Alright, I know what you all are thinking and that’s definitely one of the reasons why you should date a Calabar girl. My last writeup regarding why Yoruba Boys should be top of your list of guys to date got quite a few knocks but I guess people generally agreed they are the best (I’m one anyways!). This time around we’d be examining why you should date a Calabar girl- at least once before you’re out of the dating game and if you’re strong enough, you could wife her. By Calabar girl, we mean our Efik, Ibibio, Anang and northern cross riverian sisters. If you’ve been lucky enough like me to roll with any girl from these tribes, you would definitely attest to some of what I’m about to say. If not, well, you’d want to go all out for one at the tail end. Come along and let’s see what makes our Calabar girls tick. Attention And Time Well, one of the reasons I hooked up with my Calabar babe is that she was devoted when it comes to giving you time and attention. You might say this is a false generalisation but I’ve met quite a few and dated one. Do you want a girl that will answer to every of your whim and caprice? Then you know where to get her. Cooking Skills If you’re seriously into native dishes especially vegetable soups, you got your answer. Almost every Calabar girl can snatch any man with a proper meal of Afang, Edikan Ikang, Akpam kuko (permit my spelling) and pounded yam, semo or any of your favorite native carbohydrate rich meal. You’re guaranteed of never going hungry if you date one and be sure that you’d add enough weight (if you’re skinny) that people would ask what your secret is. Spoil You Silly According to my ex–Calabar babe and some of my Ibibio friends, young ladies from their tribe get tutored on how to be homely and be good wives. As such, they know how to take good care of their man. A typical Calabar girl would stroke your back as you eat to help aid digestion while ensuring everything is in place after you have a hard day. Talk about unexpected gifts, she knows how to kick in those surprises from time to time. Sex! Sex! Sex! Need I say more? Every guy has a fantasy of hooking up with a Calabar girl that would give him mind blowing sex simply because ‘Dem sabi do the thing well’. Sex is an essential ingredient of today’s relationship and marriage and if you want someone that would give it to you well, my Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom girls are up to the task. Strong This shouldn’t be a surprise as any girl with enough strength to go 10 rounds of sex at a stretch has got to have immense strength. Well, I’m not just saying strength for sex, I’m talking strength for other activities such as keeping your home clean and tidy. When you’re tired, she has the strength to back you up. You’re coming from a party where you both have danced out, she’s got the strength to drive you guys home. They’ve Got Your Back Always We all want someone who has got our backs and no one does it better than your Calabar girl. They would stick with you through thick and thin with little concern for how much you’ve got (if you’re still struggling) . She doesn’t even mind helping you out from time to time, provided you’re supplying her well in certain areas as well. That’s something you don’t buy in the marketplace. The only thing is just try to be faithful to her. You don’t want to get on her bad side, trust me. If you think there are more reasons to date a Calabar girl, abeg let me know, if you have a contrary opinion, still let me know. More are still to come concerning other tribes. In the meantime, why would you want to date that Calabar girl? http://www.metroparrot.net/2015/08/why-you-should-consider-dating-calabar.html cc: lalasticlala ishilove |

Pinnick was notified of his appointment by a letter from FIFA’s secretary-general, Jerome Valcke. The letter read: “We are very pleased to inform you that you have been appointed as a member of the Organizing Committee for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Please accept our sincere congratulations on this nomination.” “We wish you success and enjoyment in this role at FIFA and look forward to welcoming you soon in Zurich.” According to Pinnick, the nomination was as a result of Nigeria’s standing, not his own personality ability. “I have always maintained that our country is too big to be a silent member of the international football community. This appointment is to the applause of Nigeria football, not myself as a person. “This will certainly encourage our efforts home and abroad to project Nigeria football positively. I insist: Nigeria has the quantity and quality of population to excel in several areas of endeavor globally”, he said. Japan’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Sadanobu Kusaoke, says his country sees a gradual growth in the number of its companies active in Nigeria. Kusaoke made the remark at a send-off party for 25 Nigerians offered scholarship to study in Japan by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in Abuja on Tuesday. “I hope this trend continues. It will lead to increased opportunities for Nigerians to work in Japanese companies’’, Kusaoke said. Kusaoke explained that the scholarship, awarded through African Business Education Initiative (ABEI), an initiative of Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, was aimed at assisting Nigerian youths. According to Kusaoke, the programme aims to provide 1,000 African youths the opportunity to study at Japanese universities and learn its businesses. “The Japanese Government, in this connection, offers the ABEI programme, a five-year plan, providing 1,000 African youths with opportunity to study at Japanese universities. “The objective of this programme is to groom personnel who can recognise and understand the code of Japanese society. “It is also to recognise the system of its enterprises to contribute to African development in collaboration with its private sector. Kusaoke expressed confidence in the participants, saying that they would help to bridge the gap between the two countries after spending some years to experience Japan’s culture. The ambassador said the diversification of the economy into ICT and agriculture was needed by Nigeria in the face of current economic challenges. Mr Oladimeji Shogbuyi, Director, International Cooperation, National Planning Commission (NPC), expressed satisfaction with Japan’s assistance to Nigerian youths through ABEI programme. According to Shogbuyi, the successful candidates will benefit from diverse fields in Master’s degree and Internship Programme in Japan. He explained that it was part of Japanese Government’s policy of promoting support for the dynamic growth of Africa with stronger Public Private Partnership. He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening economic relations between Nigeria and Japan through human resource development for industrial growth. “The internship programme is the fulfillment of the promise made by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), held in Japan in 2013. “This initiative will further strengthen the partnership that exists between the governments of Nigeria and Japan by fostering trade and economic union’’, Shogbuyi said. Mr Agrigato Gozaimasu, one of the beneficiaries and a spokesman for the participants, expressed gratitude to government of Japan for favouring Nigerian youths in its programme. Gozaimasu said that Japanese government had been in strong partnership with Nigeria, adding that this had led to the establishment of JICA in the country. He pledged that they would to be good ambassadors of Nigeria while in Japan. “We are going to Japan with the goals of ABEI written in our heart. “It is our dream to see Japanese business men and women investing in Nigerian infrastructure. http://www.metronaija.com/2015/08/japan-grants-25-nigerians-scholarship.html cc: lalasticlala ishilove |

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) had begun probe into the Bristow helicopter that gone down into the lagoon in Lagos. This comes just as local divers and fishermen in Oworonshoki commenced searching desperately for the two remaining passengers. The source said that the participation of the fishermen “is more effective than anything government agencies can do in this matter because they (local divers) know the terrain more than any other person.” The chopper, registration number 5N-BDG, crashed near the Third Mainland Bridge with 12 people on board. Tunji Oketunbi, the bureau’s general manager, public affairs, said that Felix Abali, AIB commissioner, is leading the team of investigation. At least, four people died and six wounded in the crash. Onimode Abdullahi, South-West Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency, said the four corps had been transported at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary. But Michael Akindele, general manager of Lagos NEMA said the agency could not confirm the exact figure of the passengers. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has yielded to pressure to release the results of candidates for the May/June 2015 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), earlier withheld as a result of indebtedness by some states. This was due to the intervention of the Nigeria Governors Forum and other stakeholders who appealed to the examination body to reconsider its decision in view of the effect the withholding of the results would have on the future of the candidates. Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC, Mr. Charles Eguridu, announced the release of the results, on Wednesday, at a joint news conference with the Deputy Director of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF), Alhaji L.O.T Shitu, after hours of dialogue on the debt owed the council by some states. He disclosed that the results could be uploaded on the council website within 24 hours of the announcement, saying the decision was based on the wish of the council not to impede the educational progress of any Nigerian child. He said: “Following appeals from our stakeholders, including parents, the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, notable Nigerians, other well-meaning citizens and most importantly, the intervention of secretariat of Nigeria Governors Forum, which we have informed is on the directive of the chairman of the forum and governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, we have decided to hearken to appeals and review our earlier position. “More so, the continued withholding of the results will adversely affect the educational prospects of the affected candidates for admission purposes. “Consequently, the management of the council has decided that the results of the candidates of indebted states would be released in deference to all the appeals and commitment of the NGF. “The results are, therefore, to be uploaded on our result website in the next 24 hours. This decision is based on our wish not to impede the educational progress of any Nigerian child,” he said. http://www.metronaija.com/2015/08/waec-releases-results-of-candidates-of.html cc: lalasticlala ishilove |
