onimcee1: you can not stand on existing protocols as none was probably in existence. below are some definitions of the term"PROTOCOL", none of them defines it as the dignitaries in an event. 1. the official procedure or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions. 2. the original draft of a diplomatic document, especially of the terms of a treaty agreed to in conference and signed by the parties. 3. a formal or official record of scientific experimental observations. 4. a set of rules governing the exchange or transmission of data between devices. If how you greet we greet ourselves in another man's language is not acceptable by such a man, then we shouldn't do it. many Africans speak pidgin English, does that make pidgin English acceptable or correct? Come on! That phrase ("all protocols observed" or "standing on existing protocols" ) is used mainly by subsequent speakers at a function when the first speaker must have acknowledged the presence of all dignitaries.
Besides that it's not a practice in UK or USA does not make it wrong.

OP, try and paragraph your article for easy reading.
People talk about marriage as "sacred, holy, everlasting" and you wonder how that is possible for something that is earth bound.
Saying the husband is the Spiritual head of the family is a lie and misleading, else how do you explain the role of Prophetess Deborah, "virgin" Mary, and all the women that have fought and won spiritual battles for their families?
I thought Jesus being the head makes the husband and wife the body in spiritual matters.
As for attending same church, it's just for convenience, because there is no place it's stated such is a criteria for spiritual evolution. |
Christianity Etc › Atheist: A Voice In The Wilderness? by menxer(op): 11:03pm On Apr 01, 2017*. Modified: 10:25pm On Apr 04, 2017 |
In a world controlled and dominated by organized religion, the "atheist" becomes "the voice in the wilderness."
Calling for a change in the attitude and practices of the people meant there was an element of disbelieve and discontentment in the status quo prompting a desire for a new order and thus the call by John the baptist.
I doubt if John would have been inspired to call for a change if he was comfortable and eating fat from the status quo. It won't be a stretch of the imagination to see the materialistic tendencies and excesses that he denounced by his lifestyle.
Was he affiliated to any religious organization? Did he profess a belief at variance with the mainstream belief system?
Sometimes I see people with organized-religion-non-conforming-opinion or belief branded as "atheist." And I wonder how/why we celebrate Jesus who asked the priests of his day questions they couldn't answer, who prolly held different opinion about certain aspects of their organized system of worship and beliefs, but brand those that question some things in our religious doctrines and practices as "atheist."
We are told the law was made and given to the Jews and that we are gentiles, saved and living by the grace of Jesus Christ, yet we are required and made to pay tithe, a precondition to enjoy God's blessings under the Law. Why?
We are told, "our God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob;" and we celebrate and build doctrines on the fact that Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek, high priest of the most high God, (a non-Jew, an alien?)
We are told that why we pay tithe is because it predates the law, but so is Polygamy or Incest. So?
And if I draw the conclusion that the Jews (descendants of Abraham) were not the only people that knew, worshiped or had access to the Most High God, I will be given a label. Yet we forget that Melchizedek was not a High Priest in isolation, but with a people and followers. Who were his people and followers?
We are made to believe that every other people in the bible, except the Israelites, were pagan Idol worshippers, including the followers of Melchizedek?
I purposely left out citing Bible verses knowing my audience are well-versed in it. freeze001: This is not a blanket statement but a factual one:
It beggars belief that there will be more work to be done in one Lagos than in the 11 states of the SS/SE. How is that possible unless there is a deliberate effort to keep the region underdeveloped while the bulk of the fund is drawn from the same region? If something is shared on based on region, Lagos is not one. The breakdown I mean is, those projects may not be strictly in Lagos state alone but may cut across other states in the region though passing through Lagos. Some one listed some priority projects up there, and more than one project are in Lagos but does not end in Lagos. |

freeze001: The comparison was between the 11 states of the SS/SE and the one state of Lagos. I am sure there are way more than 20 million people in the entire old Eastern Region and also more infrastructural needs in 11 states put together than in one. Last I checked, an even spread was always a better option than over concentration in a small area. Last I check, Clark made a blanket statement, without a breakdown of the projects in Lagos state and the ones in SE/SE he is referring to. |

sarrki: ... The categories are from priority ONE to FOUR...
PRIORITY ONE
The projects under Priority 1, are termed as "national priority projects", are projects on critical economic routes on the federal road network.

The problem I see is the interpretation given to the Hebrew word translated "maiden." A maiden does not necessarily mean a Virgin but a young woman or girl.
Just like when the Bible uses the phrase "Adam knew Eve" to mean sex, same can be said of "spirit of God came on Mary" to mean sex.
If the "sons of God" had sex with women, why make excuses for "God?" Or how do you know that the "spirit of God" that came on Mary was not one of the "sons of God." |
