I agree with you that politicians use religion but that is a different ball game from saying politics and nation building can not be possible without religion.

Think of your own people instead of looking at people whose culture is not tied to religion. Today 98% of the world's population is controlled by religion or it's other form.
So thinking there could ever be a world without religion is like expecting a car to move without fuel in it.
