Congratulations. Please I donโ€™t mind if you can walk me through the total cost implication of your processes through express entry as Iโ€™m just about to start. Thanks.

Whatever information I give you based on my personal expenditure would likely be outdated. Cost of different things have changed, like IELTS, ECA, passport application, flight fares (and I do not even know the current rates), PoF requirement, exchange rates. Your family size and PR pathway might even be different from mine.

At best, I'd advise you to check the resources on page 1. I do know that there's a link there that highlights the requirements for pursuing a PR through EE. Play around with various possible scenarios and cost implications. That way, you'd very likely not be too far from the actual amount, assuming exchange rates don't keep rising

Obtained my Canada Citizenship last week 3 years 5 months after i landed . Donโ€™t listen to those anti japa people , some of their kids have USA citizenship already.
The Canada immigration has changed a bit since I applied in 2019 but if you meet the requirements and have in demand occupation abeg pursue it o. If you can learn French too please do.

Most of what i learnt about express entry was from Nairaland. I found out a certification i did in 2009 qualified for two or more degrees here. I learnt about gift deed here etc. Canada also has its own challenges but it cannot be compared to Nigeria. The quality of life, access to healthcare, peace of mind and amenities etc.
Me i don signout o. One love ๐Ÿ˜

Congratulations brother. Welcome home!

Hello everyone.

I would like to make an inquiry on French proficiency and would appreciate your responses.

Using authoritative CRS calculators online, I ascertained that my CRS score would be 453 with just my IELTS general training result. However, with above average scores in TEF, Iโ€™d be looking at an increase to at least 510.

Iโ€™ve been learning French for more than 3 years, and Iโ€™ve taken and passed DELF twice (for proficiency levels A2 and B1). I can get a tutor for TEF to take the exam before the end of the year.

What I would like to know is, would it be possible for me to create an express entry profile now and use just my IELTS result, and then later update my details to make French my first language to earn more points when my TEF result is out in a couple of months in order to make me eligible under the general draw and the French proficiency draw? Or I would have cancel my express entry account and create another one when I want to add the TEF result in a couple of months?

Thanks in advance for your helpful responses.
The bolded above is, in fact, what you should do. Timeliness of submission is key

Thank you. I received the passport request letter and i was asked to respond in 30 days but i am scheduled to be married just few days after the the 30days elapses. So i sent the webform to explain that.

What forms and documents did you fill for your spouse?

You have to get married first before informing IRCC of the changes in your family composition.

The forms to be filled would be contained in the letter from IRCC. That is what you ought to follow, and not some other person's experience. It's possible that things have changed from the time I submitted mine to now.

I went through your past posts on NL to know your kind of personality because I know a female friend willing to sublet her room, you claimed you are an introvert, and you enjoy your private space and don't like sharing your space while you loose energy having people around you.

Now that you are pregnant and you need help with accommodation and help from people, you still came here to claim you want people around you.

You want people around you now as maid shey?

Personally, people like you don't deserved to be helped.

This post was absolutley unnecessary (especially the last sentence). It is quite worrisome to know that folks like you exist in Canada. I pray that our paths don't cross, unless perhaps you become more humane and a little more mature with handling emotions and speech.

I notified IRCC on January 26 and received the response to upload relevant documents for spouse on March 5.

Hello guys, please does anyone knows where I can notarize gift deed in kwara state, preferably Ilorin?

You don't need all of that. If you have a well written deed, all you'd be needing be your benefactor's signature.

Having said that, you may proceed with paying a notary public for a seal, if that'll reduce anxiety

You can just go to the NIN office also and they will update your email to the current available one

I received word that the NIN portal has been down for nearly 2 weeks. This may not be unconnected with the recent difficulties people are faced with completing basic things that require NIN. Pensioners that need to complete some form of update have also been affected by this.

Congratulations again!! Please how many consent forms did you attach while submitting your passport?

You do not need to fill out the section for consent during submission. It is only needed to authorize collection of your passport by anyone other than the owner. However, during submission, you need to present the document issued to each family member during biometric submission (i.e photocopy of passport with the affixed sticker).

I hope this helps

@ OP while I commend your write up, I must debunk some of what you said cos its very untrue. E.g When I was in the banking industry, I personally spent 3 years on a grade before getting promoted and I was considered to be a superstar as this was slightly faster than the industry average. Meanwhile, my friends at the Big4 got promoted three times during the same period. OP the embolden is a huge untruth. The Big4 are the least to promote talkless of 3 times promotion in 3 years(huge fantasy. Lol). My big bro started working in GTB(a big 4) at 2011. By 2013...

If you lack knowledge of something,
you should ask before jumping into a reaction. I do not think the big 4 he talked about is the same as what you're referring to. In the professional space, the big 4 represents the 4 biggest consulting/audit firms (KPMG, PwC, EY & Deloitte), and YES, they promote yearly.

Hello Good morning,

Please at what point will ircc request for an updated pof for a family of 2?.

A little context; so I recently notified ircc of my marriage and they sent an email listing all the documents we have to submit. However, in the email, nowhere does it state we have to submit updated pof.

Will they request for it at a later date or is it just assumed that we should attach it?

Meanwhile what is happening to the exchange rate ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿค•

Your (updated) POF needs to be part of your submission, else you'd get an ADR. This could delay your application processing.

I have submitted my application and to be honest the currency difference is massive.
Current difference for a family of 3 is 3million give/take. From 7million+ to 10.5million +. Haba This is too significant I think.

braine:
The question should be if this affect those who have already submitted their application. The change is massive.

themonk:
Iโ€™d appreciate if GraciousWords and Ednut1 could weigh in on this. Iโ€™m in the same situation, I used a gift deed document and fixed deposit of 6M for my proof of funds for one person, apparently it has gone up to around 6.7M

Should I do an extra fixed deposit?

Applications are assessed based on the information and parameters applicable at the date/time of submission. Your application will not be refused because FX rates changed subsequent to submission. If there is a need to re-evaluate your elligibility status, you'd surely get an ADR (not a refusal).

For others that are yet to submit, kindly ensure that your POFs are translated using the prevalent exchange rates found HERE, on the date of your submission. That's the most likely rate the officers are going to use during the elligibility checks. As at 15/6/23, the rate stood at โ‚ฆ485.01 per CAD

Ok Thank you.

"We require a scanned copy of a police certificate for all countries where your spouse or CLP has lived for more than 6 months since the age of 18 years. Please ensure that they have obtained these certificates after their stay in these countries."
this is a line from the email received from ircc.

My spouse is currently studying in the UK for over 6 months, does this mean he only has to provide PC for Nigeria?

If not, which PC is acceptable for Uk?

Your spouse has to provide PCC for each country he has spent at least 6 months since turning 18. From your response above, he'd need to provide a UK PCC

Thank you so much

Please another question. For the IMM0008 (Generic Application form for Canada), myself (MA) and my spouse were asked to fill this form but I am a bit confused. Do I submit 2 copies of the form filled by me (MA) cos if my spouse fills the same form, then he will be required to fill the first part of the form as the MA and add my details on the other part of the form as the Dependant which is not the case.
I am really confused, kindly help anyone!

Thanks.

You two have to fill out the IMM0008 form individually. She'd be filling your information (as a spouse) in the second part of the form. That doesn't make her the PA, nor you the dependant.

Hello guys.
Please I have an issue I wrote my diploma with unilag and put it to be evaluated by wes and it was evaluated as 1 semester degree instead of 1 year diploma. I did my diploma in 2014/15 when it changed to jupeb.
I don't know if anyone has this issue with wes also so I can do reevaluation and it can be changed.
Please if you had this issue let me know with solution. Thanks

Take no further step. The "College level certificate (one semester)" evaluation from WES can be used to claim points for 2 or more certificates, when combined with a Bachelors degree or at least a 3 years study certificate

Hello NL,

Please I need clarification.
I had earlier raised a webform informing IRCC of my marriage post AOR.

They have now formally replied asking us to submit some forms and additional documents.
However, I have checked my profile and only 3 placeholders was provided to uploaded these documents and there are over 6 forms to fill and other documents as well.

Can I merge all of them with proper naming or do I raise another webform to upload the rest?

Also, do I pay the fees first before uploading the forms and documents?

The 3 placeholders have been labelled for ease of reference.
- Upload your payment receipt in the first;
- Your IRCC specification compliant passport photo in the second; and
- A merged and compressed copy of ALL other required documents, pictures, forms etc in the third placeholder

Please what's the difference between "Counterfoil" and "COPR?

Counterfoil is the sticker that is placed in a person's passport to show that they have met the requirements for admission to Canada while CoPR is a document issued when an immigrant is approved for permanent residence in Canada. You need these two to enter Canada as a PR
