BY EGUFE YAFUGBORHI PORT HARCOURT — PREGNANT Florence Onu, 28, was shot dead, Sunday night, in Port Harcourt by armed men who attacked her along Ada George Road, Rumueme. Younger sister to the victim, Ebere Amadi, who witnessed the incident said her sister had a scuffle with the robbers over her handbag containing N50,000 offerings collected during her church’s evening service that day. She said: “We were returning from church service around 8 p.m when we saw a red Audi coming close to us. Next thing, one of them grabbed my sister’s bag. There was dragging as my sister held to the bag. One of them at the back of the vehicle shot my sister as they made away with the bag. She was already dead before we got to a nearby hospital. “The N50,000 in her bag was the offering from the evening service. The pastor asked her to take it home because her husband who is responsible for keeping the church’s money was not in the service that day.” Alex Chidah, a youth leader in the area while reacting to the incident said: “Ada-George Road has become volatile lately. The police need to take note. There is a particular gang parading the area only at night and they have been molesting and killing innocent residents.” Source vanguard 14/05/2013 |
BY CHIDI NKWOPARA OWERRI — THE Imo State Police Command has recovered the remains of a 78-year-old woman, Mrs. Lucy Osigweh, who was declared missing in 2003. Making the revelation, yesterday, state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Katsina, disclosed that the woman’s lifeless body was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine located in her son’s private room. Katsina said: “The missing woman’s lifeless body was found in a village called Ezuru Umuagwu, Ejemekwuru, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.” According to him, “the corpse of the 78-year-old Mrs. Osigweh, earlier declared missing in 2003, was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine of a private room in a circumstance depicting ritual practice. “The embalmed body, which was kept in that condition for about 10 years, was believed to have been placed in the warehouse by her son, Chief Chimezie Osigweh, a 64-year-old retired school principal.” The Imo police boss said there was every reason to believe that the late woman’s son is a member of a sect, adding: “Preliminary assessment of the scene of crime revealed that the late woman must have been murdered by her son for ritual purpose.” Katsina also said members of the sect used to hold secret nocturnal meetings in the place to enhance their occultic powers. “The principal suspect, Chief Chimezie Osigweh, who is the son of the woman, has been arrested and is making useful statement to the police,” the CP said. Although Katsina did not say how the police got wind of the crime, feelers from the late woman’s maiden home, Amakohia, Awa, Oguta local council area, showed that they made the startling discovery. A villager, who spoke on grounds of anonymity, said that angered by the unresolved and inexplicable disappearance of their relation from her marital home, some villagers decided to double check earlier stories bandied by Osigweh. According to a villager, “on getting to Ejemekwuru, our people demanded to know why their relations had remained missing for 10 years. Her son told our villagers that his mother was mad at a point and ran away to unknown place. “Apparently not satisfied with the response, as well as the nonchalant attitude allegedly exhibited by her son, the villagers went beserk, destroying things in sight and ended up spotting the large cupboard containing the remains of their loved one. “With this startling discovery, the villagers quickly lodged a complaint with the police who subsequently swung into action.” Source: vanhuard 14/05/2013 |
2015 is just few weeks away(looks dat way), and it seems like dis is d 1st time there is going to be a politically masterminded terror prior to elections! Now its a fair game,: GEJ have niger delta ex-millitants behind him, bokoharam is solidly behind Buhari and the northern interest. I will like to term it BOKO-HARAM VS EX-MILLITANTS for 2015! I tell u what: we are about witnessing an election without vote cast, its terror vs terror! |
U cannot be more clearer dan u ar nw on ur stand. In essence u ar still under d law and not under grace. If ur above analysis is true, I wonder d place of grace in christianity. I may not be gud in quoting scriptures as u, but I sure knw dat if it is by d deeds of d law, Paul said dat no one shall be saved, 4 all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Justification by faith: does dis word ever cross ur mind? Dat xtians are not justify by keeping d law? And dat we are justified by faith? If indeed we are justified by d deeds of d law, wat den did Christ died 4? We are made righteous by puting faith in Christ, by believing in His ransome sacrifice, Paul made it clearer dat we are not under d law, but under grace! But den Paul cried out and asked: shall we continue in sin dat grace may abide! He said ''God forbid'' No one can please God by keeping d law. D righteousness God sees in us was imputed on us by Christ. D bible says dat by one man's sin(Adam) sin came into d world, even so shall by one man's righteousness(Christ) shall many be made righteous. Obviously u are a pastor or a devoted xtian, but I knw dat am not under Torah(law) as u called it, am under grace, and am justified not by d deeds of d law, but by having faith in Christ. So if u claim dat u can be justified by keeping d law of Moses, u dnt need Jesus! Jesus and Moses are both mediators of d covenant, Moses only forshadowed d greater mediator which is Christ, but when Christ(our mediator) came, he fulfilled d law and d prophets. Dat is y we are not justified by keeping d law. As u study more on d word of God, may Holy Spirit open ur heart to axept d devine provision of grace, den and only den can u be free from d law! |
9icetoo: Now being a born again student, what should the olodo have done? keep quiet and accept what he wrongly got or report the anomally as he should justly do and is commanded in the bible. Mind you, if he keeps quiet, that would be robbery, stealing, reaping where he didnt sow. There you have it folks. *takes a bow*It is ppl like dis olodo student dat will receive a credit alert frm der bank acct and conclude dat its because he/she paid his tithe dat is y d bank made a mistake on his acct, dey will go on to testify its God's blessing! |
There is somtin confusing here from what pro-law keepers are saying. Is it not a clear bible teaching dat we are not under d law? Even as ignorant I am as a xtian, I knw dat d law was fulfilled by Christ, and therefore nolonger binding on us. Pls those of u claiming d law still binds xtians, can u clearly convince me y I shud remain under law and not under grace 4 wch Christ died 4? Pls be honest fellow xtians..........are we still under the law? |
musKeeto: If you don't understand spiritual things, why not ignore? Is it your keyboard or internet connection they use to type amen?Gullible and carnal ppl refering to demslf as xtians, so its all about money now? Its now a criteria of measuring God's favour. Nowonder u guyz are easily deceived! |
[quote author=Qkeyxyz]The Law includes the Ten Commandments and every ordinance that followed it. All are abolished and done away with. Every law that was given by\to Moses, starting from exodus(you left out exodus). This means that all definitions of the law are no longer valid. The definition of righteousness and sin are no longer as the law defined them(or as we understood the law). Yes u are right, d law includes d 10 comandment and exodus. And evry ordinance dat come with it ended when Christ died. |
According to Col 1:14, Apostle Paul thought Christians dat they are nolonger under the law. ''The handwriting of ordinance written against us, which consisted of decrees and which was in opposition to us, and He(Christ) have taken it away nailing it to the cross. He(Paul) also taught dat d law was our school teacher leading us to Christ. Jesus said: ''I did not come to break d law, I have come to fulfil dem. After d rebelion in Edem, there was a need to prepare a people who will pave d way for the Christ to come. The Jews as a chosen people were given some sets of laws to abide by, until the Christ come. It is expected that once the Mesiah comes, these laws will be obselete. What are these laws? They are particularly entrenched in the books of Leviticus through Numbers and Deuteronomy. There are series of sacrifices, burnt offerings, the composition of the terbanacle, the pristly duties, the annual and other festivals, and there is the law of TITHING! All these must be done away with after d last sacrifice done by Christ on d cross. How did d law became a tutor leading us to Christ? Evrything written on the law and prophets point to the Mesiah, it prepares the minds of the Jews for the coming of the Savior of the world. That is why Jesus said shortly before His death that ''everything that was said by the law and prophet concerning the SON of man have been fulfilled''. Therefore because Christ died for our sins, he bore the borden of the law with Him, that we may be free from the law. What we should be living on today is the law of libery, wch is the law of Christ! What is dis law? It simply says: love God with all ur heart, with everything u gat, and also love ur nebor as u love ursef, besides this there is no other law! So let no man deceive u that there are some laws that are valid, and some are invalid, all the laws where blotted out for us! Some people hold on to tithes so much dat they put it as a debt we owe God, dat must be paid, thereby putting back dat law and burden dat Christ died 4 back 2 us. Why only tithe these men hold on to? Why are they not doing burnt offering and animal sacrifices? Why are the not celebrating those old traditions of the jews? Besides those laws where given to the Jews, and not 4 the whole world. ''My people perish because of lack of understanding'' until Christians start following Christ and not human leaders, they will continue to be in bondage. The law have been ablished after the death of Christ, therefore let no man put u back under those laws! |
Degis: Ignorant poster, Ignorant commentators. Truly, if you want to hide anything from a black man, then put it in a book.U are d ignoramus here, simple and clear post u can't read, tell me what u wrote now dat I did not read. U are just a brainwatched follower of those fraudsters dat parade demselves as MOgs |
Ok |
MORN DEW: If u say dis about Oritsejafor den 80% nigerian pastors are not christiansDats d point, how can evryone dat jst call Lord be 4 Christ? By der fruits u shall knw dem, especially when christianity is mixed with political sychophancy! |
I have been on the sidelines watching as the wheat is been separated from the chaff. It seems very easy these days to be a ''man of god''(MOG) than to be a ''child of God''(COG) When we want to simply know the true identity of a people, we simply findout about their leaders. If truly CAN is the body of true christians in Nigeria, I may as well conclude that there are no christians in Nigeria. By way of definition, the word christian means ''Christlike'' someone who behaves like JESUS CHRIST, the SON of GOD. Christians represent Christ here on earth. This means if Christ were to be on earth now, he will be doing exatly what christians are doing now. Ok using Nigeria as example, there is an umbrella body knwn as CAN, and there is its leader who represents them. So my points here is the general view of this pastor Ayo, in the eyes of the world: 1. He is not a gentleman: this man is knwn as a raskal, with his military aproach towards isues, u can tell he can resort to physical fights in making his points. Jesus is the opposit of a raskal, our LORD is gentle in appearance, and he can never be controvercial. So papa is definitly not like Christ in this one. 2. He is highly placed among politicians: this man is a friend of politicians, infact you can hardly see an isue of political stake that he does not interfer. Jesus In his days took know part in politics, he separated Himself from the circular world. Oritsejafor is definitly not like Christ in this one. 3. He is materialistic: Jesus said: the foxes have holes, the birds have nests, but the SON of man have nowhere to lay his head, this pastor suddenly saw the need why he should live above Christ, he have seen the need why a private jet is necessary for the gospel, he must have preached morethan Christ! Our LORD did not own a horse or an ass, the only one He used, He simply borrowed it. Can we now say this pastor is like Christ? 4. He have turned the house of prayer into the house of thiefs: this pastor along with his co-hots are now bigtime investors and economic giants. You can hardly see a so called great MOG without other investments, eg schools. The most expensive university around in Nigeria belongs to these MOGs, and worst still thesame members who contributed to these skuls pays huge sum to get their children there, this is broadday light robbery! Indeed the house of prayer have been turned into the house of thieves! 5. This man is a suspected weed smoker: the way this man is acting, one can easily decipher that he is into drugs, specifically indian hemp! Our LORD can never be associated with such acts, papa is definitly not like christ! 6. This man believes that the government can better the life of Christians: more often than not, this man have expressed sentiments that our political leaders can bring an end to our sufferings, and bring peace to mankind, that is why you can hardly separate him from politics. Our LORD made it clear that His kingdom is not of this world! Therefor this MOG is not a believer in the kingdom of Christ! Six points to the core! This does not mean there are no true christians in Nigeria, but definitly not CAN or there leaders! That is why Christ asked a rhetorical question: ''when the SON of man arrives, will HE find faith on the earth''? This question should ring in our hearts as we truly try to consider these ''millions'' as faithful christians. |
*No repraisal attack on the community— Olubolade. By Ben Agande, Abuja. President Goodluck Jonathan Friday, met with heads of all the security agencies in the country to review the murder of over eighty members of the Nigeria Police Force in Nasarawa and the Bama attack in Borno states. The meeting which lasted for about two and half hours had in attendance, the Chief of Defence staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, the Chief of Naval Staff, Dele Ezeoba, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar and the the Director General of the State Security Service, Ita Ekpenyong. The Chief of Army staff was represented by Maj. General Emmanuel Bassey, Chief of Policy and plans in the Army Headquarters. Though the security chiefs declined to speak with the press, the Inspector General of Police who wore a black arm band to the meeting, described the murder of the police officers as a sad development for the country before he was shielded into his waiting car by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba and the Director General of the State Security Services, Ita Ekpenyong. But the Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade who attended the meeting briefly before he was excused to allow the president meet with the service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police separately told Journalists that though the killing of security personnel who are paid to protect Nigerians is a sad development, the police would not carry out a reprisal attack on the community because it will not solve the problem. According to him, “it is sad that those who are protecting lives and property are becoming the targets of various insurgents and criminality be it political or otherwise. “The security agencies particularly the police will not want to go and revenge, it is not going to help us because they are supposed to protect lives and property; going to revenge will not douse tension and will bring about lack of confidence in the system. So, we will strictly discourage that” he said. |
Hey guyz u can make frnds on ma thread, beware of my 8points though |
By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA – Angered by the arrest calls that trailed his comment, Monday, that peace will elude Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan is not returned in 2015, the Niger Delta frontline Activist and Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has dared the House of Representatives and the security agencies to arrest him if they can muster the courage to do so even as the former Governor of old Anambra state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife opined that arrests should start with people who had made similar comments in the past. Arrest me if you can, Asari dares IG, Reps, others Asari who is the former President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) also said that any attempt to arrest him will mark the end of Nigeria and called the authorities coward if eventually the threat of his arrest was not affected. Speaking in a Press Conference in Abuja Thursday, Asari said he does not bat an eyelid over his previous comment on 2015, stressing that he stands by his words that there will be no peace in the country if Jonathan is not re-elected for a second term in office in 2015. His words: “I stand by my statement which I made in my early press conference, there will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta, but everywhere, if Goodluck Jonathan is not president by 2015, and I want to add that the Fulanis, who migrated and invaded our lands and continue to show disregard and disrespect to the owners of the country they came into, and people have tolerated them for a very long time will no longer continue.” Source: vanguard 09/05/2013 |

ABUJA—South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday, came under attack over reports credited to him that the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, cannot be governor of Delta State, come 2015. Reacting to the remarks, former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, to Elder Orubebe, Mr. Ekenwan Ekwagbe, said Chief Clark has no power to stop Orubebe from realising his governorship ambition in Delta State in 2015. Ekwagbe told Vanguard in Abuja, that the remarks on Orubebe by Chief Clark were unbecoming of an elder statesman well respected in the region and beyond. He said Chief Clark cannot stop Orubebe from becoming the governor of Delta state, advising the elder statesman to stop playing God because he is not. He said: “E.K Clark’s press conference, that come 2015, Elder Orubebe cannot be governor of Delta State, doesn’t disturb anybody. It doesn’t move anybody because we know where we are coming from and where we are going. All of us in Delta State, in Burutu Local Government Area, where both E.K Clark and Elder Orubebe come from, know each other. We know ourselves. “In the last elections in 2011, a former Speaker in Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Frank Enukura, decided to contest election to the House of Representatives. E.K Clark put forward his son, Ebikime, to contest for the same office under the platform of Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, and wanted everybody, irrespective political party, that was contesting the election, to step down for his son. “But they all refused. At the end of the day, Frank Enukura defeated his son at the primaries of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The boy had to defect to DPP. He used that platform to contest the main election in 2011. “Frank Enukura, son of a fisherman in Burutu council, whose parents toiled day and night on the rivers, fishing to train him, defeated E.K Clark and his son, not just his son because it was E.K Clark who contested the election indirectly. So, if E.K Clark’s son cannot win election in Burutu council, can he determine who becomes governor of the entire Delta State?” On the said Orubebe’s embarrassment of President Jonathan through indicating of interest in the governorship race, the SA noted that Clark had caused a lot of embarrassment to President Goodluck Jonathan in the history of the administration through his utterances by attacking highly placed individuals. It may seem astounding that a guy would want to end a good relationship, let alone a great one. However, not even the best relationships are immune from ending. Read on for the top eight reasons that would make a guy end a relationship when everything is running smoothly: 1. He feels that you want more in the relationship than what he is ready to offer you: You may feel that it's time to take the relationship to the next level, but he is comfortable at the level you two are at. He may be happy to just date and enjoy your company. You may want to move in together while he is comfortable living in separate places. Perhaps you are even expecting a commitment or an engagement. If you want to push the relationship to the next stage and he is not ready for it, then don't be surprised if this guy bails on you. 2. He doesn't want to put his eggs in one basket: He still wants to date other women. Or even if he is not dating anyone else, he may still want to keep the door open for the possibility that the grass is greener on the other side. This doesn't mean that he doesn't care about or like you. It does mean that he is fearful of missing out on finding someone better. 3. He's not ready for the "L" word: It could be that you are open to being in love with your beau, but he just wants to ride along on the train of companionship. He may enjoy your company and his relationship with you, but the "love" word may tell him that you want to be his wife. If you are thinking about throwing the "L" word out there to him, just be aware that he may not reciprocate. It may be wise for you to wait for him to say it first so that you know for a fact he is ready to love you. If he is reserved, then be aware that it may take him a good year, if not longer to let you know how he feels about you. 4. He still enjoys his friends and his independence: Your guy may only want to occasionally date because he enjoys his space, his freedom and being with his friends more than spending time with you. Besides preferring the company of his buddies, he is fearful of losing his personal space and guy time. If he is always talking about his friends or his friends are constantly around him, be prepared for an eventual breakup. This guy will end a great relationship with you, rather than risk losing his friendships. 5. He hears his friends talk about their bad relationships: Your relationship may end because your guy has friends who are in bad relationships. If his friends are complaining about their partners, your guy may fear that you will be just like their women. Let him know that you are different. If someone complains about the psycho woman who wants to know where her man is at all times, tell your guy that you would never do anything like that to him because you also need your space. It will help to calm his fears. 6. He may feel insecure about his future: Many men find their identity through their work. If they have no job, then they have no identity. If your guy is still in the process of building his future, he may feel inadequate with you. He may feel concerned that he cannot offer you much and feels insecure. It won't be until his future is set with a wonderful career and financial success that he feels ready for a loving relationship. 7. He thinks settling down means less sex: Sex is the glue to any relationship. If you two move in together or marry, he may feel that as months or years go by, you will lose the sex drive you once had with him. This is often based on what men tend to hear from their friends or from their own personal experiences, especially if they have been married before. 8. He just got out of a serious relationship and isn't ready to get serious again: If your guy just got out of a serious relationship or a divorce he may just be looking to date you. He doesn't want to rush into anything and it may be a few months or even a few years before he considers another serious involvement. This guy may be open to having a relationship with you, but does not want to feel pressured into making another commitment until he is ready. Communicate with your partner on where both of you stand with regards to relationships. If you communicate about your own wants and needs, then you may be able to save yourself a lot of heartache in the future. There are many guys out there who are willing to be open and honest with women on what they want and expect from a relationship. You may fear hearing the truth or would prefer to ignore it. But if you don't face the truth now, you will likely regret it later on. |

I have been wondering about the concept of resurrection and the beliv that when a righteous man dies, he goes to heaven immediately. From what I understand by resurrection, it is calling back to life that one who is dead. Death is the opposit of life. If my understanding is right then these questions need answers: 1. Is resurection returning people from heaven to earth? 2. Since the bible says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous, those in hell are they resurected back to earth? 3. Are the dead actually dead since they are either in heaven or hell enjoying or suffering? 4. If the righteous dead are in heaven why do they need resurrection from heaven to earth? 5. Is the believe that once a righteous man dies he goes to heaven compatible with resurrection? I can't quote scriptures here because am a muslim considering Christianity, can any1 support his answers with scriptures? |
Greetings to the house. Some of the courses I have registered for didn't appear in my TMA, last semester it didn't appear in exams as well. Is it possible to de-register those courses? I have two of such isues now. Any ideas...............? |
kasiem: So if buhari dies dat means nigeria will have no hope again, this buhari must be more dan christ. Anyway, birds of a feather flock together. Brainless and violent leaders groom brainless and violent followersIt will be blasphamous to compare Buhari to Christ! Am not in anyway doin dat. My opinion is basically in our present dispensation. Goin by what we hav around in ASO rock, curruption will only eat dipper into our economy. Buhari is merely an imperfect man jst like u n me, but it takes a man of his caliber n principles can bring currupt officials to book |
