The UK Government has announced that it will not grant asylum to members of terrorist groups in the Eastern part of Nigeria like IPOB.

While they described IPOB as a terrorist group which has been proscribed by the Nigerian government, MASSOB was designated as 'banned' but not a terrorist group.

Aahh aah, UK won't grant asylum ke?? Did IPOB ask them for asylum?

Ibo people are not that crazy about going to UK anyway, their preferred destination Is US and Canada. Infact, there are far more Ibos in Eastern Europe than in UK.

You have said it all Cantonese. Tinubu urchins make it look like the presidency is Tinubus birthright. Even the north have severally told them that they gave buhari only 500k votes comparatively, but they are not listening.

Buhari has more than compensated Tinubu for the alliance.
Appointing his boys into positions where they can steal to recoup what they spent and more. Awarding mouth watering contracts to him

Many don't know that tinubu is behind most massive federal government contracts across Nigeria. Buhari has more than compensated him.

Most importantly, it's a power play going on.
Buhari will not be retiring to daura due to insecurities, he may run to London or Dubai. A tinubu presidency would ensure the last vestiges of his administration were wiped out and never to be remembered because Machiavellian Tinubu will not share his spotlight with a universally acclaimed failure who sidelined him after helping him to power.

Buhari will surely emasculate tinubu politically before he retires for his own self preservation.
I missed your comment yesterday or you would have received a reply from me.

I am a social commenter, not a fan of any candidate, not even a fan of one Nigeria. I attempt to correct wrongdoing and do so by speaking up to awaken people.

There is nothing as Buhari compensated Tinubu with appointments. That's a ridiculous statement originating from low level intelligence. I expect you to know better but I'm surprised to hear you post the absurd statement here. I will dispute the thought here.

Buhari does not own APC, the party is jointly owned. There is a formula the party uses to allocate spoils of victory and this is done in acknowledgement of the founding, in its beginnings with the merger of multiple parties. So it is wrong to say Buhari has compensated Tinubu with ministerial appointments. That's an obligation on him, what he must do...not what he chooses to do.

On the strength of victory, I told someone yesterday, I will repeat here, that political strategists do not forecast victory for candidates in terms of votes. Forecast is done using strengths of the candidate. Since the strengths of candidate is primary to his/her victory at the polls, the vulnerabilities of the opponent is also key. No strategist worth his professional credit will use number of votes to calculate victory for his client. Votes are the manifest of how a strategists has succeeded, or failed, in selling his candidate to voters.

If as you say, SW only contributed 500k votes to Buhari, a figure so ridiculous it is not worth a dispute, this would be a failure on Buhari' campaign manager to penetrate SW with convincing reasons Buhari is a better candidate than opposition. Still, even with 500k outturn, the sharing formula of the party must be adhered to, and this adherence is what illiterates call "compensation".

It's full of wisdom and I've asked exactly the same question with my alternative account before. Great minds think alike they says.

I know your prayers were with me during this trying time. We will crush every evil that ever raise it's head sooner or later, we're children of courage, with it we've mount up with wings like the eagle.

Thanks to God that I passed through great spirits like you in my formative years. I'm always proud of you sir. We've given the best of ourselves in those years.

Future is both ways.

May RodihAllah wa taAllah be with us.
Amen, my brother. Indeed!

The interaction we built and the knowledge we shared took its own identity of force, independent of the contributing entities. That third force, I believe, acted as a spiritual facilitator of sort. New and unbroken knowledge, indisputable, were popping out and revealing themselves, along with meaning and interpretation. Barriers of language formulas were broken and what we did not know when the sun set the previous night were awakened with us at the break of a new day and horizon.

I will repeat the exercise if the chance ever presents itself again.

God bless you brother!

While I maintain the position that Buhari has betrayed Tinubu, I do not give Tinubu a passage nonetheless.

Tinubu is to blame if he ended up not getting the APC flag or if by some acts of intrigue he gets the ticket and was railroaded by those he helped to victory.

Where partisanship is concerned I am anti-Tinubu.
When we talk of sovereingty, I am anti-Nigeria.

On what basis exactly should the APC zone the presidency to the SW?
Lol. I can't believe you ask the question.

NE and NC did not have the strengths needed for Buhari to win in both cycles. SW was the power house.

Honestly, if I were Tinubu I will invite Jonathan to nominate a candidate from SS to be my VP.

Since North is angling on converting Jonathan for a consensus vote, then throw it all open. South President with South VP, forget about partnership with North. In fact forget rotation at this point.

Next President must come from South and his VP must also come from South. That or we blow the fawckng country to oblivion and everyone can return to his father village and start over with a new republic.

CPC had massive support in all of North and Buhari prwtty much carried majority win in all states in North but this was only on Presidential election. Tinubu was not on the ballot, if he was Buhari will not win all of North.

Inspite of his 12million votes and winning NW, NE and much of NC, Buhari still failed to control victory in governorship and legislative elections in those states that voted overwhelmingly for him in Presidential.

He is weak politically. When he was pushed to wall he responded that Nigeria will witness bloodshed if he lost again. cheesy

Cantonese:
OP you make it all sound so as if Nigeria is a business partnership run between two partners, Tinubu and Buhari. Politics and power are not so simplistic as you think.

You projected ACN as the partner with the most important resources in the so called partnership that formed APC. Can you recall how many states ACN had going into that agreement with other parties, in this case CPC, nPNP, APGA, etc? Did you deliberately relegate the nPDP governors, who took their states and resources away from PDP in the SS, SE and the north to give APC the balance needed to defeat PDPat the center? Your comment gave relevance to the several claims that Tinubu pocketed already the resources of Lagos and made use of it to sponsor the APC campaign nationally to secure victory in 2015.

Did you deliberately overlook the fact that CPC controlled 13 states prior to the election and ACN controlled just 4 SW states going into the election. PDP lost seven states whose governors took the party structure along with them to found APC. How is it then that Tinubu contributed more than every other person? The fact cannot be removed from him about his idea to form APC, looking at the potential or havest of votes from the north with Buhari’s northern appeal. If the idea was not put up, PMB would not be the president today. But the fact remains that if other powerful political individuals did not consent, APC would not have defeated PDP.

Now what makes you think that it is the right of Tinubu to become the next president? There are many forces at work to make presidents. The first is God himself. Shagari was an unknown politician when he won the election in 1979, defeating political heavyweights like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo and Aminu Bello. GEJ never in his life dreamt of being the state governor, but you saw the occurrences that made him the president. There are therefore, other political interests in APC and PDP who covet that position. None of them has claimed it as their right, even within the APC.

Tinubu said the presidency was his “lifetime ambition”. Now you can see the greed and his reason for getting Buhari to give him the ladder in terms of northern votes to climb to Aso rock. Politics is about interests and not friendship. Tinubu himself acknowledges it and that’s the reason he has been traversing the northern states, seeing their governors and making emergency donations to known and unknown projects. All those are tailored to get him northern votes. But the northerners as acknowledged by you, do not want to relinquish power. That’s the tragedy of Tinubu’s myopic manouvre in 2014 to set up APC. The northern politicians intend to hand over to a southerner who can serve just one term and return power to the north in 2027.

Politics is about projections and calculations and you need to study situations deeply and make the right political arithmetics. Tinubu did not do his calculations right. He thought putting certain persons into positions of power would entitle him the presidency in 2023. Those same persons are greedy like him politically and without doubt politics and power do not recognize emotions. Betrayal is a common factor. Without betrayals Tinubu would not have attained his political height today. He betrayed several other people at other times. He keeps betraying and as a politicians he will never fail to betray. He knows that he is sorrounded by betrayers.

Buhari won the north on the basis of his northern appeal and the role of his northern friends cut across political parties. Tinubu helped in the SW. Others like Amaechi and Oshiomole, etc played their roles in the SS. Ngige and Okorocha, among other played their roles in the SE. Saraki, etc played their roles in the NC. Do you want to say that they did not contribute financially? How then does coming to the center with 4 states give Tinubu that entitlement spirit to the presidency? He knows himself that he must fight for it.

You his supporters, make it look as if the rest of the nation is against him. He always knew as a politician that there would be opposition even from the president himself. That makes him the politician that he is. That’s why he has surrendered himself to face others on Election Day. All you his supporters need to do is work had and appeal to supporters of other interested powers, showing the cogent reasons why they should support your principal.

Buhari has not betrayed Tinubu. He knows that he must be careful if he wants to leave Aso rock in one piece, with a few months to go. They are all politicians, let them play their games.
I don't have time for agbero argument.

I write on fact-based data. The following is indisputable evidence that after PDP, ACN was the next most powerful party. Tinubu went into the merger with upper hand. Facts speak!

APC was formed in February 2013. nPDP joined in November 2013. The likes of Saraki and Amaechi had zero input in the merger. Their contribution was only in campaign in 2014.

See result from 2011. Governorship and Legislative.
Do you not see ACN as the most powerful party after PDP?

Osinbajo becoming VP was involuntary and the result of diversity choice. The same diversity protocol that says the next President after Buhari must be a Christian. Muslims should not even contest primary in this cycle at all, if the agreement on rotation must hold. But if we need to walk away from that then all agreements on rotation should also go away.

It appears Tinubu did not calculate well in 2014 when he gave Presidency to Buhari. Tbe shortness of sight robbed him of VP position then, and also just about to deny him a turn at the Presidency in 2023.

If Osinbajo stepped down the parties will just find another Christian candidate. It is a violation of agreements to succeed a muslim with a muslim.

The contract of fraternal organization is cemented in trusts. In writing it serves as reminder, but it is in action that the spirit of brotherhood manifests its truth.

APC was formed as an alliance purposely to rescue Nigeria and steer it back into relevance and power.

I always observe events as a paradox of force and counter-force. To rescue Nigeria the paradox would be that the country was going into some ruin, and to return it into a position of power would suggest, in a paradox, that it had become vulnerable and weak.

The principal partners in APC formation consisted of four parties but one particular individual was by far more prominent and brought with him the highest equity the partnership could boast of. That person was Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his equity was ACN controlled States.

ACN ruled states that contributed over fifty percent of Nigeria's gdp by productivity and income, over thirty percent of sovereing revenue and more than a quarter of its population. No other party component in APC could attain close to the assets and manpower in ACN. Beside, ACN was also the opposition party in national congress and held the minority leadership seats in both upper and lower legislative house.

If anyone had the power and resources in 2014 to correct the problems of weakness and decay in Nigeria, only two people qualified and they were both Southerners. The two of them sat on oil and mercantile incomes which when combined controlled Nigeria's economic survival. Goodluck Jonathan from SS and Ahmed Bola Tinubu from SW were the two most viable rescuers and captains capable of steering Nigeria to power and greatness. Politically, President Jonathan, head of ruling party PDP, and Tinubu, head of opposition party ACN, failed to see their own relevance and power and took partisan politics too far, became antagonists to one another's interests.

The result of this antagonism produced APC. Instead of going into alliance with Jonathan from oil producing economy, Tinubu forged alliance with a menace from North who had promised bloodshed if he did not win election. The alliance surrendered his mercantile economy in SW into the hands of the cow herder in North.

Without ACN and Tinubu, Buhari could never have won a victory at the polls and became President. It is critical that history recognizes Tinubu as the architect of Buhari's success at the polls, in 2015 and a repeat in 2019.

APC has vowed to remain power and continue to rule. Buhari ends his terms in 2023, as a honor Buhari should use power of incumbency to make sure Tinubu succeeds him in APC and in rulership. He can start that by giving consensus to Tinubu in the party primary and call others to rally behind him. He did it in Ondo governorship election when he supported Akeredolu, he did in Osun with Oyetola. Recently he made Abdullahi Adamu a Chairman of APC through consensus.

Adamu made public statement two days ago asserting that APC is yet to zone its presidency. Coming behind him, Angola Abdullahi of Northern Elders Forum also issued public statement that rotation is dead and 2023 is open to all. These are choreographed statements reinforcing Baba Ahmed's repeated claims that North is not interested in sharing power and they possessed the capacity to remain rulers perpetually.

Why has Buhari not spoken and countered APC Chairman, to reassure his partners in APC that it is SW that should produce candidate and indeed in the person of Ahmed Bola Tinubu?

Buhari is the one betraying Tinubu, not anyone else.

Tinubu supporters must focus on the double game Buhari is playing using party to echo interests of ethnic bigots in Arewa.

See, the OP is right in all he is saying. One of the reasons people still bury in their compound is because government doesn't have use for big hectares of land yet because they don't think development if not most of y'all claiming to own lands won't own cause property tax alone would scare you off. If government decides today to implore the British standard building, do you think it'd be built on waters? How then would we have a developed cities when everyone's only defense for our backwardness is that it's cultural to own lands forever as such its enough reason why other progressives shouldn't think development.

Check out Singapores housing structure, in 1979 Singapores housing was nothing to be compared to Nigeria also the standard of living but today would you say same of Nigeria and Singapore in terms of housing?

People were forced to flee their homes through government sponsored crisis thereafter occupying those places which forced everyone to rent houses, that way landlords would pay property taxes or people be forced to rent government own houses through their housing scheme; we are still living in 1979!.
Britain is a land of one language, one history, one root, one philosophy. Equity is balanced. Same for Singapore. Nigeria is an exception, we do not share root, history, language or philosophy. Land use law will not be equitable. Do not propose first class laws for a fifth class society, it will not work.

Epetedo in Lagos Island, created in 1850, was the first indigeneous community with urban planning and street grids. Following after that is Yaba, created in 1920s. After this comes Surulere in the 60s. All three are in Lagos.

Epetedo and Surulere have lost much of their grid structures to encroachments by greedy overnight developers with zero skills in community planning but the road networks and grids are still recognizable in Yaba.

Other communities with very early grid communities include Victoria Island (living quarters for colonials), Ikoyi (administrative quarters for colonials), Apapa (communities for refugees from Lebanon that were settled in Lagos, Indian merchants).

This is why Nigeria is such a fukcedd up country, it's only in Nigeria that you will here illiterates talking about religion in a democracy. First of all,I would like to educate this foolish writer of this post on the meaning of democracy which Nigeria practices and is enshrined in it's constitution. Democracy is a system of government whereby citizens elect their leaders based on majority votes and any qualified candidate is eligible to contest election. Democracy does not exclude people from contesting elections based on their race, gender or religion. For someone to believe that someone should not be voted for because he is a Muslim really shows how primitive this country is. I don't know the writer of this post but my guess is that he is from the Eastern part of Nigeria who are renowned for practicing what we call tribalism and religious bigotry to the fullest and that's probably why other parts of Nigeria are very reluctant to vote for anyone from that part of Nigeria. Shame on you.
A cockroach is smarter than you, judging from your comment.

A cockroach raises its feelers in the air and wave it around picking micro vibrations, it then analyses the signals trying to obtain facts to decide next steps in its kinetic movements. It will not advance forward out of its dark, hidden hole until it is sure of its chances against the risks in the open.

Ogbeni, you did not judge the risks of your response before you revealed yourself to me.

In societies generally, the practice of democracy is offset and angular to the ideals of democracy, the two are never coaligned on same axis. Ideals of democracy are great on paper, they are ideologies of a great society, and that's where they end; paper! When you step on the streets the practice of democracy become a function of emotion.

In algebraic terms a function is the behavior that a variable identity adopts as a result of its tie to the random behavior of another measurable identity. Example - "ideally" I would love my kite to fly high and soar into the distant clouds. But "in practice" how high my kite flies is a function of wind and water density (humidity).

The emotion of democracy is the practice that rule the choice people make in an election. In other words, people and their choice are functions of democratic emotions. Just like my kite, you can forecast the behavior but cannot predict its randomness in flight...all that depends on external forces beyond my control.

In Nigeria, your politicians beat the drum of ideologies and sell it to you. In their own circle they refuse to adopt these ideologies. Instead, they practice the emotions. You may be blind to see what is going on, and of course an easy target for their deception. Elevate your brain to that of cockroach level and stop revealing your position ahead of proper and accurate risk assessment.

Incoming Alaafin Will Inherit Late Oba Adeyemi’s Wives –Archbishop Emeritus, Ladigbolu grin

The Archbishop Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Most Reverend Ayo Ladigbolu, who is from the Agunloye Ruling House of Oyo Kingdom, has said that the new Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom will inherit the wives of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

In an interview with PUNCH, Lagbigbolu said he could not answer whether he was interested in becoming the new Alaafin or if any of his children were interested.

He said, “I have said this for the umpteenth time that my culture is me and that is what made me available to the church; my upbringing in the palace during the reign of Oba Siyanbola Onikepe Ladigbolu and Oba Bello Gbadegsin Ladigbolu II, and of course, my closeness to Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who just passed away.

You will see that most of my life has been lived within the palace or within the precinct of the palace. That is what enriched my ministry and what made me Ayo Ladigbolu. I cannot separate myself from the holistic embrace of my culture. But that doesn’t mean that I will tolerate paganism or anything that is not the way of God, like idol worshiping and so on. But my culture is me.”

Speaking on the late oba’s wives, he said, “The new king will inherit them and that is the tradition, but you know things are changing now. Once a woman is married to the Alaafin they are married forever to the Alaafin You know the circumstances of life are changing and we have to adjust to the changing trends.

“They are married to Alaafin and Alaafin is not a person but an institution. The new Alaafin will be responsible for their welfare because they are married to the institution and not just a person.

“That is why the question of who they belong to after the death of the Kabiyesi who married them did not arise. They belong to the Alaafin. But in the light of the prevailing circumstances we will have to adjust. That is my response.”

On approval the card is mailed to the address with open credit sometime as high as $10,000. Back then that was a lot of money. When they cant get apartment, they can copy key to mailbox belonging to an innocent resident and direct the mails there. They keep close monitor. People with clean, positive intent will normally not open mail addressed to a unknown name, even though it was delivered to their box. So they will toss it in trash. The criminal watching from nearby spot sees this and wait for opportunity to go in the trash, collect all tossed mails looking for name of his target victim.

Governor Dapo Abiodun did the crime in 1986. If he was not a governor he would do internet fraud in 2022. The two have same goal, except infrastructure is different. He is a thief. Imagine what he has been doing to Ogun State treasury since 2019, that are yet to come to light. He appointed an aide, Bidemi, who is in same calibre, a thief.

It is time we wise up, put a stop to Dapo Abiodun's interest to run for second term. He was not qualified for any public office in Nigeria but Tinubu sponsored his candidacy, they hid his criminal background from public knowledge. He must be disqualified now from holding any public office position.

When a public officer with academic forgery is discovered we boot them out of office. Why can't thieves be booted out? Turn against Abiodun's candidacy and not return him to office.

iwaeda:
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, has given a reason why the presidential aspirant was absent at the National Executive Council on Wednesday.

He gave the reason in a chat with our correspondent on Wednesday.

The PUNCH had reported that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) attended the meeting.

The President was joined by his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, other members of the National Working Committee, Board of Trustees and state governors.

Rahman said the APC constitution does not grant Tinubu permission to attend the meeting.

“Asíwájú is not a member of NEC. He is a member of the National Caucus. Members of NEC are the President, VP, Senate President, Speaker, State chairmen of the party and members of the national executives of the party,” he said.

The NEC meeting was attended by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and other principal officers of the National Assembly, APC governors and state party chairmen.

He showed up at a NEC meeting when Oshiomohle was Chairman and got some governors infuriated that they had to openly ask why he was there and he was forced to leave. He learnt his lesson from that and stopped showing up.

.Sagagi, in a welcome speech, requested the visiting presidential aspirant to, on behalf of Kano people, assist Dahiru who was languishing in jail.

Sagagi stated, “Kano is disturbed by a series of events that led to the conviction of our own Yunusa Dahiru, and we decried the inhuman treatment being meted out to him in jail. In the light of this, we request the governor to intervene on this matter so dear to us here in Kano State.”
The same constitution that say any Nigerian can live anywhere also allow for any criminal to be imprisoned anywhere in Nigeria. This is not about Kano people, its about Nigerians.
