voltron:aaaahh.. ![]() let's distribute blame! Ok, our stabilizing force has lost its homing instinct, its time to bring on the backup to navigate us to our destiny. I love it!! Come on APC, mount the Captain's seat!! ![]() |
Voltron, This adninistrration itself is a ennabler, it doesnt consider it wrong and unnacceptable that threats of bloodshed are volleyed back and forth beween political rivalries. We have a "beavis and butthead" landscape ecouraged and sponsored by the ruling party. |
voltron:media is a necessary evil, ....this is why the tongue is called an enemy. ![]() |
voltron:That is narrow to view it only as "threat". In its broadness it is in fact a "contingency". There is nothing illegal or anti-republic in patriotic planning. |
LRNZH:I hate to say it but threats are so abundant these days they've lost meaning. The last time Nigeria went up in flames was the uproar for June 12th. There were not this many people in idleness or in firearms posession. Next time Nigeria blows up might be the final release into secession. |
Why didn't the judiciary workers address their grievance through the legal process, why a labour strike? Isn't this the same action they condemn in other professional unions? |
voltron:The boat of a nation is always rocked by imbalances that cause it to sway back and forth. The primary role of a ruling government is to stabilize the boat, from swaying too far and then capsize. Rather than being the stabilizer, this ruling govt is the imbalance. We are drowning in their neglect. The next challenge is to right the boat and then pull people out of the water. There is nothing wrong in whacking the govt on its head with a paddle....if the effort to right the boat is frustrated! In fact, it ought to be a part of the written constitution that the people reserve the right to rise up against the government if the contract which guarantees freedom and liberties are unfairly manipulated to disenfranchize citizens. |
I dont think it mtters, generally, that Buhari went to his VPs Church. However, I believe it was disrespectful to have him in service. What is Oyedepo or whoever organized this stunt trying to prove? |
You ignorant fools! The matriarch of the Anglican Church is Queen Elizabeth. When she visited Malaysia she weint into a Mosque. The former Pope, John Paul, visited mosque in Turkey. Why are you fools restless about who visits where? |
barcanista:What is the court's performance record in delivering fair and unbiased judgement in the cases brought before it in past presidential elections, going as far back as June 12th? In a working democracy and an orderly society efforts are not spent on a contingency for breakdown of law and order. We live in a chaotic society and part of the change we are dogmatically expecting is a restoration of order, sanity and accountability into society. People's choice must be respected. If it is not we must resolve to force a revolutionry change. We might end up in a parallel socirty - an orderly one led by APC, a disorderly one championed by PDP. |
I thought Middle Belt was a member in the SS/SE coalition led by Asari... Anyway for those who dont know, Feb 14th is valentine day - show love! ![]() |
He said, “The game has changed. As it is, Jonathan has no chance of winning. Buhari seems to have taken over. The PDP has collapsed in the North if you care to know. All those who are running to Aso Rock and making promises to the President are just deceiving him.”I hope Asari is listening to hear how his SE/SS coalition for GEJ is slowly falling apart as Ohanaeze puts their betrayal scheme at the forefront of everything else. This APGA speech is a front and its written out that Ibos are shifting camp from PDP to APC to save their neck. Next thing we will hear when results are announced is Ibo jumping forward to claim they voted 99% support for GMB. Bunch of political harlots! If GEJ looses at the polls it will be because Ibo betrayed him. |
I hope so my brother. The Northerners dont give a f### what is comfortable for Buhari, when he enters that office he will be forced to submit to that theatrics. Its not for him, its a display meant to dominate and drown others in that show of hyper confidence. I thank you for your observatiin and like you said, Yorubas need to sidestep what Osinbajo feels comfortable in and sorround him with popmpous and pageantry. Nobody does colorful fabric and embroidery like Yoruba does....thats our element and its time to drape VP in it, aso oke, lace, sanyan, ofi, laari, damask....C'mon, get a tailor out and begin taking measurements already. Get a photographer and start flashing the lights. ![]() |
The secret of the North as a political power hub is rooted in their attitude around the political seat. They treat it like they would an Emirate throne. First layer is the ritual. The second layer is the drama and theatrics. Third layer is protocol of office. Every regime in this country that has had a Northerner as President, whether he was Christian or Muslim, was put ghrough this regimen. It is considered uncultured for a Hausaman to appear in formal settings dressed in shirt, tie and suit. Suit and tie is considered foreign and a leader that wears suit and tie too frequently soon looses his political status. If you look back in SLS tenure as Governor of Central Bank you will notice that he frequently punctures his suit outfits with traditional wears, particularly on occassions with camera prsence. After he was knighted by Emir Ado he was seeing in office wearing that regalia and afterward appeared more often dressed in robes. So why does this matter? President Buhari will be subjected to the three layers of office routine I described above, whether he likes it or not. This routine will drown VP Osinbajo and he will be almost invisible or worse, his image clad in suit amongst a theatrical display of colors and finesse (African style) would be given a wrong meaning. Almost like when in some public settings today its hard not to wonder if GEJ is not the butler to the guests standing next to him in pictures. So the VP himself need to present an African style dramatics for his public image....an attitude and romance for power and appeal. I have probed the internet trying to find pictures of Osinbajo in traditional Yoruba outfit...it's hard finding one! He is in suit everywhere, in office, in church, in family setting. C'mon, man! |
Those handling the wardrobe of Osinbajo need to pay attention and not repeat with him the error made with GEJ's wardrobe. GEJ persona is timid, soft and laidback. That is not an acceptable profile for President of a country that many Nations around thd world favor and are endeared to. His public appearance should have been packaged such that he is seen to be more decisive, active, ambitious and promoting. The trick is to put in him clothings and colors that raise his profile. Those responsible for his wardrobe failed to see this angle, and the result is a dull and unappealing outlook overlaying an already drawl impression. VP Osinbajo is a petite person, he is a professional lawyer and posesses a direct and active persona....a formal but down-to-earth type of person. His role is that of a Vice but he must also be Presidential when his boss needs him temporarily to step in. So how do we outfit such a person to complement his persona and public role? Suggestions and inputs are welcome from the public... |

Say NO to discrimination against women in Igboland. Say NO to osu in Igbolnd. |
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/10/osu-caste-in-igboland/ Oddly enough, the victims of the Osu system do not have any legal remedy in Igboland. And strangely, some people believe that the humiliating Osu caste system is a part of the Igbo culture nobody should tamper with. I suggest that something drastic has to be done to eradicate this obnoxious system.Since the Supreme Court has ruled against discriminatory practices and gave victory to daughters and wives in the Igbo society, we feel it would take the intervention of the learned Justices to advocate and rule on the criminality of osu belief in Igboland and apply interpretations from the law to eradicaye the criminal custom. Your thoughts..... |
