EducationRe: Unilag-made Car Emerges Third Best In World Competition by mcpat(m): 2:12pm On Aug 17, 2014
This news is false, not all of it though... Shell NG sponsored three Federal institution to the Shell Eco Marathon 2014.. The aim of the competition is to find the car that would cover the longest distance using 1 litre of fuel.. The three teams included Uniben(ECO-TUKETUKE), Unilag(AUTONOV II) and ABU(could not finish thier car before the deadline)... Unibens car was the first african car to be certified while autonov was cleared for the race the next day.. NO AFRICAN TEAM WAS IN THE FIRST TEN . The first three were all french schools... So OP which competition did unilag emerge third?

jogojogo: Thanks all for the prompt answers to my questions. I still like to know the differences between FIELD SPECIALIST and FIELD ENGINEER, GRADUATE FIELD ENGINEER.

I am a graduate of Petroleum Engineering (2008), without any form of oil and gas experiences. Which of these positions is appropriate for me to apply?

Finally, can I re apply for a position I once withdrew my application for?
Field Graduate Engineer = Graduate/ Management Trainee (BSC/beng/btech etc)
Field Specialist = Operator Trainee (hnd)
As a Graduate trainee after the three years training u move up the ladder swiftly..you are being trained on being a manager i think

PrinceofParis: Very true, though some mediocre people still hold vital positions as HR personnel and end up altering the recruitment process most times.
Like this BH recruitment now, some will be invited while the lager bulk of applicants will not even be invited at all. If you have a staff referral it could also have a role to play in the first invitation. The rest has to do with your head, your hand and how connected they are with one another.
i thought having a family member at BH was a disadvantage.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Baker Hughes 2015 Graduate Field Engineer! by mcpat(m): 6:51pm On Aug 09, 2014
2sExy1: Pronto! If there wer as much companies as BH, it would be a very good thing. Let me add that if you did IT with an oil firm, state it in your CV and outline your dutys and activities implemented while there. They pay more attention to that!
They are many companies like BH, many who pay better than BH.. Multinational companies want the best they can get so their recruitment process i can assure you is 110% based on merit.

Please I need info on the Graduate field specialist recruitment process, is the initial test a skill test or just the normal SHL or PSL? Do the successful ones go straight to BHE? Or what? As per the Graduate field engineer when they start calling i would drop info.. But please take your time to read last year thread.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Baker Hughes 2015 Graduate Field Engineer! by mcpat(m): 7:19pm On Aug 08, 2014
majekdom2: first : only a small number would be contacted , then a phone interview and then assessment centre . at the assessment centre, one would write some short numerical test. I guess you were expecting some chams city or thousands of invitation kind of test. I dont think they do that. initial screening starts from the application sent .
thats for graduate field Engineer, for graduate field specialist there would be an initial test i think

First of all SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY..put on your labcoat, googles and gloves.. Take a quick look at the manual..put ur litmus paper in water then place it in the ph meter to balance the meter(since the pH of H20 is 7) then test for the acidic/alkanic liquid..always return ur ph to 7 after each reading and ofcuz be time concious
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Baker Hughes 2015 Graduate Field Engineer! by mcpat(m): 11:13pm On Aug 07, 2014
2sExy1: Wait for that one. Relax. They will call when its time. As a matter of fact, some of my friends are still on waiting list from last April recruitment. It was just last week here that a certain division were told that they will resume by Sept. and not all got that message, which means some don't even know when they will resume, though they have gotten their offer letter. Until they finish with those guys, I don't think they will start calling. cool
if they wouldnt call they would not have place the add..mind u they wont contact everyone at the same time..Please read last years thread although there is not much info on graduate field specialist..which is the info i need.

UcLloyd: Mind u, a university of technology engineering awarded degree is difference from that of a University, maybe that's where ur confusion is coming from. A university doesn't award a straight b.eng, buh a university of technology does...that's where ur confusion is coming from
bros no vez...UNIBEN awards B.ENG and M.ENG... I was shocked when i read something on B.SC for engineering graduates earlier on in the thread

DPlacement: I have been asked to stop posting for fear of being seen as unfairly influencing the recruitment process.

I am here in a personal capacity and my views do not represent those of my employers.

I will answer 10 further questions before deactivating this account.

So far, only one person has succeeded in unmasking me. I cannot underestimate how much I appreciate that person's discretion.

After this, you are on your own.

To those who made it to the Assessment Centre stage, you are the Cream of the Crop!

PrinceofParis: @MCpat, your experience so far with the NLNG thread would have shown you what I said above. We all wrote the same exam, B.Sc, B.Eng or B.Tech. And many many B.Eng fell just as BSc fell too.
i am not disputing this fact. I only wanted to know if engineering graduates are conferred with B.sc
