Gbaj: Thanks or your prompt reply. The ATF was changed a year ago. Have had the knock sensor codes for about a year too. Could it be the tranny filter? Fix the knock sensor issues. A common issue on the 1MZ-FE engine. For sure you would have transmission shift issues |

legalwealth: Is it already on Nigeria soil?
Reason for that is because I actually wanted to import one 2008 which was going for 10,000$ myself from USA around September but due to some reasons and constraints, I had to divert the money to something else so that I could buy say 2010 model later.
Urgent need for a car I need to use for travelling (since my EOD customs issue was discovered around mid October that it can no longer be used for travelling) made me got myself into the mess explained at https://www.nairaland.com/4895806/re-opinion-highly-urgently-needed . sooperrescue: Mayor2013, my oga at the top. I wrote about Mobil 1 for hondas and Toyota. I also advised that duramax should tell everyone to use it for hondas and Toyota and Kia cars. That way, it will serve its purpose. What is on the spec sheets for the atf is not on the can for Ford transmission. I will show you the picture of the can when I get to the workshop. They should follow the path of GLife and rephrase the usage to Japanese cars. You glossed over the meaning of advanced full synthetic oil and full synthetic oil. Will Volvo recommend it for their cars? Would you join the league when advanced full synthetic is sold |

This a theoretical forum. Speak of only what you have tried not what you hear all say. Do you know the so-called mobil 1 every one calls upon doesn't suit all vehicle. A client of ours who uses mobil1 on his Honda Accord 2008 i4 complained about shorter oil change interval. 2months OCI limit is reached. Until I told him to change to duramax that stopped. Take a look at what the engine looks like in the inside with the use of duramax 5w20. 4 years now

helpishere: Sooperrescue asked a question about the ATF. Why can't the oil be used in all Ford vehicles that requires Sp,lv since it's a dexron 6 and it's current. All ATF made from the US always claim to work with the three American car companies in the transmission fluids but a dexron 6 that works on only Mercon V for Ford vehicles is to be wary of. Ford Taurus uses Mercon V. Even Oando dexron 111h claims to work with Mercon V. We don't have to follow the them say crowd, every practitioner must stand up to defend their customers cars. Is Duramax ATF dexron 6, for six speed vehicle? Compare it to Total mvlv. Any oil that claims to work on dw1 should be six speed. Dw1 are for 2010 cars rolled backwards to atfz1. What you seek of can be found on the data spec sheet. Guess that was posted earlier |

helpishere: Ford vehicles is what he is asking for. Why can't the oil work on Sp,Lv Mercon? What about Mercedes 7 speed gear? Can it work on these cars? Worked on Ford Taurus. Never tried it on 7spd transmission but if it meets the specification why not if not. Why can't you try it rather than follow the " them say" just to get your own facts right |

sooperrescue: Good to hear that it worked out for you but like you stated for the atf, you said that you used it on Ford gear. Which of the Ford? It does not work on Ford requiring mercon sp and lv. And like I stated for which you just confirmed, it might be suitable for Toyota cars. But have you tried it on the real cars? Have used on chrysler 300c with the NAG1 transmission. I doubted it's compatibility on Honda before usage but since it met the spec of dw1 threw it in straight and it drank it all without errors |

Interesting discussion. For good four years now have used this brand of engine oil, never for once has it dissapointed. Have used the transmission fluid on a wide range of vehicles e.g Honda, Toyota, Nissan, ford, chyrsler, Lexus and many more. It's one thing to know what you want in a product it's another thing to just follow the "them say". So many test have been carried out by me on this engine oil. It does what it's expected of and has never dissapointed. Recently installed a Lexus es350 2008 transmission which comes with U660E transmission (6spd). Duramax transmission fluid was what I used and it never dissapointed. My next transmission oil change is on a Toyota Venza 2010 and I would be using it as well. Don't be surprised the so-called Toyota WS and dw1 sold in naija are substandard. Use them at your own peril |

mayorall: Bros, Be sure your jacket is having issue first, check your radiator and hose for leakage...
Add green coloured coolant for better visibility..
Don't allow him to open your cylinder yet, meet those that fix radiators, mostly called " Agbede" in South West. They can help you locate leakage...
After you are done fixing that then drive the vehicle for a while to be sure the jasket is flat before you agree to fix it. How does he intend to drive an already overheated engine |
