I think the governors in the East since 1999 have mostly been a bunch of thieves and rogues rigged into power, from Kalu to Theo, from Mbadinjuju to Ohakim.

What about Delta and Bayelsa states? They had governors arrested by the British for money laundering, and one is still roasting in jail.

And the North? They have a handful of states under military occupation as we speak.

We know the states where the majority are Igbo are nothing ride home about, but during Biafra and even during the regional setup, those days were better and development was unmatched.

Ibadan has virtually not changed for 30 years, and if you look at Ogun state, ABia State, Ebonyi, and a host of others, you have to wonder, are the governors actually governing or holding the people hostage as if to carry out a script?

Gbenga Daniel did absolutely nothing as governor in Ogun state, Orji Kalu and Udenwa nothing for their states, Odili and Attah nothing, and many of those northern governors, including Yar Adua in Katsina at that time, only "introduced" sharia law and nothing more.

Yet we all keep quiet and think e go betta and that's it.

After watching that disgraceful video of our disgraceful governors during the NGF meeting, I know that they should not just be suspended, but sacked and the states dissolved and merged back to the regional or a regional setup.

Although the governor is not the greatest thing that's happened to this part of the world, the small that he's doing is near international standard, from library, to stadium, to airport. Most, if not all the governors are looting the peoples bank and leaving 1950's building around and calling it development.

All those hotels, yet not one is even world class. What happened to Ohakim's Oguta Resort? Wasn't money approved for that project?

I believe you are correct here. I want to add, whether you agree or not, that those small cultural differences tend to manifest itself in national politics. For example, many Yoruba dont see it a problem if a woman gives birth to kids from different guys, or rather, they wouldnt lynch her. But in traditional Igbo society, Igbo people frown on those things and are willing to sanction the lady.

Take that scenario and add governors to that mix, where a Yoruba governor and Igbo governor know fully well that they are more qualified than one Hausa to get the ticket of a party for election, yet the Hausa man "emerges" as candidate. Igbo man would want to challenge the situation, but a Yoruba would think about his estates, his cars coming from London by next week, the babes coming to the next Owambe party, and that he fights with Igboman, he may not even get far.

So Igbo people need to rethink their strategy, and frankly, its not by closing ranks with Hausa just for the sake of closing ranks. I dont think Azikiwe's romance did any good for the people enslaved in this country.
