Horus,

Is that the image of the "biggest mall in Africa"?

What is its size in square footage?
BusinessRe: The Biggest Mall In Africa: Aba Mega Mall Project Is Private Sector Driven - MD by MayorofLagos(m): 11:08pm On Sep 30, 2013
agbameta: Over 5000 shops,? The largest mall in the world is in China and it has 2000 shops. grin

Mall of Dubai has 1000 shops and these jokers are talking about 5000 shops? How do you build and manage 5000 shops?

Its nit even a mall sef, its market with stalls..... smh...
Anytime SW is launching a project they release the design plan with graphic illustrations and interactive media and artists impression.

Im not going to ask because i know it doesnt exist, but Ibos are a easy ride for political scams. This project is what we cal boju-boju, oloro m'bo. grin

Agba, ask dude to show you illustration of the proposed mall.
PoliticsRe: Are You Interested In Moderating This Section? by MayorofLagos(m): 6:00pm On Sep 30, 2013
remark D: Politics section is not for "softies"...

so if in search of a femal mod. I nominate Babyosisi...

(I see her almost as the female version of sexkills... she doesn't give a damn and will place a derailing poster where he or she belongs... in the banned room/corner... )

Those calling her tribalists (and thus not to be considered)... are definitely those she had dealt with before (whom did need to be discipline... so with a ban stick... I am sure she can get the job done.

As for "Berom"... I believe there has been some unverified comments on her M'F gender... and thus makes her an imposter... I don't recommend...

For a male mod. my nomination goes to Mr. Ndu Chuks... oh I guess I already said that... anyhoo... there ya go...

and I must point this out... where the posters that are known to be Igbo on this thread, interestingly, have not been pushing forward an "Igbo mod.".. while their main position is to pick someone based on merit... hile the northerner(s) are just sitting down watching what happens until it is "action time"...

the loudest posters on this leaves no doubt as to their ethnicity.. when they look at the mod. list... they don't see mods... they see 2 Igbos and 1 Yoruba...
(Now if you will flash back to the '50s/60s... and listen to the speech Akintola made about the VCs of 2 (federal) in the west.... he (Akintola) did not see 2 qualified human beings that were working for the development and progress of the universities (and assess their performance... ) but what he (Akintola) saw 2 Igbo men that were the "heads" in a "Yoruba land."
He made the speech over the radio... just as Jeremiah Useni has just narrated the coup he (claims) he was part of in Ironsi's death...

If Nigeria seeks to be a developed country... the issue of tribalism needs to be addressed in one way or another... unless... each time we gather, whether online or offline... as long as there are multiple groups involved and well represented... o nweghi anyi ji azu aga.
Your essay points out many gaps in your reasoning and appreciation for this section.

First, tell me what positive change has resulted from sexkillz appointment as mod and his indiscriminate approach to conflict resolution?

Second, go through all the posts opened here in the last 3months and show me one in which a true political discussion and analysis across board took place.

Third, Nigerian political system is ethnic in style and practice. There is no other way to discuss it, analyze it and enjoy it without ethnic tone. Even when foreign journalists write editorials about Nigeria they do so in acknowledgement of the ethnic rivalry. Why are we denying it or attempting to deny it here by putting in place a mod to flog everyone with ethnic bias?

Fourth, for you to suggest that a no nonsense mod is what is needed here shows your shallow mentality in appreciating the value of mediation and conflict resolution. We do not need a no nonsense moderator, we need a moderator who is a skilled administrator and know how to lead people.

Before they were given uniform they were not publicly identifiable but yet bokoharam could pick them out and killed them in reprisal attacks.

So now they have uniform announcing who they are...they are sitting targets.

Boko will use them as double agents to infiltrate and cause more harm to jtf.
PoliticsRe: I Don't Know If Boko Haram Leader Is Dead Or Alive - GEJ by MayorofLagos(m): 4:26am On Sep 30, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The president doesn't know because he doesn't know. That is being SINCERE. If the president does not know of something, how is he expected to respond if asked?
The President declared a state of emergency in NE. That is critical to his success in fighting terror and as commander in chief he should be getting security briefs with updates on the activities of boko and the movement or whereabout of its leaders.

We have layers upon layers of security agents, paramilitary forces, military combat forces and special rapid response squads. We are not fighting any international combat, this is home grown terror and yet all these government security agencies are incapable of drawing up a concise summary of the state of things on ground. More damning, the clueless GEJ is incapable of leading as a true C in C.

In the past 40days alone, counting with the students killed today over 500people have been killed by boko, among them top ranked military combat squad. Boko is in posession of Nigerian Army tanks and armored personnell carrier. Thats totally unacceptable!.

"i don't know" is not an honest answer, it's a stupid answer from a psychotic, impotent commander of the forces.

Keneking: Saw this on Fareed Zakaria show today, it would be good for Political Scientists.

Also good for parliaments and law-making , but I fear it would only help the lazy ones the most.
Very thoughtful insight!

Afam4eva: This is a nice innovation. This is Googlr giving back to the world.
How so? So this project is charity?
PoliticsRe: Google Launches Constitute by MayorofLagos(m): 6:08pm On Sep 29, 2013
wiseguy: Google has launched a new project tagged Constitute (https://www.constituteproject.org/#/) to help countries read and compare constitutions and help them to write, rewrite or review their constitution. You can browse countries and even search constitutions based on topics. For instance, you can search for a particular topic like Immunity and see the countries that have it in their constitution and be able to read it in full.

I think this is a good one.
What makes it good? Whar are the highlights of its benefits?

PoliticsThe Government Of Western Nigeria - A Revival by MayorofLagos(op): 4:02am On Sep 29, 2013
Western and Eastern Nigeria were both awarded self-government in 1957, while the Northern region would follow in 1959. The communal, racial and political rivalries, most clearly manifested in the Kano riots of 1953, had led to increased decentralisation and in 1954 Nigeria received its third constitution in seven years (Brendon, 2007, 534). The British looked to exploit this splintering, most notably between prominent nationalists such as Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik) and Obafemi Awolowo.

Awolowo, who had founded the Action Group to promote Yoruba interests, was a vocal opponent of colonial rule, arguing that British administration had been ‘carried out by incompetent, inferior officials’, and that the British never had ‘the true interests of the country at heart’. In 1955, referring to the government of the Western region, he stated that ‘in fourteen months under the present government, we have done more for Nigeria than the British did in 120 years’ (Gunther, 1955, 775).

PoliticsRe: CAN Shun Kwara Gov Over Independent Service by MayorofLagos(m): 3:56am On Sep 28, 2013
Very funny, what I got from this is CAN is shunning the State's function of Independence day to send a message of its dissaproval of Kwara State Govt. So CAN's absense in a prayer session is supposed to hurt the affairs of Kwara govt huh Whats the point? undecided

sexkillz: [color=#000030]^Maybe you missed where I said it previously so I'm repeating; I'm neutral to politics. I don't discuss it either. I haven't voted anyone in my adult life and I won't. Tone down on the unwarranted insults on my person since I haven't given you any reason to do so.

Cheers.

Dude, how do you relate in society? You are hyper sensitive to everything, very self conscious. Relax and socialize with maturity and stop viewing every little remark as attack. Your tone above infers that you will use the power of your position to punish him if he does not stop the insult. You are not given the moderation position to shield your personality from attack, you are a mod to supervise the forum. Chill, have fum, lay back, when people insult you overlook it sometimes, ignore them and they will soon learn that you are unresponsive to insults and will leave you alone.

Kairoseki, leave the chap alone abeg. Dont push his buttons.
PoliticsRe: Are You Interested In Moderating This Section? by MayorofLagos(m): 2:23am On Sep 27, 2013
I am reiterating to Seun that politics section is a unique one and the best outcome is one in which the position of mod in this section is fairly distributed among the major tribes. If no one to represet Hausa then put in a second Yoruba person.

This is the reality of Nigerian politics, we do not practice democracy in this country, we live by ethnic politics.
