Quite true. JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES are actually one of the few denominations who are still following Christ. Most churches now are headed by motivational speakers who only use the name of Jesus to preach other things. The goal is to attract members to their church and the members will bring the money.

Permission differs from Order!

David took many wives and he was allowed because Christ has not come to set matters straight regarding what will be allowed in Paradise but after Christ has come to settle that he will raise David back to life in Paradise {John 5:28-29} by that time Christians living on earth will teach David what the Christ said regarding man and wife which he must adhere to otherwise he (David) will face eternal damnation! Revelations 20:11-15

The context of the verse is that of God, speaking through a prophet (Nathan), calling out David for David's sin of taking another man's wife (Bathsheba, wife of Uriah the Hittite), which is adultery indeed, and for setting up the death of Uriah the Hittite to try to hide David's sin.

Also, at the point in time of this situation, David had already been married to at least seven known-named wives. (1 Samuel 18:27, 25:42-43, 2 Samuel 3:2-5.)

But, in this verse 12 (above), God was not condemning David for all his wives! In fact, this verse 12 shows God Himself actually saying that HE was the One Who had GIVEN David His wives.

If God was against David's polygamy, He certainly would not have said that He had GIVEN David his wives.

But the LORD did not stop there. That verse 12 shows that the Lord took it even one step further than that! The LORD God even went on further to say that if David had wanted more wives, the Lord Himself said that He would have given David even more!

It was only because David had sinned, in committing adultery by taking another man's wife, and then causing that man's death to try to hide David's sin, that the Lord was calling him out through the prophet Nathan. There was no sin in the polygamy at all.

This is later confirmed that this was the only matter by 1 Kings 15:5, which says the following:

"Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. "
1 Kings 15:5.

Two verses before that, in 1 Kings 15:3, the Bible says that David's heart was perfect with the LORD God.

Very clearly, therefore, what all this shows is that God is the One Who gives wives, even when more than one wife.

This is, of course, confirmed by 1_Corinthians 7:17.

"But as God hath distributed to every man,
as the Lord hath called every one,
so let him walk.
And so ordain I in all churches."
1 Corinthians 7:17.

Be it
NO wife,
ONE wife, or
MORE THAN ONE wife,
it is only has God calls and gives.

As such, it is clear that the Bible does, in fact, explicitly show

"Yes, God did condone polygamy."
"Yes, God allowed it, and He was not against polygamy."
"Polygamy is not a man's idea, but God's".
"Yes, God did approve of polygamy."
In 2 Samuel 12:8, He Himself said so!

First of all it is clearly stated in the dictionary definition (read it again above) that neighbor is about PHYSICAL closeness, not global village. Secondly, are you saying that everyone was NOT neighbor when Christ gave the parable because there was no global village but have now suddenly become neighbors? Stupidity, we'er talking what Christ meant. If you concede Christ never meant everyone was neighbor because there was no global village back then, then what is the discussion about?? Bottom line: Your enemy or oppressor living far away is NOT your neighbor under any of the definitions, though you should also love him as yourself!

Being a child of God is in itself personal. A pastor or evangelist that preaches in church may not genuinely profess & accept Jesus as his personal saviour. If you have met with disappointments in your life endeavour, you can decide to be going to the mountains with your Bible and be doing your own thing. What matters is your ability to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour. Do good and be nice to people, attend crusade and do your prayers. Although, it is good to attend churches 'cos we were told not to forsake the gathering or companies of people of God, but there are so many evil ones among the acclaimed men of God all around. The theme of scriptures from beginning to the end is God's Kingdom.
David was one of the strongest advocates of God's Kingdom he lived all his life in harmony with that purpose!

When he stood before Goliath everyone was scared thinking the Warlord will kill David like an ant but David said:


“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. From the above statement we can all see why the true God chose David to lead his people. David tolerates no rivalry for the armies of the true God and he is ever ready to answer when called for service as a soldier for the sanctification of God's name!

Of course he committed blunders as an imperfect human but just mention the name of the true God while stating how he messed up and see how David will bow low to accept he was wrong!

Is there anything else God is asking from imperfect humans?

Note that everlasting life will comes after they have formed a global family through preaching and teaching of God's Kingdom this is what Isaiah and Micah prophesied! Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3

So which of all these groups claiming Christians have successfully achieved what Jesus foretold breaking the barriers of racism and nationalism so that an individual in Russia feels closely related to his neighbor in Ukraine ready to disobey any order from anyone saying he should raise weapons against his neighbor?
