Christianity EtcRe: Truth Behind Christ Embassy Healing School By Sir John by mbaemeka(m): 1:19am On Sep 15, 2014
kjhova: I drove my younger sister to Healing School daily for 2 months back in 2001 when they were still at the old site in Oregun (just behind Alausa). She is wheelchair bound due to polio attack when she was just 3yrs old.
Yes we paid moneys regularly for one thing or another, yes they had many sermons & video watching sessions, yes there were selection dates, yes my sister was never selected once to meet the pastor, yes we watched many students (miracle seekers) come & go without healing, yes we saw a few who were "healed", yes these healed people were always the types that you really didn't consider as very ill in the 1st place, yes my family strongly believed in the pastor & the power of healing, yes we also left the healing school after 2 futile months of very costly commuting...YES my sis is still wheelchair bound but now a fairly successful make up artist after graduating from Oprah Benson School of Beauticology at Sabo, Lagos.
I found the ladies at the HS rather too young or appeared too loose to be able to handle something of such spiritual magnitude, or so I thought. I also felt the whole ordeal was unkind to both the ill & their family as the programe coordinators didn't seem to realise the material & physical costs of daily attendance without provision of lodging in a city like Lagos.
For full disclosure, I am a grown up atheist & have been so for a long time. But back then, I did retain the hope that CE Healing School would prove me wrong & that my folks would be right after all. Well, I wasn't proved wrong.
I just saw "spent money" "went for 2 months" and I stopped reading.

It may interest you to know that Pastor Chris' daughter developed some sort of Polio or lameness in her legs when she was just 5. He prayed for her, declared healing for her, ministered to her and still she didn't get healed. Then he took her to a doctor and they concluded that she wouldn't walk again so they gave her a wheelchair to use.

When he got back he said he was disturbed. He kept thinking to himself "a Pastors daughter, unable to work". So he took the more sure word of prophecy- the word of God and kept saying to his daughter- "you would walk, you would run, you would jump". He said he said this to her for days. Sometimes he would tell her to try to walk and she would barely stand and then fall back into her wheelchair. But he wasn't deterred.

Sometimes, he will tell her leg "Leg! You would walk, run and Jump". When he is going out or travelling he would tell his wife to say it to their daughter every time or day that they thought about her.

Weeks past, maybe 2 or 3 and there was no change. Then a day past and he took her and her mum to a Supermarket or something. He wound down the Windows of the car contemplating whether to leave her in the car with her sister or whether to push her on the wheelchair into the Supermarket. But just as he was going to her corner of the car she yelled "Daddy! Look!" And then she opened the car, jumped out and ran to him. He broke down and cried saying "Thank you Jesus, I knew you would do it".

He shared this story on occasions but the most recent I can recall was in the Higher life conference in PHC 2008. His daughter is still healed today and if you see her walk you may only notice the slightest limp (and that's if you look real hard).

The word of God works, God is real and he works. Don't let the devil destroy your life through unbelief. The time is short.

trustman: If you truly go through these post you must be noticing things.
Jesus DID NOT need to teach first before he could heal. The story of turning water into wine and many others confirm this.
The same story confirms like many others too that Jesus expression of his healing power was NOT dependent on others. Jesus power to do miracles WAS NOT diminished by people’s unbelief or lack of faith. In fact, it was impossible for it (his power to do miracles) to be lessened because of unbelief or lack of faith. When he chose not to do miracles it was an act of his will. Jesus was in a class of his own.
Mark 6:5-6King James Version (KJV)

5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching

Could in English expresses ability. If the scripture says Jesus could do no mighty works, it simply means his ability was limited in that regard and the next verse clearly shows why- the "Unbelief" of the people in Nazareth (his hometown) marvelled him. The scriptures didn't say Jesus didn't do or wouldn't do (which would have meant his willingness) it said he couldn't do. Stop arguing with the scriptures. That's unbelief.

His remedy to the Unbelief was to begin teaching them.

Matthew 9:35King James Version (KJV)

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people
.

Matthew 4:23King James Version (KJV)

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people
.

That's the order again- 1) Teaching 2) Preaching 3)Healing.

The changing of water to wine is described as a sign and not a healing miracle and there is a difference. If you study them you would see it. So let us not convolute them again.

Jesus was in a class of his own. For starters, remember that he was born without the sin nature.

By the time Jesus started his ministry he was FULLY prepared for it. He DID NOT NEED TO GROW HIS FAITH in order to see that his miracles keep improving.
In all these, what we can see is that we cannot put Jesus in a cage when it comes to how he wants to heal.
I know a lot of you that say some of these things don't really understand Jesus or what he stood for. Jesus functioned on earth as a man even though he was the son of God and therefore God himself. Everything Jesus did he did as a man. He had to grow his faith; learn patience; be subject to temptation; be taught; be baptized etc. If he by-passed all these steps his title as "Son of Man" would have been flawed. Satan would have been right in claiming that God cheated because like Adam, Jesus had to be a "mere" man to face and then defeat satan.

Hebrews 2:14-18King James Version (KJV)

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted
.

The bible says Jesus did no sin and not that he could not sin. Even though he didn't have a sin nature, he could still sin if he succumbed to the temptation of the devil.

1 Peter 2:22-23
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously
:

Hebrews 2:10King James Version (KJV)
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings
.

Jesus was made perfect through his challenges. He wasn't made perfect by birth or inheritance. He had to become perfect even though he was in reality God. That's why Paul said he was humble. He let himself grow his faith like a man; get hungry like a man; even die like a man- yet he was God.

Philippians 2:8King James Version (KJV)
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross

If you study the quality of his miracles from when his ministry commenced to when he died- the miracles kept improving. God by the Holy Spirit was increasing the quality of the miracles for him. That's suggestive of a growing faith. Jairus' daughter had just died, the widow of Nain's son had died hours before, Lazarus had died for days, then Jesus raised himself.

John 5:20King James Version (KJV)
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel

So have all these in perspective when you talk about the "man" Jesus.

A person can still be participating in a thing whilst he begins to have doubts about the thing. So SirJohn’s comments are actually in order since they are his reflections several months down the line of what had previously happened. So that adds up.
If he changed his mind about the ministry in May as documented and declared by his post's he cannot at the same point be talking about how dumb people would be to suggest that the people that got healed were paid to act that way and then later claim he made up his mind 6 months later when he visited the HS only once 6 months before. Even at that he didn't take his own advice to investigate any person including the "big names" that got healed there and are still healed ATM.

Feel free to make it add up to yourself. Nobody can fool me with such inconsistencies.

If a man claims that the Sovereign of the universe gave you a way to heal, then it must be clear and unmistakable that He is at work.
Acts 13:41King James Version (KJV)
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you
.

John 7:12King James Version (KJV)
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people

Other people said Jesus was deceiving the people. They also accused him of using demonic powers. Not everyone accepted that Jesus was from God. They accused Paul too of being the same. The scriptures don't lie only humans do.

The healings in scripture, particularly in the New Testament, had undeniable form –
They were lasting (they were complete and irreversible), verifiable even to skeptics, healings were not over a period of time, they didn’t have to be formally arranged, etc
Prove it from scripture.

Why I talked of throwing open the entire healing school thing to unobstructed examination is so that then it might be clear to all whether it’s what you think or what we think it is in order to among other things answer questions such as:
What percentage of those who come to the healing school eventually get healed?
How much do the procedure for healing there line up with what we have in the New Testament?
And many more.
I have been quoting the NT and I have more to quote. You haven't answered a single question neither have you posted a single scripture. I am being kind to you because you sometimes attempt to discuss the scriptures. Show us what you believe from scripture. That's a good way to start.

With all their "several people noticed" "many people said" one would have thought that as the thread was taken to the front page we would see the "many people" that have gone there and noticed the same things. But what do we see? Children here and there and a few adults that don't read their bibles or are not taught anything in their respective churches.

To all CEC members as far as u guys claim that self service isnt a sin....There is nothing in these world that will mk me blive... i v heard of deliverance done on pple who were possesed by d sprit of masturbation.. tell me if it werent a sin/demonic why dey d deliverance nd there as d person never did it again...@mbaemeka md Gombs
Even as you know that Lying is a sin did it stop you from lying? No. The man who had to be tested for Ebola, I learnt they had to test even his semen. Did he sin when he was providing the sample for them?. Are you not aware of so-called (So-called because there's nothing like that) deliverance ministers that deliver people from 'using attachments and weavons'? Is that also scriptural? There are a lot of things people say or do that are not scriptural but because you have been taught that for a while you believed it. Let only the scriptures guide us.

Kenny4lyfe: I want y'all to remember the words of Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 6 that in these are we approved as ministers of The Lord's glorious gospel.[/b]

Verse 4 KJV - " But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God , in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses...

Verses 8-10 Amplified "8 Amid honor and dishonor; in defaming and evil report and in praise and good report. [We are branded] as deceivers (impostors), and [yet vindicated as] truthful and honest.
9 [We are treated] as unknown and ignored [by the world], [yet we are] well-known and recognized [by God and His people]; as dying, and yet we are alive; as chastened by suffering and [yet] not killed;
10 As grieved and mourning, yet [we are] always rejoicing; as poor [ourselves, yet] bestowing riches on many; as having nothing, and [yet in reality] possessing all things."

Hmmnnn... There's absolutely nothing that's beyond God's word is it?
{Which is why I'm not surprised at the recent stories hyped in the media as they are to be expected/anticipated}

To all I say, whatever you do- keep at it! Your reward awaits you now in this time and in the world to come. Shalom!
I was blessed by these verses of scripture. There's absolutely nothing that's beyond God's word.

trustman: I know that to you everything boils down to ‘faith’ – your definition of it. But can you CLEARLY tell me where Jesus had to first teach ON faith before healing? I know he taught, but did he have to teach ‘faith’ BEFORE HE COULD heal people? Was this His pattern?

If it’s not magic you tell me what it is. If God has given a person a gift, is that person’s expression of the gift dependent on others?
Luke 4
31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about
.

Without even emulsifying this passage of scripture too much, we can tell that Jesus was teaching here over many sabbath DAYS. If you read the story in context you would see that he was chased out of Nazareth so he settled in Capernum and began teaching for DAYS before he began casting out demons and what not. Find out what his teachings were in Capernum and why he had many miracles performed there than when compared with Nazareth.

Was Jesus' expression of his gift dependent on others? Let us check the scriptures.

Mark 6:5King James Version (KJV)
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them

If you read the story in context, you would have seen that he was back in Nazareth here and AFTER TEACHING he tried to heal and deliver people but they kept doubting him and asking themselves "Isn't this Mary and Joseph's son?" "Where is he getting his wisdom from?" etc. As a result he could only do a few minor miracles like healing fevers and headaches etc. The scripture says he COULD DO NO MIGHTY WORK- like raising the dead, the blind, the lame etc. That's what the scripture refers to as MIGHTY WORKS. And Jesus said why the mighty miracles were scarce.

6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

What was his cure for the unbelief? He began teaching. Please study and stop asking me questions in a merry-go round style.

Equating Jesus’ miracles with your ‘MoG’ is so pathetic. Why did Jesus do miracles?
So that people could experience their BEST LIVES then? You actually think Jesus needed to exercise “more faith” to heal that man, and that is why he re-did His healing? You think Jesus Christ could not even from a distance effect COMPLETE healing of that man? For your information, EVERYTHING Jesus did was for a purpose – everything, including healings. He healed to fulfill prophecy, to point people to Himself and even healed TO TEACH.

If a man went to the healing school, does he at least have a faith like a grain of mustard seed for him to be there? And you’re saying that some of them need ‘more faith’ than that of the grain of mustard seed to be healed, even with the faith and healing gift of the ‘MoG’ combined with theirs?
I believe I have answered this above. Jesus grew his own faith and the miracles kept improving. Mustard seed faith is a seed faith and what do you do to seed? You plant it and water it so it would grow. Besides, I never said Jesus re-did the healing to exercise more faith. I said the man wasn't fully healed the first time and it happens!!

Unless you’re claiming that after his initial write-up SirJohn then went back to modify what he wrote then either state where “His write-up never said he made up his mind 6 months later” or show (prove) how he modified his posts – unless we are talking about different posts or thread. But I’m referring to the ones on this thread.

BTW, a person can still be participating in a thing whilst he begins to have doubts about the thing. So his comments are actually in order since they are his reflections several months down the line of what had previously happened. So that adds up.

Again let’s remind ourselves that this is a specific experience of a person that cannot be denied. If so, the onus is on you guys to prove that what he said he witnessed are false.
As it pleases you. I did my own research on him by just reading a few of his posts and they were ridden with contradictions but I do not hold it against him. This is a post he made on a BLW thread in Dec of 2008. Please note that 2004-2008 can never be 5 years.

Believers' Loveworld,
is a place where we share Gods Love
reaching out with peace and love
making plain Gods plan for all
Believers Loveworld building a happier world with love,

For five years until several months back, I would sing this anthem with joy.
Today, I sing it with tears and wish that millions of misled sincere christians singing it will suddenly wake up like I did.

I used to wonder what a world without BLW would be like, Today, I walk with freedom and relief in my spirit knowing I don't have to be bound in that 'world' a world I now know to be stained with falsehood.
He made up his mind SEVERAL MONTHS back. Now use this knowledge to re-read his posts and answer the questions I asked him for him. I am waiting to see how it adds up.

Also, nobody is saying that God does not heal. But we are saying that if you claim that the Sovereign of the universe gave you a way to heal, then it must be clear and unmistakable that He is at work.
For how long will people be deceived especially non-members? Or are you not aware that 70% of the people that go there are non-members? Why do they keep going if God is not at work there?

Many groups and individuals claim one form of ‘power’ or the other. Some who are clearly NOT Christian claim to ‘see vision’. And some of these turn out to be true. But does the fact that such ‘visions’ turn out to be true mean that they are necessarily from God? I would say NO. Maybe you may think differently. So what do we use to ‘judge’ who’s right or wrong? My answer is – the clear teaching of the Word of God about the matter.
Nobody can be employing satanic powers by using the name of Jesus. Do you know what that name means and can do? Do you know the power invested in that name? I know many of you don't know this that's why you say some of the things you say. If I was to meet any of such individuals with that form of "power" and I say "your power ceases to work from today In Jesus' name" you can bet your life that the power will cease. I am not guessing what I just said- and I am not trying to toot my own horn but I have done it before and it worked. AND NO I am not a Pastor. I learnt it from the scripture and I applied it.

By the way, your application of Galatians 4: 9 is very interesting. Maybe you needed to start first with the right interpretation – what the portion is saying. That would have led to a better application.
I am sure you meant Galatians 4:29, and yes I know what it means and I applied it well. Before you talk about "right interpretation" maybe you need to refresh your memory on the word "meditate" and the "law" because not too long ago you and your pal made a horrendous mess of it when you tried to give your own false interpretation of the verses I posited to you.

Maybe you people should throw open the entire healing school thing to unobstructed examination. Maybe then it might be clear to all whether it’s what you think or what we think.
I am sure the misinformed folks whose stories you swallow hook, line and sinker didn't tell you the criteria to be met when any of such schools is to be established in Nigeria let alone SA and Canada. One of which is that the government must have certified that what goes on therein isn't a fraud so as not to put their country in bad light. Thabo Mbeki once wrote to then President OBJ on Pastor Chris and recommended that he be given a national award because of the success of the HS as well as the tourist attraction that the HS was bringing to his country- SA. I am aware that in one of the NOB programmes held in 2006 or so in SA, that Nelson Mandela also made efforts to meet with the MOG. There are many other big names from other nations who have a very different account to what SirJohn had. I wonder how much Pastor Chris would have had to pay them to join the "Act".

Truly a prophet is never honored amongst his own people!!

WinsomeX: I resist the temptation of trading words with you. But let me draw your attention to one minute detail here:

Compare with...

Final verdict from a Christ Embassy member:

We know where you learnt your trade from.

Did I not predict this?

They did not disappoint.

The rest of what you wrote is not worth a response.

And, em... I can predict the next yabis from your limited vocabulary. If its not inane... it will idiocy... or neophyte... or pseudo intellectual. You could even borrow some from your idol, Chris, crazy... silly ... stup-id...

So much for words of grace from supposed saints.

I dare you to say something different.

I am done with you on this thread.
Keep it moving man and see if I give a hoot about you or what you stand for. Trying to save face to make up for your scriptural incapacitation. It's funny how you pick which "CE members" to believe. (The quotation marks on the CE members is to signify that someone whose own level of chicanery and ineptitude makes yours look like child's play wrote that). But I trust you to make your home in the midst of lies- a man must be fed by his source.

CE member ni, CE member ko. grin grin

WinsomeX: In theological discusses, it is very easy to reduce it to a contest of who wins or who looses. I know this because I am equally guilty. However, what is most important is that a position is clearly shown to be congruent with the truth of the bible and not just experiences. Hopefully readers can make informed decisions this way.
Truckload of cow dung. You goofed big time by typing before studying. Instead of claiming that the position is not about winning or losing; take the humble man's approach and do some study. That way your goofs will be curtailed to a manageable level.

Since T. B. Joshua has been accepted as one of the true men of God of our time in the train of discuss so far, I must then widen my net of discussion to include him. From evidences before us, especially as presented by the SirJohn thread, we must agree that there are no miracles occurring at the Christ Embassy healing schools. However, what if miracles do occur; how can that be explained?
This is a cheap way of keeping room for you to switch to since you know you may be making another goof. Only someone entrenched in idiocy keeps making these type of mistakes. I am announcing to you now that you are not only wrong but gravely misled.

Does this legitimize Chris' ministry? Scripture makes provision for that also: it is called lying wonders. This is where T. B. Joshua comes in. The multitudes that flock Ikotun seeking this man's intervention is proof of the fact that whatever he is doing there is working. But as trustman has shown in earlier posts, shall the fact that something work prove its veracity? We must be thankful to God that when SirJohn visited the healing school in 2008, what he saw were pure falsehood. What would have happened if he saw lying wonders? Then he would be like a Gombs or an mbaemeka who are ready to swear to high heavens that there favorite pastors are genuine.
If it looks like bacon, smells like bacon and tastes like bacon. . .it is bacon.

I end this submission with clear scriptural positions that miracles need not be staged or fake; Satan also works true miracles through his servants. Our duty is not to judge a minister by the miracle he does: fake or real; our duty is to judge the minister first by his doctrine and secondly by the fruits emanating from his life. Both of which T. B. Joshua and Chris Oyakhilome are bankrupt of.
"AntiChrist's" need not fake miracles based on your position. So why are these men "faking" their miracles? Before you judge their doctrines you must first ensure that your own doctrines (the one's you are employing as the standard) should be spotless and "error" free. So far what we have seen is an incorrigible pseudo-intellectual bumbling even the easiest of scriptures and making inane assertions not worthy of any thread let alone a christian one. Imagine the statement "Jesus only used the word power twice and each time made no references to miracles" and the temerity to even blurt it out. That way every true Man of God will be deemed a demon and atheists the "only true gospellers". How risible.

As per the fruits, hope you know there are many fruits of the spirit. I need not school you on that as the situation does not call for it. But whatever fruits are expected of true men of God, these men have it more in abundance than the sum total of anyone that has ever come from your lineage and progenitors. See who is talking about fruits with his Multiple IDs and "present wive fables" and lies.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;... 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness... 4:11 These things command and teach. 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity... 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Again the scriptural neophyte and his poorly studied scriptures. Let us peruse what Paul calls the elementary doctrines of the faith.

Hebrews 6 King James Version (KJV)
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment
.

There is a doctrine of BAPTISMS and not just one baptism. There is the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. But the "true gospellers" will have us believe that this gift has ceased and would call those who have it frauds.

There is also a doctrine of laying on of hands. What purpose does it serve?

1 Timothy 4:14King James Version (KJV)
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery
.

2 Timothy 1:6King James Version (KJV)
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands

The gift that was in Timothy was received when hands were laid on him and Paul admonished him to stir it up so he can't be referring to the Holy Spirit as he is a person and therefore cannot be stirred. What is to be stirred is the ANOINTING. No prizes in telling us what the ANOINTING is used for and that goes for those who say "Peter, Paul and Stephen were the only ones to perform miracles". Indeed Phillip, Barnabas, Luke, John, James, Ananias, Timothy and the rest of them all performed miracles.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect
Was Paul around when Jesus said this? This could have been referring to him and Stephen as well. Also he said "Many". Where are the many of them? Your knowledge of scripture is nothing to write home about. You should be screaming "HELP, I DON'T KNOW THE SCRIPTURES, HELP!!"

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light
1 John 2:18-19King James Version (KJV)
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us
.

The antichrist's like Elymas the sorcerer and co. is whom Paul is referring to because they will perform signs and wondrous works but not In or By the name of Jesus. They would not even believe that Jesus is the christ, hence the term Anti-christ. They were already present in John as well as Paul's day.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Revelation 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Wait for THE MAN OF SIN OR LAWLESSNESS to be revealed first. I have no doubt that you and the rest of the "true gospellers" will be around then. Don't worry you won't be deceived then. After all, na una be the "elect". grin grin grin

I would be long gone by then. Glorrrry!!!

In my next post, I shall offer a discussion on each of the scriptures above so we might see their relevance to this thread.

Again we must thank God that SirJohn met fake miracles at the healing school and not lying wonders.
I too thank him for his exposé on fake miracles at the healing school. I also encourage him and any other person that shares his beliefs to visit the Healing school with any sick person as well, and come back with more of such exposés. grin grin grin

trustman: I only feel sorry for you guys. You've been sold a lie and you've bought it.
If the issues being dealt with were not that serious one would have called you guys clowns.
Don't feel sorry for "us" guys- we don't need it. I had a roommate back in the university who called me a "fool for God" because I would attend some church programmes and come back so tired that I would not have time to prepare for my test(s). And whenever he queried me I would retort that I was doing it for God. You needed to see his face that semester end when the results came out and I passed him in ALL the courses including the one's that I didn't even prepare well for. My "foolishness for God" seemed to be working. He never made such a foolish statement again and I remember one occasion where he told someone to "free me" as I had my own way of passing exams.

Yes, I had the God way and I still do. As long as I put God first he would put me first. The people we should be sorry at are the one's who don't believe anything that works yet will be criticizing those of us who are bold to believe God's word and act on it. As the children of the flesh kept persecuting the children of the spirit in Abraham's day. . .so it is now (Galatians 4:29)

trustman: SirJohn has again obliged us with DETAILS concerning his experience in a place
that was supposed to have AN ATMOSPHERE FOR MIRACLES.
Many others gave theirs and it was contrary to his experience but you chose the tainted experience of one over the many others Mr. Objective.

All we see is still attempts at accusations and the like.
IF A MAN HAS THE GIFT OF MIRACLES what should it take for such a gift to be displayed?
The gift works that's why thousands and thousands have gone there and most came back with results.

Will it take a school to first TEACH the students how to prepare themselves for the man's
gift to be displayed?
Who is exercising the gift? The man or the expectant recipients?
Why ask Jesus why he taught on faith before healing people? Do you think it is magic? Do you know how long the queues are or how many people come from around the world with different issues?

The teachings help some to get healed by their own faith while the one's that require "more faith" are then handled by the MOG- contrary to the lies you have been told.

Is their PRESENCE at the SCHOOL not enough FAITH that they expected to see MIRACLE?
Some people come there and get healed without seeing the MOG. Their faiths did it for them-just like Kenya28. There was a Higher life conference in UK 2011 or so when a young girl whose mother worked as an official during the conference came out to testify that she was healed of deafness. The girl's mum said her daughter wrote a note which she [the mum] read out to the audience. The note read "I can't wait for tomorrow to see Pastor Chris and receive my healing, thank you Jesus". As is custom to the MOG, he asked her to back him so he could whisper some words to her ears to see if she could hear. The first thing he noticed was that she didn't hear when he asked her to back him- the usher had to make her do so. Next, he said "one" and the girl responded "Jesus", then he said "two" and she responded "Jesus" again. He looked at her mum who had come out with her and both could tell that the girl could not hear. Then he put his hands in one of her ears and yelled "Come out In Jesus' name!". As soon as he did this and told the girl to turn around she did so immediately. Then he said "one" and she re-echoed his words. "two" and she did so again. Her mum broke down in tears. I doubt that any single dry-eye was left in that place.

And I said that to say this- when the girl came out to testify I asked myself how she was able to get past the Doctors and members of the medical team that try to verify that one was indeed sick and is now healed. A part of me thought she probably used her mum's influence to, but another thought said maybe she indeed was healed but not to her desire or maybe it was faint. But when she came on stage and met the MOG, the healing was complete-very very. Jesus had a similar experience:

Mark 8:22-25English Standard Version (ESV)
Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida

22 And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” 25 Then Jesus[a] laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly
.

So the fact that SirJohn saw people act their faith and start walking but then later saw them stand on the line to get ministered to by the MOG doesn't mean that they are acting. They might want a more complete healing like the man above.

Now, look at this:
Mbaemeka's response to SirJohn being at the healing school in May 2008 is this -
Foul sir! For the simple reason that the post you made was on the 19th of May 2008. When you had just finished watching the "charade" in the first session of the HS. I don't know why you bothered staying through till the end of the 2nd session when it was evident to you that neither you nor your "invalid" was going to see any real miracles.
Now to an objective observer of the trend, the questions that can arise are:
SirJohn himself mentioned that it was several months after the healing school
episode that he made up his mind about the things going on at the healing school.
So what is the 'FOUL' about? And what is the query on staying till the end of the 2nd session for?
Did he read the post well?
It is responses like these that make one wonder if they are actually out to see the facts of a matter
or they just want to 'fight' any perceived opponent's arguments whether it is reasonable to do so
or not.
His write-up never said he made up his mind 6 months later. He is the one redressing it to balance the loophole. He kept saying "I observed this" "I discovered that" "I said O lord let this not be true" "In November 2008 he made posts saying to CE folks "I stopped doing this and that months ago" etc. So Please don't give me BS- I know what I am talking about.

That's why I asked him why he bothered staying for the next session when he had already made up his mind from the first session that it was a fraud. The stories don't add up. I have no doubt that he went to the HS, what I question is his account. If he was in CE Ojo, he ought to have seen many miracles happen by the hand of the resident Pastor during Night of bliss programmes and Vigils. I took a boy there (I had recently preached to him so I invited him for the programme) that was born with asthma and he has never used an Inhaler or nebulizer since then. I didn't even know he got healed- the boy told me this story 2 years later in 2011 and he reminded me that Pastor Sola Olubode gave a word of knowledge saying "There's a first timer here that was born with asthma, God has healed you". Is that one also stage-managed?

I have another friend whose father is a Pastor in another ministry entirely but while in the university this guy attended BLW (He still does). One day I asked him why his parents didn't disturb him about it and he told me that during some freak accident he broke his right thumb and it never healed well. It looked shorter than normal and always made a pop sound when he moved it with concomitant pains. Then one day he saw Pastor Chris praying facing the TV and calling out cases as the Spirit gave him utterance. My friend said he wanted to change the station in irritation but he heard the MOG say "there is a young man watching me who broke his thumb during an accident. If you move the thumb now you would notice it is back to its normal position and the pains have gone". My friend thought it was a mere coincidence but somehow he kept watching. As God would have it, his mother walked in and saw him watching the TV so she stopped to listen too then heard the MOG say "You are sitting on a white couch and your mum is standing close to you, you are healed". Then my friend realized it was more than a coincidence and he saw he was healed. His parents were wise enough to let him worship were he wanted to- CE. If he sees Sirjohn in person, he will slap him. grin grin

WinsomeX: After I had written that Jesus used the word "power" twice, I did a quick search and discovered I was wrong. I immediately corrected that post. I accept that that was an error.
Next time study properly before arrogating the right to call yourself a "true gospel whatever" because those of us who know so much more than you will expose you and your pseudo-intellectualism veiled with bitterness.

However I cannot continue this discuss with you because I realize that we are miles are apart in thinking. One could still debate the veracity of Chris Oyakhilome miracles but T B Joshua... haba! Forget it.
Yes we are light years apart in thinking. You know a little above nothing scripturally and yet you think you can spot out who is spiritual and who is not. Such delusion is what has blinded you thus far.

shdemidemi: Is this given power permanent?

What was the purpose for the delegation of power?
Matthew 28:18-20King James Version (KJV)

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus said he has all the Exousia (authority) in Heaven and earth so he told ALL OF US WHO BELIEVE IN HIM to GO with it to teach and baptize IN HIS NAME (for his name is what the father and Holy Spirit answer to). Then he said he will be with us ALWAYS till the end of the world.

How will he be with us ALWAYS when he was ascending to heaven and is there seated now? By the Holy Spirit that we received when we got saved:

John 14:16King James Version (KJV)
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever

If the Holy Spirit is here his power will still be here because he is the author of the miracles. And if we receive him we also receive power (Dunamis). That's what Jesus meant here:

Acts 1:8King James Version (KJV)
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

As long as the Holy Spirit is around the power will be and since the Holy Spirit will be around forever, the power will be around forever too. QED

Topgainer: I carefully selected the words I used in the post you referred to just like the one I wrote up there about Oyakhilome.

T. B Jushua is gifted like I would say the same for these French Magician that entertain on Weekends. The difference is that he has found a way of integrating the name of Jesus into the act, which to me is most interesting.
As for teachings and tricks, he is as bad as Oyaks but less arrogant than Reverend Oyakhilome
And yes among the Nigerian GOs whose organizations and teachings look dubious, he appears distinguished by trying his best at a modest lifestyle not forgetting that he has avoided the gimmicks of extortion prevalent among these other GOs.
Very very funny. Only if you knew or understood the name or the power invested in the name of Jesus. Clearly you don't like many others here.

SirJohn: @mbaemeka,
Your robust reply was and attempt to reveal 1001 contradictions in my story was very comical.
I'll teach you what a robust reply is and that's what I have taken some time off my very busy schedule to do.

Let me start by correcting you Sir;
Yes I was at the healing school May 2008 session and yes I participated all four weeks of the session.
The may session had two parts, the first part ran from I think 5th of May 2008 to 19th May 2008, the second session started immediately and ended on the 3rd of June. A total of about 1000 participants or should I say students were admitted in the May session, about 500 students in each part. All these details like may others I have provided in this forum can be verified.

You quoted a post I made on NL back in May 2008 in defense of Pastor Chris, well its very simple, I was still a member and follower of Chris at that time, My mind was made up about the things that I saw in the healing school several months after part 2 of the session which ended on June 3rd 2008.
Foul sir! For the simple reason that the post you made was on the 19th of May 2008. When you had just finished watching the "charade" in the first session of the HS. I don't know why you bothered staying through till the end of the 2nd session when it was evident to you that neither you nor your "invalid" was going to see any real miracles.

There are about six months between the end of the session and my original post on NL; within this time, I did series of consultations with several leaders in the ministry starting from my leader, the governor of Haven 1 Christ Embassy Ojo and other deacons and pastors.
It may interest you to know that I once worshiped with CE Ojo within this time frame and I know most of the leaders there including Pastor Sola Olubode. I will put my own calls to verify your story when I have the time.

Attached with this write up is the unedited letter I wrote to my pastor at that time, he had seen my post on NL and demanded that I write officially to him; I believe Chris eventually got a copy of the letter.
OK

You also asked why I didn't pray for the person I took to the healing school; well that's funny considering who this is coming from. Why not ask CE pastors that send folks to the healing school why they do so
Matthew 17:16King James Version (KJV)
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

We are all growing our faiths bro. I prayed for a distant cousin of mine that was suffering from full-blown AIDS (albeit his family kept it hidden from all of us) and the young man still died. I was hurt but it didn't make me doubt God's power or willingness to heal as I have spoken to others before and they got healed-sometimes instantly!

One of the most disturbing questions among many other things about the healing school was why did people have to be put in wheelchairs even when they can previously stand and walk? Why are people made to lie on stretchers and beds to appear to be bedridden when in fact they are not?
Some people's conditions get worse even while there and they placed them in wheelchairs and stretchers. But your account was contradictory. You said you saw a Lady who was supposed to be "acting" like she couldn't walk when she could. After the "act" you said she sank back in her wheelchair with a pale look on her face. If she could already walk well she should not have any pale look on her face. You flowered that aspect to buttress your grouse for whatever reasons known to you.

You are not the only intelligent person on earth. If your account was as true and clear as you say then close to the remaining 700 people saw the scam with you which if extrapolated by 6 years and 2 other HS' (in SA and Canada) that about 8000 people should have the same experiences with you. And if we include how viral information such as this should be then over 80,000 people should be saying the same things and that is not the case- not even close.

2 things you said in previous posts of yours just put my suspicions to rest. In one post you said: some of the students threatened to expose the sham but you calmed them down (after the first session) and in another post you said: I am of the opinion that we may never be able to see some of the bible miracles in our day. . ." and then you made references to medical science and what not.

My advice for you is that you should keep encouraging people to go there and see how "stage-managed" the miracles are. grin grin

I will not be able to convince you and you would not be able to convince me either- It is the dog that wags the tail and not the other way around.

I rest my case. . .again.

Instead of resorting to ridicule or other underhand tactics what one expects was a more rational evaluation of the issues with a view to pointing out errors if any.
I look forward to your response.
I don't write to convince you. You don't count. I write to ensure that a dispassionate observer would not be swayed by a one-sided and false account as if the Tail wags the dog. If more than 80,000 people visit a place and 20 people have a contrary experience when compared to the remaining 79,880 why would they count?

shdemidemi: 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

power as used in verse 7 is a delegated authority and a temporary right of disposal of God's power for the purpose of averring the message of Christ.

The only place where God's power is guaranteed to Christians is in the gospel and no where else.
FA FA fa foul! The power in verse 8 was Dunamis. He was saying I have given you Exousia -Delegated power/ Authority to use Dunamis- miracle working ability which you will receive when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.

Topgainer: Rev. Oyakhilome has some spiritual backings(influence) no doubt but he has time and again given the generality of Christians reasons to question the particular Jesus his claimed to know.

With the teachings he has been churning out, I am not convinced yet that there are no mix ups in his agenda/mission

Many of the people who devoted their time, energy and money in marketing the Ministry thinking it was impeccable end up disbelieving the existence of God when they realized that they have been hypnotized and that most of his teachings are not biblical or emanating from the holy spirit
A double-sided man, unstable in all his ways will not receive anything from God.

WinsomeX: With the frequent reference to atheism in your post, permit me to assume that you were actually responding to my earlier post on CEC members turning atheists in their disillusion. I stand by those words, and your reference to superior argument has not changed my position at all; maybe your argument wasn't strong enough.
You flatter yourself too much. I told you before. You are the guy who started a thread on Kenneth Hagin and admitted to have never read a book written by him yet you attempted to critique his writings. That's the sure mark of a Pseudo-intellectual (I am being generous by attaching intellectual to anything you post).

In the sphere of philosophy and maybe law, this thesis will apply but certainly not in Christianity. In Christianity we must replace "superior argument" with "truth". If one brings an argument etched in truth, God's word, humility demands that you "switch sides". Christianity is owned by one who is called Wisdom himself. He told us that when we stand before our detractors, he would give us a mouth and a wisdom that no one can gain say. This is what Jesus, Peter, Steven and Paul experienced; why should we in this time despise wisdom and sound argument etched on biblical truth? Answer: Pentecostalism, in its quest for power traded wisdom for foolishness, so that even the power doesn't convince anyone anymore. The world thinks you are a joke. Case in point: Chris Oyakhilome.
Maybe if you spent 10% of the time you use to read nonsense to study your bible you would have come across this in scripture:

1 Corinthians 2:4New King James Version (NKJV)
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human[a] wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power

Mark 16:20New King James Version (NKJV)
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.
Amen
.

Also if you knew a whiff of the man Chris Oyakhilome that you keep talking about, you would have known that he has nothing to do with Pentecostalism. But how would you know? The "truth" you know fails you ignominiously in deciding where the man stands with respect to denominations, yet you want us to believe you understand past John 3:16 of the bible. Joke with only yourself man- only a clown engages in discussions way above his pay grade.

Your frequent reference to frosbel knowing he's been absent from this thread so far is unfair to him. If you are really sure of your position on frosbel, open a thread for him and invite him like a man should, to debate his thoughts.

I do not agree with all of frosbel position on scripture but I will rather have one frosbel to a million CE members in fellowship.
Risible Delusions of grandeur from someone whose own former church didn't give a rat's behind when he left the church. The joke is fully on you.

Let me share this thoughts with you. The American anti tithe proponent on nl, MarkMiwerds, is a personal friend on FB. He is blind. He told me that years ago, apart from his loss of sight he was also confined to a wheel chair. He said God healed him from using a wheel chair; and today he still trusts that God for his sight. Mark is not Pentecostal. He doesn't believe in the shenanigans of Chris and Benny Hinn but he, like me, has experienced God's power.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Julius Agwu has nothing on you.

My point: Pentecostals have no argument when they claim credence in ministry because results and miracles follow some kind of ministry they do. T. B. Joshua also has it. Eastern cults in India and China have greater. The strength of Christianity is not signs and wonders; it is faith. The just shall live by faith. That's the message Jesus passed to Thomas commanding him and us to believe scriptures whether we see results or not. In the pursuance of results, signs, wonders, proof, etc, all sorts of demonic manifestations have entered Churches and the only people oblivious of this are Pentecostals. Read scripture and learn how much Jesus and his apostles warned us against lying signs and wonders that will come in our time. Only two things lends credence to ministry: not miracles but sound doctrine and an upright life (1Tim4). Again, these two are lacking in your idol, Chris; even though he is not in short supply of lying signs and wonders.
What a hapless ignoramus with his surfeit references to pentecostalism. Even T. B Joshua wasn't spared, as if this pseudo-intellectual didn't see the "Pentecostals" hold sermons to discredit T.B's claims to christianity. Like that was not enough, he made the demonic claim that Cults in India and China have greater power than Jesus' name- as if that is not the name that Pastors Chris and Joshua use to initiate the miracles. Besides, sicknesses and diseases cannot consistently obey a man if he does not walk in love, righteousness and true holiness.

By the way, proving that what you [believe] works is not the same thing as 'show me it works' then I will believe which is what most of you are guilty of. But you are not among the "most of you"- you have not believed and nothing you do works including your threads and blogs.

Honestly, I do not get your position here. Are you saying that the power Paul referenced here was miracles? If so, you are wrong. Its simply the power of God's Spirit shown fort in holy living and all the blessing that accompany faith in Christ, which then can include miracles but it is certainly not just strictly miracles.
Even if you would contend people's miracles and power, please don't extend it to the very scriptures that have become so evident that you do not study.

Hebrews 6:4-5New King James Version (NKJV)
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come

Anyone who was once enlightened, received the Holy Spirit, was baptized in him, and has been endowed with the power(s) of the age to come is who Paul was referring to and he said it will be almost impossible for such a person to become an atheist and if such happens he will never be able to repent. That's why you would never have such in our midst where these things happen on a regular.

What you have said is not true. Atheists do not believe in God at all talk less of his power. I do not believe charlatans especially those that preach false doctrine for gain no matter the amount of power they claim they have. There is a lot of difference. I, like many here, are recipients of God's miracles, daily; I do not doubt that God does them.
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Jesus used the word "power" in only two places and they were not in reference to miracles. Jesus said he had power to forgive sins; he also said he had power to lay down his life and to take it up again. That's all. It would be beneficial for you to investigate the source of the power of those you glory in as mentors in ministry.
What an Ignoramus, who said this:

Acts 1:8New King James Version (NKJV)
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me

Power here is Greek for Dunamis- Miracle working ability; ability to cause dynamic changes

Matthew 28:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All power has been given to Me in heaven and on earth
.

Power here is Exousia: Authority; delegated power; authority to use the power given.

In conclusion, neither SirJohn, myself or anyone else that has criticized Chris here doubts that God works miracles. Our debate here is that Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a liar. He has never worked a miracle and he will never work one in his life.
Cell leaders, ordinary members under his tutelage are working miracles and you are talking about Pastor Chris- one who has been working miracles since the 80s. Time has proven you and a few other nonentities to be the liars.

God's message does not need human help. God will work his power when he chooses to; you cannot work him up to it; no one has a "know-how-to-get-healed" machination anywhere to teach in a school. Healing schools are a lie. Many have sort for verifiable proofs of these healings from them and till date non has been supplied.
Yawns.

If anyone is guilty of talk, talk, talk, it is you, mbaemeka, and the sect you profess to follow: because you do no miracle, you only talk.

shdemidemi: I agree
I hope you understand that your so called approach ended with Paul- there were other soldiers of the gospel even after Paul, no wonder was recorded in their gathering. Could it be that Titus, Timothy, Philemon, onephorus et al did not have challenges?
Did Paul keep these power to wrought miracles for all of his life, considering he lived most of the tail end of his life in confinement not knowing when he will be killed?
Romans 1:16

Bro, what exactly is the power of God in this verse?
Is it miracle? Is it signs and wonders that you love to call a proof?
The gospel of Christ i.e the story of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is the power of God, nothing else.
The goodnews is the power of God my brother.
Acts 1:8New King James Version (NKJV)
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you

The easiest thing for anyone to do is to switch sides when a more superior argument trounces yours. The more superior argument doesn't even need to be the truth- just a few facts here and there presented in a more logical or deceptive way and one can make a new convert.

When another argument, more superior to the one that had earlier convinced you comes, immediately you switch sides again and this will be the case as long as one is swayed by the interpretation of facts or truths as the case maybe. That's why you have people like Frosbel who has so strayed to the point that he is now a proponent of Neo-agnostism.

What is the solution? Preach what you believe and demonstrate that it works (I will place a period here). It was Moses' approach, Elijah's, Jesus' and even Paul's.

Paul was a theologian per excellence, but he knew that wranglings with words, strife, exchange of banter etc. Wasn't going to make much difference so he backed up what he taught with the proofs that it worked.

This is pertinent because Christianity would have been like any other dead religion if it was devoid of the power. It would have been a mere case of "serve your God the way you want and I will serve my God the way I want". It is the reason for different religions springing up at almost every nuke and cranny of the world and why some have become atheists- because there is a paucity of proof that anything anybody believes in is real.

Paul said in Hebrews, that it is impossible for anyone who was once enlightened; tasted of the Power from on High; shared in the Holy Spirit; tasted the goodness of the word of God and the Powers of the coming age, if they fall away to be brought back to repentance. That's how convincing the demonstration is and Paul knows it..

So atheists and the likes will be offshoots and found in the midst of those who talk about godliness but excuse the power. The one's who disparage the gifts of tongues or the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The one's who talk, talk. . . and talk more. And the reason is clear:

(goodnews + power = Christianity) while (any news - power= religion/Agnostism ~ Atheism)

trustman: Now, we are talking about divine healing. In the case you stated human volition is involved but in DIVINE HEALING we are talking  about God's own direct involvement. Will you say then that apart from human volitional issues such as abuse of the body that God may not SUSTAIN a healing? So if there are 'conditions' required to maintain divine healing where are they clearly specified in scripture?
Elisha prophesied a son for a shunamite woman and the boy still died. Did the boy not come from God, Why did he die? If this were Pastor Chris you would have said the child was not from God and that was the reason for his death. (2 Kings 4)

Matthew 13
20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles
.

Someone can receive a healing because they heard the word concerning God's ability to heal people. But because they didn't get grounded in the word of faith when people start saying you "were never healed", "it's a placebo effect" that person could stumble and lose the healing. Another instance is sin.

John 5:14New King James Version (NKJV)
14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you

This was after he healed the man of being impotent in his legs. He told him something worse could happen to him if he kept on sinning.

One of the characteristics of divine healing in scripture was that it was complete and irreversible. Another was its spontaneity; healings were not prearranged. In several instances personal faith was not required before healing took place; it was impossible, for example, for those who were dead to exercise any faith before they were resuscitated.
Show all these from scripture.

48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer;[h] your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

There are many instances were people's faith healed them in the bible. In this instance, Jesus did not even know who had touched him but he felt power leave him. The woman's faith healed her similar to Kenya28. In some other instances he ministered by the anointing on his life and that is the same anointing that is on Ministers who are called into the healing ministry (Kenya28 testified that Pastor Chris did not touch her). So it was funny that she came back to blame him when she lost it (I know anger made her do so).

Acts 11:21 says: "And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord." What I see here is that believers were preaching the gospel, the Lord was with them and as a result many were saved. What has this got to do with our discuss on divine healing?
You asked me On claims of the church is 'growing', Pastor Chris is 'going up', etc other religions, new age teachings, etc may be growing worldwide, does that mean it is sign of God's approval of them?

That's why I showed you that verse- when God is with you, if you preach the message as he told you to do, many people (that you have made contact with) will believe you and be added to you.

Trustman,

[quote author= SirJohn]Many have wondered and would like to know the truth about healing and miracle claims from the healing school of Christ Embassy. I’d like say a few things about the genuineness of these miracles which have sparked endless questions. What I’m about to say may sound shocking to you but it is the truth. it is a first hand account of my experience at the healing school[/quote]Drum rolls! The inducement begins with the first line ^^ to make his account seem believable

What you see on loveworld videos/TV, especially miracle testimonies no matter how believable they appear, are simply what Pastor Chris and his TV crew wants you to see. The truth is that a larger number of people including his pastors, partners and even you hardly ever know what goes on behind the camera scenes.
Here he is employing the same tactics that he is accusing CEC of by trying to appear believable. Interestingly he adds that a large number of pastors and partners are being hoodwinked. Only SirJohn was wise enough to spot the ploy even if he went there to get an invalid healed. *nods*

I was at healing school May 2008 session and the discoveries I made blew my mind and shook the very foundation of my faith. I spent a total of 4 weeks at the healing (it had two sessions and each ran for two weeks) this period of time at the healing school afforded me the opportunity to observe certain unusual happenings which I must reveal.
All through May he says he was at the Healing school. Which means by the 19th he should have already spent either or close to 2 weeks and has already made most if not all of his observations yet he made this post when Pastor Chris was accused of paying people money to act healed:

SirJohn(m): 9:00pm On May 19, 2008
Here is my opinion: these folks that are paraded as recepients of healings or miracles are neither ghosts nor are they aliens. these are Nigerians who live among us; I think it will be absolutely dump for anybody to want to stage a miracle with someone whose origin can be traced easily.
I have been a member and a consistent financial partner of the ministry since 2004. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome had been my role model, mentor, prophet and father. I have followed his teachings and doctrines to the letter so much that you couldn't talk with me for 10 Min's without knowing I was his follower.
If this were true, you should have atleast some of your experiences where you applied his teachings and saw results. How many sick people did you heal? How many miraculous things happened since 2004- nearly 4 years later? Why did you continue believing the teachings (that you followed to the letter) without seeing results?

I had taken someone who was wheelchair bound as a result of spinal cord injury to the Healing school with hope that Pastor Chris would minister to him at the end of the session (at least this is what I was made to believe from several healing school publications) but this was not to be, and the events that followed were shocking and beyond my imagination
Why didn't you try to minister to the person yourself?

After the first session, there was to be a healing service where the students having received faith to be healed, were put on the healing line to be ministered to by Pastor Chris. This was where my questions started. The reason is that not only did we not make it to the healing line but several other folks with obvious physical disabilities were also not put on the healing line. I made efforts to find out the criteria for the selection that was made; this was what I found out:
I expected these "several" folks to come out and report the charade that they were experiencing. I would have done so. In fact, I would have caused a scene like Bartimeaus.

I discovered that all wheelchair cases taken to the healing line for ministration were people whose conditions were not such that they couldn't stand or walk. in other words, the people you see popping out of wheelchairs in those videos can both previously stand and walk. They are carefully selected through a process I will discuss later.
O they could walk? So why were they at the HS to begin with?

Secondly, to my utter amazement, I also discovered that several other people whom I had seen on different occasions walking around the hall unaided and without any sign of pain or disability during the two weeks session were put on wheelchairs or made to lie on stretchers during this healing service
If they had no signs of pain or disability, what were they doing at the HS? And they were several of them. Hmmm. Your memory must be very good to have kept track of all of them while your invalid was waiting to be healed. Commendable discovery.

After much waiting, the “Man of God” walks in touching every one on the healing line and then proceeds to the wheelchair section; with one touch here and there he instructs them to get up “and they do” wild shouts of excitement reverberated across the auditorium as partners and pastors who have been specially invited to witness the miracles jumped for joy. I felt like sinking through the solid ground, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Once in a while I would utter a word of prayer, I’d say: “Lord please don’t let this be what I think”
I understand. The Pastors and partners were being deceived bare-faced and you, who went there to get an invalid healed, had seen beyond all the hullabaloo.

I remember a particular man who came for that session; he had been involved in a motor accident which left him with a spinal injury. He had difficulty walking normally because he couldn’t bend both knees while walking (I had seen him walking) he came with a neck guard and two crutches to support himself properly while walking. I observed that two days after coming to the healing school, he started exercising his faith by moving around without the neck guard and crutches, that was how he moved around for two weeks.
Wow, it's a miracle. The man exercised his faith and began to walk after 2 days? He should have gone home. Why did he stay? And you were observing him from day 1 till day 14 (even as you observed all the people in the HS)? Wow. I won't have had time to observe people like this, given that I went there to get someone else healed.

During the healing service, I was shocked to see the same man with his neck guard and crutches which he hadn't used for two weeks. Pastor Chris prayed for him and took the neck guard off as though it was a big deal, the congregation applauded and stood to their feet as he went on to take the crutches from the man; he then asked the man to walk. The man obviously walked but not any better than he had walked for two weeks without Pastor Chris praying for him.
I don't know why the man stayed 13 days after he started exercising his faith. Besides, did Pastor Chris know that the man had been previously moving around without the neck guard and crutches?

After the service, as the partners left the hall, the students and the “healed” were asked to wait behind. I observed that one of the two ladies who got out of the wheelchair half an hour ago quietly sat back in her wheelchair with a pale look on her face, the people who brought her all the way from Benin didn't seem like they had seen a miracle; this puzzled me more.
Interesting. Earlier you said
I discovered that all wheelchair cases taken to the healing line for ministration were people whose conditions were not such that they couldn't stand or walk. in other words, the people you see popping out of wheelchairs in those videos can both previously stand and walk.
Now you observed that 1 of the ladies that acted healed by standing and walking quietly sat back in her wheelchair with a pale look on her face. Why did she have a pale look on her face if she could already walk and stand? She should have been walking and acting very normal. That would have been a better deception, don't you think?

In conclusion, I can say without a doubt that you are a journalist or maybe a very good writer with imaginative predispositions. You were not a member of CEC (at least not in Spirit) and you did not go there with any invalid.

You went there to prove that what you had suspected about the HS was true, so you spent a large part of your May 2008 observing what you were seeing there and thinking of creative ways to re-tell it. The account you gave us lasted for 2 weeks but you said you spent 4 weeks there. Why didn't you leave after the first session (2 weeks)? That would have been the breaking point for me. After noticing that the place was a charade I won't have bothered waiting for the next session if I really went there to get someone healed. The only thing that would have kept me for the extra 2 weeks is if I was on an assignment.

I see no reason why a HAVEN secretary who had been in the ministry for 4 years (coughs) and has attended a handful of conferences won't have seen people in the audience that got healed without Pastor Chris laying hands on them and many of them don't ever end up testifying. I struggle to understand who your branch Pastor was that you never saw anyone get healed in the programmes he would have organized. I don't know why you didn't take your own advice by talking to the people who "acted" healed and investigated them? Why didn't you check if they were being paid to act?

I believe between May and November when you made your post, something happened to you and I doubt it had anything to do with your experience in the HS. I don't know your grouse with Pastor Chris but I think that it is personal and has veered off into the situation where you always wake up when his name is mentioned (you came on the "lost" threads that talked about his trip to India and the auditorium he built in AAU) amongst other things.

I know many people and I have heard testimonies of many others who visited the HS and came back healed. All of them are still hale and hearty. So I leave you to the observers as you can never convince anyone who applies the name of Jesus to situations and sicknesses and has seen results (sometimes instant) that 1) healings are fake or placebo-effect elicited 2) that Pastor Chris who we see use the name of Jesus for the same situations is faking it.

He can deceive people for some time certainly (if he was faking it). But not for how many years now- to the point that he has even started another one in Canada despite all the allegations and "scandals". Besides, what does he stand to gain? He doesn't charge a fee and contrary to your assertions that they "force" people to become partners that was not my experience so I don't know what to make of yours, except to conclude that it is not true.

I rest my case.

trustman: My points are these:
If the healing school produce the results claimed by you guys it will sell itself. You don't need to call a critic of it a liar or try to discredit him for presenting AN INSIDER experience of it.

SirJohn provided a video and showed what was wrong with it. He noted how many were edited. He stated specific DETAILS of the processes and procedures at the healing school. What an objective observer expects is for you guys to either come up and say 'No, you are wrong here. The video is not as you say' or 'No, we don't do this or that at the healing school'. But you have not done that. That is what I mean by NO CORRESPONDING REBUTTALS from you CE members. Simply stating that they have been given doesn't cut it. Statements such as 'ok have it your way', or the like simply do not answer anything.

Again, can you PROVIDE SPECIFIC EVIDENCE that SirJohn fabricated all he posted by mixing truth with lies and that he is not a straight person?

Can we say then that SINCE people who get healed at the healing school CAN LOSE their healing what they get there is CONDITIONAL HEALING and not really a healing of permanent nature? Since they need to keep following some 'rules' in order to 'maintain' their healing?

Is there really a Christian or Christian group that claims LIKE YOU SAID that "healings have ceased, God does not take away sicknesses etc" ?

You didn't really answer this question:
On claims of the church is 'growing', Pastor Chris is 'going up', etc other religions, new age teachings, etc may be growing worldwide, does that mean it is sign of God's approval of them?

Your quote is about Ephesus. My question is on whether success by any group is necessarily an evidence of God's approval.
Expect a robust reply from me on my observations from SirJohn's account. I am not exactly chanced to do so now as I would love to.

As per on what you call 'conditional healing', if a man gets healed of say an STD by taking medicine is he allowed to go back to frolicking with women of easy virtues or is he supposed to take better care of himself by abstaining from such?

I ask this because you have this notion that because someone was healed by God's power, satan will all of a sudden leave such a one to keep living in health or do you think that if the Pharisees had acted out their plans to kill Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead that Lazarus would not have died simply because Jesus had already raised him back before? Please be objective.

Jairus daughter, the widow's son, Dorcas, the Guy Paul raised etc. Do you think these people still died after being raised back to life or did they just float into heaven? Where they not responsible for themselves even after being raised? Won't they have eaten well; bathed well etc. Henceforth?

It is the same principle. For instance, Jesus told a man that he had delivered of demons to be careful as the demon after roaming around and finding no place to rest would go and get more demons (wickeder than himself) to come and join him and they would go back to the man (whom he had just left). Why do you think Jesus said so?

Have you seen Frosbels take on the divinity of Jesus? Was Frosbel not once a member of Deeperlife bible Church? How come he doesn't believe in the divinity of Jesus which the Deeperlife clearly believes in? Do you think his leaving them has anything to do with his new beliefs?

That's exactly what can affect anyone who gets healed. Satan does not say congratulations and leaves you alone, no. He will look for ways to destroy your faith and he will succeed if your faith hasn't grown roots. Jesus said so. That's why we advise people to stay in the faith that got them healed in the first place and after having done my research on Kenya28 and even on other people's ministries like Benny Hinn and co, I have found out that the few who 'lost' the healing did so after going away from an environment where faith is taught profusely.

As per your question on growth, Please read Acts 11:21. That's what I was referring to as well. When I am chanced I will take SirJohn's post line by line and show you my observations.

WinsomeX: Check the essay again and notice I supplied that scripture and another in 2Tim 3 as only places man of God is used. Quoted in isolation, you can use it to justify your doctrine. Quoted in context reveals that Paul was enjoining basic Christian character on Timothy as an example for others to follow.

So the man of God here will either apply to all of God's people or none. I would have requested that you search through Acts or the gospel to find MSN of God. There you will find none. Even the pharisees never called them such.
Read the book of Timothy and see when he referred to generality and when he was specific. In that verse I quoted he said but YOU O Man of God. He was referring to Timothy. He was grooming the young man. Of course, we can learn from the scriptures and apply it where necessary but we can also rightly divide it too.

Yet you decided to single handedly pick out and justify oyakilome but what will you now say of okotie? What excuse do you want to give for him? I am sure he was in aso rock right?

Stop being a dumb brainwashed jerry curled mofo and smell the truthful breeze of fresh air.
Stop being an ignorant churl. I don't know Pastor Chris Okotie from Adam besides I don't believe he regularly does that. He did it after making some controversial statement about the Roman catholics and I don't think it is status quo in his services.

Randy escapades in PHC? Why not Lagos or Switzerland? Keep your Hotel fables for someone who knows nothing ok? Or better still beg the girls to come out and expose him.

trustman: If your 'truth' about the healing school is so obvious you guys will not be fighting
this thread they way you are doing. The 'truth' will sell itself.
You believe the bible is the truth abi? Let it sell itself.

Like a typical WoF devotee or CE member you have failed to react to the main issue.
Clear and concise accounts of what was witnessed were presented, but no corresponding rebuttals from you CE members.
There were many rebuttals but those flew over you. Besides, I wonder what he achieved? He mixed truths with lies to make the dish palatable but I saw through his nonsense.

Mind you SirJohn didn’t say he does not believe in divine healing or that some who were at the healing school were not healed. Remember he mentioned the issue of the placebo effect and ‘mind over matter’?
Will Placebo effect put a smashed femur together? Will Placebo effect make the HIV status change to negative? Will Placebo effect dematerialize cancer, unblock clogged arteries, cause a child suffering from cerebral palsy to begin to walk and act normal?

When you hear him say some were healed you assume 50 people came to the HS abi? NO, 1000s go there including ministers of other churches. The name of Jesus works man! There was a lady who came from Ghana after she had undergone chemo with no significant change after it. The MOG ministered to her but she didn't look like there was a change. He told her sons who brought her to take her back to Ghana ln that coma-like state and that after some days she will get up. Long story short, after a few days her family members thought she was dead and almost fought to get her buried but her son's objected to it. She got up like she had been sleeping. Interestingly, her hair had began regrowing (as it was bald because of the Chemo) and it grew out black hair. The son's said before her Chemo her hair was fully grey. They came back to testify with her after 2-3 years.

What type of mind of matter can do this but the power in the name of Jesus- the one you say you believe in?

So did he fabricate all that he posted?
Can you PROVIDE EVIDENCE that he is a 419?
He fabricated all he posted by mixing truths with lies and yes he is not a straight person. I mean, someone who only comes on NL to talk about one man and one man only is working on personal vendetta. Nothing else.

Is it true that people who were proclaimed 'healed' at the healing school later died of the same ailments?
Thousands visit the HS regularly. If a man gets healed and does not walk in faith he could get re-afflicted. For the HS to be a fiasco more of the people that go there and get healed should die after getting healed than the one's who stay alive and that is not even close to the case.

Does Pastor Chris want to have us believe that they died of unbelief or that they did not have enough faith to sustain their healing?
What does the word of God say? That's what matters. Someone cannot get healed in an environment where they teach you how sicknesses and diseases have been taken away by God and then after getting healed you go to an environment where you are taught that "healings have ceased, God does not take away sicknesses etc" and expect to remain the same. All Christians have an adversary- the devil, who walks about looking for whom to devour. If he sees any opportunity he will take it all, so we are told to give him no place!

On claims of the church is 'growing', Pastor Chris is 'going up', etc other religions, new age teachings, etc may be growing worldwide, does that mean it is sign of God's approval of them?
In the City of Ephesus, so mightily grew the word of God and prevailed!!!

WinsomeX: Again congrats.
But not many people will agree with you. We use to call BLW, believers that love this world. And they never disappoint, as they could be found competing with those who do not know the Lord in manner of life. In my school the pioneer pastor of BLW left at least three girls pregnant at the last count.
Na true. We know your record as a liar so we cannot put anything beyond you. If you could lie about Pastor Chris getting caught pants down I wonder what else you would not say.

I take exception to the word scandal. Persecution, yes. But not scandal. Scripture records that he went about doing good, not causing scandal. CEC should look elsewhere for justification for their unending scandals and not Jesus. Men of faith obtained good report, they were not known to be causing scandals
If you could only read the bible as much as you do the stories of unemployed and broke bloggers like. . .you would be better off.

John 7:12New King James Version (NKJV)
12 And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, “He is good”; others said, “No, on the contrary, He deceives the people.”

As to the distinction btw man of God and preacher, I think what he said is pure balderdash. I am amazed that CE folks have turned it into a quotable quote
Coming from you who said Paul's definition of faith is a false one, anything scriptural is balderdash.

There is no gymnastic a man may attempt in ministry, no miracle he works; those who know the true man are those who live with him. Those who know the true Chris are his wife and kids. You do not live with Chris and the above is your own estimation of him as a "man of God". His wife thinks otherwise. His wife thinks he has "inappropriate relationship" with women. That speaks volume. Those who interpreted it as adultery are not far from the mark as the word "adultery" is not acceptable as an accusation in court.
He has been deceiving men of all races for years now and Hollywood with all their film tricks cannot get by even critics whose below 40 IQ will make you feel like a genius. Presidents of countries, Owners of Industries etc. went and returned with nothing but rave testimonies and a failed blogger and some deluded minorities who are yet to see the rudder of an airplane let alone board one are talking nonsense.

The children that he spent the previous month in Canada with or are we referring to another? The same one's that spoke about how proud they are of him in July? lol. Sahara news and Cable.ng came up with their stories and you swallowed it unashamedly but refused to accept the testimony of the man that not only refuted their lies but he called them frivolous.

As for crazy instructions, no matter how crazy the instruction they do not break Gods laws. There is no God anywhere that will instruct a man to send his wife abroad for church business, while he lounges in Nigeria. The marriage bed can imperilled and God knows this.
The scriptures that say:

2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife

is the same scripture that said:

7 For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that

and: 17 But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk

If God has given you instructions, follow them and mind your business about the one's he gave to someone else for we are not all gracemates.

No matter how "man of God" you are, everyone begins as a child of God. There basic Christian character is built. There is no man of "Goding" that can break God's rules!
Better to remain silent and be thought ignorant than to open your mouth and remove all doubt:

2 Timothy 4:2New King James Version (NKJV)
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season
and yet

Acts 16:6New King James Version (NKJV)
6 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia

I thought God wanted us to preach in season or out of season? Well, God gave a particular instruction to Paul here and the MOG obliged. Some other hypocritical nepios may have said "Paul is a charlatan, he is avoiding the intelligence in Asia- he prefers the Gentiles because he can deceive them easily" meanwhile he was obeying God's instructions.

There are preachers and there are Men of God!!

There is a lot I do not agree with in the PFN but it doesn't justify separation from a body of like minded people. Chris separation from them is his Waterloo. When he falls, he falls alone.
They have tried to make him fall but he kept getting bigger and bigger and more anointed by God. He has a Coat of Many colors- his brothers must envy him but only for a time. Most of the people he heals are from members of the churches headed by PFN men.

I find it very funny when you resort to this cheap blackmail of destruction or wrath of God because one criticizes Chris. Rubbish. Try another.

If there anyone heading for destruction it would be Chris and his empire. Fortunately, the manner he is handling his divorce case we leave him so messed up... We will all be here. The SirJohn thread ended up justifying the OP after many years; this thread is also waiting.
I remember when some Pastors thought same. They told their members "just watch it, very soon he will collapse" they even made them tear his banners and ministry posters. I don't need to say much, we can compare any one of those ministers to him. They have scrapped their branches and claimed that God asked them to teach the word alone and show not the power- for where? They are broke of the anointing-they are not prospering as before; their mouths have put them in stagnation. That's why you see some of them hobnobbing with Politicians and fighting their battles for them. It is not by political or financial power and might. It is by God's spirit!

At the end, like the Kenyan was received to fellowship, rehabilitated and restored to health, we will be waiting for you guys to return to the truth of scripture. We will not condemn you. We will not shame you. We will teach you doctrine; you will learn because your idol, Chris, would have been long gone into oblivion.
Try a better joke abeg. A cell leader in 100level commanded deafness to leave a man and it left. Yet the man had been attending one Anglican church within the school for a while where they used sign language to teach him. That's why when the so-called former high-ranking member of the ministry and secretary of the HAVEN says he went to the HS and saw nothing we can already tell he is a liar. How did he rise to such level without the necessary signs that follow us as they followed the early church because of the presence of the Holy Spirit?

Hope you can notice what I did here. If what you believe is right, it will work and if it does, please show us the results. We are waiting.

Dragonking: I think you find it difficult to understand english. Letme help you again.

Now i asked a question, protection as a free man? And concluded it will an answer , No...Meaning, did paul get armed men to protect him when he was free and wasnt in prison? ANSWER: No.

Pastor chris is roaming freely without any threat but for a supposedly MOG to start carrying armed men and commandoes about is not only pitiful but also a mockery to the religion called Christianity.

What happened to God's power? Abi e don finish?

As for your other question, i have answered it..although the question was a bit childish but i answered it all the same.
You are making daft references and suppositions. Pastor Chris has held conferences of over a million people seated including armed robbers and cultists. He stood there for hours preaching and ministering and there was no police officer or armed men around him and nothing happened.

In that picture you uploaded he was going to Edo state to hand over an auditorium that he built for his alma mater and the armed men you saw there were provided by Governor Oshiomole. Even at that he didn't ask for Body guards or what not but the Authorities of the church provided them for him and there is nothing wrong with that.

Why not ask him why he uses a vehicle to travel when Elijah and Phillip teleported at some point or the other to change locations? Hiss
