There is an underlying message in that statement. Osinbajo has knowledge and capacity to modify the constitution or use loopholes to circumvent it.

I wonder why too. Maybe, someone can tell us.
Fight or flee instinct.

North can fight, South cannot so we flee.

But when you flee from fight there are many other losses that accompany the defeat, very tangible losses like resource control, political dominance, security.

To use our own resource we kowtow and approach them in peace for approval. When they need our resource they demand it with threat and dishonor.

History has a way of repeating itself. By contesting against his benefactor, Osinbajo is allowing himself to be misguided and used. This was the same thing that happened to Chief SLA Akintola against Awolowo in 1960s. Definately, it is another season of betrayal.
No, you got it wrong.

Awo was a Yoruba leader foremost, also a party leader to Akintola, who allied with Bello to spite Awo in party politics. Thats where the betrayal came in.

Tinubu is not Yoruba leader, he is a Nigerian leader. He is a party leader but we don't know in what capacity. They both report to Buhari. There is nothing Osinbajo has done to betray Tinubu.

If Tinubu was a Yoruba leader I can see Osinbajo's action as an insubordination and a betrayal.

I don't buy into this idea of northern supremacy just like I don't buy into any idea of northern cabal. There are powerful individual across the entire nation who could be excessive if found in the corridor of power.

Having said that, and based on my experience in Nigeria politics, your illustration does not define what could come out of each character mentioned above.

Nigeria president at present is regarded as the most powerful in the world while the same constitution makes the position of the VP the most weakest, even HoR Speaker has defined role in the constitution and as such much legitimately stronger than a VP in Nigeria. So there is no fear whatsoever that a northern VP would usurp the power of president from the South.

What you guys term northern supremacy are just the advantages given to the north by the northern military through 1999 Constitution.

Southerner who seeks approval of the north is only doing that to win election and not out of any fear or northern supremacy.

But the North is the one that is afraid of the South, as they so much desire the unity of the nation than any other factor. That is the reason why they would support anyone that would guarantee such unity over their religion and tribe.

I don't think Nigeria needs an individual as strong as Fayose to make a powerful president. The constitution already make anyone who becomes Nigeria president a powerful person
I take issue with some of what you said.

On paper, yes, the constitution bestows a lot of power on the president. In practice, the occupant derives power from a tradition tied to the gun barrell and the green uniform.

Review a list of presidents from this so called 1999 constitution to date and reflect on their capacities to wield power within, and "beyond", statutory authority. You will see what I mean and how it is in stark contrast to your view.

Obasanjo had tradition with the barrell, so did Atiku the VP. If Atiku was paired as VP with any other Southerner but Obasanjo he would bully and dominate his boss, irrespective of what you said about the VP position being the weakest.

Jonathan did not want to relieve General Ihejirika from his position as Chief of Army, Arewa pressured him to do so. It did not take too much to convince him to hand over to Buhari even when it was clear that poll tabulations were moved in favor of Buhari and he could easily, as incumbent, call for recount or go to court. The threat of bloodshed influenced his decision to yield. Constitution was on his side, yet he gave up. Contrast that with death of YarAdua and the lot it took to get North to adhere to statutory rule so Jonathan vould succeed his boss.

Power on paper is different than power in practice.
North controls barrell, they monopolize power with it.

Nigeria is simply a contraption of lie that is bound to fail unless it is restructure.
The greatest factor that disqualifies a candidate is neither religion not ethnic factor, it is a sign that such person would restructure.

Tinubu belief in federalism is too obvious, his action as a state governor indicates how he will use power as a president, so he has to be stopped.

Now left with the option of a lesser evil in person of Amaechi and Osinbajo a person who could return APC and still retain the tie of lies. They are at a loss on what anger could push Amaechi to, because of his strong willed and temperament. That left them with a lawyer and a SAN, a profession that believes so much in Nigeria constitution than they would trust their heart beat, even if he restructure, they are convinced it would be within the framework of existing 1999 Constitution.

Yes, Osinbajo would carryout some reforms and restructures which the fraud constitution permits, but whether such reform would be enough to revive a dying country is what is yet to be seen
Let me take you through a imaginary scenario. It is not real but an illustration to show you prospects for some aspirants like Osinbajo, Amaechi, Fayemi, Obi, etc...

Imagine you have a boy born and bred in London and your son is getting ready to graduate primary school. You have choosen to bring to Nigeria for secondary school and expose him to his ethnic root and culture.

Somewhere in South Africa another parent has similar situation and wants to bring his son to Nigeria for secondary school.

In Ghana, there is a third man with similar thoughts and ambition for his son.

You see that son in London, that is representation of Osinbajo and Obi. The son in South Africa, that is representation of Wike. The son in Ghana, that is repeesentation of Ayo Fayose.

Now, you tell me, which of the three class is best fitted to hit the ground running and will not take any nonsense from any bully. Of course Fayose!

The education value and standard between London and Nigeria is so vast that you could not simply migrate a student from London to Nigeria without some serious trauma and psychological damage. The Ghana student on the other hand is at parity, the migration for him is like just a move from one school district to another.

I said this somewhere else on a different post, it is worth repeating here. Osinbajo is a misfit for Nigerian leadership. The politics of Nigeria after Buhari will be very caustic.

First, the VP will come from North. Southerners will not have input in who that will be. It will be completely up to North to select and present a VP. I assure you their selection will be a dominant individual and with a counter temperament. He will be a strong advocate and supporter for Sharia and expansion. He could also be ex-military, which would then impose a double dominance. The VP could undermine the Commander in Chiefs authority with military chiefs of staffs and overshadow his policies on security. In fact, President Osinbajo could end up with chiefs selected for him, and not the one he wants. We witnessed this with President Goodluck Jonathan.

They will undermine his administration in ways they could not if Fayose was a President in similar circumstance. They will think twice before testing Fayose because he is a fit where Nigeria currently is.

It would have been well and fine if Osinbajo or Obi were coming right after Obasanjo administration. Buhari is leaving behind a Nigeria at war, it would take a warrior to step in after him.

Remember that Fayose established anti grazing law and arrested fulani herders and threatened to arrest their leaders in Ekiti. They backed off. No governor was able to stand up for his people and challenge North the way Fayose did. If Igboho had come out when Fayose was governor, fulani would not dare humiliate him the way they did.

Osinbajo could preside over countries like South Africa, Kenya, Morrocco....but places like Nigeria, Libya, Sudan, Congo, are not a fit.

Politics › Why do Southerners seek approval of Northerners? by MetaPhysical(op):
Beginning in 1999 we went into a binary arrangement that is not backed up constitutionally.

When North is President, South is not.
When Christian is President, Muslim is not.
No single side of the variable will run a cycle concurrently beyond the statutory term.

We have pretty much settled into this binary arrangement between the two divides and assume, in the least, it is the answer to unification of Nigerians and their peaceful coexistence. In reality, it is a mere arrangement of tolerance. It is just a lifeline to hold it together and permit a continuous debauchery and savagery of the cash cow until there is no more value stream left in her to monetize, and the abandonment can complete.

To give you a concrete picture of what is being done to Nigeria I am going to use President Umaru YarAdua and the way in which they compromised his death to loot treasury.

First, those in close quarters to him knew YarAdua will not live long. His VP, Jonathan did not have a clue because YarAdua was kept in a cocoon. All the policies and budgetary items through the Presidency had been hijacked.

It is not customary for a muslim woman, and particularly Northern muslim woman, to engage herself in public affairs while in mourning period. Mrs YarAdua had just transitioned from First Lady to a widow, and instead of mourning her husband death she was preoccupied with Presidency and succession battle. How callous!

Along with her, the inner circle went on a frenzy with abuse of power. If it was not for the uprising in South Northerners would have returned the country back to the inglorious days of Abacha.

To remind you, every stage at which Nigeria had been put at ruin and endangered a Northerner was the head. Southerners are boxed in to play a hero....a savior, the one foolishly disillusioned into belief that God called him to save Nigeria from the destructive schemes of the North.

This was the case with Babangida, same with Abacha. It was the case with YarAdua and now same in time of Buhari. They have nothing to loose, but everything to gain from a sustained Nigeria. So they truly don't care. They ruin it, their slaves in South will keep it together and going.

Southerners on the other hand have everything to loose in Nigeria. Their soil feeds and keep Nigeria fat.

Instead of salvaging Nigeria from the destructive acts of Northerners, why not Southerners focus strength in their own ethnic unity and their own development? Example, SE has gas, oil, fertile soil. What does it need from Nigeria? SW has maritime commerce, oil, gold, fertile soil, why can it not stand alone as a sovereign? SS has oil, gas, marine agriculture, maritime commerce, why is it not trading those resources with other sovereign nations? Why do Southerners need approval from North to trade their commodities?

So now we are getting ready to reaffirm that approval. We Southerners are prearing for 2023 so we can once again approve continuation of Nigeria for the masters up North, our landlords, to enjoy the endowment of their fore fathers.

Unfortunately for unity beggars like Tinubu, the binary arrangement is not in his favor on this cycle.

For Tinubu to be eligible, the arrangement must be thrown open. Which means a muslim can succeed a muslim, a christian can succeed a christian, a northerner can succeed a northerner, likewise a southerner can do same and come in behind a southerner. Infact, such arrangement can see a Northern President and a Northern VP in single administration. There will be no limitation to how you can combine....it is no longer a predictive binary.

My guess is Northerner will use the approval to stay in power indefinitely succeeding one another, and we will have new generation of unity advocates in South who will endorse it and continue to give it approval.

A Northerner has already disclosed that their rulership and domination is in effect even from behind the scene as a VP to a Southerner. This is true.

Those who love Tinubu tell him he will not win this fight. He stepped aside and put Osinbajo forward in 2015 because he was told a muslim/muslim will not be accepted. In 2023 the binary arrangement should not be disrupted. A muslim must not succeed a muslim. If Tinubu remains in the race, it is because he believes he has merit and not because he is next on the rotation table. Symbolically he is agreeing with Northerners that say it is time to do away with rotation and adopt merit.

Merit in North means a Northern muslim is in power and is pro-sharia. Very different from how Southerner see merit.

In regards to this I would like to run a mock poll on this platform just to have a glimpse of what people thinks about their candidates and who might be closer to the seat.
The mock poll will be on notable or porpular individual/candidates who has declared interest in the two major political platform currently in Nigeria (APC and PDP) it’s based on candidature, this is to remove or minimize sentiments.

If APC zone presidency to South, VP will go to Borno definitely. In such arrangement Borno will loose eligibility to Preside over 10th Senate.

It was Ali Ndume's turn to preside when 9th Senate came in but because Saraki rigged himself in during ,8th Senate, Ndume was pacified to yield to Lawan.

President - South
VP - North
Senate - NE
House - SE
CoS - S

CoArmy Staff - NW
CoAir Staff - NC
CoNaval Staff - SW
IGP - SE

So it is very clear why Ndume has attached to Amaechi at this early stage.

1. Tinubu paid consultation visit to Gov Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.

a - Bagudu was a conduit Abacha used to ship abroad money he looted from federal treasury.

b - Bagudu left PDP to form nPDP and then moved into the newly formed opposition party, APC. He became governor on platform of APC.

c - Bagudu is allied and working in tandem with Attorney General Malami, Gov Matawalle of Zamfara, Gov Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa, ex-Gov of Borno Alli Modu Sherriff (who once threatened to slap Tinubu), to name a few.

d - the team in c have strategies to create dominant/supremacy heirarchy in APC, it will result in the ascending order of CPC, ANPP, APC, APGA. This strategy has been in effect post 2019 election. It will mature and succeed Buhari in 2023.

2. APC Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu was formally presented to the President in Aso Rock.

a - APC powerful stakeholders and Chieftains like Tinubu, Akande, were not present at the formal presentation & recognition of Abdullahi Adamu as Party Chairman in Aso Rock.

b - upon exiting Aso Rock after his formal reception with Buhari Adamu immediately declared this to press "for Presidential primary, we will use any available option".

c - APC has a NWC. This statement to use any available option did not come from the NWC but delivered unilaterally after consultation between Buhari and Adamu, with Buni present.

d - Adamu is fond of using a new found expression lately "our father", in reference to Buhari as party leader.

e - Adamu or the NWC is yet to meet with VP, another leader of the party, not with Tinubu and Akande, both stakeholders and leaders of party, not met with Okorocha, stakeholder and leader of party.

3. Buhari travels to UK for 20days vacation.

a - in past events, and on record, Buhari takes a trip out just before a political conflict erupts in his party.

b - if Buhari is abroad when it happens, loyalists fly to meet him overseas and get directives on what direction the party should go. His order is binding.

c - the decision to use "any available option", direct primary, indirect primary or consensus will lead to confrontation between factions. "Our father" will decide from London.

Sheikh Nuhu Khalid has reacted after he was suspended and then sacked as the Chief Imam of the Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque because of the sermon he delivered, criticising Nigerian leaders over insecurity in the country.

On Friday, April 1, Sheikh Khalid spoke about the government's failure to handle insecurity in the country.

He also criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for failing to visit Kaduna after the train attack and added that Buhari condemning the attack wasn’t enough.

He argued that the President was in Kaduna for campaign but refused to visit the state after the bomb attack.

He then suggested that Nigerians should not vote if the authorities fail to protect their lives.

He had said while preaching on Friday, April 1: "Nigerian masses should resort to only one term which is – protect our lives, we will come out to vote; let us be killed, we will not come out to vote, since it’s only elections that you people know."

Following his sack, Sheikh Khalid said that what he said about Nigerian leaders "was never wrong".

He added, "If it's a sin to ask for secured Nigeria, I'm ready to go to hell."

Watch him speak to Channels TV in the video below.
