It does not get more emotional than that. If it was in Nigeria people will be going on pilgrimage to Adedibu and his thugs where they will be wielding cutlasses and guns to show off their strength.

This is why it is interesting to follow American politics.

Vogts was not our problem - Amun

Posted: 2008-02-08 16:03

Former acting Secretary-General of the NFA, Fanny Amun has insisted that Berti Vogts is not the problem with Nigerian football.
Amun told KickOffNigeria.com that he had watched in bemusement as Nigerians have torn Vogts apart especially since the ousting of the Super Eagles from the African Cup of Nations.

“The first question we must ask is if Berti Vogts forced himself on the Super Eagles, did he? Some people employed him and gave him a contract so I think those people have a case to answer to Nigerians before we begin to talk about sacking the coach,” Amun told KickOffNigeria.com.

Why must we sack Vogts when the people who appointed him are still walking free on the streets?

Fanny Amun

“A man like Amos Adamu must tell Nigerians what happened at the Hilton Metropol in London when we were meant to interview coaches but some people went to Germany, returned with Berti Vogts and what should have been an interview became more like an introduction to the new coach because it turned into a handshake session.

“Why must we sack Vogts when the people who appointed him are still walking free on the streets? I hate people saying Berti should be sacked when Amos Adamu has not been sacked.

“I am not against Adamu but the truth must be told. When they sent us to London to interview the man, did we? Adamu should also mention the names of the people that went to Germany. What I am saying is that the appointment of Berti Vogts must be investigated because it was all fraudulent,” Amun said.

“The procedure of his appointment is faulty so they should stop saying we should sack him. Let us first investigate Amos Adamu and those involved in the contract of Berti Vogts before we begin to talk about sacking Berti Vogts or not.

Debosky

Your such a brilliant guy but I implore you to take time before attempting to defend Yaradua, this move is simply an attempt by his handlers to grab headlines and restore public image through the back door after the lies and spins of this administration has been revealed.

I understand even OBJ who is being touted as very corrupt did not spend his security vote for 3years, hence Yar'adua not spending his in the last 8months does not by any means exonerate him from corruption.

Not exactly when he is through his AGF bribing and intimidating Justice Ogebe in other to tilt the electoral verdict in his favour.

Nigeria is in for the biggest sleaze in history.

Steal?
Written by againstbabangida.com
By againstbabangida.com

No personal fortune has been as widely speculated in Nigeria as Ibrahim Babangida's. Hardly does anyone know the extent of his fortunes; but no one doubts it is very, very much. Babangida is so rich, he has pretty much been buying up political loyalty from millions of Nigerians home and abroad.

Babangida has been stealing money since the civil war, and is always very discreet about where he kept the loot. It has beeen almost impossible for anyone to come up with a total of Babangida's money; no wonder, he has never come up on the Forbes rich list. However, as of 1999, Babangida had $24.67 billion in Western banks alone. According to the Financial Times, in a confidential report submitted to President Olusegun Obasanjo by the Wold Bank, the breakdown of the money traced is as follows:
London: £6.25 billion
Switzerland: $7.41 billion
USA: $2.00 billion
Germany: Dm 9.00 billion

Read the Loot Table at: How Much They Stole

Analysts believe the bulk of Babangida's money is safely stashed away in foreign accounts in Europe and the Middle East, where no hands can touch them in case he is called upon unexpectedly to give an account of his stewardship. Much of his wealth is held in proxy, and his investments definitely extend beyond Europe. Conservatively, we estimate his holdings to be well above $35 billion worldwide.

During the Gulf War in the early nineties, Babangida is reported to have stolen billions of dollars from the treasury. He was also reported to have removed vast sums physically from the Central Bank in the early 1990s, while resorting to outright printing of bank notes to make up for his theft.

General Babangida used the German construction company Julius Berger to siphon a lot of money to Europe; which is why most of his money is in Germany. Julius Berger did all kinds of businesses with him, including purchasing luxury cars for an international conference, in addition to rushing the completion of the convention center for billions of naira. Noteworthy is the “State House” project, through which the dictator diverted funds to his 50-room country mansion built at over N2 billion.

Some accounts have linked IBB to drug trafficking, dating back to his days as a mid-level officer in the 1970s. He was said to have suddenly intervened to remove his predecessor, Mohammadu Buhari, as Head of State, as a drug investigation focused on him. The Buhari-Idiagbon regime vigorously waged war on drug traffickers.

As an evidence, analysts point to the disapperance of drug trafficker, Gloria Okon, which led to the death of ace journalist, Dele Giwa. Okon was said to have died in detention, but reports later indicated she was quietly released by Babangida to be given a new anonymous life elsewhere. Dele Giwa was working on this story when he was bombed through a parcel in a case that not been resolved because of the heavy involvement of Babangida and his top military confidants. Babangida has continuously fought the prosecution of the Giwa murder
.

Rich as Babangida is, he has few investments in Nigeria's economy. Where many other retired generals spend their stolen wealth to buy up shares in oil companies, banks, and Broad Street companies, traces of IBB's money are virtually non-existent in the larger economy. He prefers to keep his loot abroad, and use the proceeds to dictate the political future of Nigeria.
This is embarrassing and denting our Image and those of our grandchildren, and this man is still in the Federal Executive Council deciding the future of Nigeria.

Any credible attempt at image restoration starts from sorting this guy out.

good point

but when people raise trivial issues like this you can only establish their intentions by taking a look at what they historically stand for

this is simply an attempt to divert attention, since they succeeded in ousting Ribadu they realized that war against corruption shifted constituency to the Nigerian people. What could be more strategic than using that which divides them to cause confusion.

The Nigerian leaders are fueling 419 not any tribal values period

Enough of this tribal supremacy war
We are all Nigerians!
It is a Nigerian problem.
What are you doing to stop these morons?

I think thats what we should be discussing here
The bit in bold is the one million dollar question

Now whatever he thinks he is doing to stop anybody becomes untenable when those who looted our commonwealth and banked in Switz banks are his role models.

Tell me which destroys Nigeria's business and embarrasses the country morehuh? A BBC reports which chronicles how Nigerian Generals stash away millions of dollars in the west (money which in turn is used by banks to fund low intrest loans for their local SMEs) or e-mails written by Hustlershuh.

Every society have hustlers, but hustling becomes more rampant in the face of unemployment and failing economy. It becomes obvious that the activities of past Nigerian generals might have fueled the hustling we see today.

Nigeria's image have long been destroyed even before the birth of Internet itself. So coming here to isolate the rising hopelessness and fraudulent nature of Nigerian youths from the failures of our leaders is simply being economical with the truth.

Someone sent this text to me as soon as he heard that Vogts has been sacked and ill share with u guys

" Voller lost 1-5 to england, he wasnt sacked, he eventually got to the world cup final;
Aime jacquet was last in Tournoi de France, he wasnt sacked and later won the world cup 5 months later, et al. (thts the text).

failure isnt about not winning at the first attempt, failure is throwing spanners in the little achievements you have that you think is not enough. . .

failure is Nigeria sacking Vogts and not giving him time to build a team

Failure is the NFA administering soccer in NGR because no coach will succeed under those devils

Failure is around the corner because Eguavoen and the rest will lead us not to qualify for world cup. No world class coach will come to NGR in a while.

This rot didnt just begin, the rot started when Angola qualified for the mundial ahead of us. It would have taken a little time for Vogts to have instilled a winning mentality in the Eagles. the Ivoriens as talented as they are, have only won the nations cup once, theyve been perennial underachievers. who says they are going to win this tourney?

We need to start seeing things in the true colors so as to move forward. Westerhof didnt qualiffy for world cup in 1990, he was battered in the opening game of the algiers 90, yet, he got to the finals and lost, he lost again at senegal 92, but we'll knew how he graduated the winning mentality into the 94 set that shown brilliantly at the 94 tourneys.

Rome can never be built in a day, we need to learn how to build and plan for the future.

Like i said above, failure is sacking Vogts because we wont go to the next world cup sad sad
Technical incompetence and lack of ability to select rightly should never be tolerated in any coach.

Berti Vogts can not be paid millions to learn on the job and reside in Germany while working in Nigeria. Look at your own text, Rudd Voller and Aime Jackuet were indigineous coaches hired to rebuild there National teams.

They were not international coaches paid millions to learn on the job.

So the fact that I lived over 90% of my existence so far in Nigeria makes for no mind at all?? I love the way you continue to think you have NIgeria all figured out with your myopic view of life and your circumstances there. Sorry to disappoint but not all Nigerians share that miserable view of self and your tribe you have going on there for you. The very fact that you concern yourself with what others think of your tribe and what not already speaks volumes. I happen to belong to a tribe in Nigeria myself and I could not give a rats ass what another thinks of it, as I am more concerned about doing the best I can and letting He who is most powerful judge. Sorry that I find your scope funny from my end but what do you expect?? That we all view life through the same goggles as you do?? jeeezzzz LMAO!!!!

Ever stopped to wonder why those who shout against tribalism are the very ones who whine and complain over and over about how other tribes do not see them they way they would prefer and try to push to force others to do so?? Can't you see what is eating you there ?? You are tribalistic, the other side is the same way too. Why not live and let livehuh If not, continue with the tribal bickering and let those of those who are above such continue to laugh as we choose abeg!!!LMAO!!!

When those who vigorously advocated the removal of Ribadu because they say "too many are too corrupt for too long" begin to raise threads like this, its not too dificult to figure out how seriously you should take them.

It only reminds you of a certain Governor who looted his State treasury black and blue without involving third parties but goes ahead to champion a law which makes it possible to cut off the hands of peasants when they steal goats and yams to feed for the moment.

We the Igbos have grown up and gotten used to the ideology that we are responsible for all of Nigeria's problems, but the only unfortunate thing is that this ideology have simply not solved any of Nigeria's problems.

BigB1 99.99999%  of Nigeria's problems are caused by the Igbos, I hope you sleep better tonight.

NFA board should be dissolved, Ex-Footballers and Ex-Coaches should be managing the game. We must not play politics with everything.

SportsRe: John Mikel Obi (his Fans & Critics) by McKren(m): 5:35pm On Jan 31, 2008
Finding a replacement for a player because he is ageing does not amount to confining him to the bench. Benching a player is rendering him irrelevant even when he is at the top of his game.

Mikel has not played as much as Claude Makelele did when he was at his pic. Besides that, Mikel's strength is not in defensive midfield. He was better of an offensive player while coming up especially when it comes to defense spliting passes.

A player who commits an average of 3 fouls in 5 ball challenges, is still learning. A player who keep picking up red cards because he is saddled with the role of shielding the back four is still learning.

The world is yet to see the best of Mikel, I believe in his potentials. But its simply out of place to suggest Mikel confined Claude Makelele to bench. Mekelele simply became old and needed replacement.
SportsRe: Mikel, Essien; Who Will Outclass The Other On Sunday? by McKren(m): 5:21pm On Jan 31, 2008
Did Mikel bench Makelele or was Mekelele just getting old huhhuh

Not too sure about Essien outclassing Mikel. Though Essien is a very good Midfielder, but all he does is work hard and play simple balls from point A to point B. But talk of who will produce a more visionary pass if they have the ball against the back-line of the opposing team. I will prefer Mikel from that view point.

But we can only wait till sunday to know who has the better midfield.
