysterious ways was to prevent you from going to work that day, and encourage the store keeper to attend work that same day. Isn't that uncanny? Is God playing a game of chess with humans? I used to follow and do everything I read in the bible when my reasoning was still at a low ebb. But with time, imy reasoning expanded and I started wondering lot of things. |
....He's the same yesterday, today, and forever more. The God who struck uzzah dead just because he tried holding on to the ark of the covenant, is the same God who didn't strike some armed robbers who robbed his church in Benin. Hmm |
lepasharon:Oh really? He works in mysterious ways? Does that include the release of the vicar after a ransom must have been paid? |
It's time we started asking some questions.. The book of psalm, 105 vs 15 says... Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm... Does it mean the vicar isn't a real anointed man of God or what? |
yatch360:From logic, if u're asking him to remember his son in the hands of the captors, did he forget the son at first which made the kidnapper succeed? |
fibe:Now I'm forced to ask, why didn't the lord prevent the kidnap in the first place? |
Eluwilussit:It has nothing to do with fear, but wit. Just in case, I can claim what I meant was 'zag, zed, zen, zip, zit, or zoe. In the near future when I get to preside over this country, I don't want any mischief digging up my past utterances and using it against me politically. |
How long will this continue? The herdsmen need the lands lush with grasses. The farmers need their lands bared. They cut down grasses and weeds on the land, in preparation for planting. This doesn't go down well with the herdsmen, whose herds graze on lush vegetation, and at the end, disputes arise. As long as these herdsmen refuse to graze their herds in reserves or ranches, clashes are inevitable. The government should create the reserves for exclusive grazing, whether the herdsmen accept the idea or not. Any herdsman* found grazing his herd outside the reserve should be arrested and charged to court for breaking the law. If this is not done quickly, many lives wld be lost. And this time, the toll will fall on the side of the herdsmen. |
How on earth is Nigeria a developing country with a herd of cattle roaming the administrative city of Nigeria? Allowing these herdsmen roam freely to anywhere the cattle lead them to(I doubt they lead the cattle), clearly confirms this country is a "z**" When are we going to become fully civilised?! |
Accidents are bound to happen. It cld have been the fault of the technical crews who didn't tightly hinge the engine cabin to the passenger cabin . It cld have been the fault of the driver who may have accidentally pressed the disconnect button. I wonder why the minister of transport should resign over an accident that's not his fault. |
doublewisdom:Because he disconnected the train uh? RIP to the departed! |
MarieSucre:If he falls for your friend, then you should heave a sigh of relief that you didn't get to end up with a billy for the rest of your life. It means he's not right for you. And please, don't let the opinions of some NLers get to you. |
MarieSucre:What do you want me to enlighten you on? A woman who wants to save her marriage should save it the right way. How does sleeping with a religious trickster, or a native doctor save her marriage? The problem with Africa is over-spirituality. They believe the spirit realm controls the physical. If that's so, then countries like America, Switzerland, France, UK, have found more favor in the spirit realm than any country in Africa, in spite of our fanaticism in religion. Well, it's in the nature of men who married for marriage sake, to cheat on their wives when the marriages lose savor. No religious succour, or diabolic means, can save or amend such marriages. Single ladies should endeavor necessary tests or checks are put in place to at least ascertain integrity of the men they are into. if I was a lady, I may consider asking a friend to crush on my man to see if he'll admit he's committed to someone else and can't cheat on her, or admit he's committed and stil want to cheat, or deny he's not committed at all. That wld help me ascertain his integrity. |
That's a civilised man for you there. |
MarieSucre:Let me throw the question back at you. What would you do in such situation? I believe you're educated right? |
MarieSucre:Did you read my three quotes at all? I quoted.... "the implication of marrying an uneducated lady" as my first quote. My second quote was a clarification quote to the young man that quoted me. My third was ... Many ladies reason with their hearts, while few reason with their heads. Meaning, many ladies make wrong decisions, while few make the right ones. |
dare2differ:I didn't want to respond to your first quote becos I realised you're a minor. But I think your second quote was quite too far. Am I to exchange words with you or what? I'll let this pass. But next time, don't disrespect people. If you can't quote like a well trained kid, then don't quote at all. |
I couldn't help but laugh. |
goingape:98% reason with their hearts. Just 2% reason with their heads! |
opichika:Country club? .... Yes! Jet club? ....... Yes! Rotary club? .... Yes! But night club? ..... To your risk! |
goingape:Any lady who believes or indulges in such trash isn't 'EDUCATED' at all. She may pass through school, it doesn't make her educated. It only makes her a literate, able to read and write. What makes her educated is school passing through her. She gets to think and reason properly. |
The implication of marrying an uneducated lady. Btw, this is surely the lengthiest post on NL. Too lengthy to read through. |
Polyandry! Well, she wants to eat her cake and have it. |
