You prefer the comfort of ignorance than to challenge yourself and research.
All these things happen only in fictitious stories NOT in reality. . .

I sense your pain. But I will make this easy for you;

The Abrahamic religions all accept/believe in the power of miracles. Miracles themselves being an illogical or irrational concept- the impossible becoming the possible. A contradiction.

For instance, a dead man coming to life (Jesus). This dead man was beaten, nailed to a cross for hours, stabbed in the side to check if he was alive and then buried for three days. Yet, we are to believe that he came back to life. What irrationality.

For instance, we are to believe that Prophet Muhammad split the moon into two. huh
A virgin gave birth to a child. . .A man lived inside a fish for 3 days. . .stars fight along side humans. . .Donkey's talk. . .A flood once covered the whole earth about 4300 years ago. . .All humans descended from one Jewish man and Jewish woman and finally Mohammed ascended into paradise on the back of a winged beast. . .

BraveGuy: That is a lot. Where do we begin? smiley

Let me start from here - So what makes the Bible stand out?

There is the PROPHETIC Proof.
There are many prophecies in the Bible which have been fulfilled to the letter. Prophecies concerning the rise and fall of the Babylonian Empire, the Persian Empire, the Greek Empire and the Roman Empire are all mentioned in the Book of Daniel, Chapter 2.

Another prophecy is the one concerning the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, which was uttered by the Lord Jesus Christ. This was concerning the destruction of Jerusalem, we read:

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation (Luke 19:41-44 – NKJ)

This is one of the things that makes the Bible to stand out.
The book of Daniel was written many years after the events if predicted happened. . .Many of its prophecies were lies and never happened. . .The gospel of Mathew was also written after AD 70 so its very easy to predict things after they have happened. . .You are just a joke. . .

Here are some unfulfilled prophecies Lies in the bible. . . .why should a book that contains so much lies and falsehood be considered the word of a perfect and all knowing deity?

1. According to Ex 3:8, the Israelites will live in a large land, flowing with milk and honey, and according to 2Sa 7:10, the biblegod said that he will provide a place for them and they will not be disturbed anymore, but as a matter of historical fact Israel (and vicinity) has been a relatively small and mostly barren land, and the Israelites have been continually harassed from all sides up till today.

2. Many verses prophesy that the throne of David will endure forever and that there will never be a time without a man upon that throne. But in point of historical fact, the Davidic line of kings ended with Zedekiah. 450 yrs. later, the Maccabeans had a brief reign. But for 2000 years, there has been no Davidic king.

3. According to Isa 14:23, Babylon will become a swapland, but that never happened. According to Jer 51:36, Babylon will become totally dry, but that never happened either. According to other verses, Babylon will never
be inhabited by people again and the biblegod said that he will completely cut of Babylon, her name and survivors, but in fact Babylon has been continually inhabited by people since that time. [Note 1Pe 5:13.] It is now part of Iraq.

4. According to Isa 17:1, Damascus will be destroyed, but in fact Damascus is one of the few ancient cities that has never been destroyed. [The fact that so many were destroyed makes prophecies of the future destruction of ancient cities rather unremarkable.] If Isaiah had predicted that Damascus would never be destroyed, then that would have been remarkable.

5. According to Isa 19:5, Eze 30:12, and Zec 10:11, the Nile River will dry up, and according to Eze 29:9-12, Egypt will become desolate for 40 years, with no man or animal passing through it and with all Egyptians dispersed, but as a matter of fact the Nile River has never dried up and in the whole history of Egypt no such calamitous events have ever occurred.

6. According to Isa 19:18, five Egyptian cities will speak the language of Canaan, but linguists and archaeologists assure us that no Egyptian cities have ever spoken the language of Canaan.

7. According to Isa 34:9-10, Edom (the land between the Dead Sea and Gulf of Aqaba) will become burning pitch forever: no one will ever pass through it again because It's fire will not be quenched night and day; its smoke will rise forever. From generation to generation. But in truth that has never happened to Edom. People have passed through it for thousands of years up till today.

8. According to Isa 52:1, the uncircumcised and unclean will never enter Jerusalem again, but in fact such people have continually entered Jerusalem for thousands of years.

9. According to Jer 42:17, Jews who choose to live in Egypt will all die and leave no remnant. But history shows that Jews continued to live there for centuries, later establishing a cultural center at Alexandria.

10. Zep 3:13 prophesied that the remnant of Israel will not sin or lie or be afraid, but in truth they were never so moral nor so fearless.

11.According to Mt 12:40, Christ will be buried for three nights, but he died on a Friday and by Sunday the tomb was said to be empty. Between Friday and Sunday, there are just two nights, not three. The new testament writers have said that Jesus will be crucified, he will die and be resurrected after 3 days according to the scriptures, but up till today no such scripture has been provided by anybody. In fact that prophecy does not exists any where in the Hebrew bible.

11. Many verses prophesy that Christ's second coming will occur soon. Some of them specifically say that it will be within his listeners' lifetime, i.e., before that generation (there with Jesus) passes away or "before you finish going round the cities of Jerusalem I will return" . But in truth more than 19 centuries have elapsed since then and the event still has not occurred. Of all the examples of unfulfilled prophecies, this one strikes me as the one that is clearest and most powerful.

BraveGuy: The Bible is of NO PRIVATE INTERPRETATION.... 2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Pure crap, even you yourself interpret the bible personally. . .Every chgristian does that that is why there is no universal biblical doctrine and genuine christians disagree all the time over basic issues. . .Christians are yet to agree on the basic nature of Jesus, while some say he is god and god's son at the same time, others say he is god's son alone and is different from god himself. . How salvation can be achieved is also a major cause of disagreement. . NL religious section is filled with all these disagreements among the christian body, the funny thing is that all of them quote the bible and lay claim to the holy spirit when making their claims. . .Confused people. . .
Christianity EtcRe: Who Created *gods?* by mazaje(m): 5:10pm On Jul 21, 2014
he final editors of the Hebrew canon were fervent monotheists, but a remnant of the polytheistic basis of the pre-Mosaic religion can still be detected. Albrecht Alt has shown that divine titles such as 'El Bet' el (Gen. 31:13; 35:7); 'El 'Olam (Gen. 21:33); and 'El Ro'i (Gen. 16:13); 'El 'Elyon (Gen. 14:18); and 'El Saddai (Gen. 17:1); all later taken to be one God (Yahweh) after Moses, were all originally separate gods worshipped by the early Hebrews.3 The Catholic scholar Bruce Vawter concurs with Alt. According to Vawter, none of the available English translations does justice to the original Hebrew of Genesis 31:13, which quite simply reads "I am the god Bethel" ('El Bet'el), who was a member of the Canaanite pantheon along with the rest of the above.4 The original meaning is therefore quite different from the traditional understanding: this god at Bethel is not the universal Lord who appeared at Bethel but just one god among many – a local deity of a specific place.

In the mutual swearing of Jacob and Laban (Gen. 31:51f) it is clear that two distinct gods are referred to.5 The work of later editors is clearly evident in this passage. As Alt states: "Was it not plain paganism for the ancestor of Israel and one of his relations to swear by two different gods? This dangerous sentence had to be rendered harmless by an addition or alternation."6 In Judges 11:24 Jepthah recognizes the authority of the god Chemosh, at least for the Ammonites in their own land.

The popular notion that Moses was the original monotheist is a thesis that has very little support. As we shall soon see, Moses probably was not even a monotheist, but even if he was, there was monotheism in Egypt a generation before Moses, most likely under the heretic king Akhenaten of the 14th century B.C.E. In his insistence on the worship of Yahweh alone, Moses was a henotheist, i.e., he believed that Yahweh was the greatest among the gods, the king of gods.

The traditional belief that Yahweh revealed himself solely to Moses, and that no people except the Hebrews worshipped Yahweh, is also becoming more tenuous. Several scholars have pointed out evidence of Yahweh worship among several pre-Mosaic eastern cultures.7 For example, the controversial tablets at Ebla, dating back into the 3rd millennium B.C.E., speak of a god by the name of "Ya," who is linked to the Yahweh of Moses by some Ebla scholars.8

Contrary to popular understanding, the First Commandment, "You shall have no other gods before me," does not deny the existence of other deities. In his commentary on Deuteronomy Anthony Phillips maintains that "there is here no thought of monotheism. The commandment does not seek to repudiate the existence of other gods, but to prevent Israel from having anything to do with them."9 The ontological status of other gods besides Yahweh can be explicitly seen in Deut. 32:8, where we find Yahweh setting the boundaries of nations according to the "number of the sons of God." The RSV follows the Septuagint text, which has been reinforced by the copy of Deuteronomy found among the Dead Sea Scrolls in Cave 4 at Qumran. . . .

Deuteronomy 32:8-9 reads

When the Most High apportioned the nations, when he divided humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the gods; 9 Yahweh's own portion was his people, Jacob his allotted share.

We know from the Ugaritic (Ras Shamra) tablets that the Canaanite god El fathered 70 gods; this background informs about Deuteronomy 32:8-9.

Then I came across the article Ugarit and the Bible on theology.edu.

There is one Ugaritic text which seems to indicate that among the inhabitants of Ugarit, Yahweh was viewed as another son of El. KTU 1.1 IV 14 says:

sm . bny . yw . ilt

“The name of the son of god, Yahweh.”
This text seems to show that Yahweh was known at Ugarit, though not as the Lord but as one of the many sons of El.

The prophets of the Old Testament rail against Baal, Asherah and various other gods on nearly every page. The reason for this is simple to understand; the people of Israel worshiped these gods along with, and sometimes instead of, Yahweh, the God of Israel. This Biblical denunciation of these Canaanite gods received a fresh face when the Ugaritic texts were discovered, for at Ugarit these were the very gods that were worshiped.

El was the chief god at Ugarit. Yet El is also the name of God used in many of the Psalms for Yahweh; or at least that has been the presupposition among pious Christians. Yet when one reads these Psalms and the Ugaritic texts one sees that the very attributes for which Yahweh is acclaimed are the same for which El is acclaimed. In fact, these Psalms were most likely originally Ugaritic or Canaanite hymns to El which were simply adopted by Israel, much like the American National Anthem was set to a beer hall tune by Francis Scott Key. El is called the “father of men”, “creator”, and “creator of the creation”. These attributes are also granted Yahweh by the Old Testament.

For instances, read KTU 1. 2 I 13-32 and compare it to many of the Psalms. Also, read Ps 82:1, 89:6-8mn!).

In 1 Kings 22:19-22 we read of Yahweh meeting with his heavenly council. This is the very description of heaven which one finds in the Ugaritic texts. For in those texts the “sons of god” are the sons of El.

Other deities worshipped at Ugarit were El Shaddai, El Elyon, and El Berith. All of these names are applied to Yahweh by the writers of the Old Testament. What this means is that the Hebrew theologians adopted the titles of the Canaanite gods and attributed them to Yahweh in an effort to eliminate them. If Yahweh is all of these there is no need for the Canaanite gods to exist! This process is known as assimilation.

Besides the chief god at Ugarit there were also lesser gods, demons, and goddesses. The most important of these lesser gods were Baal (familiar to all readers of the Bible), Asherah (also familiar to readers of the Bible), Yam (the god of the sea) and Mot (the god of death). What is of great interest here is that Yam is the Hebrew word for sea and Mot is the Hebrew word for death! Is this because the Hebrews also adopted these Canaanite ideas as well? Most likely they did.

Here is another very interesting piece from

In the Levantine pantheon, the Elohim are the 70 sons of El the Ancient of Days (Olam) assembled on the divine holy place, Mount Zephon (Jebel Aqra). This mountain, which lies in Syria, was regarded as a portal to its heavenly counterpart. The Elohim were originally ruled by El Elyon (God Most High), but He later hands His rule down to the god called Hadad who was known among the common people as "the master" ("Baal"wink. Assembled on the holy mountain of heaven and ruled by one, the pantheon (Elohim) acts as one. The enemy of the Elohim is Yam ("the sea"wink, a chaos monster slain by Baal. Each son was allocated to a specific people (e.g. Yahweh to Israel, Milcom to Moab etc.).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elohim#Canaanite_religion
It seems the ancient Jews got the idea of their God from previous civilizations, the Canaanites and others, no wonder to preserve do away with them, their God it was written told them to kill them all off and take all that belongs to them. . . . . .

Weah96: OK, so you know what happens when people die? Good for you. Isn't that a tad bit arrogant, considering we're all alive? More significant is the fact that even the authors of the bible were very careful not to include the testimony of resurrected characters in it. Jews don't believe it, the Torah being especially silent on the afterlife. But you do? And you wave a book around. That's raw arrogance.
And a drawing of a white man by a white girl as his evidence for god and the afterlife. .

The arabs\koran made it a religios duty for all muslims to hate the Jew because they rejected prophethood of mohammed, and mohammed, according to hadith cursed the christians and the Jews before his death for 'building' on grave of old prophets.
So its quite a foundational problem embedded in the koran. No matter how good a Jewish man is, he is an evil person, except he becomes a muslim and accept the prophethood of mohammed.

Einstein jews converting to Islam simply debunks your claims, does it make sense to convert to a faith where to use ur words "many" of its adherents actually hate u? It doesn't to me! And anti-semetism is problem even amongst atheists, christians etc! I have even heard of the words self hating jew!
I posted a video of an islamic cleric telling muslims why they ought to hate Jews. . .here is what he said using the koran as his basis for hating the Jews. . .

"Your belief regarding the Jews should be, first, that they are infidels, and second, that they are enemies. They are enemies not because they occupied Palestine. They would have been enemies even if they did not occupy a thing. Allah said: You shall find the strongest men in enmity to the disbelievers [sic] to be the Jews and the polytheists". . . .

It is not me who says so. The Prophet said: Judgment Day will not come until you fight the Jews and kill them. The Jews will hide behind stones and trees, and the stones and tree will call: Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him except for the Gharqad tree, which is the tree of the Jews. I have heard that they are planting many of these trees now. [...]

Is it not the same Koran that calls the Jews pigs?. . .

Many ancients knew the earth was round. . .During solar eclipse the shadow of the earth can be seen on the moon and its round. . .many ancients knew this. . .

You are lying here. .The bible does NOT say the earth floats in space. .How the writer you copied jumped from the earth hangs on nothing as stated in the bible to the earth floats in space is beyond me. . . Where is it written inside the bible that the earth floats in space?. . .The earth does not hang on nothing but is kept in orbit by the sun's gravitational pull. . .The bible clearly lied here. . .

How did you go to from spreading out the heavens like a curtain to mean the universe is expanding, making things up, eh?. . .

Nothing like that is written in the bible, the writer you copied just made things up. . .which is what christian apologist do most times, make things up. . .

#5. The number of the stars
On a clear night anybody will know that the stars are uncountable. . .The bible actually knows nothing about the stars, it says the earth was created before the stars, it also says that the stars will fall into the earth when Jesus will come. . .The writers of the bible thought the stars are just some tiny objects floating up in the sky. . .In the book of Ezekiel it has him seeing a vision where a goat's horn reached up into the sky and pushed one of the stars into earth. .This shows you the idea they had of the stars. . .To them the stars can fall into the earth, they didn't know that the stars were distant suns with planets revolving around them, and many are much bigger than the earth. . .The bible also says the sun moves round the earth. . .

Of all the so-called atheists in this place you're the worst! You simply don't even have a clue as to what you believe. You just regurgitate other people's ideas, no conviction of your own!
As if the god idea you were indoctrinated with is yours or as if the writing you copied and posted is yours. . Well done. . .

BraveGuy: You guys are claiming circular reasoning and all kinds of nonsense, but almost none of you have taken the patience to examine the evidence you are criticizing. Let me present to you a few things, outside the Bible or God that confirms the Bible.

The Universe Confirms the Bible

The Earth Is Round
The Bible indicates that the earth is round. Consider Isaiah 40:22 which mentions the “circle of the earth.” This description is certainly fitting— particularly when the earth is viewed from space; the earth always appears as a circle since it is round.

The Earth Floats In Space
A very interesting verse to consider is Job 26:7 which states that God “hangs the earth on nothing.”

The Expansion of the Universe
The Bible indicates in several places that the universe has been “stretched out” or expanded. For example, Isaiah 40:22 teaches that God “stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.” This would suggest that the universe has actually increased in size since its creation. God has stretched it out. He has expanded it (and is perhaps still expanding it). This verse must have seemed very strange when it was first written. The universe certainly doesn’t look as if it is expanding. After all, if you look at the night sky tonight, it will appear about the same size as it did the previous night, and the night before that. Ancient star maps appear virtually identical to the night sky today. Could the universe really have been expanded? It must have been hard to believe at the time.

Conservation of mass-energy
A very important concept in physics is the conservation of energy. This principle states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed. There are a lot of different kinds of energy; heat, light, sound, and electricity are all forms of energy. We can change one type of energy into another and we can move energy from one place to another, but the total quantity of energy in the universe is constant and cannot be changed.

Conservation of mass-energy is exactly what we would expect on the basis of Scripture. First, the Bible indicates that no new material can come into existence. This is indicated in John 1:3 and Genesis 2:2. John 1:3 states that all things were made by God, and nothing has come into existence apart from Him. Furthermore, God ended His work of creation by the seventh day of the creation week, according to Genesis 2:2. Since only God can bring new things into existence from nothing, and since God ended His work of creation by the seventh day, no new material will come into existence today.

The number of the stars
The Bible often uses the “stars of heaven” to represent an extremely large quantity. Genesis 22:17 teaches that God would multiply Abraham’s descendants “as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is on the sea shore.” Genesis 32:12 makes it clear that this represents a number which is uncountable by humans: “the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.” These are excellent analogies. Clearly the sand of the sea and the stars in the universe cannot be counted exactly by humans, though of course, they can be roughly estimated. Interestingly, the two quantities come out to about the same order of magnitude: 1022, or ten billion trillion, give or take a factor of ten or so. (For other verses using stars as an illustration of large numbers, see Deuteronomy 1:10 and 10:22.)

It was not always believed that the stars were so numerous. The astronomer Claudius Ptolemy (A.D. 150) cataloged 1,022 stars in his work The Almagest. Many astronomers believed that these were the only stars that existed, even though Ptolemy never claimed that his catalogue was exhaustive.

The Ordinances of Heaven and Earth
The Bible teaches that the universe obeys physical laws—“the ordinances of heaven and earth” (Jeremiah 33:25). The universe is neither haphazard nor arbitrary; nature conforms to logical, mathematical relationships set in place by the Lord.

The laws of physics and chemistry are examples of these ordinances of heaven and earth. The clockwork precision of the planets as they orbit the sun is due to their strict obedience to God’s ordinances. The stars and planets are never late nor are they early. They do not fail to appear in their proper place at the proper time (Isaiah 40:26).

The laws of nature are consistent and logical, because the Creator is consistent and logical. We can trust that the same physics, which worked yesterday will also work today. This principle is foundational to the scientific process. The very reason that science is possible is because the universe consistently obeys simple mathematical formulae.

Today, the reliability of the Bible is being increasingly attacked. Can we really trust the Bible in our modern age of technology and science? As we have seen, science is not an enemy of the Bible. On the contrary, modern science has been able to confirm much of what the Bible teaches about astronomy. Many of the biblical teachings which would have been difficult to believe in the past (such as an expanding universe) are now accepted in science textbooks. This is an important lesson to learn. Ideas in secular science can change from time to time, but the Bible has demonstrated itself to be consistently true without the need for change.
Most of what you wrote is simple knowledge even by the ancients. . .A lot of them knew that the earth was round, they discovered it during the solar eclipse, when they saw the shadow of they earth on the moon, they realized that it is round. . . .its funny how you make things up. . .Any serious person that looks at the night sky on a clear night will know that the stars are uncountable, nothing new there. . .How you jump from the ordinances of heaven and earth to mean the solar system is observing your god's law is beyond me, you just copy apologist garbage without knowing what you are doing. . .God ended his creation in 7 days but new planets are being formed in the universe, how the writer you copied dishonestly changed it to mean no new material is formed in the universe is beyond me. . .

The ancient Greeks used what we now call observation, reasoning and science. They talked about these things long before

Democritus 460 BC – .370 BC Democritus held that the earth was round, and stated that originally the universe was comprised of nothing but tiny atoms churning in chaos, until they collided together to form larger units including the earth and everything on it. He surmised that there are many worlds, some growing, some decaying; some with no sun or moon, some with several. He held that every world has a beginning and an end, and that a world could be destroyed by collision with another world

Epicurus 341 BC: Like Democritus, he was an atomist, believing that the fundamental constituents of the world were indivisible little bits of matter (atoms, Greek atomos, indivisible) flying through empty space (khaos). Everything that occurs is the result of the atoms colliding, rebounding, and becoming entangled with one another, with no purpose or plan behind their motions

Anaximander 611 BC was the first recorded person to suggest the Earth is a sphere. Erastothenes basically worked out the circumference. It was proven 1800 years later by Magellan's voyage.

Greek mathematicians first proved the the square root of two is an irrational number.

400 B.C., Archytas of Tarentum asserts that sound was propogated by a medium (air or water)

Anaxagoras thought that the sun was not just a small glowing circle of light. He thought of it as a large glowing rock, larger than the Peloponnese peninsula. For that belief he was exiled.

Aristarchus 310 BC: suggests that the heavenly bodies revolve around the sun and calculated (because of the lack of parallax) that the stars were extrememly far away.

Aristotle classified the dolphins as mammals and not fish, as he noticed they bore their young alive with umbilical cords attached.

Pytheas 380 BC correctly asserts that tides are related to the phases of the moon.

The ancients from other parts of the world knew many things they could not have know ordinarily at that time, maybe the Greeks were inspired by their Greek gods as well. . .

BraveGuy: Do you know what the practicality of a deluded mind is? That is what you are experiencing. You are the one who is deluded at the face of of both historical and practical evidence, yet you are either too mentally lazy to examine them or too arrogant to admit to the one that stands against your bias.
Historical and practical fiction you mean?. . .You are busy presenting fiction and mythology as facts. . You god is a white man end of story. . .
