ceaser: See, the guy na fake. AE don't really vet sellers like it's done on eBay, Amazon etc. Heck, the Chinese government don't even have punitive laws to discourage such. To the Chinese, it's seen as a thing of pride to outsmart others, mostly in cunning ways.
So the red flags for that guy is that the store was recently opened, probably in preparation for Black Friday and gadget Monday sales. The second red flag is that the items are dirt cheap, those items will most likely be fake.
So here is what happens. You're not the only person that will be attracted by the "juicy offers", at least a million other shoppers likely are. So if each one of you buys 10 dollars worth of item from his store, that makes 10 million dollars. He will ship the item of course, but it'll be fake. The purchase protection is what he is banking on. Not many AE shoppers know about BP and so it always run out on their profile without they knowing it. Also not everyone has the luxury of watching the last few minutes of BP expiry with the hope of filing for dispute the moment it runs out. Not many buyers know that you can file dispute for fake items.
These are the categories of people that this seller plan to capitalize on. If out of a million buyers, 500 thousand failed to file dispute as at when due and funds have already been released to the seller.
Four years ago in preparation for Black Friday on AE, I had spotted this store with dirt cheap prices and I bought a Bose Sound link Mini I had planned to acquire that year.
Come and see how disappointed I was when was delivered was total fake and imitation. I had to make a video evidence back to AE to refund my dues. After Black Friday, I wanted to write reviews to expose the seller, alas the store no longer exists - It's like the store was in existence for just like one month.
I was later to buy the certified Soundlink Mini from another reputable seller.
In my early days in AE, I bought such an item. AE closed the shop after like a week or so. I guess the fake shop will soon be closed.
ceaser: Exobank isn't a very serious bank. Mailing the custocare does not guarantee that I'll get response in record time. I don't wanna waste my time with those guys.
And worse still, Ecobank charged 400 naira to the dollar. I just calculated it now using the amount I was debited.
I guess Zenith's 200 USD cap at 390 naira to the dollar is the way to go.
All these banks with sluggish customer care are not really one to do business with.
ceaser: So I guess I was right after all. I tried a 2,800 naira purchase on Ecobank and was turned down. I've made purchases nearing 10k on the card in the past four days or thereabout.
So I guess it's safe to say that their cap is around that kain 10,000 naira or 25 USD. Abbysmal, for lack of suitable words.
Sadly I squandered that small cap trialing Ecobank card on inconsequential items. Now that I need to get the important stuffs, I'm outta juice.
Make Monday come make I obtain my Zenith card.
Did you email their customer care to ascertain how much the USD cap limit is? $25 is too poor. WTF is wrong? Yet our polithiefcians steal millions of dollars everyday, when it comes to legit business the dollars are suddenly scarce
ceaser: Each tile is rated 30 watts, the voltage isn't indicated though. But it'll be interesting to know if the efficiency at 30 watts is as good as that from flat panels currently in use widely.
Looks cool. If everyone substitutes their roof to this, that will be something
korban3134: I have some questions to make troubleshooting easier.
1) Did you buy the battery new? --YES ITS NEW
2) What is the total load (total device power) connected to the inverter?---200watts approximately
3) Do you have any idea the maximum charging current and voltage of the inverter? Do you know the cut off voltage of this inverter? That is the lowest voltage that it cuts off the battery?-- NO TO ALL
4) Do you usually run the inverter with NEPA or generator?- NEPA
If generator, do you have any idea the frequency produced by this generator?
If NEPA, do you experience low voltage a lot in your 'hood?-160V minimum... usually around 180-203V
In my opinion, I think 200w on a single 200ah battery is kinda high load considering the inverter inverter charging current may not be more than 11A.
Ok, you may need to borrow a clamp meter to check the charging current of the inverter.
But in the long run I think the battery may have sustained some damage due to poor charging and the heavy load. So I may encourage you to either lower the load or upgrade the inverter and battery numbers.
Dellaxlogistic: For shipping out of the country with 30% deal can never go south. For custom and other agencies clearing, it's either we get it done or not. And if the job is not done, why do I need to hold on to your money? If the shipping is on its way to Nigeria just notify me before it arrives, we get it done without any problem at all.. And if it is already here too before you notify us, we find a way around it. Be rest assured we are building a relationship that should last for a long time so far we both are still in this business.
Dellaxlogistic: I give 30% off normal DHL price for international shipping and door to door delivery . If your items enter Nigerian via DHL I can help you clear with Custom, DSS and other agencies. Thank you
Any guarantee for money-back should deal go south?
ceaser: I posted something earlier about that spaceX guy (Elon Musk) planning something of this sort. But I don't think this is his own exact concept.
His is flat tiles, but this seems to follow the traditional undulating roof format, which makes it more beautiful, that is if it can guarantee adequate electricity output from varying illumination that will occur on the exposed surfaces.
But the pictures look high definition like it's CGI. If they are real pictures, then that's cool evolution.
ceaser: It seems the problem with logistic right now is more of NIPOST than Singpost or AESS. Accepted that covid had it's own toll on them but they seem to be trying their best to get items across.
NIPOST here however seems to have enjoyed the lockdown (salary without work) so much so that they are not willing to get back to normal and routine work of transporting and delivering parcels within the country. At least we have gotten stories of guys here that got to the post office to insist that their arrived parcel (according to tracking) be searched for, something which they did and found out it had gathered dust in their storage. It seems Lagos people are not forwarding parcels to other PO nationwide, or if they do then they are doing it in trickles. I strongly believe that many of our pending deliveries are like that.
Do they have a Twitter handle that someone could bombard then to force 'em to giddy up?
All the Twitter handles appear to be fake as they neither engage or offer any solutions. All public firm in Nigeria appear to be on autopilot when it comes to customer care.
adanny01: Like how much is the customs fees for a phone and at what stage will I pay.
I have found the a phone I want to buy, with AliExpress standard shipping is about 79+k on one seller and another seller is 78+k via DHL (overall cheapest). If I will pay duties of 5k or less, I will do DHL but more than that would be a deal breaker.
I need an idealistic amount of duties.
How much you pay is dependent on the phone you buy. When you buy popular phones like Apple phones, Oppo, Xiaomi, etc the custom guys knows the real cost of these items and they will charge like 17% import duty and 7 to 7.5% VAT
But if you buy a not popular phone in Nigeria, they can only bill you as much as they think the phone is worth.
Xender10: How is it possible this has not arrived at my post office till now..
All my AliExpress order na so so story these days... This one was ordered around 9th March..tracked it after 50 days, they said it was at hand over to airline..I forgot about it waiting for a day it will miraculously land at my post office. Just tracked it today and see what I'm seeing That it has arrived since 26 March.. Like how did it happen? When I tracked it last month it was still saying hand over to airline. Now it's saying arrived at Nigeria since 26th March, yet post office said dey haven't seen d item. Guys abeg help me explain this magic
Help doesnt come unless u quote.. Bosses abeg epp me Cc: Jb.oixx Ear.threalm Mctf.opt Mei.ster
International logistics these days are very slow and unpredictable. I have some package enroute since March and there is no purchase protection on it. With AliExpress, you have buyer protection, so the only thing you can do is visit your local post office and if they say they don't have your package, open dispute if the buyer protection is over and get a refund. For light important and urgent package, I use DHL or FedEx. That way I'm guaranteed that I will get my package on time with no stories.
FYI: I've gotten 5 out of my nine packages I ordered in AliExpress. I do reply to loads of people comments here even those that did not quote.
teaj007: I just tried GTB card just now. Is no longer working....telling me to contact my card provider. It seems they block card transactions on GTB. And other option Guys? When last did u use it to make payment
Although there is a modification to it. I had no NEPA bill (I don't have business with useless NEPA, I have only God and His freely given solar energy to thank). So according to the custocare agent, if I open the account without NEPA bill, the account will be called at 500k max inflow and balance. That can however be modified later when I'm able to provide a NEPA bill.
Ok, you can open a tier 1 account with restrictions even without any of the government issued ID. Just that they usually have restrictions on the amount of inflows the account can take.
Olamed89: Do zenith bank offer zero balance account like gtb? How much do de assign dier master to customers? Wat r the requirements if one already have a bvn? Thanks.
You can open account with Zenith bank with zero naira. To open a naira account you'll need the following:
1) A utility bill of less or equal to 3 months old. 2) An identity card ( international passport, driver's licence, voter's card, national identity card, etc) 3) One passport photograph.
ceaser: Getting late to Zenith bank on Friday, I collected an account opening mandate from the custocare. I've filled in the form and instructed it be returned first thing on Monday.
I've jumped ship to Zenith as I no longer enjoy the guarantee from GTB.
Abigai: please bros, how long can this 12v lifepo4 lithium battery back up or last.
How long it'll last depends on the load (electrical gadgets connected). The capacity is rated 768WH...which means a 100watt load will last 7.8 hours or 7 hours 48 minutes. That means twice that load (200 watts) should last for 3 hours 54 minutes. So the more the load, the lesser the hours it will last.
SirNeroDee: For no 1, I think they were the one who asked me to fill in the refund amount I wanted as I opened dispute.. And I asked for full refund.. I didn't know of any Aliexpress law court where I could counter anything.. No 2 isn't possible at all.. Like how can I lose that percentage of money cause of fall in Naira?? It just doesn't make any sense
Sometimes you may open dispute and seller will agree to pay only some fraction of the money. If you didn't counter this, AE will assume that is what you want and pay you that much. Also losing or gaining money is real when it comes to paying back order; especially considering forex volitility and time (more than 60 days) between order and when you get refunded.
