I am not done talking, I did not want to mix appreciation for a man of honor with spits and venoms I intend to shoot in the direction of men who profess to be illuminated by classroom knowledge but are deficient on native intelligence and enlightenement....macof and this omo ibo oluochi, and all others in their bandwagon. This post is for them.

First I must visit on Olu's complain about those throwing Isese around on public forum. There is a good reason Yoruba myth and oral history, as well Odu Ifa is encrypted. It is because of people like these gangsters of barawos. Couple of years ago JayZ, the American rapper was throwing around some finger gesturing supposed to symbolize codes for initiates into Illuminati. grin Like wildfire, it spread around the universe and we started seeing all kind of merchandise depicting these gestures and the word "illuminati" became a household name....even on the lips of baboons. Baboon sef began to swag like a illuminati. grin Only if people knew.... First, Jayz will never ever be admitted into the Inner Temple. He does not possess the discipline required to be an errand boy of the Temple, much more to become a member in the cult. But to his fans, he is an illuminati already. This is how I see these Isese wannabes. Even that Omo ibo called olaochi says he is an initiate of Isese. Can you imagine? grin There must be two Iseses....the one for ogberis, which is the one these creeps belong to. I am yet to see a true Oluwo getting distracted and becoming self-conscious to throw his weight in Iledi around on the internet. Bloody creeps! I seriously suspect that macof is not Yoruba, a child born into Yorubaland and grew into the culture of Ife. Many people think Dele Momodu is Yoruba because of his adept knowledge of the language and the culture. I know for fact Oluochi is Ibo.

macof, you still owe me a scold, let me catch you offguard.... angry

PoliticsRe: The Language Barrier At Danfodiyo Varsity by MayorofLagos(m): 10:58pm On Sep 29, 2018
Juliusmalema:
At the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), many students and workers take pride in speaking Hausa. With English relegated, their non-Hausa speaking colleagues are left in the lurch. MUNEER YAQUB writes.

Language is the most potent tool of communication. It projects identity and promotes cohesiveness, especially in a homogeneous society. For a multi-cultural society, such as Nigeria, with over 300 ethnic groups and more than 200 dialects, adopting a common language would help in unifying the diverse ethnic nationalities.

English is Nigeria’s lingua franca. It is the language of instruction and communication in official and unofficial circles. Many schools frown at  those who communicate in other language than English.

But at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), many students take delight in speaking Hausa.

For students who don’t understand Hausa, living among native Hausa speakers comes with its own challenges. Such is the ordeal of Jasper Adegunloye (not real name), a native of Ogbomoso in Oyo State, who was accused of a crime he did not commit.

Besides English, the only other language he speaks is Yoruba. His quest for tertiary education took him to Sokoto, a predominantly Hausa-speaking society. Now in his third year, he narrated how he was accused of theft by his colleagues.

“It was in the library,” he recalled.

After long hours of study, Jasper came out of the library to fetch his bag that he dropped in the perforated shelf at the library entrance. Having forgotten the exact place he kept his bag, he started opening all holes in the shelf in search of the item. But, he was challenged by a library official, who thought he was up to something else.

“It was the most horrible day of my life. I had thought the official was a student, trying to challenge me. He yelled at me in Hausa. I was lost, since I don’t understand the language. I snapped back at him and told him I didn’t understand what he was saying. He didn’t understand English. We couldn’t understand ourselves. Before I knew what was going on, he held me by my shirt and dragged me to the security unit.

“Unfortunately, the guards on duty couldn’t understand English too. This gave the guy a chance to change the narrative. Before I was allowed to explain my own side of the story, I had been treated as a criminal,” Jasper recounted.

The matter got to a head. His case was taken up by the security unit and he visited the unit for two months before he was finally acquitted.

He said: “My student Identity (ID) Card was seized, along with my library card. I was not allowed to study in the library for the rest of the semester. This affected my academic performance, all because I could not speak Hausa to people who do not understand English. This was an employee of a federal university for that matter.”

At the female hostels, there is an agreed time for putting off the light. Bilqees Abu, an Ebira, lives in an hostel with Hausa roommates. She has an ear for Hausa, but she cannot speak it.

For Bilqees and her roommates, the light in their room must be put off by 11pm. But, one of her roommates broke the rule because she wanted to wash her clothes.

Bilqees said: “She turned the light on. I wouldn’t sleep if the light is on. Even though her action got me angry, I suppressed my emotion and refrained from letting out my complaint.”

It became unbearable for Bilqees when the roommate later started a loud conversation with others.

Bilqees said: “I couldn’t take it anymore. So, I stood up from my bed and walked carefully to her corner in order not to disturb others in the room. I politely told her to switch off the light. But she looked at me scornfully and yelled at me, asking how she was disturbing my sleep. I was shocked. Then, she faced her friends and started insulting me in Hausa right there in my presence.

“Unknown to her, I understood every word she said. And she was shocked when she had discovered I understood everything she said. I was so annoyed and almost fought with her that night. To be honest, language barrier can cause a crisis in this school.”

Rodiyah Omotoyosi, a student from Ekiti State, was surprised when she found that Hausa is the major language of communication in the school.

“You can imagine my horror when I found out that staff of the school, whether a lecturer or a cleaner, speak Hausa to everyone,” she said.

Rodiyah said she had been having communication challenges since she was admitted into the school. Most of her classmates speak Hausa more than they speak English, she added.

She said: “I had thought things would take a turn for the better once I settled down, but to my utmost surprise the reverse has been the case. I had issues with a group of security officers the first time I visited the school’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to complete my registration. With my flowing hijab, they thought I must be Hausa.

“They started speaking Hausa to me, but I could not comprehend. I had to scream that I didn’t understand the language. They thought I was ill-mannered. It was when they realised I don’t understand their language that they spoke English.”

Kolawole Muhyideen greeted a non-teaching staff in English and was surprised when he responded in Hausa. The student said he didn’t know how to respond to Ina Kwana.

“He saw the confusion on my face. When I explained what I came to do in his office, he still would not speak in the language I would understand. I was disappointed. He kept responding to my inquiry in Hausa,” he said.

When the non-teaching staff eventually spoke English, Kolawole said the grammar and accent were worse than speaking Hausa.

He added: “I wish I had allowed him to speak Hausa, because I couldn’t pick anything from all he was saying. His English was so bad. It was even worse than Hausa. I was so sad. Why would an office in a university, with students from diverse backgrounds, be occupied by someone who cannot even properly communicate in English?”

The language barrier  also reflects in the classroom between lecturers and students. Subjects that should be taught in English are, sometimes, delivered in Hausa to enable Hausa speakers understand the subjects.

Murtadoh Abdullahi, an Education and Islamic Studies student from Ogun State, said he had such an encounter with a lecturer.

“It was my first time in Arabic class,” Murtadoh said, adding: “The lecturer announced that only Arabic was allowed in his class. In the middle of the lesson, the lecturer switched to Hausa. And this went on for about half an hour. I drew his attention to the rule he had set, and to the overwhelming non-Hausa population in the class.

“Although he switched back to Arabic later, he completed the lecture with a mixture of Hausa and Arabic. At this point, I knew any effort to call him to order might seem like confrontation. And that was how the lecture ended his teaching and I gained nothing. Even though I prepared to face such challenge in the school, I never imagined that it could be that bad.”

Isa Ismail, though based in Katsina, does not understand Hausa. He is a Yoruba native. He is disappointed at the manner religious activities on the campus are conducted in Hausa. He said he likes to participate in religious activities, but the language remains the hindrance.

Dean of Students’ Affairs (DSA), Prof Aminu Mode, in his reaction said the management was not aware of what he called the unacceptable” develoment.

He said: “Lecturers are not supposed to use any other language aside from English to teach in the class, even if the topic is Arabic related. The acceptable language of instruction is English, and it is unfair to the rest of the students who don’t understand any other language beyond English.”

The dean said it would be an aberration for Hausa students studying in Yoruba land to be taught in a language they won’t understand. He said it would be wrong for any lecturer to impose native language on students apart from the official lingua franca.

He advised students to report cases of victimisation based on language to senior officers of the university, promising to raise awareness about the need to keep English as the official language of communication on the campus.

This is why we must laud what Lagos State has passed into Law that all students attending and receiving academic instructions in Lagos State must study and be proficient in Yoruba.

If Sokoto had a similar law this student would have taken Hausa in 1st and 2nd year and have skill to communicate. If he is not happy with studying Hausa or is unwilling to then he should stay in Yorubaland.

PoliticsRe: Has Adeleke Lost Both Ways? Senator Gone And Governorship Gone.... by MayorofLagos(m): 9:50pm On Sep 29, 2018
This is a very good question.

From INEC FAQ page

http://www.inecnigeria.org/?page_id=28

95. Q. Can a person be disqualified from contesting election?

Ans. Yes. A person can be disqualified from contesting election if he/she:

Is a person employed in the public service of the Federation or of any State and has not resigned, withdrawn or retired from such employment thirty (30) days before the date of election
has acquired the citizenship of another country;
has been adjudged to be a lunatic or of unsound mind by any law in force;
is under death sentence imposed on him/her by a competent court of law or tribunal in Nigeria, or sentence of imprisonment or fine for any offence involving dishonesty or fraud or any other offence;
is declared bankrupt;
is within the period of less than ten (10) years before the date of the election, has been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty;
is a member of a secret society; or
has presented a forged certificate(s) to the Commission
This means Senator Ademola Adeleke had resigned at 30days or earlier before submitting interest to contest Guber race for Osun. He will therefore not return to Senate.

The Senate seat he vacated belonged to his deceased brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died in office. A bye-election in Osun won Ademola a succession to the seat of his dead brother. The Osun West Senatorial seat was won by Isiaka Adeleke (APC) in 2015 to convene the current 8th Senatorial Congress. Because the seat belongs to APC, they may likely not to replace it and just wait for next year to field a candidate for it. In another angle, they may decide to fill it so they can get the numbers for majority in the Congress.

There is jubilations right now in Aba, Kano, Umuahia, Kaduna as news filtered in that Kalu’s EFCC case has been transfered to another Judge following running battle between Kalu and Justice Mohammed Idris over his poor handling of the case.

Some of the people interviewed by IGBERE TV lampooned the judge over his handling of the case accusing him of collecting Bribe from enemies of Kalu in PDP to truncate justice.

“We are jubilating because we know that Orji Kalu is innocent of the allegations against him.
If anybody should be prosecuted, it should be people like Obasanjo and T. Orji who came to power without a Kobo and left as Billionaires. We all know that Orji Kalu was already into big money before he came into politics” a respondent, Chinedum Amadi said.

We have been asking these questions for ages and its not provided but you continue to say he was wealthy before becoming governor. Wealthy where, in IsialaNgwa?

Kalu loves to show off his mansion. Infact he loves to take pictures. Go search on internet for any of his pictures before Governor and bring lets discuss his status.

RomanceRe: Beautiful Pictures Of A Northern Bride In Fulani Outfits by MayorofLagos(m): 2:56am On Sep 26, 2018
This girl is exceptionally beautiful. However, it is not worth gloating over. I agree Fulanis have above average beautiful girls and is an ethnic trait, but Arewa also have highest rate of divorce in Nigeria. Beautiful as they are they do not last in matrimony. It is not uncommon to find a 40yr old that has been married three or more times. When you hear about mass weddings in Arewa these are divorcees and widows, not virgins....and they are given out in hundreds at once to suitors. So what makes them not last long in matrimony? What are the husbands not content with?

I am charmed by the beauty of this young Fulani girl, Id give a treasure to make her mine, but.....Not all that glitters is gold! grin

I agree. If he will marry her the parents will bless it. There is nothing wrong in doing that, on one condition....that he supports and give her motivation to further her studies. What society frowns on is men using girls body for selfish appetite and killing their future growth and success. Unfortunately thats what a lot of young girl/grown men relationship usually turn out to be but there are still some exceptiosn, though rare and far inbetween.

Men in Nigeria need education on relationship, family and sex, far more than women do. We are useless when it comes to relationship of any kind with the opposite gender.

How Obanikoro, Fayose, Chris Uba And Brig. General Momoh Rigged Ekiti Governorship Election In Collusion With The Nigerian Army

The 37-minute recording details the conversation between these PDP leaders and politicians as they bribed Brigadier General Momoh with a promotion for his assistance in carrying out election fraud in Ekiti. In it, Obanikoro is clearly heard informing the group of men, “[I] am not here for a tea party, am on special assignment by the President.”

SaharaReporters has received unimpeachable documents and audio recordings providing substantial evidence that major Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders planned and successfully rigged the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State, and plotted a similar scenario in Osun State in 2014.

The audio recordings and affidavit were provided by Sagir Koli, a Captain in the 32nd Artillery Brigade stationed in Ekiti State, who has since fled the country for fear of retaliation. Captain Koli recorded the conversation on June 20, 2014 when he was asked to accompany his Commanding Officer, Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh, to the meeting. The venue was held at Spotless Hotel in Ado-Ekiti.

The audio recordings depict the meeting as being attended by the eventual “winner” of the election, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State; Senator Iyiola Omisore of Osun State; a close associate of Mr. Fayose identified as Honorable Abdulkareem; the Minister for Police Affairs Jelili Adesiyan; and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who was at the time the Minister of State for Defense. Mr. Chris Uba came to Ekiti with a huge stash of money and soldiers from the East to carry out the assignment.

The 37-minute recording details the conversation between these men as they bribed Brigadier General Momoh with a promotion for his assistance in carrying out election fraud in Ekiti State. In it, Mr. Obanikoro is clearly heard informing the group of men, “[I] am not here for a tea party, [I] am on special assignment by the President.”

SaharaReporters further received credible intelligence that President Goodluck Jonathan had instructed the Chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh, to use the army in arresting and intimidating opposition politicians before and during the election. The audio recording provides exact details of the plot, with the collaborators almost degenerating into physical combat.

Authentication of Audio Recordings and Proof of Election Fraud

The audio recordings were analyzed and authenticated by Guardian Consulting, an independent US-based security consulting company. According to a report authored by Guardian Consulting, also in the possession of SaharaReporters, the independent company used Forensic Voice Frequency Comparison technology to identify all voices on the recording with audio available in the public domain.

The then Deputy Defense Minister, Obanikoro clearly states to General Momoh that he was not only sent to the meeting by President Jonathan, but “you can’t get a promotion without me sitting on top of your military council. If I am happy tomorrow night, the sky is your limit.”

Governor Fayose revealed that he had already bribed an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the non-political commission charged with organizing elections in Nigeria, to bring copies of voter ballots with the INEC logo to him that day. Fayose, upset that his INEC contact was caught in traffic, narrated his day’s frustrations: “Where are we supposed to be collating the thing INEC gave to us? Soft copies we now printed? Why is my [INEC] contact not with [the ballots]…my contact man [was] sitting in the check point…it took me more than two hours to get this man.”

As the plotters began to argue, Omisore, who was running for Governor of Osun State on the PDP ticket, tried to calm the room: “I would just say that we don’t have to argue so much, we have seen some lapses [today] yes. It’s just this evening, there is nothing happening now that we cannot contain before tomorrow morning.”

Plans to Rig Elections in Favor of PDP

The eyewitness testimony and sworn affidavit by Captain Koli corroborates the audio recordings of the PDP officials’ plans to manipulate the Ekiti State elections. The plotters devised several plans intended to bring about an unlawful victory for PDP candidates in the Ekiti State races, including the forging of INEC ballots, the use of the military to facilitate access for PDP operatives and supporters, the creation of a list of All Progressives Congress (APC) members to be arrested, and the deployment of a Special Team of military personnel to prevent APC voters from reaching the polls.

The PDP officials told General Momoh that those soldiers on election duty “must work hand-in-hand with the PDP agents” and ordered the arrest of selected APC stalwarts as that could “greatly assist the party during the election including DG campaign organization for Dr. Fayemi, Mr. Bimbo Daramola,” Captain Koli said in his affidavit.

General Momoh, confronted with criticism by the group, defended himself by saying that “we have done a lot of [APC] arrests.” It would be recalled that there were arrests of APC members in Ekiti State during the period. It would also be recalled that many members of the security offices paraded around Ekiti State in disguise.

The PDP collaborators also demanded that the military block APC members’ access to the electorate and that moles should “be careful because the consequence will be severe.”

Soldiers were instructed set up roadblocks leading to the polling stations and to prevent APC supporters’ access. Additionally, vehicles and individuals with special stickers labeled “National Security Task” were allowed movement anywhere, and were only distributed to PDP agents.

General Momoh informed the group that there were “about 6 special teams. I have one strike force. I have almost forty soldiers after deployment,” evidently an organized system being used to manipulate voter turnout.

Captain Koli’s statement explained that based on these strategies, “they succeeded in rigging the Ekiti State election with victory in all the 16 Local Governing Authorities (LGAs). These really inspired them and they were with the euphoria that same would happen in Osun State.”

Indeed, leading into the Osun State elections the Brigadier General posted there was told to take a three-week leave during the elections. His position was temporarily filled by General Momoh, who then repeated the same fraudulent tactics in Osun State.

Retaliation Against Captain Sagir Koli

SaharaReporters was provided with additional evidence that proves the military retaliated against Captain Koli when he released this information. Captain Koli fled before he was arrested, but the military arrested, secretly detained, and chained his brother Adamu to a bed for nearly five months at the Adekunle Fanjuyi’s Cantonment.

In an exclusive phone interview from his hideout outside Nigeria, Captain Koli told SaharaReporters that his brother was starved for periods of time and sometimes “fed worms.” Adamu was only released after a petition, which is also in possession of SaharaReporters, was submitted to the National Human Rights Commission by Barrister Chief K. Akinola Ajayi.

The treatment of Captain Koli’s brother was so poor during his illegal confinement that he had to be hospitalized due to malnutrition.

SaharaReporters contacted Nigerian Defense spokesperson, General Chris Olukolade as well as Nigerian Army spokesperson, Colonel SK Usman, for comment on this story. Both officials promised to get back to us but never did.

NYSCRe: Female Student's Love Letter To A Male Corper In Kaduna (Photo) by MayorofLagos(m): 6:39pm On Sep 25, 2018
This is natural and there is aboslutely nothing wrong with the letter. Children in teen years have crush on older personas of their ideal or love fantasy. There is no one here, male or female, that will not admit having crush on someone much older than them when they were in Aisha's age.

Aisha just need proper guidance thats all. This letter proves she is developing well, emotionally, biologically and academically. Some Uni graduates cannot string sentences together and be grammatically correct as done by this girl.

Aisha, Kudos to you, but get a good grounding of your emotions.

Utter nonsense, nothing comes easy in life and if direct primaries and end of automatic tickets and impositions regardless of performance means losing elections, so be it.

Automatic tickets and remaining in office without facing any kind of contest or primaries = Imposition and Godfatherism.

Direct primaries means democracy and you can not in one breath want and preach democracy while at the same time in another breath demanding automatic tickets and imposition. It's hypocritical.

Direct primaries is the Democratic and the best way forward, win or lose
I endorse this message!

In mid-1800s there was a tussle for the crown of Ologun Kutere dynasty and led to a face off between an imposed King and the favoured King. That political intrigue opened a weak line that was exploited by the perched foreigners to usurp power and changed the destiny of the land forever.

In the mid-1950s and lasting till 1967, which tailed into the war that ended in 1970, there was a political intrigue that originated in Lagos which threatened to change the course of Yorubaland. But for a quick and strategic reaction, a foreign culture would have become the landlords over Yoruba politics in Western region.

In 1992, after the seizure of Abiola's mandate, Lagos became the ground zero of political warfare between Yoruba and the rest of Nigeria. The aftermath of a long drawn battle and in which a lot of Yoruba political assets were assassinated brought in a new awakening and democracy that we enjoy today.

There is lessons to be learnt in all of these. I don't need to talk too much. Oro die lan'so fun Omoluabi, t'oba de inu yio di odindi! Those with wisdom will know because this message is targeted at them.

Deomelo, I agree with you wholeheartedly that we must champion democratic principles, we owe it as honour to our assassinated leaders, they gave their blood to force a new order on Nigeria. Nonetheless, DrAbeey has a point and we must not dismiss it. There are foreigners waiting for Lagos to erupt so they can exploit the division. It happened before. Let's close ranks.

DrAbeey,
Thanks for your patriotism to the land.

My dear brother, politics has its trappings. It's a snare, and when one is caught in it there are one of three options left open to get out of the trap - be brutal with competition to stay relevant - do nothing and be insulted and disrespected - concede and hand over to opponent.

I am glad you are a son of the soil and I will ask you to retrace back into memory lane and use the background of Lagos politics to march the way forward here. I want you to recall the politics of 1850 to 1860, the politics of 1956 to 1970 and the politics of 1992 to 2003. There is enough precedence to follow there for the way forward. We should not reinvent the wheel.

God bless you!

So, APC winning election is now Yoruba success? What manner of deep seated emptiness is this for God's sake?!
Go back to the genesis of APC. What do you have?
