When was this so called rules set, will it be after the Nevada Caucuseshuh?

Except someone is plotting to go to court once again to change the rules.

Rules are rules, they have been made before the start of elections and they will not change.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by McKren(m): 12:34am On Jan 22, 2008
Well Obama will not accept that advise from you because his campaign is based on the politics of hope and rejecting the politics of fear. He believes he can not win if he is afraid of loosing it.

But most importantly, if he starts thinking of being VP, he may not even get it because it is not entirely up to him to decide who becomes VP.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by McKren(m): 12:17am On Jan 22, 2008
Just have 2 points to make

1. Nobody runs for Vice President [s]though looks like John Edwards is positioning himself as Obama's vice[/s], but legally nobody does

2. Nobody is experienced to be President except they had been President before.

Clinton won the popular votes in Nevada by 6%. As for the delegates, you will have to wait till something on April before they are allocated going by the rules of Nevada democratic party. What is being reported in the papers are projected delegate counts for Nevada and as usual none of the MSM bothered to check the rules governing delegate allocation.

His campaign managers are the one misleading him making a concession takes nothing away from a candidate!!!
Nobody has established that the projection is inconsistent with the laid down rules. The Nevada Democratic Party will not allocate delegate numbers by choice, they will be guided by set rules which implication can only be an extension of the caucuses held on Saturday.

It does not matter whether Nevada Democratic Party wish to make a formal announcement on delegates in April or November. The Obama campaign are very much in the know what these rules are and they have announced it to reassure their supporters that their race is still on track while those who present the argument that it was not a formal announcement from the Democratic party are just trying to undermine the Obama camp.

At the end of the day, this whole confusion is part of a wider battle for voter psychology and momentum.

@Dayokanu

Mudslinging is not the exclusive preserve of the Clinton campaign. Obama won't be where he is today if he didn't mount a successful campaign about the sexual impropriety of his Democratic challenger when they were running for the Senatorial primaries.

Have you seen the amount of mud thrown at Clinton? Imagine,Bill said that Obama's fictional stories about his Iraq stance were the biggest fairytale he had ever heard and they accused Bill of racism.Have you seen media attacks on Clinton's femininity.I have seen more anti-Clinton bile over the past 12 months than anti-Obama.

PS:The best thing Obama said in this campaign was that the Republican party was the party of ideas grin grin A rare candid admission of an obvious fact from the Democrats.
At this point I think the Obama camp should propose a debate between Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton because it is becoming clearer who will run the white house if Hilary becomes President.
Americans will simply be seeing a President Bill Clinton proxy third term. - The Obama camp should formalize it and offer Bill Clinton the chance to tell the American people his plans for them

Clinton takes Nevada. Its on to South Carolina.

Where is McKren who claimed that Obama will definitely take Nevada because of Union endorsements?

Never underestimate the Clinton political machine.
Clinton may have won popular vote in Nevada

But Obama won the election in practice.
Because he won more constituencies across Nevada, he got 13 delegates against Clinton's 12. At this stage the election is about how many delegates you win. Cos thats what will determine who will win in November.

Besides that at the rate this election is going neck and neck, Febuary 5 may not produce a winner and a lot might depend on who John Edwards decides to back in November.

So Obama is not doing badly. It will only be foolhardy to underestimate Clinton either, with the support of Democratic Establishment and a husband who was President, I think Obama is doing well putting up a credible fight against Clinton.

If Obama was the son of an ex-President and had the democratic establishment backing him, and then Hilary was a nobody coming from no where, she will not stand Obama.
Reason: She got no talents and their is nothing special about her other than being wife of former President.

Ibrahim Larmorde has being Ribadu's lieutenant and basically described as Ribadu's iron fist. The fact that he even emerged as acting boss is due to protests by Nigerians over Ribadu's Study leave.

However, men are men, as much as we all have ideals we believe in events show that men are capable of changing loyalties in difficult situations. Time will tell where Ibrahim Larmode's loyalty lies whether to Nigeria and dreams for a better future or whether to the cabals who don't want success.

People think Kerry backing Obama is a slap on John Edwards

But some comments by John Edwards show that their might have been a pact between Obama/Edwards. John Edwards did not react to Kerry's action like he was suprised either.

Will we see a situation where one (between Obama / Edwards) encourages his supporters to back the other in the later part of the racehuh?? Too many intrigues in this race

Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by McKren(m): 12:04am On Jan 11, 2008
I think polls have no place in this current race.

The polls even if they are anything to go by is not reflective of Obama's campaign strategy. His target are mainly the independents since the democratic establishment backed clinton so early in the race. And trends show these independents seem to make up their minds 48hrs to election or less. So if Obama is able to maintain this momentum, with the backing of Major Unions in Nevada he has a good chance of wining Nevada and South Carolina with the endorsement of John Kerry and his Army of followers.

The recurring effect of the above is capable of defying any polls.

Besides that the Clintons on their part are not sleeping. So it is safe to say the race is just open and no polls should be taken seriously anymore because this years political process looks erratic.

2004 Dem Nominee Kerry Endorsing Obama
By GLEN JOHNSON – 55 minutes ago

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Barack Obama is being endorsed by fellow Sen. John Kerry, the Democrats' 2004 presidential nominee who lost to George W. Bush that year and gave up his own plans for a 2008 run a year ago.

Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, planned to announce his support Thursday at 11 a.m. EST at a rally at the College of Charleston, said a Democrat familiar with Kerry's decision. The 2004 nominee was to argue that Obama can best unite the country and has the potential to create transformational change, the person said.

Kerry lost the South Carolina Democratic primary in 2004 to John Edwards, the former North Carolina senator who now is running third in the 2008 campaign behind Hillary Rodham Clinton and Obama.

Besides any potential help for Obama, Thursday's endorsement was a slap at Edwards, who was Kerry's running mate in the last election. The two had their differences during the campaign over strategy and spending. In post-mortem interviews, Edwards said he would have been more aggressive in challenging the unsubstantiated allegations of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the Vietnam War veterans who questioned Kerry's military record.

Kerry's endorsement also was a jab at Clinton, the New York Democrat who won the New Hampshire primary after a loss to Obama in the Iowa caucuses.

Kerry had withheld his endorsement, hoping to have an impact on the race and avoid the fate of fellow Democrat Al Gore, the 2000 nominee who endorsed Howard Dean in 2004 shortly before the former Vermont governor's campaign imploded. Gore has made no endorsement so far this year.

While Kerry has been close to Clinton's husband, the former president, he was incensed in 2006 when she chided him after Kerry suggested that people who don't go to school "get stuck in Iraq." Aides said Kerry meant to jab at Bush and say "get us stuck in Iraq," and that he didn't appreciate Clinton piling onto the criticism he was already getting for the remark.

Kerry himself had considered running for president in 2008, but that plan fizzled with the botched remark. For many Democrats, his words revived bitter memories of his missteps in 2004, when he lost to Bush.

As for Obama, Kerry gave the young Illinois state senator his first turn in the national spotlight when he chose him to deliver the keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Later that year, Obama won election as a U.S. senator.

Since announcing a year ago he would not make the run, Kerry has prodded Democrats to take a stronger anti-war stance, pushing for troop withdrawal deadlines. In another area, he has backed environmental causes, writing a book with his wife on the issue.

Kerry should be able to provide some organizational muscle to Obama.

Since losing the 2004 race, Kerry has kept a national network of supporters intact. He has an e-mail network of 3 million supporters, according to aides. He also has traveled extensively raising millions of dollars for Democratic candidates nationwide.

I'm not surprised at the turn of event. I know for certain that nothing, and NOTHING will be spared to make sure that Ribadu is brought down to ground zero.

The Iboris, Nwude's, Anajemba's, Odilis, Dariyes, Nnamanis, Atikus, Tafas, Kalus, Turakis, IOBs, Nyames, Ajiduas, and now adding the Igbinedions certainly is a formidable enemy. In all honesty if the resources of all these crooks are harnessed together against one common enemy they can even over throw any government of their choice in Africa.

The script of the campaign of calumny have just begun, but in the end it will come to nothing. Ribadu as of today is enjoying one resource these retards can't enjoy - The Nigerian people.

The comments of Big B1 and his co-travellers can't change a thing no matter how hard they try. The game is just about to begin
I agree with most of your comments but disagree with just one thing

Top officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), including its Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, are more corrupt than those the commission is prosecuting for graft.

Emmanuel Nwude, one of those the EFCC successfully prosecuted, stated this on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Lagos.

Nwude, who was convicted after a plea bargaining in a celebrated Advance Fee Fraud (419) case handled by the Commission, asked Nigerians not to trust the agency because it is being run by corrupt people.

He based his allegations on the way the agency handled his case.

Nwude accused top echelons of the agency of pillaging his property while he was in prison and sold others to themselves in the name of raising money to meet the condition of the plea bargain.

"These people are highly corrupt. They are more than corrupt; because you say you are fighting corruption; you say I stole money, but the money you said you have recovered, you are using it to take care of yourself. All of them are billionaires. They have houses abroad and in choice areas of big cities and are riding exotic cars," he said.

For instance, he said most of the cars seized from him are currently in the possession of EFCC officials, including a bullet-proof jeep, while generators, household items and cash, were severally stolen and shared among the officials.

These items include $1.5 million, jewellery worth millions of naira belonging to his wife, generators, etc confiscated from his houses that were forcefully broken into by the EFCC officials, he said.

Nwude challenged the commission to name who it sold his 300 million shares in Union Bank, which made him the biggest shareholder of the bank.

But in its reaction, the commission asked Nwude to go to court and prove his case, instead of whipping up sentiments.

A source at the agency told Daily Independent on Tuesday that EFCC would not join issues with Nwude on the matter.

"If he feels cheated or otherwise, he has every right to go to court and seek redress," he said.

Simply did not want to respond to his post cos he is asking me to think for him huh

Why will any person who has evidence take the pains to institute a court case, the easy bit which is to present the evidence you have you dont do it. You now rather ask the court to compel another institution to initiate a probe when you already have evidence.

Ignore this guy called BigB1, he talks about respect for the constitution but he lacks that himself.

The demographics of Nigeria as provided in the constitution takes into cognizance ethnicity, geographical region, religion. The constitution also recognize political parties.

So until anybody is able to establsih a trend showing that a section of the society (as provided in the constitution) has been targeted, the talk about selectivity is out of place and should only be seen as defense mechanism by those who loot the country.

The constitution does not anywhere talk about friends or enemies of the President, neither does any government agency whatsoever hold records of who they consider friends or enemies of the President.

So it beggars belief how such a selectivity slogan routed on something that the constitution does not recognize should be placed as a priority over making any attempt at fighting corruption which the constitution frowns at.

We can not continue to have a situation where when you ask someone to give account of their stewardship, the next thing you see is card carrying members of the ruling party opposing the Government all in their bid to secure political immunity.

Being opposed to Government is not license to steal. Afterall the No.1 Technical opposition leader in Nigeria is yet to be arrested for corruption.

Big B1:
Now, does this make any sense?

Ribadu supporters should be ashame of themselves!
Reallyhuhhuh?

Someone went to court praying that the court should compel the IG to pobe Ribadu. In essence he simply wrote a petition to the IG through the back door. No evidence was produced, neither has a case been established against Ribadu. Unfortunately this suit will be thrown out because the Lawyer in question lacks locus standi.

Lets say hypothetically that a petition which is yet to be investigated was sent to the IG, how is that an indictment on Ribadu's personality when the case lacks evidence and has no iorta of truth in it.

Am not too sure who should be ashamed of themself

It is not clear anymore if this is borne out of blind hatred for Ribadu or inability to understand simple english.

Please what is the penalty for wasting the time of courthuhhuh

You think someone looted Nigeria's money to buy choice properties, you go to court without providing evidence to support your case. Rather you go their praying that the IGP should investigate a rumour.

If you want to petition the IGP why not do that? why waste the time of the courthuh?

If this people do not substantiate their case they should be fined some good money.

Hillary has experience in being First Lady and Senator. She has no experience whatsoever being President.

But McKren, most all the other candidates are running on the same exact ticket. They are all spouting practically the same in terms of "change" to what we currently have now. I do not believe we want to hear more of that but the how. How do you implement those changes??
Most of these other candidates started their campaign on other slogans, only to change because Obama's message of change is moving crowds. It simply means these other candidates are about 8-12 months late on leadership. The fact that they have changed grounds out of desperation even means they dont believe in anything.

So the question is why single out Obama to question the substance of his message which has been consistent over time.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by McKren(m): 1:00am On Jan 09, 2008
Refusing to accept money from lobbyist and raising his own campaign funds from the scratch on the grounds that he will run a white house that is people oriented and make the American people his priority on Health insurance policies that is change.

Giving tax brakes to local American companies than companies moving their factories abroad is change from an American point of view.

Having a foreign policy that aims at ruling the world with better economy and better diplomacy is a more viable and sustainable method than this current idea of throwing bombs arround the world in George Bush's America is change

However if you dont consider the above mission statements as change then you might like to contact Barack Obama to do you his first BUDGET.

leadership is not about knowing all the policies in the world, policies and ideas can be bought by assembling the best brains in the country.

leadership has more to do with having a good and large heart, and ability to affect people and carry them along. and that is priceless as it can not be bought.

charm also plays an important role in present day politics

Gordon Brown has been an architect of everything that happened in Britain in the last 10years under Blair. But when blair hands over to brown, the british people begin to feel their is lack of leadership even when brown has the economy in his palm.

Reason: Brown unlike Blair, lacks the x-factor.
