moderatorr: if mr. President didn't say a thing on the blasts critics will still talk.
Why is attention on the president when kaduna state has a governor and police commisioner?
Those people will never do their duties until all attention turn to them.
The Juvernor was quick in declaring a curfew but not quick in protecting his people.
The president ought to have taken care of book haram long before now. he seems to be incapacitated by his actions/inactions and statement. he seism to have given up on book haram, hence his statement that they are everywhere, even in his government, and yet he can not figure them out.

for how long has BH been harassing the nation, yet GEJ is drag footing. The Gorvernor does not control the police incase you are not aware, the prudent does.

If a house is in troubles, do you look up to the first child of the house or the father?

Ivynwa: You guys shouldn't even get started on some tribal hatings in a sensitive thread like this, what is wrong with you black people and your level of hating one another? People are getting killed off by their brothers and country men and you are here pouting on each other "your tribe this, your tribe that". Enough, guys please!
Ivynwa, in as much as we are trying to make them see reason why we should not kill one another, can you hear what my brothers are saying?

ballabriggs: Why kill the innocent man on the street? Why not take your war to BH's den in Maiduguri or wherever they may be hiding. This reprisal would make 'igbo smoking' Pastor Oritsejafor happy, it is what he had always wanted. This reprisals only tell me one thing, the terrorists are winning.
exactly. and thats what i have been saying: its making the terrorist looks like they are winning. and our president could do was to read psalm 91 and sue for peace. how long will he continue to sue for peace or ask us not to be sad or read psalm 91? God!

I am a muslim. I leave in Lagos and I'm Yoruba. Now I'm very scared, very very scared.

The proponent of BH are gradually achieving their aim: create religious war in Nigeria, starting from the North, and spread it to other places in the country.

I pray there is no reprisal attack in the south-west, particularly Lagos.

However, may God forbid, and all my muslim brothers should listen to this, I will never raise my finger to fight any single person on this issue. I will never be a party to a war I do not know the reason why it is being fought. In addition, to my muslim brothers here, we should rather try as much as possible to calm nerves. The Christians are at the receiving end here. And you may wish to know that all these wanton killing and bombings isn't gong to do anybody any good. Defending our religion at this time that emotions are high wont do us any good but should rather console our christian brothers and totally condemn the act.

and to my christian friend, please note that two wrongs does not make a right. I feel very sorry for what you are going through at the moment, may God in his mercy expose those behind all these atrocities. But please exercise some restraints. We can't at this time be embroiled in unnccessary and senseless wars and killings of one another.

Please, please and please everyone. God bless us all

Haven't you wondered why things are the way they are. That even though a new President is elected and a new Administration takes over, executive policy does not change, nor does the State of the Nation - which continues to get worse. Is there some sort of group that has infiltrated both our political parties, our society, our churches or mosques, and schools, our government, and many other places, which has for years been creating and controlling national events, and is only now being officially(?) identified, because it is too late to stop this juggernaut? Yes, I believe there is a growth of the group which has come to be known as the 'New World Order', and why there is such a massive campaign to accept it. They have initially predicted that Nigeria will break-up come 2015. And all these may not be far from their handy work ... while we lay the blame at each other's feet- muslim/christians, southerner/northerner.

President Bill Clinton said in his first inaugural address: "Profound and powerful forces are shaking and remaking our world, and the urgent question of our time is whether we can make change our friend and not our enemy." You need to know just exactly what these changes are, and how they will affect the lives and you and your family.

TravelRe: British Airways Overshot Runway At Abuja International Airport by mbhs139(m): 1:42pm On Jun 17, 2012
0k2NVme: BIG LIE!
The flight in question never overshot the runnway.
The airport runway lightning system is currently being rehabilitated.
A section of the 4000m runnway has been cordoned off leaving about 2600m and just one runway for landings and takeoffs (RWY04).
Also a taxiway leading to the domestic apron has been closed. A NOTAM was issued by the relevant agency notifying pilots on this development.
The BA pilot in question DID NOT overshoot the runnway but intended to use the closed taxiway. On getting to it he met it closed. Since the aircraft can't reverse and there was no way of towing the aircraft by the handlers (Nahco or Sahcol) Tower was notified and the services of Julius Berger were notified.

Simple.

PoliticsRe: Reps Suspend Lawan, Order Anti-graft Agencies To Investigate Otedola’s Firm by mbhs139(m): 10:47pm On Jun 15, 2012
Kobojunkie: We are not saying the same thing. You are saying that he should now, and I am saying that was all he could do before this fiasco and still remains the only thing he can do even with this fiasco.

On ironing out the fiasco first, I don't think that is possible. You have to consider the companies in question were on the list BEFORE the date the 'sting' supposedly took place.

On his evidence, I have not seen it so I cannot comment on it. But whether Lawan is found guilty or not, that does not and should not remove from his companies involvement, or none, in the Fuel Subsidy mirage the country as a whole is still trying to make sense of.
Well, I get your point to a great extent but my battery is flat now at the moment, and fuel don finish for Gen. May be some other time. Good night.
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspend Lawan, Order Anti-graft Agencies To Investigate Otedola’s Firm by mbhs139(m): 10:14pm On Jun 15, 2012
Kobojunkie: What in the world are you on about again? Otedola's companies had the chance to fight the recommendations in the courts to begin with. This does not change anything of that. Whether all his companies are put back on the list, or the EFCC instead investigates 2 of them, that he was fingered gives him power to take the issue to the courts where it will all be decided.

His having video evidence of some scandal does not, and should not change any of the findings during the probe.
Aren't we saying the same thing? I think we are saying the same thing in different ways, or am I not getting myself clear?

But I sincerely believe that putting his companies back on the list when implementing the report without ironing out the bribe issue to it's logical conclusion is a most bizarre thing to do.Am I correct?

Besides, the integrity of that report has been eroded in it's entirety going by recent events. And I also strongly think that Femi's evidence should be weighty enough (if at all they are available) to exonerate him or get conviction for Farouq, and I think that can only be done, not in the house, but in the court of law.

PoliticsRe: Reps Suspend Lawan, Order Anti-graft Agencies To Investigate Otedola’s Firm by mbhs139(m): 9:53pm On Jun 15, 2012
Kobojunkie: Are you suggesting that the Otedola firms were innocent to begin with?
The chance that they are innocent is more than otherwise. Not holding brief for him though, but if he's actually clean, he'll fight this people to a stand still in the court of law. Reason: they can't claim that should still be implemented snit were now and yet wants to investigate his company again after being cleared in a report the house itself is standing and acting on. Except they will jettison that report and start the process afresh again.

Besides, and like I said earlier, since he (Otedola) claims to have video/audio evidence of what transpired between him and Lawan, then the house can't get anywhere with this case- so, I suppose. But unfortunately, we can't get any conviction either way in this case, unless the trial is done in London.
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspend Lawan, Order Anti-graft Agencies To Investigate Otedola’s Firm by mbhs139(m): 9:45pm On Jun 15, 2012
Hunnnnn!

Well, if I were Otedola I'll simply approach the court to restrain the house from investigating my company for any wrong doing after being exonerated by a committee set up by the house itself. Two, I'll sue the house for even attempting to investigate my company after clearing it of any wrong doing it the report and insist that the earlier report be made to stand, and since the Ouse itself have said that they still stand by that report, then they lack the locus status to query my company again based on that report.

Now, come to think of it, how can you say that report still stand and yet you want to bring in a company whose name was initially cleared of any wrong doing only after the chairman of the committee was accused of collecting bribe?

It just appears as if the people will call our representatives can not think more or less than like a child. Well, which ever way they want to take this case, except and only if Otedola himself have something to hide, they will loose if this matter is taken to court.

By the way, like someone said on this matter in an earlier post, why must it always be the house of representative that should be investigating fraud cases, what is the work of the police, SSS, icpc and the efcc? Must they always wait until they are called in? What is the rule of law on criminal investigation?

To cut the whole story short, this one na just film we dey watch, it will soon end. Make one big thing just happen again now, then that's the end of this show. But serious, this people aren't ashamed of themselves. It's terribly terrible.

PoliticsRe: Reps Cut Short Holiday Over Bribery Scandal by mbhs139(m): 4:55am On Jun 14, 2012
dedeike: . This post was obviously done in extreme bad faith. What did Gej do to you again? A member of House of Reps, who prides himself as a leader of integrity, went behind to collect bribe at the residence of an oil marketer. Jonathan never sent him to do so. Neither did Gej assist him with the vehicle that he used to convey himself to adenuga's house at midnight to collect $600,00 dollars. The truth remains that GEJ has shown a demonstrable courage to fight corruption in Nigeria. But it's unfortunate that the northern power bloc who are displeased with his present tenancy in Aso rock is really working hard to whip up hatred against him . Unlike other presidents, Gej is the only president that doesn't throw money at the National Assembly to push his policies thru. If it were obj during the subsidy debate, we would have had gist of Ghana must go spreading around the lawmakers and subsidy would have sailed thru easily. Go and verify. Lawmakers were paid as much as 40 million before GEJ but when Gej came he reduced it to 15m quarterly before the lawmakers jerked it up in the 2012 budget to 29m quarterly. GEJ personally directed the EFCC to go after Bankole and prosecute him for the 10 billion loan scandal. When GEJ noticed that Farida was incompetent and so many graft cases were being mishandled, he sacked Farida and replaced her with Lamorde who is believed to have worked as second in command to Ribadu. It was this same Gej that signed the FOI bill into Law, a legislation which is a veritable instrument for the fight against corruption by a press that knows its onions. Thru the minister of finance, Gej's administration has been able to integrate online payment systems for all Ministries! Departments and Agencies. This govt is undertaking bio metric evaluation of workers in federal service, an exercise that exposed the monumental corruption in police pension. It was as a result of this move that the senate pensions probe was kick started. And unlike what obtained in the past, those indicted so far have been charged to court. following revelations at the subsidy probe, GEJ could not even wait for the report to come out before he set up a presidential task force to handle oil revenue. He appointed his opponent in the presidential elections in the person of Ribadu to head such committee. Which other president has or can display this selfless courage? Not done, he engaged Olisa Agbakoba , Udo Udoma And other experts in the private sector to formulate the PIB ahead of the full deregulation of the oil sector. It is believed that full deregulation will divest govt of control of the oil sector and thus curb corruption. GEJ's govt has offered the atmosphere for all kinds of probes to be initiated in the system. GEJ is not the kind of president who will want to bulldoze anybody into submission. Under this govt, you re free to initiate any probe whatsoever. To reduce. Corruption in the system, Gej is the first president to have set up a committee to cut down the number of parastatals in the country. on the issue of subsidy report, it's funny how some people have politicized it in order to get at GEJ. Unlike previous govts in the past, this govt accepted a report from the National Assembly and even directed the Attorney General to review it and take necessary steps with the relevant anti graft agencies. But the opposition will hear none of that. Gej must enforce the report immediately as pronounced by lord justice Farouk lawan. Where on earth does the executive jail people on account of an inquiry undergone solely by the legislature without recourse to laid down judicial process. It's so funny. Imagine the kind of injustice that would have manifested if Gej had heeded the mob call for Deziani's sack in the light of the present scandal rocking the probe committee. Now any right thinking person would appreciate that it would have been very hasty for GEj to undertake an immediate implementation of recommendations based on a report submitted by a committee chairman, who talks tough in the afternoon and nicodemusly crawls to the residence of those under his probe at night to collect bribe.
I don't need to read through ur whole epistle to know or note that it is ur own comment that was done in bad faith. All I just needed to do was to go through the post you made response to and see what the ealier poster has said about your beloved GEJ.from my observation, it seems you have been paid to come and defend GEJ on this platform, and you are shamelessly doing so. You're only doing your job and you're doing it good. But remember , how will posterity judge you?

Who I Go Ask?:
It's all about how well you package your self/company. (Do the following and you will make at least a million naira (sales) in your first year. (if you are good as you think.) PS: some Tech personnel sucks at marketing. So you can form a partnership with a non tech person

1. You MUST have a website where you showcase your recent works and the services you offer
2. You should register your company and open a company/corporate account with a bank.
3. You should use WE often instead of I, even if it's a one man business. Say stuff like our technical team will..., our sales rep will... , our Legal adviser will...,
4. Predesign some websites eg for churches, schools (SMS), Dating site, e-commerce etc.
Prepare a proposal and try to sell one of your products eg. SMS to a school., Dating site to some school guy, church site to a new generation church, etc
Also when trying to pitch a sale, go with a lady and yourself (or a guy if you are a lady) and dress corporate.
5. After few installations, use words like ' we just complete Example High School's website..., people tend to buy when they see their competition buying.
6. Do some cheap/free jobs at first to promote your brand.
7. ALWAYS deliver quality even if they are paying less
8. Innovate or Die (IT rule- currently killing yahoo, growing google,)
9. Use/Learn SMM social media marketing. You dont need google ads, you need SMM
10. to be contd. typing on phone aint easy.
I like your post. It makes a lot of sense and I'm already working towards that line of action. By the way, how long can one go with a drag and drop web site builder without knowledge in html coding. I'm currently using a drag and drop web builder and it is working fine for me though, but i wont know it shorts comings. Thanks bro. God bless you.

I used that same aircraft same day from Lagos and came to Abuja by 2pm. In the conduct of investigation, certain issues will be addressed to avoid recurrence.

That was a very irresponsible statement from a minister of transportation. Most we blame everything on God and destiny. We all know that every man must taste death but some deaths are avoidable. At best, if it is destiny, why waste time on investigaton then? We stretch religius belief too far when we hinged everything on destiny. Little wonder this people don't give a dime about poverty in the land, it means the poor of this country has been destined to be poor and the rich in like manner.

In addition, according to the minister, the plane brought him from Lagos to Abuja at 2pm, and the crash happened at about 4:30 from Abuja back to Lagos; meaning neither the plane nor the pilots had enough rest.Investigation should start from here.

You don't need to have travelled the world but surely the information age should reveal what is going on elsewhere to all of us !!!!

In which Nation is a President allowed to weakly captitulate to one of the greatest headache of a nation via announcing that "leaner Government not possible" when bloated and profligate Governance is crippling his Country?

Where would it be possible for a President to openly admit supporters/sponsors of terrorists have infiltrated "every level" of his Government yet no one sees any effort to expose and deal with these animals helping to murder Nigerians with impunity?

Where do we see a Government genuinely keen on change and "transformation, in a very corrupt Nation, going to hire a very corrupt Attorney General of the Federation , with a mediocre career, when Nigeria is blessed with many outstanding legal Practitioners with excellent records?

Why will a serious Government , in a nation where the comatose condition of National refineries is a major headache, concede , for two years, the overhaul of those refineries into the hands of singularly the most hideously corrupt public agency in Nigeria i.e the NNPC? Is that not idi.ocy and a deliberate attempt to fail? I.e putting the Fox in charge of the Chickens?

We all saw the rioters who caused a national problem and international embarrassment for the UK quickly apprehended and jailed. Same should apply to fuel subsidy scammers who have done far worse than the UK rioters in my opinion with how they have seriously threatened the economic wellbeing of Nigerians. Yet an openly corrupt AGF, part of the scam himself, prevaricates shamelessly while supported by a complicit President !!!!!

The list of the ridiculous actions of GEJ that shows ,without doubt, his compromised leadership is very long and we would be here all day discussing such but I think folks get my gist.

To the extent GEJ is failing abysmally, the only option open to a politically sophisticated people who shun sentiments and partisanship is for us all to give him 'tough love' by speaking with a uniform voice in telling him he is failing and showing where he he is failing. Instead that cannot happen because we have many ethnic jingoist, paid sycophants and bigoted fools, thinking they are fighting the "Yarobus" and "almajiris" via supporting GEJ blindly, ready to shamelessly mitigate for every failure or wrongful action of the Presidency without a single thought for what obtains elsewhere that is birthing the progress others, previously similar to us, are now enjoying.

Let the sycophants, ethnic jingoists and sectionally biased supporters keep it up. They have a chance to help GEJ succeed and all they do, like the Abati's and Maku's of the world, is to 100% contribute to the inevitable failure of GEJ with how they tell him his robe is "stunning" and "beautiful" when Mr. President is stark naked in public. "Goodluck" to Nigeria. "Goodluck" to Nairalanders.
You made a lot of sense there. But I also think that we should genuinely point out his mistakes while giving him accolades in areas he may have scored high.

I also sincerely think and hope that we would not vote along ethnic, religious or setimental line come 2015.

My prayer is that nobody will come and canvas for my vote just because he had no shoe while growing up, nor on the basis on critism or thwrong banters at one another. All I want to hear in inteligent discussion that will bring the best man out. Like the Queen of England, I say thank you all.
