Tell your Biafran warlords their 40+ yrs Niger Bridge to no-where will be extended for another 20+yrs delay if Ngige is not voted in.

Ojukwu library shall not see the light of day if Ngige loose this election.

Unless you vote in Ngige in, SE will be ostracised and marginalized from APC rulership when GEJ and "the pillars of his administration" are booted out in 2015.

If you do not vote Ngige in we will escalate the exodus in Biafra and force all Biafrans to become tax and economic mules in Yorubaland and Hausaland.

Ngige must win, we are counting on you to do the needful!

I dont need it. I have a much better mastery of civic study and public administration than you do. If you doubt me answer my last question on whether Iboland and Hausaland are same country. This is the foolery that has continued to plague you guys since the 50s, beginning with Zik, and it hasnt ceased.

Iboland and Hausaland is not the same country, they are colocated in a geographical space named Nigeria. Each land had its own autonomy and self governance, in other words you have real and concrete countries within an artificial and political boundaries. You fools jumped the gun and started calling Hausaland your country.

You provoked Sardauna to talk about you like that. Uptill today you are yet to differentiate between a country and a administrative region and your politics suffer continously due to this lack of knowledge.

If anyone need civic lessons it will be you. Nigeria is not a land, it doesnt have culture, it has no customs, it has no ancestry, no cults or rituals, and yet you grip onto it as your political savior.

CrimeRe: Nigerians Accused Of Kidnap Killed In Guinea-Bissau by MayorofLagos(m): 9:58am On Oct 09, 2013
We dont need names to know these are Ibos. The Guinea Bissau people lamented in the news report that "enough is enough!" The kidnap has become a menace and they had enough.

Ibos are not looking for more population in their over populated land, so why are they snatching children off the streets everywhere? Simply for money rituals.

Instead of reflecting inward some mofos here are questioning our patriotism. My question is where is your moral conscience that the killing of a little child to Okija shrine does not prick you as disgusting and reprehensible.

Barstds!

The answer to your quest is simple. Nigeria did not get independence so Ibos can become a menace in the societies of West and North.

Nigeria got independence so each region can keep and maintain its autonomy under a Head of Regional Government.

West kept its regional mandate, so did North. Where is East's mandate? You all wasted it away in Biafran rebellion.

Leave other people alone and stop blaming them for the gross political failures of your regional leaders.

On the topic itself generally,

Im elated that this is taking off, sponsored by the government in the hinterland and seat of Yoruba spiritual home.

For the record, this is the first time since we converted to Islam and Christianity, that a public policy was adopted to start a reconversion back to our native philosophies. I believe Osun is the test bed for now. The policy should be mandated and all schools in Yorubaland should adopt it.

English is not my native tongue but im mandated to learn it in school. I see no reason why Ifa knowledge cannot be mandated for schools in Yorubaland.

Is this not the same cries here in Nigeria about ibos kidnapping children? Even in alaigbo children are snatched off the streets, much more on other lands.

Its so bad in Alaigbo that customary courts were instituted recently to attend to the chronic problem and bring heavy penalty on convicted kidnappers. Its a good thing and kudos to the elders.

Are you aware that you had independence in Eastern Region in 1957?

Why is an independent Eastern Region having problem developing its land and citizens?

Why should it be the job of Sardauna, the Northern Premier to develop Ibos?

Why the bitterness that Sardauna blocked you from taking opportunities reserved for his people?

Why didn't Okpara develop opportunities at home, within the enclave of independent Eastern Region?

Why are you not mad and bitter at Okpara whose laxity led you to seek opportunity with Sardauna?

While Awo/Akintola and Sardauna were busy developing gheir people and their land, Okpara was busy grooming coup plotters and assassins who will go exterminate leadership in other lands and prepare grounds for Ibos to take over other people properties..but it backfired! Did it not?
PoliticsRe: Cable Car Project On The Verge Of Completion – Fashola by MayorofLagos(m): 6:07am On Oct 09, 2013
Personally, I am critical of some of the "mega city" policies, not all..but some of them. This rail expansion system is one of their projects that I am not too excited about.

It can be rightfully agreed that many refugees into Lagos came with no intent of returning home and their motive for leaving home is simply to experience the hype of being a Lagosian. What is this hype?

If Lagos had remained in the same way it physically was in the 60s, it will not today be host to multitudes of people from across Nigeria and West Africa who see Lagos as their mini-London. To a Lagosian who has lived in London, there is nothing in Lagos worth comparing to the elegance and culture of the London metropolis. To a villager whose experience of Lagos and London is all on paper and pictures, Lagos is his London, moreso when he can compare Lagos Marina to the waterfront of River Thames or Tinubu Square to Trafalgar Square. His ultimate dream will still be London, but until then Lagos can serve as his stepping stone.

When you create a mega city that draws closer to London and farther away from anything that exist here in Nigeria, then many villages will empty out and their sons become joy riders and fun seekers in the hype of Lagos' fastspeed trains and airborne cable cars.

1. Is there any projection from Lagos Govt on how it would handle the population hyper explosion?

2. Has it dawned on the policy makers that their mega development has direct effect on migration pattern and hence traffic and congestion?

3. That the addition of trains, cable cars and ferries to the transportation network is a magnet for more crowd and pretty soon the crowd will overwhelm the capacity and make it insufficient for city transit. Then what, helicopters and hovercraft?

His politics and philosophy is the rain that started beating his people and they knew it not and will also never know where their body will get dried.
He was the leader of a ethnic region, rightfully so, his first and second priority should be his people. I wonder why Ibos have such deep difficulty understanding political structures and heirarchy of society. This area of responsibility and sphere of influence was not strange to Sardauna, Awo or Akintola...each of them knew what a leader of a peoole is called to do, why is ibo unintelligent and illiterate about social order and heirarchy?
PoliticsThree Nigerians Lynched To Death In Guinea Bissau. by MayorofLagos(op): 5:21am On Oct 09, 2013
It's time we start teaching other Africans how to identify Biafrans so that when these criminals are caught they are not mistakenly labelled as Nigerians.

Read...

A Lynch-mob has killed three Nigerians in Guinea Bissau.

They were accused of child kidnap in Bissau, the capital and lynched to death. The angry mob attacked the Nigerians after a child disappeared in Bissau.According to the AFP, rumours spread that the missing child had been abducted by the Nigerians. This prompted an angry crowd to gather in the centre of the city, which security forces were unable to control. An AFP journalist saw two of the Nigerian bodies in the morgue.Hundreds of angry rioters, mostly young and armed with stones and bottles, managed to grab one of the suspected kidnappers from a police car as officers stood by powerless, according to the AFP journalist. “Death to Nigerians! Enough is enough, stop! The Nigerians must leave,” chanted the crowd.

Police fired warning shots and tear gas in an effort to disperse the mob, but they were unsuccessful. The police called for reinforcements and soldiers from the Economic Community of West African States currently in the country were deployed in the town and managed to restore some sense of calm in the afternoon.

Nigeria’s embassy in Bissau, where many Nigerians sought refuge, was surrounded by security forces for protection. Many shop-owners in the city closed because of the violence. The latest abduction came at a tense time in Bissau, as in the past fortnight several kidnappings have been reported to the police.Abductions are currently an explosive topic, among the general population and on radio shows in Guinea-Bissau, prompting a number of rumours about who has been responsible for the disappearances.

The authorities have enforced a travel ban on unaccompanied children and any adults travelling with infants who they cannot prove are relations are immediately arrested.

PoliticsRe: Bizzare: Aregbesola Introduces Ifa As A Subject In Osun State Schools by MayorofLagos(m): 3:29am On Oct 09, 2013
Katsumoto: Nicely put. Let me expand a bit on the duality you mentioned above. Many cultures believe/believed in the concept that reality has two parts (male and female, good and evil, etc). The ancient Greeks and Romans were believers of this principle as were many other empires. But religions such as Christianity and Islam gradually replaced or amended this belief. There are still many cultures/religions that follow this belief system but their interpretations are different. These interpretations believe that the two can be interdependent, mutually independent, complimentary (Hinduism) or antagonistic (Gnostic Christians, Zoroastrianism).

Zoroastrianism is similar to Ifa in that both believe in the concept of good and bad but differ in that Ifa dictates that good and evil exist for the common good of the universe while Zoroastrianism believes that good and bad are in an eternal fight. This is why the Yoruba say "Buburu ati fere ni o nrin po ("Bad and good things work together"wink amongst many other sayings. On the good side, you have the orishas and on the bad side, you have death, curse, sickness, etc.
Kats,

There are indeed common and very exacting rites between Ifa and Islam.

In its creed, Islam recognizes the existence of Irunmoles and the plurality of divine powers.

I wonder how much ndu_chucks know about his Quran or for that matter the history of his people and their nativity before Islam, assuming he is a Northern muslim.

PoliticsRe: Why Is Ahmadu Bello Still Held In High Esteem As Moral Compass Of Socieity? by MayorofLagos(m): 3:04am On Oct 09, 2013
The root of the issue is Ibo migration, period.

I dont think Sardauna will go to Iboland and question their presence on their own land the way he questioned it on his land.

Ibo migration is a chronic problem. Land management and resourcefullness is important to support life. If a land is rich and resourceful people will stay on it for their means. People leave to seek sustenance elsewhere only when their own land is diminished or insufficient for their needs. Ibos have been on a mass exodus historically from as far back and soon after the completion of amalgamation of North/South. They went North to resettle as farmers. The migration contiues even till today and on varied grounds.

It can be argued that the mass suffering and starvation in the civil war had a lot to do with population density, than with food policy.

The return and convergence of millions of Ibos back on a land with diminished returns resulted in the outcome which had forced those people to abandon the land to start with.

Two issues need to studied:
1. The chronic Ibo migration
2. How to manage the land for population support and sustenance.

Stop studying Sardauna and Awo, stop blaming others, focus inward and start formulating a strategy to be self sufficient on your own land.
How convenient of you! You don't have any problem with issuing rebuttals with up to 8 bulleted items when you are challenged on this same thread, but you now want me to go and read a whole book before you will answer my very simple question to you. If you have no real knowledge of Ifa, there is nothing shameful about making an admission.

The vast majority of 'authentic' babalwos and Ifa priests are illiterates and very unsophisticated. Trust me, I've travelled far and wide within the SW and these people are outright dumb, sorry to say (most of them still believe that anything that goes up must come down due to gravity - mumus). You have an opportunity to summarize the Ifa philosophy for us and i will not accept the cop out that one has to be Yoruba to understand. So lets have it, educate us please.
Everything God created is designed in an orbit, regulated within a sphere of movement or non-movement, none collides with the other. Some are designed for interaction and inter-exchange and others are designed never to interact but to be perceived or experienced from safe distance.
Humans, as part of these phenomenon, are designated the custodians of life on earth and are taught the secrets of the elements and ecology and cosmic cycles for the benefit of sustenance.

This is a ordered world and to survive in it order is needed, the harmony of nature.

Ifa is an ancient manuscript that contains these secrets.

Some have wondered, why are there no rich babalawos or why are there no formulas for electricity in Ifa.

Babalawos are like monks. Monks live an austere life. Wealth and material things corrupt the soul, therefore monks protect their beings from the corruption through a disciplined, commited lifestyle. This is why Babalawos appear poor. Given the throng of clients that consult their service, domestically and internationally, there is no reason Babalawos should not own private jets like some of these mega pastors, but some of you are unaware that pastors also go to them for consultation.

On the issue of scientifical contents, Ifa has formulas that explain the science of life. If Yorubas were endowed with the gift of scientific creation then the world would be under our monopoly. Europe, with all its endowments for sciences and inventions is barren of the materials needed to fabricate their invention. Jews, with all their knowledge and insight have remained locked in perpetual hatred and battle all their history. So whatever you have, God also put in it a hole, the filling of which require an external source to come in partnership and make whole.

There is a branch of mathematics called opposite category or dual category. It is a formulaic for how Esu operates and expresses more on why an entity must go into partnership to find wholeness.

kofoshi: All this talk about esu is scaring me o.
Esu is a hidden wholeness.

An experience has a co-joined hidden aspect which together creates a wholeness, they co-exist and move together.

No experience is permanent. If a person is stuck in an undesirable state for too long, its because they have unconsciously blocked the opposite aspect of that undesirable state, which otherwise should bring in the desired aspect, and by giving an offering their Ori is placated to open the way for the other aspect to manifest and complete the cycle or wholeness.

Dont be afraid of Esu, dont fight him, dont block him but embrace him. cheesy
