Shunning comes from Jesus' teaching.
He commanded that if a dispute arises between two believers (both are Christians) one who feels offended should approach the offender and table the matter, if the offender admit his wrong then the offended has gained back his brother in faith {Matthew 18:15} but if the offender is adamant claiming he is right then the offended should take another believer with him so they can convince him to apologize but if he still disagree then the matter will be taken to the elders (representing Christ) whatever makes the offender disagree with the body of elders then he should be shunned just as Jews do to tax collectors among them! Matthew 18:16-17
That is how shunning or disfellowship was established by Christ himself and from that time disciples of Christ were shunning unrepentant wrongdoers! Romans 16:17; Titus 3:7; 2John 1:10-11

But the enemies of faith aren't our own enemies for real.
Why?
The animosity they have against us isn't about us in person rather it's against the faith (our beliefs) so we should love them by doing everything manly possible to help them know the reason for our strong faith! Matthew 5:43-48 compare to 24:9

It's not WORD but UNDERSTANDING.

When Jesus talked about a slap he was referring to disrespect or ridicule we all know that a slap is not meant to hurt but to humiliate so as Christians we will shock the haughty one by proving to be the most lowly after all he that is down already need fear no fall.

You need to know the difference between a Beroean and an apostate.

A Beroean listens and goes back to see if everything is scriptural then comes back for clarification if there is need for it but an apostate kicks against all the teachings after observing a flaw then start calling everyone to go against the teaching.

If those that translated have any integrity in them what they should have called Jesus is Joshua as a closer pronouciation.

"War" (by you or a proxy) is the only thing that stops another person from taking your property.
