godwinkessi: I have a 2007 Es 350, I was driving home from work and it showed me some check engine lights, vsc lights and traction control signs. The car would start but won't drive forward nor backward when the gears are engaged. What could be the problem? Transmission issue most likely. Any previous indication. Since your MIL is on run a scan |

To start with what was the scan result let's know which of the catalyst was indicated in the scan result. You have 3 catalytic converter on that vehicle. We need to know which is bad from your scan result |

radautoworks: No it doesn't. Mine isn't. I only use it when needed. My car has been here for 3.5 years and no issues. Y'all create most of your car issues on your own. Even China and India don't need it on all the time. That reason exactly is why there are so many AC issues in Nigeria. But more money for AC shops I guess.
Like I said earlier, y'all do you and we'll do us. How does this cause AC problem. Far from it. Study the environment well by then you would be able to know what kills AC in naija |

radautoworks: I'm not sure how being in Nigeria affects the facts started above but do you. Pushing your compressor harder and affecting gas mileage to avoid dust is a little bass ackwards to me but do you. He is very correct. When you drive past a trailer with 100% emission into the ecosystem. How do you control this. The AC circulation button helps close up the flap from the inside underneath your dash so as to prevent ram air from entering into your vehicle |

livewithpurpose: Good Evening everyone. Please my Honda Civic wasn't starting, the mechanic fixed a new fuel pump and filter, serviced the injector and it was working fine. But I noticed after a while and when I put the AC on, it drags. I also can't accelerate past 2000 RPM. Please what could be the problem?
I've attached a photo of the diagnostic report I did two weeks ago. Fix the throttle position sensor issue and you should be fine. Tell your mecho to check it on the throttle body aka injector mouth |

bonnez: Friends,
I own a 2005 Ford Escape with over 300,000 mileage but still very strong. The car developed a fault recently and when diagnosed I was told two cylinders had shut downhence the car couldn't drive well. The mechanic said my brainbox had gone bad and I coughed out money for another one. It was programmed and drove the car with my old key and seemed to work perfectly for about a week and the same thing happened again, blowing an ignition coil in the process. Now I'm told I have to buy another brainbox of which I am not just comfortable with. The mechanics/electricians I've contacted seem not to be able to race the root cause of the problem.
I am worried that a new brainbox may get bad also if the cause of the problem is not detected.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Pls help. Your vehicle uses a fuel pump module. Just right underneath the vehicle at the rear close to the fuel tank(driver's side). If any form of funny electrical connection has even been done there. You would experience such. I could remember back then in 2014 a client came with same issue, inshort she brought in three ecu's funny enough all were burnt. Most mecho are used to looping directly both the +ve, -ve and ground and signal on the circuit. They believe its a way of by passing the module there by making the fuel pump push adequate amount of fuel |

Some price scanning as low as 1000. When you have a professional scantool and you are charged 1350usd for yearly update subscription. What then should be the right fee to charge. As small as a ford fiesta is. I saw a quotation of close to 600k when I was training overseas . |

Just ensure your transmission shifts well. Sooner or later you might be on your way to get another transmission. It's a very common practice amongst the road side mecho.once your vehicle starts Oyo!!. Remembered changing one for a Toyota Matrix 2003. Was eventually given a corolla's ecu saying it would. Long story short had to order one using its previous part number. That price sounds suspicious though |

You were close to having an engine lock. Here is another question here for you. What viscosity of engine oil have you been using. Expect to have the following changed
1) timing chain 2) timing chain damper 3) camshaft sprocket 4)timing chain adjuster (upon inspection) 5) camshaft bearings( upon inspection)
Lastly I hope your engine is sludge free. Reason for the question, if otherwise that's more commitment of funds What engine type do you have in it |

homeboy205: Well it’s a cheap fix and it worth trying
Well it’s a cheap fix and it worth trying since there is no physical leaks under the hood, and the car is not smoking and the interval which oil gets to low mark, that means the oil is escaping bit by bit and burning off in the combustion... If it is piston ring, he will surely notice the smoke because it will burning off instantly in the combustion... Your last paragraph doesn't apply most time. If it's a case of PCV valve he can't drive that long distance before the engine finally locks. |
Car Talk › Re: Help Please!!!!! Toyota Camry Short Oil. by mayor2013: 5:16pm On Jan 02, 2019 |
homeboy205: PLEAEE HOLD ON AND READ THIS BEFORE THINKING ABOUT RINGING
Do you know 2AZ-FE has something called PCV(Positive ventilation Valve) on the engine cover that draw out unused pressure caused by oil pump in the engine The pressure is transferred to your intake box and contribute to air and fuel mixture in other to attain optimal performance...
This is the case
It is really a cheap fix... Note: the valve will always go faulty in two ways. It might be faulty in open loop, or faulty in close loop... if faulty in open loop it will allows oil from your engine to escape through the valve to the intake box whereas it burnt off as air and fuel mixture in the combustion.. If faulty in closed loop it will throw a misfire error code but in your case let’s assume it’s faulty in open loop...
This has happened to my Toyota Camry 2002 2AZ-FE before and I fixed it myself, it was faulty in open loop and I was losing oil no leak but I was sure it was not my piston ring cos I just had it rebuilt 2 months prior. On checking it the spring in the valve has broken so oil is always sucked from there. I just went to Gate spare part and bought another for #1000... 22’ Ring spanner that needed in losing it... came home and fixed it myself.. voila it fixes no more oil shortage.
The valve is at the back of the engine on the engine cover there is a hose that go all the way to your intake on top....
Please and please give this a try before thinking about anything it’s a really cheap fix This is not a PCV valve case |
