I must admit, it was mighty tempting, but he told me his age and i flipped. at 23, a 34 year old man is way too old for me. but for some reason i feel like i did something wrong, or that i should have given him a chance. but at the same time, this gives me the strength to resist other men. I can always tell them "look, i turned down a guy who was pushing a mercedes, what makes you think that I would put up with your mess?"

on the other hand im scolding myself. What is wrong with me!!! I feel like im self sabotaging or something.

onyxo76: its good the issue has been resolved to some extent but the full effects of this strike will be felt when these doctors resume at their duty post hopefully on monday, several experienced hand have already gotten employments elsewhere with better pay etc, so replacing them will be tough.for those who think a doctor can be jobless, on the contrary most doctors already have too many calls to perform this or that.has anyone ever heard of an experienced surgeon being jobless? those guys are forever cutting jobs here and there, infact they complain of not even having enough time to rest before being called for another surgery somewhere.

continue to yob!

Evil Brain: This is not enough. The government should pay the doctors the full amount that was agreed and not a penny less. They shouldn't think that just because they have backed down a little that the doctors will forget the issue that started the whole problem.

If the governmnt tries to remove even 1 kobo from a doctor's hard earned salary, they will face the fight of their lives. They may be able to get away with this type of nonsense with the poor masses who don't know their rights, but doctors are cut from a different cloth.

mind you, number of persons dying everyday owning to lack of electricity is far more than what you 800 doctors can handle.

I prefer the energy professional laborers to get as much as the doctors. heat is killing us everyday, CO is killing them everyday, food poison is killing them everyday. everywhere smelling owning to lack of energy, even you doctors your life span reduced already by 10 yias owning to lack of power.

velociraptor: well, i started this topic after going through series of animated clips or reels done by nigerians so far. really am disappointed in most of what i saw. it is as if the 3d artist are after the title of being the 1st person to publish nigeria's 1st 3d animated reel or movie. if we keep doing this, we 're definitely sending out a bad impression to the international community.

Lets set standards for those meat and vegetable sellers, this will really affect our society positively.

LocalChamp: Sagay, others differ over renaming of UNILAG in honour of Abiola
On May 29, 2012 · In News 3:13 pmEmail0

Lagos – Some prominent lawyers on Tuesday expressed mixed reactions over the decision of the Federal Government to rename the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in honour of the late Chief MKO Abiola.

The lawyers gave their views in separate interviews in Lagos.

President Goodluck Jonathan had on Tuesday made the announcement during a nationwide broadcast to mark the 2012 Democracy Day.

He said the name change was in honour of the late Abiola’s contribution to the nation’s democracy.

A constitutional lawyer, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), said the president should be praised for his effort to immortalise Abiola, adding that he, however, made a wrong choice in choosing UNILAG.

Sagay said: “The president should be praised for his effort to immortalise Abiola. It was done out of good intention but he chose the wrong institution.

“UNILAG is too well established and has its own individual personality which will be difficult to overshadow”.

He noted that the president could have named one of the nine federal universities being constructed by the government in honour of the late acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.

“This would have been less contentious because they are yet to be given any names and have no identity of their own unlike UNILAG”, Sagay added.

Mr Bamidele Aturu, a human rights activist, said the president had the power to change the name of the institutioņ stressing that nothing was actually wrong with the name change.

He said: “The renaming itself is not the problem it is was a populist gesture. This must not been seen as a way to garner the sympathy of the people of the South West.

“The Federal Government has the power to change the name of any of its institution but it must be done with approval of the university’s council.

“If the UNILAG Council did not approve the name to be changed, then there will be a problem because it means that due process has not been followed”.

Also speaking, Mr Wale Ogunade, President, Voters Awareness Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, said the proper way to honour Abiola would have been to recognise June 12 as a national holiday.

“MKO Abiola is not known to be an educationist. The best way to have honoured him is for the Federal Government to recognise June 12 as a national public holiday”, he said.

Ogunade said lawyers in the country would challenge the change of the institution’s name in a court of competent jurisdiction if it was not reversed by the government.

He said: “The University of Lagos was enacted by an act, so nobody can unilaterally change its name without an act by the National Assembly.

“I can assure you that this will be challenged in the court because it is an illegality”. (NAN)

komole: JONATHAN's PLAN TO DISUNITE THE SOUTH WEST

Well, enough of the Jokes about the change of the University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University.

I could be a very comical person but also very realistic in thoughts. After the jokes and funfair about the change in name, it kept me thinking deep and coming up with the conclusion this is nothing but a POLITICAL CUNFUSION plot targeted at the Southwestern Region of the Country.

Its a fact that Boko Haram is more political than religion to bring about the disunity of the Northern Region.

Now the name change of the University was announced knowing Politicians, Professionals and Students (who comprises majority of the population) will condemn and protest against the action. This is a plot to create a division amongst the Yorubas and make it look like they don't appreciate one of their own in person of Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 Presidential Election. Even though he is termed an "hero" by past and present politicians across Nigeria.

The Question is why University of Lagos? Why was it not the National Theatre, National Museum, Bar Beach, Third Mainland Bridge or any other National Edifice Named after him?

Don't forget this present administration looks at the North and South West as their major critic and as such will do anything to disunite their "common thoughts"

Jonathan and his Government want to play on the intelligence of people by pretending they have good intentions when in reality they do not.

this is the type of analysis killed our development - what concern you OP, students, profs with name change. let the students get their pali get out of the place and the profs get their paycheck and continue your job. we have more to worry about.

If the students are so responsible and think about the future, All this year graduates nation wide should all go energy companies to serve with strong coordination, plan and implement immediate change or otherwise non should go for any service. can dey do it?

we will not get 24/7 power in this country in the next 100 yias, the wages of the energy professional laborers just too low to provide 24/7 light.

with the present situation of power generation one should expect the professional laborers in the power section to make as much as the medical doctors.

we are dying of heat, food and drugs contermination owning to lack of power to preserve our foods. wasting foods everyday owning to lack of power to preserve it. wasting hours to making food every day owning to lack of power.

50% of average naija person' life wasted owning to lack of power.

shymmex: This the topic Nigerians at home and in the diaspora should have a discourse about. Let's leave countries we have no stake in alone, and focus on our continent..

My hypothesis:

Till we rid Nigeria off retards - and uncle toms, we would continue to be the most disappointing country on this planet... Nigeria has so much potentials - but nothing to show for it... Most of our so-called 'educated' people are clowns with herd mentality who can't think critically... Nigerian educated class are also notorious of having low self-esteem.. cool

OP - name one, just one pure black country on this earth that is develop - the answer is none, then thy did you think naija should be different?
