I have no idea what Hillary stands for or what qualifies her
for presidency
She boast of 35 years of experience which includes 8years of experience as US First Lady and Akansas First Lady for 12years. Thats total of 20years Experience as First Lady, I dont know how that qualifies her to be Commander in Chief.

Whether that should even qualify as political experience is debatable because she was not appointed First Lady nor was she elected to the office of First Lady. She only became First Lady by default owing to a decision Bill and Hill made in the 70s.

It is no wonder that her campaign which has been the largest organisation she has ever run has not benefited from her 35years of experience. It does not reflect in her spending, style or staff loyalty.

This whole experience talk for me is a mirage.

Sani Lulu and Co should go as well

It does not matter whether we dont qualify for next world cup, this issue for me is more fundamental than that.

Ex-Footballers and Coaches should take over Nigerian Football in terms of both administration and coaching.

I obviously agree with you which is why I said you echo Obama's policies. That reply was never meant for you

It was meant for those who still think Gorge W. Bush is worth anything even now. If he was such a great President he wont be in Africa begging for legacies.

Even an incarnate of me in the next generation will rather dance behind Duke than behind IBB

Hence you have no credibility whatsoever to lecture me on that one.

If you read all of this thread you will know that am in no way shallow of Obama's policies. Its been a while I started researching the man even before he declared.

However to think you will zero your mind on nothing and come here to expect me to repeat myself over Obama's policies is simply funny and also an excercize in futility, hence why I told you that.

Your opinnion simply adds nor removes nothing from who Barack Obama is. so why should I worryhuh

Nigerians sef. When you claim that the burden of proof lies with the person disputing an assertion,in this case those disputing Obamaniacs claims of change, you are effectively waving the white flag.

Why is that the best way you can establish such change is by referring us to a website we have already dismissed? Surely, your belief in the genuineness of Obama's change slogan would mean that you can articulate here on Nairaland why you hold such beliefs without referring us to Axelrod,Ploufe and Obama.com.

The simple question is,why do you as a mature and rational adult hold this belief in Obama's change message?
I have no reason for backing Obama.

Ever seen a virgin girl fall in love with a thughuh?? Thats how I feel right now. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

@topic,

Can someone please highlight the various changes that Obama plans to make without refering us to some websites. We all know and can list what Bush stands for on issues such as abortion, immigration, iraq, the war on terror, preemptive strikes, social security, health care etc. Can someone please tell us what changes Obama will bring to bear on these important issues.
David Axelrod or David Plouffe are not Nigerians let alone being members of nairaland.

You have as much responsibility to show us that Obama's claim to Change is a hoax as we have to prove that it is real. Why not start by telling us how similar his policies are to Gorge W. Bush.

It is also interesting that you are more interested with a defence of Obama without any reference to any website. God knows how you plan to ascertain what the person says.

Gooood! We all know his version and I say I need a plan. Okay! Are you asking me to give him a blank check to do whatever he wants to do in the "White House" because his hands may be tied when he gets there?

I am impressed with his history do not get me wrong. I just don't like the politics he wants to play like the others. Beating about the bush politics.

I need a plan I say. If it does not work we can "flip flop" as usual and revise it! Nothing wrong with that! kiss
Well for his detailed plan visit www.barackobama.com

Its fair to say that people don't read their anticipated budget on the campaign trail

What is lacking is not failure of ideas but failure of leadership, Even President Yaradua had a 7 point plan, where is it. He has spent more time seeking freedom for those who sponsored his campaign.
PoliticsRe: The Dukes Are Being Investigated Once Again: There Must Be Bones In Their Closet by McKren(m): 4:17pm On Feb 20, 2008
Nobody is blackmailing anybody.
This is not Chemistry exam, it is what it is; Mr. Duke represented People's Governor. He knows it and his folks know it too
That simply sums up my argument. Because its illogical that a man reknowned for protesting the rightful arrest and trial of Ibori, Alams, Dariye etc is celebrating the investigation of Donald Duke.

And who is supposed to be the sacrificial lamb in all these?

Yes, we can be attacked like anywhere else in the world, but I think it is time to take a break from it all and take care of he American people first. Fighting terrorism is not the job of one country. If our "Rhinstone Cowboy" did not go about it the way he did, things would have been much better. It is time to bring the rest of the world on board. Don't you think? So the American people do not have to bear it all. Isolationists policies never worked in country's favor.

As for China--a threat to America. I wonder why. If only we learn to mind "the people's" business instead of the world, we will not have the Chinese secretly sniffing in all backyards of the US!
you are simply echoing Obama's policies Almondjoy

Talking about what Obama stands for will simply amount to writting a text book.

But lets limit the argument to the Subject of CHANGE as it has to do with HEALTH INSURANCE in America.

Most politicians are talking about change for the sake of wining elections. But you will know when someone is honest about their CHANGE gospel if you look at trends and decisions they have taken.

Some wish to even change things but end up being unable to do that because they have been compromised, their hands are tied.

Talking about change, Hillary Clinton just talks about change but will never be able to change anything because she has been compromised. She built her campaign around large donnors most of whom are Government lobbyists sponsored by phamarcetical companies and the like. Well need I remind you that this group of people will reap where they have sown.

Her so called Healthcare plans which she claims will cover all Americans is simply hinged on bullying people to purchase Health Insurance at whatever cost. Tell me how its better to bully poor people to aquire expensive insurance or they  pay a fine is better compared to making Health Insurance affordable and allowing this people the choice to go for them because its cheap.
Their is only one set of people who will benefit from Hillary's plan, the same Health Insurance companies who are large donnors to her campaign. Thats simply status quo.

But the Obama camp are able to come up with a fairer idea for all (Americans and drug companies included) because his campaign has been funded by ordinary Americans. So the change in this case as in many other cases is that Obama has simply chosen a path which does not leave him indebted to the drug companies and thus will be more trusted to takes this guys on from an advantaged point.

That is what Obama's version of change is about.
PoliticsRe: Mr. Henry Okah, Mend Leader: Killed Or Rumoured? by McKren(m): 2:46pm On Feb 20, 2008
This is what you get when a country has no Leader.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7254440.stm

Delta rebels want 'proof of life'

The leaders of the militants keep their identities hidden
Militants in the oil rich Niger Delta have demanded the government prove one of their leaders is alive.
Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua denied claims Henry Okah died in police custody on Tuesday.

Lawyers, family members and doctors should be allowed to see him, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (Mend) said.

Mr Okah was extradited from Angola last week on gun-running charges, but he has not appeared in court yet.

Mend had sent an e-mail to reporters saying he was shot "accidentally" during interrogation.

But the president's spokesman said Mr Okah was "in safe custody"

After the government denied the report, Mend sent a follow up email to journalists.

"The government must go a step further, (give) access to his legal representatives, family, pastor and the International Red Cross or similar body for an independent verification that he is alive and has never been tortured," the email said.

Presidential spokesman Segun Adeniyi refused to comment on the new demand.

Mr Okah is a founder member of Mend, which carried out attacks in the Delta two years ago that cut Nigerian oil production by a quarter.

Since then the group has factionalised and some leaders have halted attacks after striking deals with the government, although Mr Okah's faction has remained active

Big B1:
No doubt, Innocent until proven guilty. But I do not think one has to have PHD to figure out the fact here.

I knew from day one that there was more to those charming smiles. I wonder what happened to all those dumdum supporters that were dancing behind this guy during those incredible days?

Another failed process by EFCC and exhibition of incompetency. They (Ribadu and his thugs) gave this guy a clean record and green light. According to the record (EFCC record) there shouldn't be any investigation regarding corruption going on.

I will simmer down for now and see what comes out of this latest investigation.
I think the earlier you simmer down the better for you

If ICPC recieves a petition from anyone against anyone, they have a duty to investigate. That is there job.
So lets see whether he will be sent to court and convicted.

This idea of blackmailing everyone else to look as corrupt as IBB is too wicked. So that the average Nigerian is left in an island of despair.

Just chill man.

It's highly unlikely that Hillary can win enough delegates from the remaining state contests to capture the nomination at the party convention in August. To do so,she would have to win Ohio, Texas and virtually All other remaining primaries by roughly 2-to-1 margins over Barack Obama. "We see no evidence that that's going to happen". She will probably win Texas and New Mexico but not the others.

@EmekaNaija:
You have a point, but when it comes to winning election, your focus is not on compatibility, your focus should be on winning more votes.
Therefore, selecting a running mate that will attract more votes should be your main priority; you have more time later on to worry about compatibility issues.

Just keep in mind that once you become the number 1 man; folks will find a way to be compatible with you (they will discover strategies to clearly understand your broken English), Trust me!
The problem with you is that you think politics everywhere else operates like the kind you prefer; 0% conviction and 100% calculation.

Algore was VP for 8years (1993 - 2001), ran a credible campaign for President that he would have won in the general election if not for irregularities in 2000. On what basis does he begin to run as VP to Obama in 2008huh?

Algore is much more interested in positioning himself so as to get his climate change plans given significance, no more no less.
How does a man who for this singular reason has chosen to remain an undecided superdelegate up to this point begin to jostle for VP out of the blues.

I guess you can as well suggest that Gorge W. Bush's father should become McCain's VP so that John McCain will be acceptable to the conservatives.

rather than blowing hot air, atleast this forum offers you the opportunity of free speech to air your view on this issue, perhaps we can learn from your extensive knowledge of American presidency or history.

By the way callin fellow N/landers "Idiot" may look like an insult to you all because they don't share you point of view and everybody must share your view.

Maybe you can update yourself by reading what Bolaji Akinyemi and Oyebade said in the Gaurdian of Wednesday 13 Feb, with regards to the WASP criterion as a condition of American presidency, atleast the opinions of the two gentlemen who are professor emeritus of political science and International law respectively could serve as a guidiance for us. just two days ago a British nobel laurete made a statement about possible assasination of Obama should the man go ahead and win in the US presidential election, maybe she is cracy too, or is she an idiot as you would say? Maybe you re unaware that historical antecedent has a way of shapin socio-economic and political phenomenons.

Well, since you re timid enough not to present a contrary and logical arguement other than a sweeping condemnation of my post, I think I better not dissipate valauble time joining issue with you,
First I honestly don't think Nigeria Guardian newspaper is the best place to learn about the nitty gritty of American politics just as it is very wrong to rely on a local american newspaper for the nitty gritty of what obtains in Nigerian politics.

2. Historians and those who break history hardly ever conform to the same ideas, Obama's activities will be for historians of tomorrow to learn while historians of today will be the last to embrace Obama because he defies all they have ever learnt.

Lets not change the topic

You can not accuse Ribadu of being in Yar'adua's propaganda machine when EFCC did not in any way attempt to bring down the number 1 opposition leader (Buhari).

And by the way, stop acting so Nigerian. This is exactly why people refuse to admit their mistakes in our country because if you do people try to molest you.
PoliticsRe: Pdp Chairmanship Race: Anyim Or Egwu Or Who? by McKren(m): 10:58pm On Feb 12, 2008
Life is a learning process, we supported what we thought was right for Nigeria then and their is nothing wrong about that

But its necessary to learn from past mistakes, admit them and correct them. Meanwhile Ribadu was never in Yar'adua's proganda machine because for whatever benefits you thought Yar'adua enjoyed from EFCC, Buhari also did.
PoliticsRe: Pdp Chairmanship Race: Anyim Or Egwu Or Who? by McKren(m): 9:27pm On Feb 12, 2008
What matters for me is not who emerges and who has cases against EFCC or who has'nt

For me it is how the next PDP leader emerges that matters

This is how we blackmailed everyone else in the last election and did everything for Yar'adua to emerge because we heard he was honest. But now as President we have seen the height of dishonesty and a President who is not bold enough to take a stand on anything whether right or wrong.

Exactly!!!!

Its not so difficult to figure out the very essence of this thread:
at best it is an extension of the war between G-8* (eighty whatever) and G-2* (twenty whatever) for the soul of PDP.

at worst this thread is born out of the misguided idea that every uprising politician in our country must only talk to certain people in Mina.

The problems facing our country is of no consequence, just as long as you are affiliated to certain politicians u are successful.

May be, Mr.Bankole should also go ahead and visit the rest e.g Alao Akala, Ibori, Alams, Chimaroke, Fayose, Tinubu, Gbenga Obasanjo and OBJ himself, and many more.

It looks like John Edwards has settled for Attorney general.

A pairing of both of them and a stump speech from Obama is the quickest way to unite the party.
