what greed are you fooling yourself with,? Zoning is between North and South, and Norths have produced two President from Northwest fulani from Katsina, when it comes to South, all southerners would contest in a free and fair primary election, and everybody would show what his made off and who are thier allies...

Ibos may rever El Rufai , but to us he is just a newbie politician who got his big break under Obasanjo and Atiku, he has no power over any political party and even lost mere Governors Forum Election
To us El Rufai is mediocre and a very immature politician. He does not respect diversity. He wants all Kaduna to be muslim or at least have Islam as state religion. He wants all indigeneous Chiefdoms to be reclassified as Emirates. This lack of sensitivity to diversity endears him to Ibo and they view him as a hero.

Its no surprise! Ibo has never tolerated diversity in its culture. Osu discrimination...they fail to ackowledge their muslims....girls do not have right of inheritance to their father's estate....they sack each other from civil service for being drom different state.....they denied Bianca right of eligibility to run for Anambra State Senatorial because she is indigene of Enugu....

To us Yorubas we love diversity. So people like El Rufai are seen by us as dangerous and irreponsible.

Tinubu is not from Lagos.

He is a Muslim and a current president is also a Muslim.

People in the know have always said Tinubu will lose if he contest. That will be beginning of his fall.

Again, if you want to divide votes of the South, get someone else.

Nigerians are wiser now than pre 2015 and 2019 was harder for Buharis than 2015. 2023 will be more harder. Don't make that mistake.

Get someone else.
There are two schools of political thought in Yorubaland.

1. Awo class
2. Tinubu class.

Tinubu himself is a product of Awo class of political thought, and with touch of modernity has churned out new products of political leadership.

All the current State Governors in SW are using his template. Add Kwara State Governor. Out of all them so far Gov Abdulrazaq of Kwara leads performance, followed by Governor Sanwo Olu of Lagos.

All the past Governors of SW used Tinubu template except Mimiko who used the Awo template.

In Buhari Administration no less than 10 Executives - VP, Ministers and DGs are in the Tinubu class.

How do you hope to nominate anyone from SW outside the Tinubu cycle of influence?

Tinubu does not need to be in Presidency, his template will be used to run the Presidency.

Northerners choose Obasanjo even when Buhari came in 2003, they choose MKO against Tofa, NorthCentral gave Jonathan Vote over Ribadu, Buhari and Atiku in 2011 so which northerners are we talking about or the same northerners like Yaradua senor that gave his life to fight abacha over abiola?
These people are eyeing the same post in 2023. The energy they spend spinning fantasies of a Northern power they could expend on a thread promoting Igbo choice and brand for 2023.

and the northern politicians will fold their hands and watch this happenings...

it's like you don't know the northerners...power is all they've got.

just watch how the billion van case will be revisited by the EFCC in no distant time...
North does not have real power. North has mythical power. They hide behind military infrastructures to propagate a false sense of power.

We live at a time in which military hardware and infrastructures are no longer invicible to remote exploitations.

The highest of level of military arsenal and power is in Jaji, Kaduna State. Bokoharam breached security at Jaji and caused some its leadership to flee for cover. It has broken into many barracks and entered into armoury and confiscated weapons. Even fulani bandits with ordinary AK47 are facing and wiping out Army dispatches.

So the myth of Army power still exist but in a face to face battle Army is weak and vulnerable, infact its a shock to me that they did not suffer fatality during python dance. But it is easy to understand why.

Many Southerners are the victims of mind control by Northerners who use the threat of military to retain power. They need to do so, otherwise Southerners will break loose and take their oil and coastal ports with them, leaving North in perpetual economic woes.

As we speak Zamfara is distributing money in millions to bandits, every month. What does Zamfara contribute to the windfall it is gifting out? Oil money.
So they remind Southerners every so often that if tou dont do what we want we will send Army to come after you. The Southerner on his part believes it and fears that North has power.

In reality there is no power in North.

Power in modern times is access to cybersecurity, economic control and political discipline.

North does not possess any of these. So stop fearing them. The Army they depend is useless. If you carry gun and the Army knows that you carry gun they will be very careful not to anger you. They persecute and treat you shitty because they know when they come for you there is no counter-attack force to stop them.

Get a gun so you can free yourself from the fear of Northern power.

So the problem is not the foreigners, it is the non enforcement of already laid down laws that has caused the breach, you see the ball comes back to the host.
We haven't derailed the thread, we are only exploring reasons other tribes won't push an Igbo Presidency in 2023.
In my honest opinion, I believe the Igbo nation have a lot of work to do if they really want to actualize this dream and not just pay lip service.
I already highlighted for you examples of what we view as rebellion and culture-unfriendly. Do Yoruba in SE need reminders to respect host? Do they need reminders in North to respect hosts? No!

It is redundant to expect Yoruba to put its customs and social norms on banners warning people dos and donts of social living in SW.

We heard of some children kidnapped in Kano and trafficked in SE. How do people not know that such acts are socially disharmonious? Kidnap in your own region. When you go to a foreign land do not kidnap. When you go back to your home feel free to return to kidnapping.

Are you saying such expectations of communal interaction need to be taught?

Sorry, Yoruba does not want our people in North or East to be taught anything....we are already taught charity and practiced it before leaving home. It remains with us while we sojourn with you in your towns and cities.

This is what we expect of others coming to live with us.

Igbo do not have what it takes to secure 2023 presidency. They have clearly indicated they are not interested in a competition, they are looking for it to be gifted.....which would never happen.

Just because people live and work in lagos should not make them susceptible to Tinubu.
Do you mean "support" Tinubu?

Ogunlewe is correct.
Many commercial activities in Lagos are operated as monopolies. The State and LG has power to enforce anti-trust Laws and break up the monopoly of Northerners in the lucrative keke and okada operations. If the State went to that extreme okada and keke will be regulated. For every 1000 licenses issued 50% ownership and operation must be SW, the remaining 50% will be shared at 10% per zone. Put the new SW Security Corps to manage the service and its enforcement.

Free education for SW indigenes only. Non-SW indigenes are to pay for secondary and higher learning.

Change tax brackets - SW indigenes to file for yearly tax refunds. Non-indigenes exempted.

There are many policies that could be implemented to penalize lack of allegiance to SW.

Like Ogunlewe said, we Yorubas are the leadership of Nigeria.

Like what is so special? grin
Yoruba will work behind scene to achieve results. No one will ever know until a stranger see and bring the achievement into limelight. This is their element.

If Yoruba make noise about anything it doesnt go far....it doesnt even reach Ghana. However, when they are silent...the impact of their queitness can be felt even in space.

God has not given Igbo the fruitfullness of silence. Their blessing lies in making noise....and their noise carries far. Igbo can just say one word and it can be irrelevant but it would be heard and repeated in every country in the world. However, their noise has no impact even though it echoes around the continents.

Example -
Do you know how many tankers had spilled fuel and the explosion so combustible that it wiped out lives, properties and businesses in a flash? In fact some communities have not had one but two, three of such infernos....yet it hardly went beyond RIP for the victims.

Onitsha had a fuel spill that gutted property, lives and businesses like anywhere else....it turned into national tragedy.

Ibo has the gift for using noisemaking to hold govt to bend to its needs. The channels of backdoor horse trading, out of view and out of hearing negotiations, does not produce meaningful result for Ibo like noise can.

The second niger bridge is Ibo baby, it has been nursing this baby since 1970. All we can do is tolerate Ibo noise when they feel like giving us earful. Many a times their vuvuzelousness is comical. Enjoy it!

The hullaballoo about 2 niger bridge is just Ibo in its element and having need to pump out noise into the airwave.

Every region in Nigeria is guilty of this settlement mentality so don't make it look like it's a new thing.
What is typical is to ask compensation for the land govt wants to acquire for a project.

Next, the labour for the job will be localized, in other words direct hires in the communities the project is located or passes through.

The third angle is contract for logistics and the supply chain. This will also be allocated to local indigenes.

What people in other regions dislike is when Yoruba is given contract in Jos for a local work content. When Ibo is given contract for local work content in Lagos. When Hausa wins contract bid for a local project in Onitsha.

So these are your typical grievances and protests.

Yoruba never stop work on a construction site simply because the money is not shared. Dont mix it up.

We focus on the end goal and the benefit of the infrastructure to our communities.

The report here is not typical because the contractors and labour is all local and indigeneous. They are just not content that 2billion naira is going to steel and cement when instead it should be in their hands. They want to direct the project.

In the past that was done. Govt give the project management to the leaders in the area to get the bridge done. The contract was renewed in every Administration since 1970. What happened? No bridge!

Jonathan paid your leaders to build it...they shared the money.

Buhari has refused to give to them and put the project under FG supervision. Its making progress but no money is flowing for sharing and they see bridge will soon be completed. Something has to be done to get share money.... This protest and work stoppage is a sabotage.

Fg must order back to work or sack all of them and go recruit labor and contractors from neighbouring states. - Edo and Kogi.

Family › Re: Wife Battery: Should We Drop Police Case, Though He’s Threatening To Kill Her? by MetaPhysical: 5:01am On Oct 21, 2019
computergeek:
So I’ve never actually brought a personal issue to this forum, but this one is beyond me and I don’t know the best course of action to take here. I believe that there are people here who may have had a similar experience or might know what best to do. This may be a bit long.

So there’s this neighbor of mine whom I have an after-school agreement with. She’s a stay-at-home mum with two kids (a nursing baby and a four-year-old) while I have one child (also four). I usually leave my office at 4:00pm, so the agreement is, after-school at 12:30pm, I’ll go pick up the kids (they go to the same school) and return to work while she watches my son for me. I get my son his lunch and snacks before he goes there, even though she’s begged me to stop doing that, but I can’t saddle her with feeding a child that’s not hers.

The issue now is, a lot of violent things have happened in that house and as of this week, my son won’t be returning there. But I fear for the woman. Our homes are separated by a wall, but we often hear the arguing and crying sometimes. I knew she was having marital issues but I didn’t know the extent.

About two weeks ago, I went to get my son from the house and I noticed he wasn’t talking as usual. My son is the very boisterous type who likes to bounce as he walks, and he’ll usually try to take the key from my hand so he’ll open the door himself. That day, he wasn’t talking as usual. He seemed scared and shaken up. I knew the woman would sometimes punish the kids by asking them to kneel down when they fought, but she wouldn’t hit them. I asked him what the issue was, if anyone at school or home had been looking for his trouble, the guy said no.
He’s very close to his father (they are best friends), so when my husband came home I asked him to talk to the boy because he couldn’t choke his food down. After about a while, my son opened up. Apparently, he’d witnessed a very violent beating that he was struggling to find the right words to explain. He said that David’s father had been punching his mother in the passage with two hands at a time, and when she’d tried to run, he brought her back and beat her more. He said that he and David had to hide under the table because they were scared of getting hurt. He then said the mother raised a flower vase and hit him on his head, but the man continued beating her and shouting at her.

I didn’t know what to say. My son had witnessed a violent beating and it traumatized him. We soothed the boy and told him to forget about it. I then knew why the woman didn’t come out to hand him over as she usually did when I went to get him. He just came to me by himself.
The next day, I was skeptical about taking my son back there but he said he doesn’t want to stop playing with David and Sandra (the one-year-old baby). After school, I picked the boys up and drove them home. David’s mom came to the door and her face was badly bruised. I had to ask her what was wrong, but she hurriedly said she fell down and then took the kids from me.

On Friday last week, two days ago, the worst happened. It was around 3:00 or 3:30 when the woman called me at work. I picked the phone up and it was my son. He said that David’s mummy was lying on the floor and wasn’t opening her eyes. He said she was still moving but she couldn’t open her eyes. That blood was coming out her nose and mouth and their daddy had driven away. My heart literally flew out of my chest.

I called my husband as I was driving home and told him to meet us at the hospital. Long story cut short, she was badly battered and torn apart, almost about to give up life. I took her and all the kids to the hospital. While they were cleaning her wounds and hooking her up to the IV, I sorted out the bills. My husband tried to reach out to hers but he was rejecting the calls, so he went to make a statement at the area police command. They told us to contact them once she wakes up to give her statement. The police doesn’t usually like to dabble into marital issues but the woman was disfigured beyond imagination.

Sadly, you won’t believe what she said when she came to after a few hours. She started begging us to not report to anybody and not even call her family. That she’ll refund us the hospital bills and we should just call her friend that lives in New Haven to come and look after her. She was trying to protect the beast that had beaten her and left her for dead. We tried to reason with her because the man would certainly kill her sooner or later. She said he’s her husband and the father of her kids, bla bla bla. She told us that she’d been confronting him about a girl he’d been gallivanting openly with him, and that’s been the cause of all their issues.

She told me to use my number and call her husband because he doesn’t have me as a contact. I called him and told him the wife he tried to kill was in the hospital. He told me that she had better remain there because he’ll kill her if she ever comes near his house again. He hung up on me. She’s still insisting that he doesn’t mean it and she must go back once she’s discharged.

The issue now is, should we withdraw the police report or take the case up? The woman’s life is in danger and she doesn’t seem to understand the seriousness of her situation, writing it off as momentary anger. I don’t know why women choose to remain in these violent situations even when they have children to live for. She’s not even thinking about her one-year-old who has been with me all weekend.

Mature advice is needed here. Pease push to front page. I don’t know if we’ll be overstepping our boundaries by trying to help her.
