First, why is Ekwueme not at this gathering? Where is Nwabueze? Why is Peter Obi excluded? What made Orji Uzor Kalu not be in attendance? How about the Ubah brothers, where are they? Where is Maduka and Innoson in this get together? Why is Ojukwu not represented by Biancah or any of the sons? Pointedly, each of these speakers lamented the development of other people's lands while theirs is left underdeveloped. Each of them has a property in Lagos. We are waiting to see when they will sell that which they own in other people land and bring the money to build something more beautiful and magnificent in alaibo. That should be the breakthrough they preach. Anything short of that is a deceit. Lastly, thank God for APC in Imo State, the politics of ewedu and amala and almajiri has become a change agent injecting awakening into the spirit of ndigbo. Jagaban's influence is reaching the hearts of nwafors. Good job Tinubu! |

to the burial of the mother of Oba Dosumu .Oba Dosumu died in late 1800s. I didn't know his mother was alive this long. Such a lenghty life! |
Dino Melaye must be Ibo. That, or he is a different ethnic but stayed in their midst too long and got fed human meat to encourage his apathy and blockage to social skills. |
I read the presscast from the meeting tagged Igbo Unity Forum meeting. I began to wonder if Ibo people, pro-Bantu in origin and genetics, are not better off campaigning for an alliance and formation of a broader Bantu Commonwealth than struggling to get recognition and liberty from Nigeria. In a Bantu coalition their span of influence will quadruple the geopolitical and economic scale of the Nigerian authority. Militarily their capacity will overwhelm the Nigerian ragtag Forces that are finding the eradication of bokoharam too daunting to accomplish. Instead Igbo leaders have forgotten their ancestry in Congo, they prefer the Yoruba gene to the pygmytic trace stamped into their Bantu gene. Moreover, they are not a sea people but distant enough that their soil is sitting on ravines of creeks and groves that weaken and collapse large mass of land area, thereby reducing in size real estate and land assets. What Ibo leaders do not have foresight to see is the crucial need for food safety. Crops will not yield sustainable harvest in a red soil containing pockets of underground ravines. Therefore a push to relocate to SE is as good as creating another cycle of refugee crisis. Surge in population will result in overdemand on the land. The land will in turn not yield expected output and might end up encouraging over planting. Net-net, Ibo in Nigeria or Biafra is at a dead end. Your survival rest in finding and reconciling with your pygymy roots in Congo. |
This girl no get sense. She just missed opportunity to cash millions of dollars in payout from terrorism insurance. Someone tell Amara to contact me so we can discuss. What kind of nonsense is this...are you sure this girl is Nigerian ![]() |

OP, Yorubas are united and we are aware of what's happening. There is a calculated move to legitimize the call for State Police and actually establish one. It can be done by demonstrating that Federal Police is incapable of securing SW. Likewise, we have clear evidence and justification and collecting data with which to table before UN in our efforts behind the doors to declare referendum for regionalism. It is best OPC does not get involved in the fray. If they do human rights activists alarmed by the body count and manner of death will follow behind and broadcast to the whole world that Oodua Peoples Congress is committing genocide. It will tarnish SW and the name Oodua. If OPC could operate a small scale operation, which will be hard for them to do once involved, then it might be a good argument to bring them in. |
Ojiofor:Yes, kneel is philologically rooted in kun le. If you think im lying remove the vowels and compare the residual. Queen Elizabeth sef will confirm to you that most of Royal symbols of authority she posess and use are rooted in Yoruba rites of rulership and divine authority. Dont play with Yoruba race! ![]() |

1 - build grazing reserve from Sokoto along the route to Futa Djalon and donate to Fulani so they and their malus can rediscover their roots and stay in it. 2 - build second niger bridge from alaibo, connecting Enugu to the heartland of Bantu country in democratic republic of Congo so Biafrans can rediscover their roots and regain their ancestral land. 3 - we indigenous Nigerians, Yoruba, Hausa, Bini, Kanuri, Tiv, Nupe, Ijaw, Igala, Gwari.....need to use our oil money to develop and lavish and turn this country into paradise. |
They dont need to waste bullet. Just go call hunters from Iboland to come hunt meat. ![]() |
I disagree with the professor. His thrust is bringing power closer to the people and removing ethnicity so we all feel as one. His daughters are matured for marriage. He should lead us with examples on how to build unity by marrying one of them off to Hausa and the other to Igbo. These leaders are not touched by the same level of hardship we face and therefore speak about Nigeria unity as if it will happen in line with their misplaced ideals. What a rubbish, Osinbajo should go and sit down somewhere. If he went ten times, as Attorney General of Lagos, the most influential state in the nation, to influence Supreme Court to favor an agenda for State Police and he could not get it.....what makes this man thinks he can build an ethnic neutral society in preference to regionalism? This is nonsense! ![]() |
IkpuMmadu:Maduka has taken over and become the government, erecting infrastructures left and right. Anambra State should be renamed Madumbra State. |
For the price of one hectare of land in Lagos, you can buy ten in Onitsha. Now, go home, your Governor needs your tax money to develop alaibo. |
If you have or wish to acquire land in the urban cities of Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha or in the rural areas of Anambra State, here is your golden opportunity to certify your ownership, Fast and very affordable! This action will surely encourage our brethren and investors alike who wish to return to Anambra State for business and residential purposes. Recall that Gov Obiano has repeatedly urged Ndi Anambra in diaspora to bring home their businesses having provided the most investment friendly environment in Nigeria… Our nation’s safest State! |
@topic, My endorsement is submitted. I love this article! |
Igboic:We do not ask for people to be afraid of us, never has. Fear mongering is an art peculiar with Ibo and is why you call everyone else coward because your political and social view is structured around physicallity. What bothers the senses is why your physicality and fear mongering is not winning you victories but Yorubas, your so called cowards, are a bloc of political strength in Nigeria and are indeed the only Southern race that Northerners fear upsetting. Let me tell you about Abiola... Aare Ona Kankanfo of Yorubaland! Abiola was offered a deal. Did you know this? Abiola was offered a deal to surrender his electoral mandate and victory in exchange for release from prison. He choosed death over surrender. We do not label ourselves brave but we are going to let the world see if you are justified in calling us coward. If Yoruba was the one agitating for Biafra we would have secured alliance and guarantees of security from neighbouring peoples and use it to advance a permanent and irreversible treaty from the Nigerian nation by this time. It is so because our resolve in advocating liberties and social advancement is credible and reliable and every ally know without doubt that in victory Yoruba carry others along. We are an asset! The same cannot be said of Ibos. You are a liability and risk to associate or tie one's political future to. Insteadof looking for allies you are busy calling people cowards. Lets see how far your bravery will carry and bring Biafra into fruition. Keep at it! |
@igboic, AD was a Yoruba party, of course it was always going to throw up a Yoruba candidate.Obj was never a member of PDP, much more to even be thrown up as its flag bearer. The Northerners were unsure of the unpredictable but volatile Yoruba politics and at a time when every strata of Yoruba social class is toeing the same line and their demand is consistent on the one issue of political robbery, there is only one solution to the problem and that is to pacify the anger and restore what Yoruba say was rightfully theirs.....the presidential throne! Ekwueme was already the flag bearer of PDP and was to contest against Falae of AD. The Ibos did not know this but the Northerners were wise to see that if PDP fielded a non-Yoruba against a Yoruba AD the entire West and elements in North Central who were opposed to core North would vote for Falae. Coming on the heels of their resentment Yorubas will assert complete autonomy on the political future of the country if Falae won. They needed an alternative, a counter to AD victory. Hence the emergence of Obasanjo. Ekwueme, a founding member of PDP was displaced to insert Obasanjo. Obasanjo in turn played fast on North but instead of bringing Ibo to succeed YarAdua he elevated Ijaw above into political succession ahead of Ibo. |
Lightening:Wrong analysis! Yorubas do not have relationship with Ibos, we have a relationship with Nigeria, and is not contractual. Yoruba history did not start with 1960 independence of Nigeria or 1914 amalgamation of North and South or 1906 amalgamation of South or 1845 colonization of Lagos....our history predated these political date markers. In Yoruba history, who were the constituted allies and sister nations that we co-habited, co-located and co-exchanged with? There are many, and they still exist. Ibo is not one of them. If it was not for Nigeria you will remain an unknown people to us. So it is by virtue of the sovereingty of Nigeria that we cohabit and accomodate you and no contract is binding on us to honor your presence, not even the constitution. Political wisdom and the Yoruba philosophy is your benevolence. This is the truth! |
Ibos finally realized there is no way forward on Biafra and secession and now making a desperate move to position one nigeria as the only way forward. Im happy that you recovered and gained your senses back. Again, hundreds of Ibo lives wasted in the unecessary and ill-planned protest but it is better to surrender than keep protesting and loosing lives. It is best to first have a solid plan with resolve to see it to the end than to start a uprising with a half life cycle. In the area of political organization and social liberties there are still lessons for Ibos to learn. Ibos, disguised as Yorubas and Hausas, are on social media spreading message of unity for Nigeria and advocating ressons why Nigeria is incomplete without Ibos. If this is not an act of cowardness I don't know what other thing to call it. Some years not long ago after a Yoruba won the election and was disenfranchised, the Yorubas, who the Ibos fondly refer to as cowards, staged an uprising that crippled the government and forced other ethnic groups to vacate Yorubaland in fear. The agitation was from top to bottom of the Yoruba ethnicity. Those infront leading the street protests were senior lawyers, politicians, retired military officers, academicians, diplomats, and so on....behind them were the ordinary citizens. Political militias were targeting military, police and goverment assets and terrorizing the institution and unity of Nigeria. As government arrested and put our leaders in jail their position was quickly filled by new set of leaders. Our Obas spoke with one voice and endorsed the actions of their subjects and demanded the government correct the injustice if they want peace. UK and US got involved as mediators and finally Federal Government caved in. For the first time in its history Nigeria conceeded the Presidential election to candidates from one ethnic race. It had not been done before and never since. Why? Planning, resolve and truth! We don't call it an act of bravery, no doubt it is not an act cowardice....but we call it an act of political wisdom! Those who call themselves brave and others cowards, at every turn of their political aspirations they meet roadblocks and the first thing they do is retreat. What kind of bravery is in this people's gene? |
It is a bit unfair if you live in a country and you are being told you cannot be President simply because you belong to a group that is politically unattractive. The constitution may not necessarily be a barrier, but your countrymen and women will just not vote for you. If you belong to any of the following categories, you may never be president of your country. 1. The Igbo 1. The Atheist One of the fundamental values of Nigerians is the believe in God. Being an atheist is a major hindrance for any one with dreams of occupying the AsoRock. However, even a non practicing Muslim or Christian will have a better chance. 2. The Traditionalist Sequel to the atheist, a traditionalist can’t be president of Nigeria also. According to The CIA World Fact Book, over 97% of Nigerians are either Christians or Muslims. This overwhelming majority will simply not allow anyone who isn’t one of them to be president. While a hardcore traditionalist does not have a chance at the AsoRock office, a Christian or Muslim with some traditionalist ties might. A traditionalist here means people who still worship traditional African gods. 3. Women This will be a lot controversial, but there are two major reasons why Nigeria can’t have a female president. African tradition doesn’t view women as leaders, it views them as supporters and people who should be respected and protected by men. Secondly, almost half the countries population is Muslim. Islam is explicitly against having a female as a supreme ruler and that simply means it will be near impossible for any major political party to sponsor a female presidential candidate. 4. Jehovah’s Witness, Shiites and other religious deviants First the Shiites; they are deviants from mainstream Islamic believes and values who constitute less than 10% of the global Muslim population, and in Nigeria, they are less than 3%. They have extreme views such as “the Prophet was killed by his wives,” and in extreme cases some of them reject the Qur’an saying it was doctored. With these and other extreme views will make even a moderate Shiite unattractive for the AsoRock Villa. Jehovah’s witnesses are a Christian minority who believes that the end of the world is near and that only their members will be saved from being damned. Some of them have extreme views such as “don’t get blood transfusion even when you are sick and dying.” Nigerians may be conservative and religious, but they just won’t vote for any religious deviant. 5. The Liberal If you ever want to be president, and you are asked in an interview on your opinion on same-sex union, condemn it, use words such as “it’s disgusting” and “it should be a punishable offense.” The harsher you sound, the more conservative you’ll look. Nigerians love conservatives and hate liberals. 6. The Celibate In proper Nigerian culture, not having a spouse means you are incomplete, irresponsible . Celibacy may be acceptable in other cultures, but in Nigeria it isn’t. 7. The Ex-convict The likes of former President Obasanjo and Senator Shehu Sani are political prisoners, so they can be excused from this category. But ex-convicts, in the likes of Bode George and James Ibori will have no chance at ever occupying the AsoRock Villa. In Nigeria, once a criminal is always a criminal. 8. People with bad reputation Imagine a Femi Fani Kayode contesting for president. Or a Doyin Okupe seriously campaigning to be President. These men will be seen as more of jesters than they will be considered for the countries number one office. From corruption scandals to baseless arguments on Twitter has made these men completely unattractive for any party to sponsor for the country’s presidency. This category also has to include everybody that has been arrested on corruption charges. |
An okada man who is an igbo man was to take me from omisanjana street to odo-ado street Ado-Ekiti. unfortunately his okada broke down along the way-little away from the road that leads to ekute quarters. We got down from the okada n i told him to let us take it to a nearby okada mechanic. His responce was shocking to me. He said he would take his okada to his igbo brother, a mechanic. I asked him where? He said a little far from here. I asked him how? He said he would wave to other okada men (majorly yorubas ) to tow him down to the place. I was like WTF! going through all these when an okada mechanic is over there. i asked him what is wrong with the (yoruba) mechanic over there? He laughed n said nothing is wrong with him just that he likes his igbo brothers (if he had said that d yoruba mechanic is not good enough, i would have reason with him). i left very disappointed at dis particular igbo man. This incident makes me take a closer look at the behaviour of our self proclaimed marginalized brothers. From an average igbo man perspective, the yorubas are jelouse of them, hausas hate dem, the middle belt people dislike them, the Edos detest dem. All they could see is dat they are hated by other tribes but never think that something might be wrong wit dem if truly the whole nigeria except an igbo hates the igbo man. Even their so called partners (the south southerners) are dissociating demselves from u guys. d question is: who is d problem? I dont know about any other tribe, but i must confess to u guys dat we the yorubas love you.we've always do and we will forever love you. in yoruba land, many of ur children attended UI, OAU, FUTA, UNILAG,EKSU etc contested for political posts, from departmental to faculty to SUG level and in some occasions, won. Most of the Pioneer top university officials of FUOYE are igbos- starting from the VC Professor Chinedu Nebo. The current chairman of my street is an igbo man. He was also the former Secretary/accountant/treasurer. Igbos in one way or another are represented in one social-political-association key positions in d SW. They are even voted into state house of assemblies, as senators and honourables to represent d yorubas at d federal level. They even enjoy chieftaincy titles. The most annoying fact is dat most of these things enjoyed by them in d SW are not reciprocated to d yorubas in d SE. I can bet all i have dat no yoruba man is near to d post of a street chairman (except of course he is very rich) talkless of political post in d SE. "Dey never born d yoruba man wey go think to contest for d post of an ordinary counselor talkless of a whole senator. Even in their accademic institutions as a student; to contest na dont even try am." as said by a friend based in Onisha. My question is who is marginalizing who? Once upon a time in d political history of this country, igbos were a major force to reckon wit. They were vibrant and popular in major sectors including the nigerian military. In fact d firt coup in dis country was carried out by the igbos. But now, they claimed to have been marginalized political, socially even from the civil service. d thing is, what change? Democracy came in. There is no more have it by force. U have to be popular to have it now. One thing i want my igbo brothers to understand is dat Nigeria is a multi-ethnic country. You guys are 18%, yorubas 21% and d hausas 30%. Others made up d remaining 31%. 18% cant vote out 82% . Dis is democracy for crying out loud-majority carry d vote. You guys should form alliances wit other tribes. If u detest d yorubas dat much, form a formidable partnership with d middle belt who to a reasonable extent repel d hausas influence. Partner wit d Edo people and superglue ur cracked relationship wit d urobos, ibibios and other tribes in the SS. you can even challenge for d minorities in d north e.g the hausa-christians. Jonathan was voted in with a landslide. Oga buari has been consistently contesting for d presidential seat since 101BC. Even when d whole almajiris voted for him under d flagship of CPC. Jona defeated him hands down. his dream came true after he formed a good alliance with d SW. So wetin b una excuse? Rochas is doing his best to make dis happen under the flagship of APC; he suddenly became the public enemy no.1 of the igbos. My question is how will an igbo man become president if you dont want anything to with d hausas, yorubas, tivs, igbiras, igalas,Edos etc? To d best of my knowledge, i think you-d igbos are d people marginalizing yourselves from this country and not the other way round. lastly, please leave out d yorubas from ur socio-political problems. Yorubas are also a minority like you in dis country.we are just 21%. we are dis big because we are smart enough to open our eyes vividly to see real things and not fictions so as to adjust our default settings to solutions to our reality at every fucking time. I beleive you urselves know dat dat d best ethnic group for u in dis country is d yorubas. And i am very sure dat all of una love us-una just dey pretend so say d opposite. It is the two us of dat can co-exist d best in dis country. So make all of una stop the hypocrisy ooooooo. Jst my observations. |
