bestman09: That is how it should be. Anybody that needs land for his personal business or farm should be ready to buy. No free land anywhere I don't even know why all the state governors are not investing massively in cattle rearing. If cattle becomes available everywhere, no one would buy from those killing humans fro their animals. But how can FG allow movement of cows from place to place in 2018! And the senate and house of rep keeps quiet. This is the worst impunity I have seen in any nation |

ladybug2: No, they only paid one year. I have emailed the coordinator to remind and ensure they know they still owe us for another session/year and it is now overdue for most of us. So before NDDC decides to take us for another ride, rest assured we will not relent until they settle us once and for all. Glad you have been paid. I fear for those owed two years. We are very few and the commission might not receive enough pressure to surrender payment as they will keep touting the current payment around. Knowing Nigerians, they wont even that sympathetic towards our course as they will feel we should be grateful that one year was paid even! But the money is so big we can't pay for it ourselves and we are still in same pot of debt as before |

For they not to be seen as bias, that is why they are also against Christians as they are against Muslim. They are just afraid to face high level terrorism as it is becoming the case. But what is rely offensive is to favor one religion over the other. I am not supporting China in their actions. Just trying to explain their rational for their actions. Christians, no matter fanatical they are, do not kill. But fanatical Muslim don't see killing of others as sin. But Christianity in the hands of illiterate is dangerous. They become lazy and undeveloping. |

That includes muslim and christianity. They are even doing this because of Islam. Recently, muslim terrorists have been attacking china and they think it is fair, although not reasonable, to were out all.religious bodies. But a muslim country doing that would amount to persecution of christians |

It is a shame they have to be pushed by FG to fulfill their obligations She did answer me about the two year session. She said they haven't start processing 2nd year tuition. The tone didn't seem reassuring. She sounded like there isn't fund for that. Very few people are owed two sessions and usually those in PhD program. In September (2017), she emailed me to request for my personal and school bank address which I provided so I will really be pissed if for any reason I don't receive my dues cos they did this April Fool to us last year March. I have sent her an email as we speak to clarify.
I hope they pay both cos I have submitted all the invoices. Whatever the case, I will inform the house as soon as account gets credited in real time, God willing. I just checked my school account and found I have been paid. Whereas I have two sessions outstanding, only one session was paid for. Just letting you to know there is truth about received payment. I am hoping you receive yours today. Mine is in the United State anyway so it might be due to country difference. However it is good you constantly remind them as anything goes with this commission. xfire: Hello everyone,
Following the highly successful outcome of the maiden edition of the Xfire Nairaland Undergraduate Quiz Competition held last year, I hereby formerly declare open the 2nd Edition.
The first edition was highly competitive with about 300 screened applicants partaking in the online test. The eventual winner, a 400 level Medicine and Surgery student from UNIBEN (exe0) received a total cash prize of N170, 000 (N60,000 from myself supported by N100, 000 from InvertedHammer and N10, 000 from Ariel20.
The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed winners also received various cash prizes while the 6th to 15th placed winners received N1, 000 recharge cards each courtesy of GraceBestowed who contributed N10, 000.
In the maiden edition, final year students were exempted. But in this edition and subsequent ones, it will be thrown open to all undergraduates. So expect the program to be more competitive.

A cash prize of N10, 000 each will be given to the 4th and 5th best as consolation.
This year and going forward, I will be stepping down as the overall coordinator of the competition. A well respected mod in Education section Richiez will be the overall coordinator with Odunayo providing support.
Richiez will provide details on the criteria for selection, modalities of the tests, registration period, etc. in the post below this and follow-up threads. He (alongside Odunayo) will also be responsible for attending to your enquiries.
Other well wishers are free to pledge additional financial support for the winners.

all d grammatical abracadabra about how intellectually empty the black man is have been said yet no credible solution? you may not get justice in this part of the world but what I know about lawsuit based on experience that I once worked in a law firm is that people sue for the most insane things even in Nigeria. it may not work but it will send shivers if properly handled that NDDC scholars sued the people that has cheated them over and over again. do you know you can sue both present NDDC board, MNDA and even the past NDDC board members that sent you into limbo in a foreign land. justice may not come but if scholars drag the issue even if it means an appeal and refuse to backdown even up. we'll make frontpage for the world to see besides there are lawyers that will accept such cases for the publicity it brings them and at very little cost too. enuf said since God knows when wise up Black man ...wise up I have no notice of payment. I can check real time when it comes. I cannot verify if anyone had received payment. You make a valid point. Lawsuit is very effective in redressing wrongdoing. Again, Nigerians just have aversion for it. I know of a graduate student who sued a Nigeria University for keeping him for 4 years for a two years programme he was doing and how they have ruined his finances, time and career. He was awarded 5million naira for the delay by the court against his institution. |

bizme: Some so-called students have no business being within the figurative four walls of a university. They latch on every conceivable, real and unreal cause to hold the entire school to ransom. The interesting thing is that such students are in the minority, while the majority of the law-abiding students lament silently that their school calendar is being frivolously hijacked from them.
Students should open their eyes. In public schools whether you write exams or not, the salaries and promotions of the lecturers remain unaffected. Whether you graduate in record time in multiples of the record time, the lecturers have absolutely nothing to lose. This hooliganism that our educational institutions practises in the name of student unionism is beneath the level of individuals professing to be educated... Students should stop hiding behind the veil of student unionism to insult people who are not their mates. Intellectualism should be the way forward for our students, not hooliganism. And yes, the university administration reserves the right to proscribe the student union. As strong as OAU student union was it was proscribed and heavens did not fall. No the University administration cannot arbitrary proscribe student union government. That is the body that fights for the right of every students. The executive can only be impeached through parliamentary action of the student's body. Only a despot can ban a body fighting against its excesses. |
