sorry if dis post is out of place or already answered, but anytime i want to update my iphone, it disconnects me frm the apple server after spending so many hrs online. its really frustrating. any solutions?

ok, this is really gettin interestin.!

i must 1st add that most of d probs/flaws/shortcomings/whatever-u-wish-to-call-them are a hell of an inconvenience, eg

1. i cant check my call duration - really big prob
2. no video recording, no audio recording, slow shutter
3. i cant even forward a text msg, or save a draft - REALLY BIG prob typing out a whole msg again!!
4. i cant send a simple pix via b/tooth
5. etc etc

for me those are my main challenges in my 8 mths iphone experience. but i wish to use this avenue to confirm why i cant even update my phone software, most times after spending hours online, it just tells me i have lost contact with the update server. is it that my internet connection is slow or something?

truth of the matter is u are right in most of ur comments. i'm not tryin 2 justify wat d FG or d militants ar doing, but i'm fortunate 2 hav travelled to 35 states + d FCT and wit respect 2 ur quoted comment i wont blame d FG for d lack of roads in d niger-delta. for example, bayelsa state gets almost 5 times wat jigawa state gets in a mth. why cant they hav good roads like jigawa?

one thing though i feel is not right is dat d FG shuld also force d northern states 2 b more productive on their own cos they solely depend on FG for allocations. i also agree that nigerians dont like d truth cos even though their may b a little propaganda in CNN, nigeria wasnt d only country touched in dat documentary. fortunately, i watched d documentary live and i felt bad about d whole thing.

in a nutshell, i just feel dat we culd also examine wat dose niger-delta leaders actually do wit their allocations

my comment (which is not up for debate) is that military men DO PAY TAX!

Having said that & with all due respect to the matter at hand, i wish nigerians could dedicate such vigor in terms of airspace, newspaper posts & nairaland threads, to the prevailing power situation in the country, probably by now the much acclaimed & awaited state-of-emergency would hav been declared!!

i dont know d difference exactly, but the connection is from the fone to d usb port of my laptop directly, d same type of cord supplied wit fones like motorola razr or nokia fones. so how do i know if its a serial to usb converter? thanx man!

yeah a shell account is supposed to b in this section. A shell account is a personal account that gives a user access to a Unix shell on another machine, usually through ssh (and historically telnet.) With a shell account one can log into a remote server and run commands on it. It is very useful when one wants to try out another operating system, to get more out of IRC

please i hav a prob with connecting to the internet with my starcomms usb phone. i know that this issue has been overfloggd in this thread cos i hav read almost all the solutions provided but my ubuntu simply doesnt detect my phone. i tried the methods in the ubuntu wordpress also given by bigrovar & wale but no luck.

i've also checked out the method uspry! gave in her ubuntu 8.04 tutorials and the tutorial mimoh gave earlier on this thread in 2006, but i dont even seem to make the OS detect my usb fone. i also attempted a method i got on another site online by attempting to use vi to configure also no luck. all in all sha, i'v been browsing smoothly wit my vista ultimate. i'll really appreciate any help i can get frm the house. the phone is a Haier D1200P starcomms enabled.

iv been ffg ur discussion wit great interest. d lecture at d beginnin of d thread was apt. i finished my masters in ife eee 2005, & i had a 1st clas frm another university. but u know i cant deny d fact dat apart frm the God element , d " been gifted" factor also comes 2 play, cos wen i started sch i didnt even know wat a 1st class was. fortunately, pple were making noise about my GP, so i realisd there was a big deal about a 4 point. i really got d idea wen many of those in 4 pts started dropping out by d next semester. on d whole, i didnt really put d effort dat most ppl did.

wat kind of vista is ur client on?

also, d problem could be from d network card driver, but by the way are u tryin 2 connect via wireless or ?

check the network card driver & probably u may consider reinstallin, but most importantly when operating vista, u may take it as a rule dat vista updates can in most cases cause harm to ur system rather than good so form the habit of creating restore points and turn off ur automatic vista updates while u are at it!

why do we keep on mammering on " i am legend", i think that film is just silly, burrin & full of hype!

dear nairalanders, i have a toshiba satellite pro laptop for over a year but iv never used its wireless connection, recently i tried 2 go online wireless but it wont connect to the network, so pls i need help!!

the wireles network adapter detects the network, & the device manager says my adpter is running perfectly, and the network is unsecured cos all my friends can connect.

so far i'v tried 2 download d driver 2 reinstall but i cant do that from d site.

im using an atheros AR5005g wireless network adapter on a windows xp OS.
