i wonder when we will stop thinking along the lines of southerner/northerner in this country
My sister, this is why the best thing that has come out of PDP so far is rotational Presidency.

People's opinnion on nairaland prooves that our country is still very fragile and maybe the only reason the Kenyan faith did not befall us after the last election is because 1st, 2nd and 3rd are all from one region.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Should Either Revolutionize Or Disintegrate. by McKren(m): 12:21am On Jun 25, 2008
The problem is people come up with new names on Nairaland to say the same things they have said in the past that does not attract attention.
Foreign AffairsRe: Zimbabwe Opposition Leader Pulling Out Of Election: Mugabe To Continue! by McKren(m): 11:50am On Jun 24, 2008
There will always be the temptation to blame the west and white-black segregation for the problems of Zimbabwe.

But lets face it whatever Robert Mugabe does that have left his country in over 2million% inflation is simply not working and needs to change.

Mugabe's propaganda of liberation and their forefathers siezed our lands is simply outdated. Zimbabwe should stop refighting the fights of their forefathers and move on. 28 years of Mugabe is enough and needs to change.

Zimbabwe was succeeding in tourism and export of agricultural produce. The customers to these two industries are white europeans, if the Government of the same country begins to pursue racist policies against whites why should the Europeans continue financing such a Government.

The truth is while we remind white people of their racist past you have to do it in a way that calls for equality and reconcillation, not revenge. Robert Mugabe was seeking revenge and was bound to fail.

What would have been a better strategy would have been to allow the elite farmers own the land they have but tax them in order to sponsor welfare programmes that will uplift the middle class. Knowing that there will naturally be more black people in the middle class  because they are relatively more in population.

There is no point openly maltreating white Zimbabweans because of what their grandfathers did, no Government will succeed like that. At least not when IMF and such organisations, or the major customers of Zimbabwe's export produce are whites. It wont happen.

Robert Mugabe should go.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Barrs Mu'slims by McKren(m): 8:51am On Jun 19, 2008
why do those girls have to dress like that? and why were they bent on standing behind himhuhhuh

This was a rally in detroit not dubai.

Obama is running for President of United States not Arab league or Africa. If the situation repeats itself 10 times I hope those girls are denied access to those seats.

Something tells me that the VP position goes to Joe Biden or Al Gore.

@Mckren:
If Hillary isn't picked, it will be simply too risky and not smart to pick another lady.

FYI:McCrain is praying for Obama to make this priceless mistake.
That is the most selfish propaganda I have heard from the Hillary camp.

How can they say that if Hillary is not picked no other lady should be picked. Must it be her who will shatter the glass cieling for others?

Hillary Clinton lacks grace.
Foreign AffairsRe: Al Gore Endorses Barack Obama by McKren(m): 7:35pm On Jun 17, 2008
Big B1:
Is there any possibilities that these 2 (Obama and Al Gore) could merge and run together?

I think this will definitely cool down Hillary and her "supporters".
If you are looking for clues look at the appointment of Patti Solis Doyle as Chief of Staff to Eventual VP pick

It signals 2 things for me

1. It will not be Hillary Clinton

2. It may finally be a lady

Kathleen Sebelius huhhuh Thats just a thought
PoliticsRe: Soludo: The Face Of A Thief? by McKren(m): 4:07pm On Jun 17, 2008
On another hand, I understand Soludo; how much is salary of CBN governor?. So he steals like everyone else
That sums up the objective of this thread. The message is pretty clear
PoliticsRe: Soludo: The Face Of A Thief? by McKren(m): 3:34pm On Jun 17, 2008
When you begin to demonise those who oversaw the stabilization of our banking system and ask about whether he has done anything its not difficult to figure out where this is headed to.

Who is the current Finance Minister? do majority of Nigerians even know his name? let alone his achievement

Look, you don't need to re-write history to get Soludo fired. The President can go ahead and do it like he does with the others. All this Soludo this, Soludo that is unnecessary.

We are in digital age, everyone knows the truth. Every serious minded Nigerian can see the troubling pattern developing which is simply nothing but destroying those who tried to make a difference while doing nothing yourself.

From Ribadu, to El-Rufai to Soludo - - - -  the pattern is developing

Go and ask the President to Fire Soludo through your already established channels.

Good atleast you agreed that Soludo is a thief. $17mil = 1.7billion naira.
grin cheesy grin

So lets get rid of this confirmed thief and we can follow-up on the next one.

Nigeria1,

this statement is an example of whats wrong with Nigeria.
where in my post did I mention anything tribal??
I think you need to go to your primary school teacher to remind you the meaning of sarcasm.

Its not enough to paint all those who tried to make a difference in the last administration black

What has this administration achieved huh?? from the AGF, to the SGF, to the Finance Minister to the FCT Minister.

There is no gain including the President because we dont have one.
PoliticsRe: Soludo: The Face Of A Thief? by McKren(m): 1:02pm On Jun 17, 2008
Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!! The thief Soludo has been caught!!!!!!!!

While the saints who are probing Soludo e.g the AGF who has served for just 13 Months has just bought a 100million Naira property in Abuja.

It is not rocket science to figure out why the country has been this successful.
Foreign AffairsRe: Expectationz From Obama by McKren(m): 1:26am On Jun 15, 2008
Obama will be President of United States

any person who is'nt a US citizen or who does not reside in US but believe's Obama will favour him economically is simply gearing up for disappointment.

All I expect from him as a Nigerian is to pursue a Foreign policy that makes the world more peaceful thats all.
PoliticsRe: Adedibu Is Not To Be Blamed For Anything by McKren(m): 6:45pm On Jun 12, 2008
I honestly don't know the point of your argument

An 82yr old man who had no respect whatsoever for the sanctity of life dies and you are bullying everyone else to be sober

May be he should have remained alive to corrupt and maime the people of Oyo

I don't subscribe to useless culture , all I can say is may his family bear their loss. For the man Adedibu himself I don't pity him, I don't miss him and am not going to pretend about it.

It does not matter what any law says, if the trio of Micheal Aondoakaa, Babagana Kingibe and Shamsudeen Usman want him gone then he will go. The whole talk about rule of law is gibberish with this administration.

I dont take this Govt seriously, Nigeria has no President - a group of mafia has taken over.

My only Annoyance is I dont know what Shamsudden Usman has done so far as Finance Minister neither do I know what Sanusi Daggash has done so far as planning Minister.
PoliticsRe: Adedibu Is Not To Be Blamed For Anything by McKren(m): 6:21pm On Jun 12, 2008
The death of Abach sent a shock wave to the elit class, and that incident gave birth to a swift transition to democracy even though our current democracy is not perfect.

Abacha's death opened the road to freedom to a Nation, even though his likes the IBBs and Buharis would rather want to re-write history.
I personally celebrated his death and given a second chance I will do same.
Foreign AffairsRe: Barrack Obama, Please Pick Hillary If You Want To Win ! by McKren(m): 10:56pm On Jun 05, 2008
Wanna know if Obama will pick Hillaryhuh??

Listen to those who Obama listen to, they include

1. Dick Durbin (Obama's no 1 political mentor)
2. Tom Dashcle
3. Ted Kennedy
4. Very recently Nancy Pelosi.
5. Most importantly Michelle Obama

None of these people think Obama-Clinton ticket is a good idea. The announcement of Caroline Kennedy as a member of Obama's VP vetting team is also no accident. Note that Caroline is no friend of Hillary.

I don't even think Obama needs any adviser to lecture him that if Hillary is VP she will always enter the whitehouse thinking I should have been the occupant.

If Obama picks Hillary as his VP then know that he is such a lame duck, 18 million voters or not.

If Obama's VP is a woman then know that it will be no other person than Kathleen Sebelius.
PoliticsRe: 14 Years For Yaradua In Aso Rock; Worst Than Obj's 3rd Term. by McKren(m): 8:50am On May 23, 2008
look for all our imperfections, somethings just wont happen in Nigeria

IBB was a Northerner, but could not last as much as he wanted, Abacha was a Northerner but could not last forever as he wanted. In fact these are Military dictators yet they could not stay longer than 8years each.

So where will Yaradua get 14 years from?

This is not about North or South, Nigeria is simply not Zimbabwe or Gabon
PoliticsRe: 14 Years For Yaradua In Aso Rock; Worst Than Obj's 3rd Term. by McKren(m): 7:17am On May 23, 2008
Saminu Turaki obviously knows that this wont happen, if OBJ could not pull off a third term ,  3 times of Yaradua can't get tenure extension of even 3 months.

the question is what might be his basic objectivehuhhuh

my guess is this is simply diversionary, the main target is to kill the constitutional review. I have never been in support of total review or re-writing the constitution in the first place because this simply provides our Senators the opportunity to divide themselves into regional, ethnic and religious groups and end up not getting anything done.

They should simply emphasize the adherence of the current constitution as there are a lot of human rights issues in our current constitution that is not given its full meaning.
Then areas of the constitution that has to do with transparency in Govt, economy, healthcare, education can from time to time be proposed as bills to be discussed individually. These are areas we should agree with one another regardless of tribe or religion.

This constitutional review will not get anywhere, they will waste our time, money, tv air-time and yet not achieve anything. The reason is simple, there is so much trust and empathy deficit in our country between ethnic and religious divides.

Our leaders showing contempt to us, this is what you get when you have a President that is undecided on everything.
PoliticsRe: Behold; Another Ribadu In The Making. This Time A Woman! by McKren(m): 10:42pm On May 16, 2008
Believe this you will believe anything

This whole game started when Aondoakaa proclaimed that EFCC has no power to prosecute, this is simply a continuation of that game.

Guys weep for Nigeria. We have no President, this Government has been hijacked

I no go mind be his in-law sha , lol
PoliticsRe: Demeji Bankole(speaker House Of Rep) On Hardtalk by McKren(m): 7:34pm On May 12, 2008
Dimeji Bankole was as honest as he can be as a serving speaker in the same Government

Though I have no doubt in my mind that he said a lot of things that even he does not believe in

However Nigerian politicians should be told that wearing the flag on their lapel is no substitute for patriotism, there is no point looting the treasury and doing nothing about the hopelessness of the mass of our people but yet be the first to wear Nigeria's flag on the chest.

LAKANYE~:
Lets wait and see how much more money she can afford to WASTE.
Her efforts are like attempting to fill an African hand-made basket with water. Its NEVER GONNA HAPPEN for Hillary. Case closed.
Me thinks she might be trying to re-coop her money between now and June 3

U know campaign for online funding and spend less. Bingo $20 million dollars in the coffers, she tells everyone how patriotic she is, how much of a loyal democrat she is and how Obama is a wonderful guy and drops out.

She may be ambitious, conniving but certainly not so stupid not to understand the maths or notice the wave of super delegates moving in opposite direction.
PoliticsRe: Should Obama Pick Hillary Clinton As His Running Mate? by McKren(m): 8:19pm On May 09, 2008
BigB 1

I will be shocked to see Obama pick Hillary.

Obama has told democrats early in this race that if they want to win they should not be afraid of loosing - I don't think Obama is afraid to stand on anything he believe's in no matter the consequence , check it out,
From his stance on Iraq war 2002, to his stance on Pakistan, to his stance on talking to leaders America don't like, to Rev Wright to Gas tax holiday.

Acting out of conviction for what he believe's in has been the hallmark of his campaign, you can not tell Americans that you are running to change Washington and somehow your number 2 who happens to be someone who should fill in on your behalf in your absence is the same person you have painted a symbol of the old washington politics you are trying to change.

The message will simply not add up.

Finally a Hillary VP will mean Obama will spend more time containing Hillary and Bill Clinton trying to oust him than solving any problems he has promised.

OBAMA IS NOT THAT NAIVE. HE IS BETTER FAILING WHILE DOING WHAT HE BELIEVE'S IN THAN BEING AFRAID OF FAILURE AND YET FAIL AND WORST OF ALL NOT DO WHAT HE BELEIEVE'S IN.

Obama - Hillary ticket is a nightmare ticket
PoliticsRe: Should Obama Pick Hillary Clinton As His Running Mate? by McKren(m): 4:11pm On May 09, 2008
Obama will pick Governor Kathleen Sibelius 3 times before picking Hillary

What skill will Hillary bring to the table other than name recognition.

Obama is accused of not having experience in running any city or organisation or business,  Hillary does not either, in fact the only organisation they have both run which is their various campaigns Obama has done better

Obama is accused of not having National Security experience, Hillary does not either,  She has not served in the Military ,  except for the immaginary dodging of snipper fire in Bosnia

Talk about experience politically, she is not anymore experienced than Obama, except may be for the shamelessness to be the first to address the state of the black union and yet be the first to appear on Fox news and try to play the race card against Obama.

So what does she have to offerhuhhuh
PoliticsRe: Is It Over For Hillary Clinton? by McKren(m): 10:19pm On May 08, 2008
Hillary Clinton has every right to stay in the race till June.

The Democrats as a whole are guilty of designing a process to last up till June 3 and somehow hope that it will end by February 5

Let the process run its course except there is a nominee with the magic number
PoliticsRe: Should Obama Pick Hillary Clinton As His Running Mate? by McKren(m): 9:15pm On May 08, 2008
I dont see Obama choosing Hillary as VP
PoliticsRe: Is Barack Obama Black Enough To Deal With Black Issues? by McKren(m): 4:04pm On May 01, 2008
BigB1

One issue I think he needs to deal with is reparation for slavery. If he can't pass a law that will require the US. to pay Blacks
That was what I meant by slavery benefits

There is nothing wrong supporting a nursing or pregnant mother. But the idea that a law should be passed so that blacks in America will be payed some money because they are black or because their forefathers were slaves is what am concerned about.

The regression continues!!!

I watched with dismay yesterday on AIT how El-Rufai was quized for ours for doing the right thing. He was totally held to a different standard compared to the 2 previous FCT Ministers quized before him.

His sin, attempting to make a difference. That is also Soludo's sin.

Meanwhile what has our wonderful current Shamsudden Usman done since coming to powerhuh??

Your guess is as good as mine.
PoliticsRe: Is Barack Obama Black Enough To Deal With Black Issues? by McKren(m): 2:57pm On May 01, 2008
I think he has largely explained his opinnion on black issues in his race speech.

No more room for affirmative action, there will be equal resources available to all races so too will there be equal opportunities and open competition amongst kids of all races, at least that is Obama's vission of America.

If you are hoping for a Black President who will pay slavery benefits, I think you might have to wait for another 1million years.

The idea to me will even be condescending to blacks
PoliticsRe: El-rufai Cleared Trees, Grasses With N2.16bn by McKren(m): 11:01pm On Apr 30, 2008
Did anybody see El-Rufai defending himself at the Senate tribunal session.

I think I have more reasons to love El-Rufai more

It is so amazing how Nigerian Senators were holding El-Rufai to a totally different higher standard which he passed. But my question is whether these Senators, Governors (past and present) and members of the current Presidency will pass the standard they set for el-rufai even by 30%.

Meanwhile does anyone know what is happening with the FOI Bill. Why has it not been passed.
