Foreign AffairsRe: Obama For President? by McKren(m): 12:26am On Jan 09, 2008
Most of those who change the world dont spend so much time learning the status quo, whether it is in politics, science, business etc.
Reason: when you spend so long a time learning the status quo you become so enmeshed in the status quo that you will have difficulties changing your attitude let alone changing the world arround you.

Big B1:
Do not blame McKren for anything, he's married to Ribadu's older sister! shocked

What do you expect?
This is exactly how he gets his anti-Ribadu news

Very soon he will set up a blog on how a wedding between Mckren and Ribadu's sister was held in Adamawa, they will say it repeatedly to make it look like the truth and some of our copy and paste journalist will pick it up. (it finally appears on Nigerian major newspaper).

The next thing the same originators will start quoting Leadership said "Mckren married to the Ribadu's" The Sun "Mckren defends inlaw Ribadu" Independent "Ribadu turns to his inlaw Mckren for defence".
PoliticsRe: Flamboyant Lifestyle Of Efcc Operatives For Probe! by McKren(m): 7:53pm On Jan 07, 2008
Mike Okiro should understudy the EFCC and learn how to keep your staff happy rather than being jealous.

Is it the fault of the EFCC chairman that he runs a force that enjoys the recognition and funding of international bodies and hence the ability of EFCC to pay its staff more than the NPFhuh?

Just a question for you BigB1:
You claim everyday to represent the interest of underdogs. In one of your recent debates you said "Ribadu Supporters are ordinary citizens". My question is who's interest do you represent and how much are u paid to destroy the truthhuhhuh??

Which brings us to the question as to why he was removed initially . . .

- I thought it was because he was protecting OBJ? NO?

- I though it was because his appointment was irregular? NO?

- I though it was because as a senior police officer he must attend the course? NO?

- Now, he owns a mansion in Dubai and Abuja?

- What will be the reason tomorrow?

Fools!
You did not include Emmanuel Nwude's petition in your list
And how Ribadu sold Obj's 200million shares (I did not know that he doubled as head of Nigerian Stock Exchange).

The Police High Command has a responsibility to investigate this to its logical end and charge Ribadu to court or come out openly to deny it. All this idea of using Newspaper to blackmail people and yet do nothing about it is unacceptable.

The office of the Inspector General of Police has been brought to its highest low since the inception of this country. We have a situation now where the Police high command is being used by people on the wrong side of the law to hound law enforcement agencies and its agents.
It does not get worse than that.

@McKren
you are beginning to act and sound very strange! Just like THEM!
I am beginning to suspect that you are snooping around for something i just can't place my hands on now.
if you must know i will NOT put anybody's name forward for your lurid and sinister digestion.

I am certain of what i know and will not join issues anymore on that aspect of the issue,

Rather i want you to answer this; why is Ribadu so obstinate in leaving a position he wasnt born into?
Even stating the person's name here amounts to nothing. It wont be taken seriously by any serious minded Nigerian. If you friend truly believe's Ribadu gave or took bribe from him he should petition the appropriate quaters. He should write a petition to Code of Conduct Bureau copy copy all Nigerian Newspapers or better still write the Justice Minister, you and I know Aondoakaa will like to have a field day with that one. If he is not confident enough to do that, then he has no credible allegation.

There is no point blackmailing people on the internet because you have access to the computer.

On Ribadu staying put: Ribadu was not seeking a third term. He has a statutory tenure of office which should be truncated only by the President when the President has a good case of inefficiency against him. And the IGP comes from no where and begin to tamper with his tenure and thereby going against the constitution they all swore to defend. That is wrong.

Even at that the only reaction from Ribadu or EFCC officials since this saga was in the affirmative. He has agreed to go to Kuru even when most Nigerians are opposed to such illegality and injustice. If you are assuming that the protest by concerned Nigerians to send Ribadu to Kuru translates to Ribadu not wanting to leave EFCC for life, I can only say to you that once again you are making a baseless accusation on the EFCC Boss.

You know whathuh?? This is democracy, you have freedom of speech. Besides that the internet has proven to be the most democratic medium of information dissemination such that you can say exactly how you feel while concealing your identity. I think if there is a source of quick money for you that Ribadu was blocking, go ahead an say it. Cheap blackmail will not do it.

Black Americans are simply being naive

if they wake up from their slumber, they will understand that they can only begin to claim to be as american as everyone else when america produces a mixed President and a black first lady.

If Obama had no respects for his black roots, he will not get married to a black woman neither will he retain the name Barack Hussein Obama.

However if they are hoping that Obama should start dropping black right mantra as the basis of his campaign. It wont happen as Obama knows the dangers of doing that.

Nairaland Hypocrite of The Year:

This is what he advocates:

IBB is a great leader and deserves a second chance, but Ribadu is not
fighting the anti-corruption war perfectly and so must be removed!

One stole the nation blind and killed many Nigerians. The other is simply
fighting to repatriate the nation's stolen wealth in an "imperfect" way.

What intelligence? Don't worry,we know who you are.
The height of his hypocrisy for me is: No need for the current fight against corruption, no need to arrest people, charge them to court and recover stolen asset. Reason being that too many are too corrupt for too long.
However when asked how he will prefer to tackle corruption he will suggest people are taken to their home town and shut dead.

Well I leave you to figure out reasons for such divergent views.

I can as well allegde right here that mellow whoever he is, is a murderer. What differentiates facts from rumours is whether I take my case to the courts to prove it or even come forward somehow to prove it. However if for fear of anything I refuse to do that, the most honourable thing is to remain silent. Anything short of that is plain stupidity.
And I think anybody who claims to be wise should not engage themselves in such stupidity.

You have given Ribadu bribe, you can't even establish what the bribe was for let alone coming forward. And you expect any serious minded person to take you seriously.

Ribadu is a great guy

Since the politics of EFCC and Ribadu, I have noticed all sorts of new (and potentially spurios) names in the politics section antagonising Ribadu. I have a feeling that some of these ID may have been raised by old contributors to the politics section for just this course.

The question is why is all that necessaryhuhhuhhuh
PoliticsRe: Ribadu's Removal Is Long Overdue? by McKren(m): 11:51pm On Jan 04, 2008
The fact that Ribadu has challenged the Nation times without numbered that anyone who has any issues of bribe against him to come forward and no one came forward makes bibiking's argument untenable.

You can not advise people not to rely on hearsay when u can not practice it yourself. Tell us why anybody should take u anymore seriously than a hearsay?
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Blackmails The FGN by McKren(m): 8:28pm On Jan 04, 2008
Iyke-D:
Could that be IBB's angles which also leads to "invisible progress"? grin

Fact is, some people in the diaspora were beginning to have some faith in Nigeria because of
the works of Ribadu and the EFCC whether selective or not. Nigeria will not progress an inch
until the invincible big Oga mentality is banished. Toy with that now, and you can bet yourself
the reverse will be the case. Those that dumped their foreign passports will regret ever doing
that.
Iyke-D,
No matter what happens do not get angry too much. Whether they bar Ribadu from Aso Rock or whatever
And most especially do not regret anything Ribadu did.

Even Ribadu foresaw all these, he knew Nigeria was at risk of facing such a future. Hence why he did most of what he did. Unfortunately Nigerians never looked beyond their noses and were so embroiled in anti-obj sentiments.

Whether being selective, political or releasing list of those who should not stand for election. Ribadu did most of what he did for the future of this country. He knew he needs an anti-corruption friendly President to win the battle. Hence the need to be pre-emptive.

But unfortunately Ribadu was EFCC Boss but not President. OBJ on the other hand had other thoughts. If El-Rufai was President we would not have been in all this mess.

However, I must say that I would not have wished Ribadu did his job any differently. I do not believe Ribadu has any regrets either.

My brother, it is no fluke that a black guy won a Presidential election nomination in a midwestern rural conservative town called Iowa.

I first saw Obama's 2004 democratic convention speech in 2005. I thought he was special.

Being a great leader is not just what you can do but what u can cause others to do. Obama has an effect on people.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Crushes Clinton and Edwards in Iowa by McKren(m): 3:18pm On Jan 04, 2008
When great things are about to happen they defy any mathematical, statistical or logical prediction anyone can come up with.

Before the election we were told how 1400 students attended an Obama rally but only 9 signed for caucus as a pointer that his army of youths may not be willing to vote.

When they got to Iowa traditional republicans were wearing Obama shirt.

Now they say his vote were from under 30s

Something new will happen in New Hampshire and they will come up with a statistics.

This is how the statistics may continue to come up until Obama may be sworn in President

If I was an American I will vote for him.

My dear Nigerians, the more i read about Naija, the more i understnd the mentality of a typical Nigerian.
The spokesman to the president is a typical Nigerian, there is no excuse over the presidency action on this Ribadu issue. If the president is actually a graduate, what stops him from read through the relevant Acts/Statues before approving and signing a bloody memo from the IGP.
My submission is,Mr president is not in tune with modern day Nigeria.OBJ is still better in terms of selecting good hand into his administration.
The first bad egg in this administration is Kingibe, then AGF(the degrace to the legal profession).
President Yar'adua is a misguided DICTATOR in the making

Most dictators have a view of the world which they like to push through, but the problem with this President is that he believe's in nothing and stands for nothing. No conviction just calculations and slopiness.

Extracting appologies from people over nothing even when he makes mistakes. Who wants such President in 21st century.

Prof. Soludo once appologised for attempting to do his job, right now no economic direction. Not from Soludo nor from the all knowing Shamsudeen Usman or Sanussi Dagash.

Now they want Ribadu to appologise for doing his job. They will not let a Federal agent into Aso Rock because he did his job while Orji Kalu gets a free ride into Aso Rock to see the President after being granted bail.

Who is this President really and what does he really representhuhhuh

He came to power proclaiming rule of law, now with Ribadu its no longer due process or rule of law. It is now HUMILITY they want even in the face of disrespect for due process.

All those who love this country should mourn the death of DEMOCRACY as here comes the era of misguided DICTATORSHIP.

Hahaha death penalty have not solved the crime problem in the United states of America.
We need a change in our individual mind set.If that is done, doing the right thing will take its natural course.
Take a note,in the early 80s you can't find a pencil to buy in the street of Ghana. They went through the tough time, but today the dividends are evident.
So you don't seem to realize BigB1's position on this issue i simply diversionary

So that we will be stuck on the death penalty debate while corruption continues

At a time when the world is protesting the existence of such laws in the few places they exist, which serious minded person will suggest them.
Someone who can not condone an ordinary EFCC charging those caught to court on the grounds that too many are too corrupt for too long, how will such a person condone death penaltyhuh??

He simply wants to waste everyone's time with a debate that wont go through.

For those celebrating the exit of Ribadu should understand that they have nothing to celebrate. The plot has collapsed!!!!!!
The original plot which was to sack Ribadu, redeploy EFCC staff, change the structure of Senior management of EFCC and then loss of files and withdrawal of cases. That original plot has failed and the structure of EFCC will remain in tact.

Members of public will always monitor the future of those cases, while EFCC was one step ahead of the Presidency as the prosecution charges of Ibori is already in the public domain.
Ribadu has not been technically sacked and will need to be sacked before Presidency will send a replacement name to EFCC.

Kudos to Ribadu's doggedness.

So nothing to celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Fired! by McKren(m): 9:56pm On Jan 02, 2008
What will institutionalize the EFCC is getting the NASS to give it autonomy. 2/3 majority of the house should constitute 50% vote to remove the EFCC Boss. The remaining 50% Vote should be from the President.

Also amending the necessary laws that abhors corruption and making it more stringent.

The above are what will institutionalize EFCC or War against corruption not the dodgy sack of Ribadu.

Did you see what Idris Kutigi did about Judges giving dodgy expert ordershuh? He can not teleguide a Judge on whether or no to give an expert order but he can purnish a Judge for giving questionable expert orders. That is how honest and sincere leaders operate.

Meanwhile remember that the corrupt people in office right now have imunity till 2011.

And BigB1 will once again come out and ask Nigerians to move on and forget the past.

He simply told Nigerians where his loyalty lies

If Ribadu finally goes to Kuru this January, I will advise President Yaradua not to waste the time of Mohamed Uwais or any electoral reform committee for that matter because he will need a bigger fraud than the one that brought him to power to remain as President.

Ibori does not come before Nigeria also

So I don't see why the President will have to replace the EFCC boss because he arrested Ibori a fortnight ago. That is simply criminal.
Thats exactly what happened, the President of the federal republic of Nigeria thinks Ibori's interest if bigger than that of Nigeria.

Ibori has nothing to confess, every Nigerian knows he used part of his loot to finance Yaradua's election. So what is the cover up about. The President is weak, period!!!!!!!!!

They will fail at the courts because the EFCC act only requires a Senate confirmation at the first instance not on re-appointment.

The AGF is simply quoting a law which he wished existed.
