Like I said, I live in Canada as a parmanent resident. Now, this thread has added to the number of countries I'll never step into to spend my hard earned money with kind of inhumanity to humans. Terrible to say the least. And AutoJosh was posting their road on another thread. Not knowing that it is other people's hard labour without commensarable compensation they used in building all the infrastructure. I've always known an average Arab person to be mean, especially the middle Easter, Saudis in particular. If not that Mecca is made compulsory for those that can afford it, I would've counted it among the countries I would like to avoid. That's the world head quarter of terrorism, aided by the US of A. 6 Likes |

truthsayer009: Let's look at it this way. Say you earn 150k monthly in Nigeria and you pay say, 45k as tax monthly, with all the amenities such as you have in Germany, ẹ.g. you don't pay school fees until your children gets to university, free medicals, child care benefit for your children. For instance, I leave in Canada. I earn 3600 dollars per month and I'm being taxed like 750 dollars. Meanwhile, my two children gets ccb of 1300, paid to their mother every month. (Shay I never get my 750 back ?) 12 Likes 1 Share |

In my view, this Soworẹ issue has really brought to glare our lack of objectivity in our public discuss. We are ruled by emotions, sentiments, blatant lies and denying the obvious facts, and eye service - trying to be politically correct and not wanting to offend our friends who holds same or contrary opinion as we do. In my own view, we were actually sold a dummy by the Soworẹ team. It is true that the DSS made an attempt to arrest in the court room or premises, but video evidence showed that Soworẹ's team hurriedly hushed him back into the court room where the melee occurred. The guy in black suit, who held Soworẹ down is actually a lawyer and he's part of his team. Apparently, the guy held on to him in his (Soworẹ's defence) so that, as he thinks, the DSS guys, whom he thought gained entrance into the court room, will not take him away. But we were sod in the video, by Sahara Reporters, the whole charade in the court room was perpetrated by the DSS.

Now, you see, this is at the very core of our problem as a nation. If after over 25 years of mobile technology, we are finding it difficult to get Internet service at cheaper cost. Just like you, do you know how many people who needs the Internet for a legitimate use like you and which it would've brought them much gain? But as a young person, we focus on the irrelevant issues. Where I live, Internet is the least of the issue I need to worry about, because even my fridge is connected to the Internet. Internet is live here. It is really appalling when after people struggled so ahrd to get the PR status to Canada, they now bad mouth the country. It is very very absurd and a sign of ingratitude to God and the system. People come here, especially Nigerians, to complain about so many things as if they were forced to come live here in the first place. I mean, if where you're coming from is any better, if your Banana Island in Lagos, or Maitama in Abuja is devoid of any problem, why come to Canada in the first place? You hear them complain of cold, complain of the primary and secondary system and be looking for Catholic School here and there. We have come again with our entitlement mentality to a foreign land. If only you know how many desperate young and men women out there that are struggling desperately to be in this position. I mean, how!!! How can anyone from Nigeria in particular be complaining here? Even if you earn millions monthly back home, you should have stayed back now and stop whining like a baby. Like I said, after some people have attained the PR status they want to now demistify it- making it look like it doesn't worth of afterall. All the issues and problems that have raised here on this forum, we face more than all that, and if not worse, back home. Nobody told you they pick money on the tree in Canada nah! You have to work mehn! You have to wake as early as 5am, if need be, just like you in Lagos, and go to work, just like every Canadians do as well, and earn your pay cheque to pay your bills. The good thing, as far as I'm concerned, is that you'll get value of every cent you spend. Unlike where I come from, where I pay 5k for NEPA every month and spend 15 to 20k on fuel for generator. Isn't that madness? Please, we shouldn't complain abeg. If you're going through tough times, yes tough times are bound to happen, like I've been out of job for the past three weeks, let's simply cry out for help, period! Not castigating and making it look like it was a bad decision. 84 Likes 7 Shares |

DEEE573: Well, in my view, staying at home is a very BIG job on its own. So, why look for another job in addition to a 24/7 job. Anyway, that's just by the way. I'll suggest you try arise network if the mum is computer savvy and can do some customer service work. Do some research about them. In addition, and this depends on where you're in Canada, why not go to school, take advantage of the subsidized day care and register for a course and also apply for OSAP, Ontario Student Assistant Program. With that, instead of just being at home, you can take the child or children to school and day care, and attend your own classes too if you plan it well. Those are two options I've suggested. Meanwhile, like I said, it all depends on the province you live in. 20 Likes 15 Shares |

MrsNwaAmaikpe: First of all, I'm sorry about the way you were treated at the mosque for something that isn't your fault first and foremost, and most annoyingly by your fellow women who were suppose to know better. This isn't the way of Islam. Secondly, I think you have to carefully trace your step back and do a deep search of true pristine Islam. If you base your understanding of Islam on what you see around, or what people say or do, I'm afraid, you wont appreciate what islam is, especially from this part of the world, Nigeria. So, my dear sis, you can PM me and let's take it up from there if it's not too late. 1 Like |

OruExpress: As fantastic as your analysis seems, you failed to address any one issue based on his indictment. If one has not come across the US indictment papers, you would've misled such a person to believe that this is a persecution rather than a prosecution. How do you explain using funds for NGOs to purchase commercial aircraft for commercial business. How do you explain funds transfered from NGOs account offshore to finance ostentatious life in America, like the purchase of Armoured Rolls Royce, Benz, Gucci, Luiz Vuiltton and the likes? These are the kind of expenditures that gave Mr Onyema out in the first place and put him on the radar. Recall, this is similar to Ibori's case in the UK. Don't also forget that these people are suspicious of any large chunk of money coming from Africa because they know that it will every tendency of fraud. Take this quote from a news paper report for instance It is only in Nigeria that someone can become a billionaire overnight and you cannot unravel how he accumulated his wealth no matter how deep you dig,” business analyst, Osahon Ojigbede, told PREMIUM TIMES. “It is one of the reasons I have been very reluctant to go with those who say we should give Mr Onyema the benefit of the doubt.” Mr Ojigbede said he was particularly gripped by a section of the indictment which said Mr Onyema established several non-profit organisations to move funds around in a manner typical of money laundering. “Since he has said he would clear his name in court, I look forward to seeing how he plans to address charges of drafting fake purchase documents and using proceeds of non-profits to directly fund commercial businesses,” Mr Ojigbede said. American authorities said Mr Onyema used about $3 million from his NGOs, including Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Development, All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited and Every Child Limited, to buy planes for Air Peace 2 Likes |

chukzyfcbb: You dey mind him? What natural food is he even talking about? Do they think we eat toxic food here? Just like you said, with all their natural food, they end up breathing in heavy doses of CO2 from generator and danfo exhaust pipes, with scorching heat and mosquitoes music all night. One mofo abuse me say na cold go kill me for Canada , he said I should enjoy my -40 degree weather, and I'm like thank God say me get light to power my space heater to control the temperature to my advantage, without blinking an eyelid. By the way, we have all the Nigerian Food they talk about here. Sometimes, they argue that it is expensive, they do so by comparing the cost in náírà and kobo. My question is, is it naira and kobo we are earning in Canada? So, you expect me to buy ọlá ọlá poundo yam in Canada with the same cost at Sabo market. For their information, na okomu oil from delta state I dey take cook, and I eat dry fish and oporoku from 9ja. I brought 9ja with me, and you have it everywhere here in Canada. In conclusion, I don't blame those who diss us for leaving Nigeria. I was in that shoe too at some point in life until I get here. I have read and heard a lot of false information about living in Canada. However, this is not to say living in Canada does not have its own challenges but you can't eat your cake and have it back. Redman44: No one, you based most of your argument on eating natural food, and also talked about Canada using immigrants to oil the wheel of her economy as if there's anything wrong in that. Nigeria that is using her citizens to oil the wheel of her economy, where has it taken her to, poverty capital of the world, just as the same Nigerian citizens claim, which in my view is not true anyway. Now talking about eating natural food or not, ever since I've moved to Canada, I've been eating Okomu Oil from Delta, and I bought it right here in Milton, from my fellow Nigerian at farmstead. She sells yellow garri, white Ìjẹ̀bú garri, Yam fluour (elubọ̀), Maggi chicken, Knorr Chiken, Milo, Ola-Ola poundo Yam, bitter leaf, dry ugu, name it. Indomie, semolina, etc. And I buy my life Ogunfe, killed fresh same day, in Brampton. So, if it is food, I mean Nigerian Food, sis you missed it. If I pay 25 dollars for a plate of eba and vegetables in Canada, that's like roughly 7k in náírà. That's less than an what I make as income in an hour. Besides, it is not even true that we spend that much to eat eba and vegetables in our house in Canada. We cook in our homes. The truth is no matter how you try to demonise it, they are no where compareble. Right now, as I type this, I'm in the hospital to see my family doctor and everything is FREE of charge, covered by OHIP -Ontario Health Insurance Plan. 2 Likes |
