44chux: Ironically those pipes are generally thicker/ stronger than the H-beams. Especially when sourced from the used/scrap market.
It's more of a design issue. Copy and paste is cheaper for us. If it works for my neighbour, it will work for me. those pipes really very scarce especially if you live outside of oil producing areas. They're usually decommissioned pipes from pipelines which on its own is a risk because it has outlived its time. But that doesn't mean it will collapse. The collapse of tank stand is usually from the base. If you make mistake on the foundation,it will affect the general structure. Another issue is the overloading of the structure. You can imagine a situation where you are meant to carry something too heavy for you |

TheboyGhost: Do you teach kids about been straight and about marriage at age 18 or 21?
Nobody will force you to be what you don't want to be, they are only teaching tolerance, tolerance I repeat. listen oh, we're what we are thought and exposed to. My argument is simple, let kids be kids. Don't push any ideology to them. Allow them to grow up and then make life altering decisions as adults. It is that simple |

What type of nonsense is this for heaven's sake?
Whoever is doing this woke thing is serious about setting this world upside down
To vote and be legally aged to be prosecuted, you need to be 18 and in some cases 21. Why not use same age to teach about trans sex and whatever |

chidiokay: How will those agencies know, is it even the job of EFCC or securities personel to investigate and provide data of quantities of fuel we consume ... you don't even know what you are saying
It is not the job of the FG or Security agencies, instead it is the job of NNPC and marketers to give statistics of quantity dispense per day ... but these two major players are insincere, they inflate figures to make back end profit and legal profit. with the removal of subsidy marketer won't order beyond what Nigerians can consume, taking fuel to neighbouring countries is no long viable,
We have a very corrupt system which is why trying to block the loopholes in subsidy would alway an effort in futility, from NNPC to marketers to Security agencies & those at the boarder majority of them are fantastically corrupt.
Our economics is dollar dependent becos both the people and the govt keep failing to take bold steps. imagine Nigeria importing palm oil what job do you do before we extend this conversation |
Politics › Re: The Implications Of Tinubu's Unplanned Economic Policy Changes by michlins(m): 9:21am On Jun 16, 2023 |
chidiokay: Why are you talking like a Nigeria was born yesterday, the previous administrations have they not all tried to block the loopholes, have they not all tried the gradual removal approach and did GEJ not push out cushion effect policy before the partial removal of subsidy ... how did it end
You want to know what it will cost the govt, in as much we don't have a reliable database system, all we have is inflated figures of quantity consumed daily, without knowing the actual figure, all move to block loopholes will not just be time wasting and chasing looose ends.
With the subsidy Removal, Nigerians will soon know the actual qunatity we consume daily ... that Result is what will determine direction & measures to adopt
A country that is import dependent will do everything possible to reconfigurate the taste of its citizen, as a govt you don't encourage inportation, e.g in china you pay more tax and it cost more to buy an imported goods inside china, when you hear the cost you will settle for china made so you mean to tell me that with multiple government agencies doing almost same work like EFCC, police, army, airforce, Navy, DSS and others,we can not investigate and know the actual number we consume daily and also protect our borders to ensure that they don't move out? That sounds like a huge indictment on the part of the government and the security agencies. The masses should not be made to suffer the consequences of the failures. And our economy is dependent on imported goods is not because we love them but because we don't have an option. Our cotton mills are not working so we import to supplement and we don't have power to run our factories so they close shops. Why blame the masses who have given everything already. That being said, what is the ruling class sacrificing? They are still collecting humongous benefits and salaries |

dele1727: Please Tell us how long it will take to fix the Refinery that you want in place? What is the cost of fixing the refineries? Where will the money come from? More Loans or sales of crude oil that are been rejected all over Europe and Asia?
And while bulding the refineries...you continue paying subsidy on the pms at rate of 6.3tn per day.....
On the exchange rates.... believe me the pressure on the CBN to source for dollar has dropped like the consumption of Fuel ...
Nigeria who Japa on student visa, who send money back to change in black market and get naira to CBN for school fee and Allowance will stop now because the rate are the same....
The importers, travellers and co who has access to cheap dollar to the extent that the get more than enough dollar from the CBN to sell at the black market will disappear ...
So the demand of dollar and the Fuel will have is 180% more than what is needed by the traders ... majority still find it way to the black market.. and since yesterday....The rate of the dollar in the black market has not changed ...it's still 950-960... depending on the buyer and the seller and their negotiating prowess
The real amount of dollar and Fuel consumed by Nigerians will soon be known...
Not the former inflated figures that is mainly due to underhand and shaddy dealings...
So stop speculating room and wait for the Market to respond and decide which way it will actually go....
Although something tells me that if this policy was done by someone else... You will embrace it just like you embrace the Naira design policy.. which turn out to be an extermly foolish idea ok let's say you're right, what will it cost the government to first of all block the loopholes in the subsidy regime and that of round tripping of dollar before floating them? A country that is import dependent has no business floating its currency. How can a country with over 100ml poor people liberalise its market and expect the same poor people to afford it? Elections are gone, it's time we speak the truth because irrespective of whom you support,we will all buy from the same market |

sainsburry: Nop Dear, Banks And CBN Will Be Able To Meet The Demand Side So There Is No Need To Patronise Black Market Unless Black Market Are Ready To Match The Prevailing Rate i.e If I Need To Pay My School Of $12,500 And My Bank Is Able To Sell For Me @ 755 Why Patronisr Black Market At 1,000 the problem is, can you bank be able to have enough supply of forex to meet your forex needs? Most policies in Nigeria are not based on our unique position as a nation but rather brash approach. When a previous government uses a particular policy and it doesn't work, the preceding administration will go directly opposite without first finding out what made the policy not to work. As a consumer nation, our demand for forex is sky-high and it is our greatest undoing. We don't have stable power,we don't have functional refineries,we don't have steel manufacturing plants,we don't have capacity to produce our own food but we're floating our currency and allowing market forces to determine the rates. What this will mean is that in the next one year, trades will be calculated in dollars and our local currency will be next to nothing. Do not expect Nigeria people not to take advantage of the situation. It's purely business and as humans,we will take maximum advantage |

This is exactly why I don't take pity on people who say they are jobless. Barbing is a skill you can pick up within six months but you will see people (male and female) walking around looking for salary job in banks.
In this Nigeria, there's insane shortage of skills and experience. If you want to earn, pick up one and be good at it and you will earn a decent living.
Right now everyone wants to be a tictok star and earn forex including people who have no single content
Op, kindly find money and move to places like Ghana and see if there are people who are willing to work and bring them here. You will have to spend more but you will see to it that your business did not die |
