chocolatey cakey goodness dipped in chocolate. They are definitely a great addition to any party tray. Try our new cake ball flavor - Mudslide cake ball (alcoholic) with baileys, vodka and creme de cacao liqueur and Tequila sunrise cake ball (alcoholic) tequila, corazon and orange juice.

no sarcasm here, I promise.
FamilyRe: Important Things To Discuss Before Marriage by Meddler(f): 5:15pm On Jul 29, 2013
DarryOsh: well said. I stated earlier that i wonder if perhaps i am the one surrounded by the wrong sort. U make it sound as if i said all ladies are like that? No i did not.

And i forgot to mention that i know a number of independent ones too (but for some reasons thear are 'within reach').

But if as u say, most of the ladies you know are independent and yet do not let it 'get into their heads'( u didnt talk about that aspect though), then its great.

Finally, about meeting 'women', i am not even 'searching' (@ least not delibrately).
I know u didn't mean all the ladies. And yes they don't let it get to their heads grin.

Anyway hope u finally get to meet the ideal lady who is within reach
FamilyRe: Important Things To Discuss Before Marriage by Meddler(f): 4:10pm On Jul 29, 2013
DarryOsh: now that you asked, i realise puttin it in into words in more difficult than i thought. Well, i must say that i believe good peolpe(regardless of sex, age, race etc) are generally hard to come by.

My default impression of ladies is that they are are superficial. I mean, who says they cant b deep thinkers.....to lots of them fashion, and other superficial stuff are kind of priority. Just check out what a lot of them regard as entertainment. They dont wann see deep movies.no! They dont really aspire for much. So many just want a guy with money and feel pressured to go into retaionships and marriage jut for the sake of it.

Why are they scared to b alone. A lady leaves a relationship and cannot imagine being on her own for a while. She just jumps into another man's arms. Talk about independence. Its all about show-off (even their marriage and relationships). My friend who things i set my standards too high believes that is how ladies are supposed to b.

In short, most girls go into relationships with the mindset that they are going to 'take' rather than 'give'. I wouldnt want a nagging wife who believe i should do d work of making things 'work' because she is the lady and i am the man.

Now, from experience, those who seem to have the right mindset may have submission issues (i use the word submission in accordance with the bible).

And, oh, faith is one thing i cnt compromise. Not just by mouth, bt practicing it.

Ps: sometimes i wonder if i hold this beliefs because of my own environment. I must say that when i come on to nairaland and read posts by some ladies, i wonder how come i dont come in contact with these wonderful ones. Where the hell are they?

I have tried to put it in words.......
I laugh when I hear guys describe a particular type of lady u have encountered in the past or present. My take is that if u have been meeting the same type of girls over and over again, change environments ur taste and try something different. my female friends r the complete opposite of what you described above. Sorry for the cliché but they r strong independent women and r not looking for someone to take care of them. Now the funny thing is that guys appear not to like those kind of chicks. Either they r too intimidated by them or they believe they would be too proud. Anyway the gist of my story is that u start looking for women and not girls because there's a big difference between the two. Apparently uve only been meeting girls.

I tried finger combing once and it takes so my much time. I'm not the patient type but I'm experiencing so much breakage and I need to try it out again.

That's another good advice. But isn't their cases limited to abuja only?

bennyraz: nobody would fling the petition off his/her table.. Nigerians need to learn to start writing letters.. once it gets to the senate or house of reps.. it will be treated and investigated.. the officers involved might be fired if found guilty..
I'm with you on this one. I actually think its the best option. Forget suing the police, I'm sure they already have a gazillion cases against them with no action.
Petitions are like kryptonite to civil servants. Your best option is to write a petition and do as benny suggested. Nigerians really do have to start writing letters. I would also suggest u involve one or two newspapers if you can too.

Finally someone who's spoken the truth. Men can't cook period. The likes of Mario Batalli and Bobby Flay who like to claim chef status have a female preparing all their food for them and then they will come out declaring their prowess.
Nigerian men can't cook sh*t not even worth a penny. The road side bukka's cook good indomie but we know that's a fluke. They are probably women pretending to be men.
And that your male friend shud check himself well. Are u sure he's tasted his food? I'm sure his fiance tosses out the food he prepares and makes another one and he comes out the next day thinking that's still his meal in the pot. Yeye guy mschewwww........

Ivynwa: Meddler has come again-o with all the concoctions she mixes up for her hair. Why don't you even start an organic/botanic kind of hair food line?
I am sure that you will make a headway.
I have used a V05 product but that was their shampoo, their product is of good quality.

Darkie! Meddler!
Happy to let you know that I have gone Uber natural on my hair. I am excited about it actually. Barbed off my long relaxed hair leaving behind only my natural hair. I tried to twist it and lock it but when I went under the shower it untwisted so I am going to use something like the kinky natural to plait it and start locking it with it.
Woop! Woop! Excited.

I love my natural hair and when I see weaves/weavons now I look at it like " I don't need those shiny stuffs, thank you".
Natural hair rocks big time! Exotic and soulful!
There is this Nigerian actress rocking natural hair powerfully nowadays, what's her name? (Nse Etim). I only want those soulful natural look right now.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha. U had me cracking up with ur post. I consider myself a mixologist cheaper than buying some home treatment product when I have the products i need in my kitchen. Who knows one day I might just prepare cake batter and mistakenly put in in my hair hahahahahahahahahahaha grin

Thank you. As long its in a clean environment I'm ok with that. Some houses I've been to so far have been quite discouraging.
If its Kubwa, are there any houses in the Army quarters? I've been there and like the clean and serene atmosphere there.

If you have anything in Kubwa, Gwarinpa, Wuse, Garki or any place not too far from these location within 600-700K please lemme know. I looking to move out from my current place soon. Thanks for your help.

pejuhazel: Thanks a lot.
I have always twisted my hair when it is damp but i'll try your method today and hope it turns out fine. I noticed my twists have gotten worse since i started using the hello hydration conditioner cos it leaves my hair dry and funny, so i'll try my old conditioner then twist my hair thereafter. *Fingers crossed*
Hope it works for u. gud luck

pejuhazel: Please if anybody sees this,it is a cry for help.........
I can't for the life of me achieve a wonderful twist-out or flat twist and this makes me really sad, though I have always been challenged when it comes to styling my hair but I've been using this whole natural hair journey as a learning process, but I would love it if ANYONEcan provide pointers on how to get a rocking twists I will be eternally greatfull.
P.S. My hair isn't long and neither is it still at the TWA stage,it is at the awkward confusing stage.
Gracias all.
I usually get good twistout from twisting my hair while damp. The key I also realized is having my hair well moisturized too and detangled. Doing twist on dry hair for a twistout has never yielded me good results. Speaking from my experience three things that has helped me are:

Twisting on damp hair
Twisting on detangled, moisturized hair
and making sure the twist are well dried.

P.S. the longer the twist stays the better twistout results.

davidylan: Submission simply means a woman opting to let her man take the lead in the home. Submission does not mean one person is a servant and the other a Lord.
That's what i believe it should be but in the Nigerian setting it seems to be the latter. One being the servant and the other person a Lord.

FamilyRe: Why Don't Christians Apply The Bible To Their Lives Especially In Marriages? by Meddler(f): 4:32pm On Jun 10, 2013
bukatyne: Hi Dear,

God commanded Christian wives to submit to their husbands and husbands love their wives. Submission itself is not bad, it is the interpretation people have come to give it.

A Christian husband is called to love his wife? what is this love? 1Cor13:1 - 8 defines it. It is always kind, patient, tolerant, polite, not boastful nor proud nor jealous, believes all things, has faith in the person, endures all things, always happy when the truth wins etc. You will agree with me that a husband who exhibits all these characteristics has esteemed his wife above himself i.e. he honours her above himself. The wife would reciprocate by honouring the husband (submission) above himself else he's like a fool because he is looking out for her and she is looking out for herself too. A wife would have no problems submitting to a husband who geninuely loves her. The husband makes the wife happy, why should she not make him happy too?

A husband is called to lead his family because he's the source. Ideally, a man decides to get married and seeks the woman they can both build their lives together. The man should have a vision of how his home would be and look for a woman that has a similar vision. This can be loosely termed as 'compatibility'.

A husband is also the head of his family how Jesus Christ is the Head of his Church. The right question should be 'how did Christ head His church?' He did by making sacrifices for her, loving her even when she was unlovable etc. Jesus also said that He did not come to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. A husband should serve his wife and not the other way round. Jesus showed us examples by washing the feet of his disciples, cooking for them etc.

If you find a Christian man who truly loves you, you will understand this concepts. I actually opened this thread from this POV.

'A man's love makes a woman blossom and that woman takes care of the man to make him blossom too.' Bukatyne 2012

Cheers.
Now that makes sense. I truly believe in oneness. I'm never going to completely agree with my husband and vice-versa but I do believe we have that responsibility of working together to reach a consensus. I've noticed that Nigerian men (not all) tend to equate submission to "slavery". Now before u start screaming bloody murder let me explain what i mean by "slavery". The fact that you both leave under the same roof and one spouse is left to handle everything in a house while the other one wakes up and does nothing to assist. For example, both husband and wife are employed and work equal amount of hours but only the wife is relegated to take care of all the house chores, cooking, getting the kids ready to work etc. Now I'm not saying the woman should start slacking because she's working but would be so hard for the guy to chip in too. Is that asking for too much?
FamilyRe: Why Don't Christians Apply The Bible To Their Lives Especially In Marriages? by Meddler(f): 1:00am On Jun 09, 2013
Pls I need to understand what this whole submission business I keep hearing means. Its on NL, in my office and social gatherings. What is it really?
I'm not married lemme quickly put it out there but why are ppl so adamant about this business of a head and tail. What ever happened to patners and being a team because that's how I feel marriage shud be. Raising a family shud be a team efforts where views are aired and decisions are made jointly as one. Off course there's bound to be disagreements from time to time but that's just the dynamics of social interaction. And yes once in a while someone has to back down and let they other person shine. That's just how the team works. It must not always be one person dng the backing down.
A marriage is team effort so when one person falls the other can pick up the slacks. When you co-own a business with someone else both individuals are required to give inputs, make decisions jointly for the good and growth of the business. Both individuals have to pull their weight accordingly and when either of them falls or slacsk off the other person is around to pick up the pieces.
So I ask again what is with all this submission business?

Has anyone used VO5 conditioner as their main deep conditioner? I alwaus use it as a prepoo or as an add in to my concotions. But today I actuallly used it as my main moisturizing conditioner and my hair loves it!! Mixed it with shea butter, castor oil, coconut oil and honey and I can't believe the results. And I have been worried sick about finding a good moisturing conditioner when I had one all along.
An additional bonus my hair is coming along fine. My back her is at APL, wish the rest of my hair wud catch up fast. All in all I'm pretty pleased with my hair progress.
CelebritiesRe: Tonto Dikeh's VIP Birthday In London (Pictures) by Meddler(f): 6:31pm On Jun 08, 2013
This what happens when you use a shady make up artist (I guarantee you she did not do that herself). Let me point out the most obvious mistake:
Using a foundation and cover way lighter than ur skin color. When choosing foundation always look for ones that blend to ur skin color. Make up artist wud advice you to dab a bit on ur chin and blend in rather than the back of ur hands. The skin on the back of our hands tend to be lighter than our face color.
Many women tend to be guilty of this so she's not the first and this is definitely not a case of bleaching cream.
Using proper light while applying ur makeup makes a whole lotta difference in d end
The camera man just did her a diservice. But really not his/her fault though. Still blame the makeup artist who gave her the ghost face.
Other than that I think she looked quite lovely. I really don't like blonde hair on black chicks but she pulled it off quite well.
